It's Thursday, so it's time for Adam's NFL's Top 5/Bottom 5 rankings! Which group hasn't really changed much, and which teams are surprising to you?

It's time to play Top 5, Bottom 5.

All right, here, this is what we do. I gave you the best five and the worst five. Should we do the, let's do the worst five first, shall we? And we'll start from the very bottom. No, let's wait. We'll leave the very bottom for last.

Maybe there'll be a surprise in the very bottom. Number five. All right, so this is actually number 28. The New Orleans Saints are number 28.

They are two and five. This is a team that I thought could win the division at the beginning of the year. This is how bad they are. James Winston is healthy. Andy Dalton threw back to back pick sixes last week and he's still the starter.

Wow. What is Dennis Allen doing? I don't know. So yes, we've got the Saints at number 28.

Moving on. Number four. All right, number four. I know they won, but it's just the Packers. The Washington Commandos are number 29, I guess. I know they're three and four, but they're the Washington Commandos. They're now realizing that Carson Wentz isn't it.

So late to the party. Taylor, I mean, honestly, why not just let Taylor Heineke? I honestly thought they were going to keep, because Heineke played some pretty good games at the end of last season. The truth is, is that he's a middle level backup.

He's just a guy. But what they did was they paid a lot of money for a slightly better version of Taylor Heineke. Just lose with Taylor Heineke.

Be mid with Taylor Heineke. So you are number 29, the Washington Commandos. Number three. All right, number three. This is going to be a little bit of a surprise. Oh boy. Yeah. Look, I know you don't have your quarterback yet, but I think the Cleveland Browns belong in this category because the Browns have talent and they're two and five against this NFL.

We've talked about this. There are four teams, I think, that are legitimately good, really good to great in the NFL, and they will be in the top four until further notice. There's no excuse for Cleveland to be two and five, not with their talent. I don't care. Jacobi Brissette's not incompetent.

He's not incompetent. I still can't believe they lost that game to the Jets, which I mean, frankly, was more loss than win for the Jets. So the Browns are number 30. Number two. The Carolina Panthers.

Oh, okay. Carolina Panthers are number two. They got a win last week. We move out of the basement when you get a win.

You know, it's funny. Arthur Smith, the head coach of the Falcons, the Panthers play this week, said you can see that the team, the players have faith in PJ Walker. They're rallying around PJ Walker. Like I have no idea if they're going to beat Atlanta. I really don't.

Half of me thinks they will. And maybe a lot of it is they believe in PJ Walker. Again, familiarity is a good thing, right? It is a good thing when you have familiarity, and they have familiarity with PJ Walker.

It is very telling, by the way, that Baker Mayfield is second on the depth chart. Oh, yeah. That, to me, is a loud... We're a hot mess. Well, no, it's not that. It essentially is shouting that the players don't necessarily buy Baker. Yeah. It's kind of like Russell Wilson. It's tough, man.

When you don't have history, it's really, really difficult. I think Baker projects himself a certain way, and maybe that way isn't the same as it is indoors. I really don't know, but I think it is telling that Baker is the number two on the depth chart. There were rumors about him in the locker room, so they might be true.

In Cleveland, absolutely. I mean, Keyshawn, who apparently hates Baker, but he's been saying that all along about Baker Mayfield. And number one. Number one.

Or number 32. Uh-huh. And by the way, the Houston Texans are not on this list because we have pity. Okay.

There you go. The Detroit Lions. Yeah.

I want to like the Detroit Lions because I like Dan Campbell, but they've already come out and given him a vote of confidence, and that's a problem. There was so much potential for them, too. Didn't they win their opener? Yeah. Or no, I think they lost in a shootout. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. They lost in a shootout. They're opener in a shootout. I still think there's something there.

I think he has something to offer aside from the biting kneecaps. Right. From way back in the day. All right. Let's move on to the best five. Number five. No, no, we're going to start at number one. Oh, we're going with number one.

Because we know. Number one. The Buffalo Bills are the best team in the National Football League.

This list has one change from last week, but none in the top four. Until further notice, I don't even care if they lose twice in a row. Yeah. They are the best team in the league. Number two.

