This is the Adam Gold Show. All right, let's start with NC State and Wake Forest. This game, of course, at Carter Finley Stadium. The Deacons are a four-point favorite on the road. Sam Hartman turned it over every time in the second half until they finally went and decided this is no good. We're not winning. Let's not get him hurt because it's one of those days.

That will not continue. Sam Hartman will not turn it over every time in the second half. NC State doesn't need them to turn it over every time in the second half. I like this as a close game. I like this as a, not a low-scoring game, but not bonkers like we might have otherwise expected from Wake Forest. I do like the Deacons to win a close one, 33-30. So, give me the Wolfpack plus the points and the over. The fact that you think the Wolfpack are going to score 30 points is pretty impressive on my end. I don't think it's going to be that close. I think 35-17 and only 17 because of a late score by State.

Oh, man, ye of little faith. I'm on the MJ Morris train. All right, UNC heads up to Virginia. As you alluded to earlier in the first hour, UNC, when they visit Charlottesville, history hasn't been great for them, but let's be real, UNC's a way better team than UVA right now. The best things that's actually going to be happening around that game, Boto's Bagels, great spot to go to, or if you're going to go to Riverside Grill, that's probably one of the best actions actually going to be, as opposed to on the football field, because it's not even going to be close. UNC blows them out.

I agree. UNC blows them out, but I think Virginia is going to put some points on the board, but I don't think they can stop Carolina at all. So give me the Tar Heels 38-20 over Virginia. You think they'll actually score a touchdown, Virginia? Do I think it's 10 safeties. Oh, okay.

Gotcha. Yeah, I think they'll manage two touchdowns. Like, North Carolina's defense still isn't that good. No, but neither is Miami's. They couldn't score a touchdown against them either.

Yeah, both teams, both teams drag that into the mud. All right, we got a football game tonight. Duke is going to Boston College to become bowl-eligible. Duke is a 10-and-a-half-point road favorite. I am curious the last time Duke was a 10-and-a-half-point road favorite anywhere. Seriously. Maybe at home.

10-and-a-half-point road favorite at home? Yeah. So meaning at Rutgers? Oh! Sorry. Sorry. I made myself laugh.

Let's see what you did there. I think the Blue Devils are going to win, but I just don't see them as a 10-and-a-half-point road favorite type of team. Give me the Blue Devils 27-23. I think it was actually good, the way Duke poured it out against Miami a couple weeks ago, that the bi-week came out a good time for them to kind of reset themselves a little bit, because it's going to be somewhat of a tough stretch run. BC, I don't think it's going to be easy, and they still have pit and wake for us, but I think they'll beat BC and Virginia Tech next week. I think they'll win seven this season.

But, yeah, Boal's will have to do that. Gosh, and they should have beaten Georgia Tech, even though they played poorly. Can't lose that game to Georgia Tech, and honestly, they had the game against UNC.

They did. All right, next one that we have here, Clemson at Notre Dame. We all know Notre Dame stinks, but I think Clemson DJ Ooyoungo Lele. Yeah, he's going to start, but the big question's going to be, can he actually put together a good game again?

Because, again, he got benched in that last game against Syracuse. A lot of people are going to be looking on their shoulder. I'm actually the over-under on a number of times the back-of-quarterback whole cool that gets shown on the sideline. I'm going to put the over-under at 10 and a half in the first half.

Take the over. It's a great prop bet. I think Clemson has a hard time with this game, but I think ultimately they pull it out. I think Notre Dame can beat them the way, because Notre Dame's defense is very good, but their offense is bad, and Clemson's a defense-first team.

What do you take away? There's nothing to take away, and I don't think Notre Dame's going to, maybe they'll fumble, but I don't think there's going to be a lot of turnovers. Clemson 26-20 to win the game. Notre Dame's O-live versus Clemson's D-line's going to be fun.

Yeah, absolutely. Panthers and Bengals. Ah, catfight. You were waiting for that, weren't you? I have no faith in the Cincinnati Bengals at all. I do have faith in the Steve Wilkes train. I like the Panthers to win this game in Cincinnati. Let's be honest, the Panthers should have beaten the Falcons.

