The wall of sound is a function of this studio. There's no doubt about it. Let's start off in the NFL and not about last night. We've talked last night was especially in the second half was a little anticlimactic and I just can't get on board with blaming Mitch Trubisky for anything that happened.

Mitch played a really good first half and he wasn't great in second half, but Steelers also weren't either. So let's talk about the biggest game of the weekend in the NFL and it's not Packers at Bucks. The biggest game in the weekend in the NFL is Bills at Dolphins. There are some that will tell you that the Miami Dolphins are legit and I can't tell you that they're not. And I'm not even saying that we'll find out tomorrow or Sunday because Miami could win that game and still not be for real. Ryan Clark of ESPN.

Thoughts? I think there are teams somewhere in between there. I don't believe there are defense that is that bad that you're going to give up thirty five points in three quarters weekly or that's something that's going to become the norm. I also don't necessarily know that there are the four touchdowns in the fourth quarter type of team with the two long bombs against broken coverage to Tyreek Hill. And so when you look at this team, this is the week, right? This is the true litmus test of who you are. You're playing against the Buffalo Bills who will be banged up at the corner position who won't be at full strength.

This is a chance that if you're to a tongue of our Lord to say you've arrived. Yeah, I don't know that anything is a we were here. We're not. I think it's probably wise to just think that I think the Dolphins are good.

We don't know how good they are, but I also don't think you could say, well, what we saw for two weeks is a mirage. The Patriots aren't good. Dolphins won that game.

OK, end of story. The Ravens were killing them. And I'm sure maybe thought they had the game one. And it doesn't take that much in the NFL to just kind of flip it. And all of a sudden you're trying to get it back, which is what Baltimore was trying to do.

And Miami was on a little bit of a roll. And Baltimore secondary is Swiss cheese anyway. So I'm not even sure what to make it like we talked about the Jets and the Browns. I ain't given the Jets that much credit for it. Now, I mean, to me, that was the Browns losing the game more than the Jets winning the game. I kind of think it was similar, but more credit to the Dolphins because Baltimore didn't hand it to them much like Cleveland handed it to the Jets.

All right. So it's just sticking with the game. Rob Nikovich from ESPN, who used to play with the Patriots on how Buffalo needs to approach this game. Listen, when you're playing a receiver that runs a four to flat 40, you know, as a safety, whatever I do, I got to keep it in front of me. I cannot let him get behind the defense because those are easy plays when you run past the defense and nobody's paying attention to a guy that's that fast. The quarterback just throws it as far as he possibly can.

And those are easy. But you can't let the Miami Dolphins have easy access. The Buffalo Bills understand. Week one, all eyes were on us. We had to go out there, set the tone early, put the whole league on notice. This is another game. It's even more important because it's in division.

So I don't think that they're going to be caught sleeping or slipping. They're going to go out there, set the tone, and they're going to make sure that Tua doesn't have easy access down the field to Tyreek Hill. You can say all those things that you want. Tyreek Hill, different being. Yeah. Tyreek Hill doesn't have to get all the way down the field.

Nope. I've watched. Tyreek Hill doesn't have to get down the field. He will, but he doesn't have to. He is that. He is that real.

All right. Keyshawn Johnson. Everyone's going to find out what Keyshawn thinks about the Panthers and who they're playing.

I think he picks the visiting team. I think when you look at the situation, division rivals to a degree, the Saints with Baker Mayfield. The defense of the Panthers, the defense of the New Orleans Saints is a solid and sound defense. OK, there was one or two plays against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that they gave up, that the Bucks were able to capitalize on. But for the most part, I think New Orleans wins this football game. And I do believe that Jamis will be healthy enough to go in and take care of business. It's a couple of weeks removed from the start of the season. You get into your rhythm, you get going and they have the better football team. Who should I start a quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo or Jamis Winston, Victoria?

Garoppolo. I should? Sure, why not? Maybe. I don't know. I don't have any good options there. Yeah. Really, that's unfortunate.

That's what happens when you draft Trey Lance and he breaks his ankle. Yeah. Like, oh well.

Again, I don't have great options. Thanks, fantasy football. Yeah, I don't care.

I haven't really stressed over it. I don't think I had anybody playing last night, but I'm not 100% sure at the same time. All right, so Saints better than the Panthers.