Number two. The Kansas City Chiefs. I have not changed my opinion. Those are the two best teams in the sport. I want to see that game again in the AFC Championship game. It'll be in Buffalo this time. By the way, have you seen renderings of the new Bills stadium?

Oh, I have not. Yes. It looks very nice.

A little surprised, but also pleased that it is going to be an open air stadium. Really? So, yeah, look, I actually think that's a good thing. Yeah.

One of the things that Buffalo offers is the elements. Yeah. Right.

It's supposed to be tough to play here. Well, it makes a home field advantage. So there.

In theory, it should. Yeah. So I'm glad they did that. Yeah. So, yeah.

But the pictures are very, very beautiful. Of course, it's about 80% public finance. I'm sure the people of Western New York are thrilled about that. Super happy. Give a billionaire a playground that you get no benefit from, but you have a football team. So that's good.

That's what happens when you play a couple of games, you know, at least one, sometimes two games here in Toronto. Oh, yeah. We could move here.

We could move here. Yeah. One other quick aside. Pete Carroll, they lost, was it DK Metcalf to a knee injury? Pete Carroll is now advocating that the NFL consider demanding teams to use natural grass fields. Oh, interesting. So now that we have a lot of domes, I think there are 10 or so domes in the NFL.

Some of them are retractable. So you can grow grass on the field and then close it for games. Arizona actually grows the game field. It's a grass field.

They grow it outdoors and then bring it in, wheel it in. Oh, wow. For game days, which is very cool. Yeah. Anybody that is interested, you can find any number of articles about the playing surfaces in Premier League Soccer. It looks like a grass field and it is, but it's a hybrid. It is interwoven with artificial turf. Yeah.

So it's a combination of the two. It's mostly grass, but it's a much more durable playing surface. It's also sand-based and the data says that the games in England now are faster and safer. Oh, you know, that's a hot topic for Bank of America Stadium too. A lot of fans want to see, because they have that for their soccer team that play at Bank of America. And there's a lot of fans who are like, our people are getting hurt because it's not natural.

So that's actually an issue for us here. My son who plays a lot of soccer, they love when they're playing on artificial turf, get no bad bounces. It's a little bit more comfortable. Of course it's spongy, but as you get older and you get stronger and you weigh more, it's more dangerous. I don't know what the percentage is. I was reading an article about it today. It's almost 30% more dangerous on your lower extremities. Oh, interesting. It does cause more injuries. There's no give. Yeah.

The grass, natural grass gives, but the hybrid that they're using in the Premier League is very interesting. So I encourage you to read about it. I don't know where we were. Three. Oh, three. Philadelphia Eagles. This is easy. Best team in the NFC. We don't have to go any further than that. They have figured out a way to make Jalen Hurts one of the best, I don't know, one of the best five quarterbacks in the league this year. Mm-hmm. I mean, in terms of production, find five better quarterbacks than Jalen Hurts right now. All right.

Moving on. Number four. Number four, the Dallas Cowboys. Again, these are the four best teams in the sport. Dallas' defense is absolutely good enough to win a Super Bowl. If the offense catches up, they'll be fine. I mean, they will be right there at the end.

And now, Number five. Nobody. Nobody. No one. Well, maybe someone. All right.

Is there an honorable mention? Well, somebody has to be, somebody has to be number five. Right. I'm going to go with the Vikings this week for this reason.

It's not, they're not out of nowhere. We've all thought that the Vikings who have Dalvin Cook, who have Justin Jefferson, who have Adam Thielen, who have had very good offenses and good defenses over the last several years, we have thought that this is a team that is close to putting it together. Now, my level of confidence in the Vikings is not really high. But I don't know who else to put it number five.

Yeah. The Giants have a better record. They do. And the Jets. The Jets have five and two.

Minnesota's five and one. Giants are six and one. I'm closer to accepting the Giants, but I still think the Giants are entirely about coaching, which at some point is gone. Once you get to a certain point, now they've seen you for multiple games. And when you get to the playoffs, I don't have a lot of faith in that.

I think the Vikings in terms of personnel are better, even though Kirk Cousins is afraid of the spotlight, terrified of the moment. But he's going to play a bunch of games at one o'clock. Yeah. There's not a moment at one o'clock. No.

But Vikings are number five for me. And that's that. That's all I got on there. Yeah.