Oh, yeah. Should have beaten the Falcons on the road. For some reason, the Panthers are better on the road, I think, than they are at home. Maybe they're just bad everywhere, and it's in a very small sample size, but the Bengals are a little banged up.

That much we know. They're banged up in a lot of places, and I think there's a little bit of a vibe to this Panthers team with Steve Wilkes and PJ Walker. I'll take the Panthers in a relatively low-scoring game because that's all they play.

21-17. Bengals are showing, well, they're still the Bengals, and I think they're also showing that last year's late-in-the-year stretch run was Fool's Court. Yeah, it was just the hot team.

Yeah, they got hot at the right time. Simple as that. All right, biggest football game of the weekend, Georgia-Tennessee this weekend. Now, a lot of people are having the question of, all right, if you lose this game, what impact does it have in terms of the college football playoff if you lose this game if you're Georgia or Tennessee? I think a loss by Tennessee is probably better if either team had to lose for the simple fact that they've beaten Alabama this year, and if Georgia beats Alabama in the SEC Championship game, Georgia and Tennessee both end up going. But I don't know if that'd be the case if Georgia loses to Tennessee, because, again, you're hoping that Tennessee beats Alabama a second time, which I don't see happening. But give me Tennessee, Hedden Hooker from the 336.

He puts up five touchdowns. Tennessee wins. Tennessee at Georgia. That would be a seismic win for the, not the SEC. I think a seismic win, really, just for Tennessee. I like Georgia at home in this game, but I am rooting hard for Tennessee because I have no interest in watching Georgia play football. Is it okay to say that Georgia bores the LSU? No, that's totally okay. They bore me to death 100% with you. All right, go, Walls.

All right, I guess this is my turn now. We're skipping the Alabama LSU game because I don't care. Sabres are at the Hurricanes tonight at PNC Arena.

Oh, wow. I think fun will be had. Goals will be scored in this game. The Sabres are not great in net. They're not great defensively on the blue line. They are good offensively on the blue line. Rasmus Nalene, Owen Power, both dynamic offensive players. They've got tons of scoring up front. And the Hurricanes have had a little bit of a problem keeping the puck out of their net with bad goals. And I think a team like Buffalo will put a lot of pressure on them. We're going to see Aunty Ronta tonight, by the way, not Freddie Anderson. I'm excited to see Ronta play. But I think the Hurricanes will win a 5-4 game in regulation.

We will not need extra time for the first time in a while. Jeff Skinner still plays for the Sabres, right? He does. Okay, when's the last time a Jeff Skinner team actually won when they're expected? Ha ha ha ha.

Very nice. Very nice, but Skinner will probably score a goal he seems to score every time. Oh, yeah, he'll put up three points.

He plays against the Hurricanes. And I'm just going to leave this one to you, Chelsea versus Arsenal. Yeah, there's two really good matches, I think, in the Premier League this weekend. Chelsea hosting Arsenal. This is kind of a crossroads game. First of all, Graham Potter's side went to Brighton where he used to coach, and they got absolutely run off the coast.

I mean, just completely run. They have to play well. Arsenal's flat better than them. I want to pick Arsenal to win. I think a draw at Chelsea would be an acceptable result, and then Arsenal will find themselves behind City because City's not losing. I think City's playing like Southampton or somebody.

Okay. They ain't losing. They're a machine, but Arsenal-Chelsea draw. Also, Liverpool at Tottenham. Oh, yeah. Liverpool's going to win that match.

Yeah. I think Liverpool's going to win that match, mostly because I hate Tottenham. And, frankly, so far this year, I've hated Liverpool that you have. Liverpool wins at 2-1. Last goal, 90 plus 4. 90 plus 4? 90 plus 4, they get the game-winner.

It's like Rod Bryndamore changing the lines between the second and third periods. Just trying to shake it up a little bit, keep everybody on their toes. That's what we're doing here. We'll probably get back to Ajo, Terevinin, and Jarvis at some point. We'll even talk about that with Luke Tkok of the News and Observer in a little bit. But first, we are going to address college football with Luke because it's a big weekend of ACC football. As we get here in the last month of the season, Wake and State and Carolina will all play each other. Clemson is at Notre Dame. Duke has a chance to become bowl eligible tonight.