Keyshawn's going with the Saints. All right, let's hear from the governor of the Boston Celtics, Wick Grousebeck. So for those people who don't know, the Celtics suspended their head coach, Imeo Doka, for one year. And yesterday it was termed as for a consensual intimate relationship with another member of the Boston Celtics organization. They call it staff. And that's against company policy.

Suspended him for a year. Obviously, there's more to it. And today they kind of said multiple violations of the policy. So the governor, Wick Grousebeck of the Boston Celtics, started a press conference today off in this way.

I can say a few things, and I have a few bullet points to add, and then Brad will have some words. I can say that we, as soon as we learned there was a potential situation, we immediately brought in a respected law firm to conduct a thorough investigation, an impartial investigation. And they took some time. And we actually concluded that investigation with a report two days ago.

So that's the reason for the timing here. There were leaks, by the way, around that time. Obviously, we would have nothing to do with that and nothing to gain from that in any insinuation about the leaks.

We don't know where they come from. They're part of the NBA, as we all know, in this room. But it's really unfortunate. And it's unfortunate also that female staff members of the Celtics have been dragged into the public eye unwillingly and inappropriately. And we take a strong stand against that and just regret it for them. It's really, really unfortunate and not necessary. I won't be referring to anybody else who might be involved here again for privacy reasons and not going to get into the details of the conduct at issue. All right.

The thing he referred to is that there were people and look, I understand it, but it's still appalling. Adam Gold in studio with my friend Coach Pete DeRuta with the Capital Financial Advisory Group. We are talking retirement. Coach, how does longevity risk figure into our retirement and income plan?

This is the best of times and the worst of times, Adam. Longevity risk means we're going to live too long. But to me, every day I live is not too long. Right.

Absolutely. So we want our money to outlive us. And unfortunately, many people I've seen, you out there listening, maybe one of them, your money is not designed to outlive you. You might outlive your money and that's not what we want to have happen because when we get to that day after you run out of money, it's not going to be a fun time. So let's design a plan that guarantees you'll never run out of money. We call it the GPI plan, Growth Protection Lifetime Income, for the next 10 people. This is a golden ticket, Adam. A thousand-dollar value, we're going to do it at no cost or obligation. And all you have to do is call. We make it so easy.

Would you like financial independence into your retirement and beyond it? 800-661-7383, that golden ticket is a $1,000 value, or you can text Adam to 21000 for Coach Pete DeRuda. People in their desire to uncover who the woman was, like, not randomly, but, oh, it must be her. So they posted her picture, right? Wow.

You can't, first of all, those people have exposed themselves to a legal problem. Yes. I don't know if it's to the point where they're in real trouble, but you can make an argument that just the association, even if without any evidence, obviously, even the association puts you at a little bit of danger. That's slander. But it is, yeah, well, that's what they're talking about.

Yeah. But, man, what an unbelievably damaging thing to do to another person. Without getting into the issue, it's pretty clear that there's more to the story than a consensual, intimate relationship. There's more to that story right there.

They also did not guarantee that Emmaa Doka will be the head coach next year for the Boston Celtics. This is a developing situation, as they say. Speaking of developing situation, when we come back, Josh Graham, sports hub triad, B Dot, who is the official sixth man, I think the official sixth man of Carolina basketball, late night with Hubert next week. He'll be there.

We'll probably talk a little hoops next. My 14-year-old is very much into rap and hip-hop. Oh, yeah? And I have no problem with it, but I would have, I would be, I would hugely embrace it if I could convince them that OutKast was better than anything they're listening to now.

I love OutKast, yes. I'm with you. Makes me angry. Yeah.

I mean, Tribe? Yeah. Give me some of that.

Like, Jack, just go down my playlist. Right. Learn from what? Never mind. Never mind. I sound old.

I sound, I sound old and hopeless, and I need, I need help. It's time for the round table. Camelot. Camelot.

It's only a model. Shit. I'm so looking forward to this today. I'm going to introduce B Dot first, because he's the first person I really thought of to do this round table.

I kid Josh, because he's easy to kid. B Dot is the official sixth man of Carolina basketball. Reno's late night with Hubert Davis is next week. He will be there. He has 46 other jobs.