Luke Tkok of the News and Observer joins us on the Adam Gold Show. Let's start with the Wake State game. Dave Doran was trying to be coy earlier in this season. He was trying to be coy earlier in this week by saying that he and the staff had not talked about whether or not it would just be MJ Morris or if they would use both quarterbacks. But of course, we all laughed at that because there's no way this is not MJ Morris' team right now based on what we saw last week against Virginia Tech. But Wake and State with Morris at the helm, that's a pretty big spot for this guy. What are your thoughts on this going in?

I mean, it is. And I mean, I think Dave's just taken a page out of the Larry Fedora It Gives Me Pleasure book of not revealing any quarterback information. But honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if they had a few packages for Jack Chambers just to keep Wake off balance because you know that Wake is going to unload the defensive playbook on MJ Morris. I mean, they're going to disguise coverages. They're going to disguise blitzes. They're going to zone blitz. They're going to drop eight. They're going to do everything they can to confuse him, especially on any type of, you know, read option or run RPO play. You know, they're going to do everything they can to make his decision-making difficult. If you put Jack Chambers in there with a couple packages, you know, you may be able to simplify things and get a first down or, you know, get a big gain on first down.

So I wouldn't rule it out. But unquestionably in the big picture, this is MJ Morris' team for the near and potentially far future. It's going to be a real test. Wake is a veteran team.

They have a lot of bullets they can fire on defense to make things complicated. And it's going to be a real test of his sort of abilities under fire. Look, we know the kid's a decent player. He may be a great player. This is probably going to be one of the hardest games of his career because Wake Force is going to be, you know, they're going to come loaded for bear to try to confuse the kid in this spot.

But, you know, he's got legs. He can run the ball. You know, if he makes some plays since then, that's going to put Wake Force off guard, too. I think State, the way they played, see, the way I look at NC State to me this year has all been about how do you approach the game? When they had no other option, I think they proved to themselves, maybe it's just because it's Virginia Tech and they're a dumpster fire, but when they had no other option, they proved to themselves that they could throw the ball down the field and be effective in their offense. I think Wake will present a lot of those same opportunities.

Like, have at it. You have nothing to lose if you are a State. Your goals from the beginning of the season are gone, but you can still have a great year, but it can't be a great year if you don't win this game. Well, and it was just Virginia Tech. The same thing happened to a certain degree against Florida State, where they did open up a little of the playbook for Jack Chambers and late in the Syracuse game. Like, we've seen them be too cautious with Devin Leary at quarterback.

So, at this point, you're absolutely right. Why are you being cautious? Why are you protecting guys? You protected Devin Leary, the ACC Player of the Year, having him throw screens in 10-yard passes because you weren't happy with the State of your receivers.

Now you've got nothing to lose. Fling it downfield, see what happens. If nothing else, it'll keep Wake Forest off balance, and I think there's value in that, too. What people get caught up in is whether or not you complete the downfield pass, but just the attempt of throwing it down the field has an impact because now we have to cover it. And if you don't ever look that way, I mean, I'd put eight or nine in the box, too, and stop the run game. And, frankly, State's run game hasn't been all that anyway.

They need the element of the quarterback run, which might be a reason to use Jack Chambers, but I'm not even sure that is the reason to use Jack Chambers. All right, Carolina is going to Charlottesville, which traditionally has been a tough spot, but not lately. Carolina's been better than UVA. And I'm not going to say I don't see a scenario where Virginia wins this game, but there are always scenarios when UNC's defense is involved, but I don't really see a scenario where UNC loses in Charlottesville.

Can you see one? Yeah, and only because we saw it last year with UNC. I mean, I'm not saying this is last year's UNC team, but that team did lose games. No one could see them losing when it got a little complacent.

I think that's sort of the lesson to be drawn from that season. When you look at what UNC's done the last couple weeks, really since the Notre Dame game, is there a chance that this group thinks, okay, we're over the hump, you know, and doesn't show up in Virginia? I think that's the only way Virginia wins this game. I don't think Virginia has the firepower or the defense to hang with North Carolina on either side of the ball. If North Carolina loses this game, it will be self-inflicted damage. If North Carolina plays the way it played in the second half against Pitt, they may need your running clock in the second half, like Syracuse Wagner.

Yes. Real quick about the Tar Heels, two things. Luke Tkok of the News and Observer is with us. They're still sort of fringy because of when they lost their game. They're still sort of fringy for a playoff spot, very fringy.

It would need a lot of help, obviously. But they have been impressive. If they close it out, what's the worst-case scenario for North Carolina if they run the table the rest of the way? Oh, probably the Orange Bowl at that point. You know, the issue that North Carolina is going to have, other than Wake, and State still has decent computer rankings, their schedule is not going to help them. You know, the win over Wake would help them. A win over State would still help them, especially if State can win a few more games. But beating Virginia is not going to impress anyone. Beating Virginia Tech didn't impress anyone. You know, the coastal is just not great.

There aren't many opportunities to improve your resume. The thing that will kill the Tar Heels that you're going to hear is strength of record. They didn't have a very strong schedule, and they lost the one game they really had to win if they went out. You know, but if you beat Clemson in the championship game, that does change the dynamic. But as things stand, they've got a lot of work to do just because of the state of their schedule.

It's not, you know, there's nothing you can do about it. You can only beat the teams that are in front of you, but it's why the Notre Dame game was such a huge missed opportunity. Yes, they should have beaten Notre Dame. They should have actually, forget about beating Notre Dame, they should have not looked like they didn't belong on the field with Notre Dame.

That will always stick in my head. By the way, does Clemson go to South Bend and win? I think so. I don't know that Notre Dame is all that good, to be honest with you. They're not. I'm not buying the Irish this year. I'm not either, but I think this is going to be a close game. All right, finally, Jeff Skinner is coming to PNC Arena with the Buffalo Sabres. Will he or won't he score a goal tonight?

Ah, that's a great question. I'm going to say no, just because the odds are probably in my favor. You know, 35 goals over 82 games. But obviously, and not to mention that history, the law of averages suggests he can't score two goals every time against the hurricane. You know, I think the hurricanes are in a decent spot here. Everyone talks about, you know, the road home back to back being tough. But I almost feel like those teams usually come in pretty primed in the first period.

They know they're up against it. They're not that far removed from playing. I feel like that's not the worst scenario in the league. And with the Sabres, you know, obviously they've got some young talent and they're getting better. But if you can get up to nothing on them in the first period, I think you can pretty much close the door and wait them out. So I think it's actually a pretty good spot for the Hurricanes, even if Skinner scores one or two or whatever. Skinner has six goals and seven career games against Carolina. This Buffalo team can score. They have a lot of weapons all across the the forward line. And Rasmus Daliin looks like the first pick in the draft from a few years ago. So we'll have the first three picks in that draft on the ice tonight to switch to cough and cook in the Emmy or bolt there as well. All right. Final thing about the Hurricanes.

Luke to cock of the NNO. Is there anything through 10 games that is somewhat concerning for you? Yeah, I just wish the goaltending were a hair better.

I don't think it's been terrible. I just look at how good Freddie and Ranta were last year and you sort of expect them to pick up where they left off. And I'm not quite sure that they have Freddie in particular. The new guys, Daphne Burns like it, you know, Kasha when he gets playing again, like it's going to take them a while.

That's fine. That doesn't concern me. I think Burns is really starting to show sign that he's starting to internalize some of what they ask him to do. I would just like the goaltending to be a little sharper. I don't think it's hurt them to this point.

I don't think it's going to stay that way. But I think if you're there's not a lot of nitpicks with with this team right now, but that to me is the one you could also point out some of the special team stuff. But I'm going to I'm going to take goaltending. I've I talked about it last night in the podcast. I'm concerned and I was concerned going into the season.