I don't even know all their, all his titles. So I welcome B Dot to the program, and Josh Graham, Sports Hub Triad. And I appreciate your time at Josh Graham Radio. Was I wrong? Do I sound, do I sound old and hopeless?

You sound just like me. I'm telling you, man, OutKast, like, that's the standard. As a matter of fact, on Graham School, Grammar School this past week, I asked Josh Graham a question. Josh, who said the South has something to say back at the Vibe Awards in 1995? Yeah, it was not Master P. He doesn't remember.

He doesn't remember. Andre Freestat, OutKast. But no, man, I'm with you.

OutKast, they're definitely Mount Rushmore of hip hop. I just, I just don't want to sound as old and out of touch as I know I am. All right, I'm going to start.

I'm going to start with you with this, Josh, but I want your thoughts on this as well, B Dot. Give me a characterization of what tomorrow means for the Tar Heels when they host Notre Dame. Tomorrow means, hey, North Carolina, are you a team that actually can win the Coastal Division? They haven't played an ACC game yet. Their next one is against a team that got blown out at home by West Virginia last night. So I think tomorrow means is North Carolina going to start the season 5 and 0? And I really like their chances to do so, considering how they match up offensively. Notre Dame, obviously, their strength is on the defensive side of the ball now that they have a backup quarterback in and they haven't been putting up numbers. I'm optimistic about what Carolina can do on both sides. I think now that they've had a bye week to reevaluate things a little bit. You have four and five star talent on that side of the ball. And G Chiswick proved in 2015 that he can rebuild a team that has difficulty tackling from the year before. I think North Carolina starts to take a turn with the talent that they have.

And it doesn't hurt that you're playing a team that has a backup quarterback that hasn't demonstrated any ability to move the ball. What do you think, beat up? Sadly, A.G., I can't hear anything that Josh is.

Well, maybe, I don't know, maybe you're lucky. So I'll just ask you the question. What does what does what does this game mean for North Carolina?

Again, this is crazy. Without hearing anything Josh said, I hope I don't repeat him. I hope you do.

That would be great. It's going to be huge. I think it's a big game for us. Notre Dame is a brand, a national brand. They got movies about Notre Dame for peace sake. And this Carolina team, you know, we've beaten teams like Georgia State, FAMU and who else?

App State, of course. But this is going to be the first P5 opponent. This is going to be the first time we really get to see what this team is made of on the on the grand scheme of things with teams that could possibly make the playoffs. Not necessarily this year, seeing that it's a sort of a down year for Notre Dame.

They're one and two that aren't full strength. But the reality is, Carolina is like one in 20 against Notre Dame all-time. The fact of the matter is, if Carolina wins this game, they'll be 4-0 for the first time since 1997, back when OutKast was hot. So with that being said, I think it's a very important game.

And I think that the Tar Heels is not a must-win, but it's a should-win game if Carolina wants to be respected on football. It was the last Matt Brown year, right? Before we left for Texas. Exactly. All right, Josh, jump in here before I give you... I think B-dot actually has the right answer. I just need a ruling whether or not Notre Dame counts as a P5.

I was thinking about this yesterday. Oh, stop. You know, they're not in the conference.

We all know they're a P5. Here's the thing. It's a big game. And it's a big game because it's called Notre Dame. That school is called Notre Dame.

That's what makes it a big game. Nobody is going to care if Notre Dame ends up at 5-7. Nobody cares when State beat them in the Monsoon. Notre Dame was 4-8. That was a trash Notre Dame team.

Nobody cares. Duke went to Notre Dame and scored 55 in a win over the Irish. Nobody cares if that Notre Dame team wasn't that good. So North Carolina has to demonstrate because this is going to have a big game atmosphere and an environment and a feel to it. They have to demonstrate that they can win that game. And it's not a game against a rivalry game against State or the one they didn't steal. They won. They survived against App. This is a legitimate national game that I think it's time that the Tar Heels start winning it.

I want to go away from football for a second. The City of Charlotte beat that, which is I believe where you call them now. Absolutely. They got some pretty big news in that they are now the true home, the headquarters HQ of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Is that significant in any way? Off of the crossbar and the Hurricanes have won the Stanley Cup. June 19th, 2006, but it all started May 6, 1997, with the announcement that the Hartford Whalers were coming to North Carolina.