So maybe I'm looking for something that I was already concerned about. But there have been basically a soft goal or probably just one soft goal, but maybe two in every game this year. Yeah, and then he's got darling ass and that is difficult to overcome, especially as the competition gets a little more strict. Carolina got away with the fact that they played a lot of teams that probably aren't playoff teams early in the season and the one the playoff teams they did play Edmonton Calgary Tampa last night. They don't have an amazing record against one one in one in those three, but I love the way they played last night. I thought Carolina was great last night. Yeah, no, there's a lot to like about that game. There were a couple sort of ebbs and flows to it, but the end of it particularly I thought they showed some resolve and and to get back and get the two points.

There was a lot to like about that. Did you could you figure out why Jalen Chatfield got that first penalty on Caden Fleur? I could not. I could not, but at that point I was still, you know, worried about trips and sending him honey and lemon to get him through the game.

So it was not the beginning of watching the game screaming at the television. So you know debating whether to send trip a door dash package. Luke to cock at Luke to cock on Twitter from the Internet. Thank you very much, man. I'll talk to you next week. All right.

You got it. I'll probably see him at the arena a little bit later on. Kane's in the Buffalo Sabres tonight. There's been a raging Kane's Twitter debate about whether Freddie Anderson was culpable on the second goal.

And yeah, of course he was. I mean, that cannot go in. I don't care if it's deflected in front if Freddie is in position to stop the goal, which he was not.

It's not a goal no matter what happens. There's just not enough room for it to go in. It would have to be deflected from right out in front and it was not. It was deflected from the side of the net that the puck was coming from. So if Anderson is in position, there's just there's just no way it gets through.

Zero chance it gets through. But he was not and that is a problem. Goal tending for me for the Hurricanes this year was my number one fear at the beginning of the season. A for the most part until Anderson got hurt in Colorado, which was what was that early April last year? It was like with 10, 12 games left in the season.

Maybe not even that right. Until Anderson got hurt for the most part, there were Knicks bumps and bruises there, but nothing major. They got away with a full season from two guys in their 30s who had a lot of mile and that's not a great recipe, but also both guys played really well.

This year. I just worried that it was going to happen again, that it couldn't happen again. And so far, there's been a there's been a soft goal basically every game and that you can't you can't survive that you can't survive that when it matters. I will say this, though, Ronta's best play has been late in games. Yeah. And Freddie in the third period and the shootout was really good.

Yeah. So it was encouraging from that standpoint and hopefully Aunty Ronta will play well tonight because I think he's going to have to. Buffalo is very good. Let's go to halftime. There were no injuries.

No injuries and nobody does. Like Ross Colton last night. Full on flop twice. Yeah. On the same sequence.

He flop twice and got away with it. Yeah. Good for him. I'm sorry. Good. No, it's OK. It's fine.

Real I want to touch on a couple of things real quick before we get to some of those other stuff. Did you and Victoria talk about the Clyde's Cooper barbecue incident where a customer actually called the cops because she didn't like the way her food was. We did not.

We did not discuss it. The yeah. Apparently the customer was put off by the fact that it was pink. Well, we'll get into this one a little bit because I actually have the 911 call. Oh, really? Yes. There was a 911 call? There was a we'll get into that in a little bit.

I want to touch on a couple things before we get to that. 911 call. Yes. Like a legit real 911 call.

Our friend Brian Murphy over at WRAL uses the freedom of information back to request the audio of this call and we have since received it. So we will play that for you in just a minute. I'll get into the whole the whole details of this. 911 911 call. Yes. That is correct.

OK. All right. So game four of the World Series. We saw the combined no hitter by the Houston Astros.

Second time there's ever been a no hitter first combined no hitter. 11.8 million viewers watch that. Best since 2018. Well, 11.8 million people watched game four of the world.

Like best since 2018. Can we put those numbers in context? Sure. In my lifetime, World Series games would do 30 million people. Yeah. It shows you where baseball has gone from a national perspective locally. It's become a regional and local game.

Yeah. Where the NFL has become a national game. It's still a pretty good number.

11 almost 12 million people. But man, that's a I'm waiting for the football for the football brain to say how. Well, it's a Bengals Browns on Thursday night. There are 21 million people watch.

I get it. There's actually a lot of curiosity is in terms of who or how many people watched last night baseball versus football because football won even though it was on Amazon. Well, I bet because again, Houston and Philly playing in both games, which is kind of that is funny. Yeah. I mean, I had the Philly thing. Yeah. Yeah. Houston playing Philly both.

It's interesting. But the Astros could beat the Texans by the way. They probably could actually.

They probably would. But my thought was, well, in Houston and Philly, the World Series is going to obviously have the most ratings. But in terms of a national standpoint, it still wouldn't surprise me if it was football. I don't know. I think it would be football. Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me nationally.

By the way, I know a lot of people stream television now, whether it's through YouTube TV, Hulu. If you have slang, price is going up. This one let you all know.

Do you? Okay. So they have there's a sling orange and a sling of blue package. So there's some different channels that are on each. There's some crossover there, but it's 40 bucks now a month for slang. But you can get or you can get the combined package. It's 55 bucks a month.

But that's what do I get with slang? Well, there's also some add-ons and stuff with it. I can't remember all the specifics with it. But like the orange one is generally the one that has sports because you get ESPN, ESPN two. Motor Tram, well, Microsoft, I'm sorry, not Microsoft.

Goodness. Sling blue has FS1, NFL Network and USA. So they split some of those things a little bit.

That way people might try and buy and combine. But you still have to pay things extra for like SEC Network, ACC Network, NFL Red Zone, FS2, those kinds of things. So eventually it ends up costing you just as much as YouTube TV.

Where you already get those things? Yeah, just get YouTube TV. It's all good.

But anyway, I know a lot of people out there enjoy streaming and that's where things are going these days. All right, so back to this 911 thing. OK, so this is this happened at Clyde Cooper's barbecue, which is in downtown Raleigh on Wilmington Street. Mm hmm. So a customer on Google left the review names, Annie. That's Annie is the name of the customer that left this review, or at least that's what we think. It's right. But that's the name that she used.

This is a verbatim, what she wrote for her review of Clyde Cooper's. Worst customer service I ever had in my life. Barbecue was very pink and had lots of fat in it.

We'll get into that in a sec. Tried to go back and tell them I either want my money back or something else they were and they were or something else they refused to do either. After I called the cops up there, they gave me one piece of chicken in a bag and say keep the plate.

Cops said I had to file a civil suit with the courts, worst food ever. She's not even melted on the mac and cheese. And she actually posted a picture of as well. OK, two things on that. Barbecue is very pink.

Well, when you smoke barbecue, it has a pinkish color to it. I guess she didn't know that. I guess. I guess. I think that's a safe assumption.

That's a very, very safe assumption. Well, guess what? Clyde Cooper's barbecue responded on Google to Annie.

It's extremely laughable and sad. You think this is an issue to call the cops over. You took a cop's time that may have may have needed to be on an important call to complain because the barbecue was smoked pink. Furthermore, you were given chicken to replace your barbecue and told you could keep the perfectly good barbecue you thought was raw because you are so ignorant to the fact that barbecue turns pink when smoked and you wouldn't listen to us trying to explain that to you. You were given that chicken before you left and then you called the cops. Sad, sad, sad.

I don't think that Clyde Cooper needed to go hard in the paint on there. Probably not. But nevertheless, we have this, the 911 call.

This is November 1st, 2022, 12 powers, 54 minutes, 26 seconds. 911, what's the address of the emergency? Yes, can I get an office check?

Clyde Cooper in barbecue. Tell me exactly what happened. Yes, I had ordered some food from there and the barbecue was pink and I asked for either for them to cook it some more or exchange my order and they're saying that the meat is supposed to be pink and I asked for them to change my order so they said that they're not giving my money back or they're not going to trade out the food. And there's no sign where it says that they don't trade out food or anything, no returns or anything like that. So I asked them, do they have a sign where it says there's no return or anything? Okay.

Now, for a disclaimer. Does any restaurant have a sign that says we will not change out food? I don't think so, no. Posted anywhere? No, I don't think so. No, I'm just curious.

Is that a sign that can be had somewhere? Now, small disclaimer, I did trim down this because there's multiple long pauses and she did repeat the name of the restaurant multiple times, just something we didn't really need to hear. Plus, she also gave a description because she was standing outside of what she was wearing. Again, stuff we didn't need to hear.