It's a story of transition, of heartbreak, of figuring it out on the fly. The Canes Corner look at the 25th anniversary of the move presented by the Aluminum Company of North Carolina. Listen now. Find Canes 25th anniversary wherever you get your podcast. It's not that big a deal.

It's really not. The headquarters, that's where the shirts and ties go. As long as in the next 10, 15 years we still have two or three more ACC tournaments in Greensboro, all is well. That revenue and that money is still coming back to the city. Being someone who grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, I am one of the children who sat in the classroom and remembers the ACC tournament canceling classes.

I am that child. I never knew where the headquarters for the ACC tournament was, nor did I ever care. I really think it's more of a show of strength as far as moving to a bigger city. I do understand how it does affect Greensboro being able to say they are the home, but I honestly do not think it's that big a deal, A.G. Josh? It's a slight to Greensboro. However, however you care to look at it, symbolism actually does matter.

It does. So when I hear people say, why do you care where the headquarters is in any of these things? A.G., B.Dot, all you guys, Victoria, if she's saying it's that she's from the Triad too, anybody who has spoken to people in the Triad and knows these folks understand what their identity as the home of the ACC represents. Greensboro is the ACC. The ACC is Greensboro.

You said it yourself. They didn't have to do this. So the fact that they did and they're trying to tell us it's for business opportunities, as if the Southeastern Conference is hurting by not going to Atlanta and instead staying in Birmingham, and we just saw the Pac-12 decide, oh, we're going to go to San Francisco to be next to these corporate sponsors, as if they're going to buy Oregon State football all of a sudden, it's a slap in the face, and it's them losing sight of what their roots are and who actually gives a damn about them at the end of the day. And it's not Charlotte. I just talked to the mayor earlier today, and she told me they were going to give the ACC the naming rights to the Greensboro Coliseum. They were going to name it the ACC Coliseum. You think they were going to do that in Charlotte or in Orlando?

Of course not. It's not about who cares more. Why didn't they just sell the naming rights then? Why didn't they just sell the naming rights to the Greensboro Coliseum? The right answer, and again, two for two B dot, the right answer is it doesn't matter where the conference's headquarters are. I've been saying, first of all, the Pac-12 doesn't even have headquarters anymore. They got rid of their high-rise deluxe apartment in the sky in San Francisco. I said this to Jim Phillips.

He laughed, but I think he thought about it. Just get a giant tricked-out RV, get a Madden Cruiser, drive around the league, that could be your headquarters every day. Wherever Jim Phillips wakes up, that's where the headquarters is. It doesn't matter.

But if it doesn't matter, if it doesn't matter, then why did they do it? Because they wanted to go to a bigger city that has more amenities because at some level you are bringing future clients to your office, even though most of these things happen off-site. Look, no offense to Greensboro, I like Greensboro. It's adorable, but it's not Charlotte. Charlotte's a bigger, better city than Greensboro. I am from Greensboro, and I have moved to Charlotte.

There are a lot of resources here. It's growing. I understand that Greensboro is doing something the same.

However, it's called the Queen City because it is larger than the actual capital city. These are the facts, so of course it's going to be bigger. I think it's a big move, and I think it's sort of cool for the ACC. Again, as long as the ACC can keep the ACC tournament here every so often, I think that's more of a conversation to have versus the ACC corporate offices moving up the road. I just can't wait to be on a rooftop bar explaining to people that the ACC tournament is in town again, like I do every time. Who cares? The ACC tournament's in Charlotte. Who cares?

No, exactly. But who cares? No one in Charlotte cares.

No one in Charlotte cares when the tournament is there. So what? He's so passionate about this.

It's hilarious. So what? When the tournament is in Charlotte or the tournament is in Washington, I don't care if some guy at a candy store knows whether or not the ACC tournament is here. It doesn't make the tournament any better. Let's all understand this. It does make the tournament better.

I'm giving you an extra, you are right again, when you responded to me when we were going to talk about this, you're just trying to rile Josh up and you are 100% correct on that. 3-0 for BDOT. Because here's the thing, the tournament is no longer about basketball. It just has nothing to do with basketball anymore. The tournament is about entertaining clients and doing business and a better place to entertain clients. By the way, the tournament is never going to completely ignore Greensboro.