But pun intended, that's the meat of the conversation there. Why? Why are you calling the cops in this situation?

I just don't get it. I want to know the person who took the 911 call. Is that person going, can we arrest this woman? Yeah. Why is she bothering us at a 911 call? Yeah.

Because she's having a dispute with a restaurant. I mean, isn't that kind of a felony? I don't know if that's a felony. That I don't know. Should be a felony.

It's a waste of time, that's for sure. Wasting the time of 911 should be a felony. Yeah. It's an emergency. Yeah.

But yeah, she called the cops nevertheless. Now, as someone who's a transplant to the state of North Carolina, and this is actually one of the things that Chris and I actually really lean into here on our show, Culture State. Right. Is because I represent the transplants in the state in the show. Chris is a born and raised North Carolina.

Right. I have taken the time in my tenure in the state of North Carolina to learn about these things in North Carolina about barbecue. Because the Virginia, there's no Virginia barbecue. Now, understand- What was the Virginia food other than peanuts? Oh, it's ham. Oh, Virginia ham. Virginia ham. Oh, he's interesting. Oh, it's ham.

Okay. Now, in different parts of the country, barbecue means different things. So, if you're in Kansas City, we can hear barbecue. It's different than St. Louis, Texas.

So, it means different things in different places. Now, where we are in the Eastern part of North Carolina and Raleigh, Eastern style North Carolina barbecue, when you smoke it that pulled pork, it has that pinkish color, something that I learned. Lexington style has a little bit different, obviously, than Eastern style. Then they have that garbage that they call South Carolina barbecue. Wow.

That mustard based stuff. But nevertheless, these are things that if you move to the state of North Carolina, you should have learned the culture of the state and learned these things. That's just my opinion on this. If you're going to move into a state, learn about it. When I went to Wisconsin, when I lived there for a short bit, I tried to learn as much about the area I lived as I could, because guess what? I'm living there. Maybe this person is not from North Carolina. I don't know.

But nevertheless, the plate of food that she took the picture of, looks delicious. Very nice. So, there's that.

There's your halftime entertainment tonight. Again, I need some clarification from somebody. I need a police officer who's listening. Tell me what the penalty is. What is the crime for wasting 911's time complaining about your food at a restaurant? Because it should be a crime.

What level of crime it is, I don't know. But it should be a crime. I would argue that's way worse than calling a charge and pick up basketball. Probably.

And that's a crime too. So, Kyrie Irving was suspended for at least five games by the Brooklyn Nets yesterday for failing to apologize sufficiently for... And the apology doesn't even matter at this point. Because I don't believe it's a lack of an apology that Kyrie gets suspended for. It's not that. For those people who are not aware of the story, we're going to keep this very, very quick because it's a Friday and we don't need to burden anybody with any heavy thinking. Kyrie Irving tweeted out a link and he put on Instagram a link to a book that was also produced into a movie called Hebrews to Negroes. And the book slash movie contains... And I'm not even going to pretend that I read the book or watched the movie. But I have read the columns of several people who have. So, contained within the book slash movie are several anti-Semitic tropes.

Don't have to get into them. This is not the form for it. I mean, that's just what it is. And when you put that on your social media account, when you link to it, you can say all day long that you're not promoting it, but you are promoting it.

You are absolutely saying, watch this. You are providing the link. Kyrie got... The Nets gave him two opportunities. One at a press conference when it first happened, which the famous back and forth between Nick Friedel, the ESPN basketball reporter, went back and forth about, why did you promote this?

I didn't promote it. And then Kyrie with the word Sal and all of that. That didn't solve anything. And then two days ago, he was asked point blank.

People just want to know, do you have anti-Semitic views? And he couldn't bring himself to say no. No apology is going to erase that. And after the fact, after he was suspended by the Nets for at least five games, and after the commissioner of the NBA, Adam Silver, essentially said, oh, we're going to talk.

He and Kyrie. And if Kyrie can't bring himself to understand that he was wrong, he's never going to do it. And he is doing so now simply to make this go away. The answer to this simply for Kyrie is, I apologize for being stubborn.

I apologize for refusing. He's all about open-mindedness. But he is refusing to understand how the majority of people take those words, which to me is closed-minded. And I said the other day, it doesn't matter if Kyrie is right or not. You have to understand how everybody else views this.

So you didn't have to put it on social media. And when you were called out about it, you could have said something other than whatever it was that he said that made no sense. And don't be defiant because that is not the way out of your situation. I don't know what the solution is for the Nets. I think the solution is to move on from Kyrie and understand that you're in Brooklyn as a bad place to espouse anything that could remotely be construed as anti-Semitic. That is a bad spot to be in.

That is business for your franchise. Kevin Durant doesn't help matters today at Shootaround. I ain't here to judge nobody or talk down to nobody for how they feel their view or anything. I just didn't like anything that went on. I feel like it was all unnecessary.

I felt like we could have just kept playing basketball and kept quiet as an organization. I don't like none of it. No. No, man. You can't do that. Not in matters like this. You can't just ignore it.

No. I think Kevin Durant is much smarter than this. I understand it disrupts what is most important to him and that's basketball. But sometimes life disrupts.

That's what life does from time to time. And it's time to be a grown man and accept the fact that your guy is hurting your franchise two years in a row. At some point, Kyrie Irving has to stop being coddled. He has to be told, you know what? You are hurting us. And until something like that happens with Kyrie, he's just going to do it again.

Because he doesn't care. All right. Let's place bets. Place your bets. Place your bets.

Here we are. I bet you slice into the woods a hundred bucks. Gambling is illegal at Bushwood, sir, and I never slice. Okay, you can owe me. I owe you nothing. I don't like anything on the board. Nothing? Nothing.

I don't like anything on the board. I did win the Eagles. Actually, I had the Texans plus the points and the over yesterday, which cashed. So at least I got that.

I lost everything else I did yesterday, but at least I had that. So where are you going? I was plus for the night, but just barely. Okay. Give me Tennessee over Georgia plus 245.

Tennessee plus 245 in Athens. Yep. I love it. All right. Let's do a four team ACC football parlay.

Do it. Give me the Tar Heels in Virginia. Give me Duke at Boston College. All right.

Give me Wake Forest at NC State and Clemson at Notre Dame plus 305. Okay. I'm going to put together a massive NFL parlay here for you.

I'm talking big time parlay. Okay. Like five teams. Okay, let's hear it. Five games.

Actually, you know what? Let's make it six. Ooh, go crazy. Bills over jets, all money line. Bills over jets, dolphins over bears, Vikings over commanders, Bengals over Panthers, Packers over the Lions, Raiders over the Jags plus 930. The Raiders are going to win? Yeah.

Okay. It's Jacksonville. It's the Raiders. Have you been watching the Raiders? That's a fair point. It's weird because you look some of their offensive numbers and they're like in the top 10 in the NFL and some offensive numbers.

It's weird. Learning how to win. Not easy. All right. You see, I agree. I think the Bills are going to beat the Jets.

I think that's going to be a competitive game. I'll take the Jets plus 11. Okay.

And under 46 in New Jersey at plus 255. Really? Yeah.

Okay. Jets defense is very good. Buffalo's defense is very good. Jets offense is trash. Buffalo's offense is not, but the Jets defense is very good. And 11 and a half points on the road is a lot. I think the Bills win this game like 17-13. Okay.

I'll take your word on it. Give me Brighton over Wolves and Leeds over Bournemouth. Plus 300. Can Leeds win twice in a row? They're actually a minus 135. They are. Bournemouth's not good.

Leeds has actually played much better than their record and they played beautifully at Anfield in beating Liverpool. Are you trying to bait me into doing a Premier League parlay? I would never. Are you trying to do that?

I would never. Are you trying to tell me to say Villa, Aston Villa at home over Man U and Newcastle on the road at Southampton at plus 565? Are you trying to get me to do that? Do it. I might have just done that. Okay. I might have just done that. I also like, I like Nottingham Forest and Everton to also win this week, but I can't do everything. We can't have everything.

No, you can't. All right. So we'll just do Villa and Newcastle. Newcastle is fun to watch. They are really good. This is the Adam Gold Show.