It's going to go back on important anniversaries and round numbers. But a better place to do business is Charlotte, is Washington. I don't think Brooklyn is a better place.

I wouldn't go to Brooklyn anymore. But Charlotte and Washington, we're good. We don't have to go anywhere else, go to Greensboro when we need to.

Charlotte and Washington, more than enough. I mean, that's me. That's me. We are not in disagreement on that. But you're making it sound like that's the way that it should be.

Yes. When instead, like if we're going to go back to the 90s. That is the way it should be. If we're going to call back to the 90s again, one of the worst things that you could be calling to the 90s, like there was like 10 movies about this, Reality Bites comes to mind, is to be called a sellout. You're saying that the ACC has sold out. And that, alright, well we should just accept it rather than calling it what it is, saying that the ACC tournament should be about basketball rather than trying to entertain clients. Like why are we accepting that and not calling it what it is, which is selling out?

That's not selling out, that's the reality. It's not just the ACC. All of the major tournaments are not about basketball. They're all about getting money from clients.

All of them. Every single, the only tournaments that are about basketball are like the Northeast Conference. Whatever league St. Peter's plays in, that's about basketball and getting into the NCAA tournament. Let me do a couple more football, at least one more football thing here. I can finally hear Josh. Oh, good. I just wanted to put that out there.

I'm sorry to hear that. Alright, so, real quick on this, Josh, can Wake, with the better coach and the better quarterback, beat Clemson? Can they? Yes. Will they?

Absolutely not. You're talking about, the stats are just staggering. Sixty-two consecutive times since 1948, Wake Forest has played a top ten team and lost. And when you play Clemson, they've lost every single time since Tommy Bowden's last game before he resigned.

And some guy named Dabo took over to become the interim coach and then had that tag removed and the rest was history. Dave Plassen is, you know, he's lost by an average point, an average margin of 28 a game. He's lost by 38 a game the last four. It's going to be tighter than that. West Goodwin, as the new D.C., facing a legit offense for the first time this year.

But it just seems like the matchup's too much to overcome. I don't think Wake's going to be able to run the ball enough with that mesh point. I think Clemson wins a tight game.

P. Dot? I don't know what happened. I heard Josh Forsythe. He likes Clemson. Actually, he likes Wake to blow Clemson out.

People listening on the radio, that's not what Josh said. Wake or Clemson? I'm going to take Clemson, but the answer to your question is yes. Wake Forest can most definitely beat Clemson.

Clemson has a very stout defense, but they haven't shown me anything offensively at all. And I feel like Wake Forest, they're going to be playing with a lot of emotion. Sam Hartman is back, correct?

Yes. With Sam Hartman being back, I think that's the piece they need to sort of catapult this team. I think there are going to be a couple wrinkles in the offense that the defense for Clemson isn't quite going to be prepared for.

I know that Clemson, again, they have a very strong defense, but all it takes is one missed assignment here, one missed wrap-up tackle there, and somebody's gone for six. So, can Wake Forest beat Clemson tomorrow? I think they absolutely can. Will they? I would not put my money on it.

No, I would not. I like the Tigers in a low-scoring game, like 23-20 Clemson on the road. All right, final thing.

Should we hide our eyes, B. Dot, when the Panthers host the Saints tomorrow? No, Sunday. Not tomorrow. At this point, I think Bishop Sycamore could beat the Panthers. They just don't have an identity.

They don't have a direction. The coaching seems to be more flustered than Baker Mayfield, their quarterback. I know Matt Ruhle is saying every single day they wanted to know if he's still the head coach. I just saw on Twitter a second ago that somebody said they had some facts that Matt Ruhle was messing with a female on the staff. Oh, gosh. It's not true.

That's the type of humorous things that people are saying. Listen, the Panthers, in my opinion, I thought coming into the season they were the second-best team in the NFC South. I thought they were going to be second right there behind Tampa Bay. I felt like they had enough weapons offensively for Baker Mayfield to get the ball to the CMC if he's healthy.

Robbie and DJ, I thought the defense was extremely stout, had a bunch of good names and a bunch of athleticism on that side of the ball. However, it isn't seeming to all gel together, and you can only say it's got to be coaching. But I don't see the Panthers getting a win against the Saints. I don't even know why, because the Saints aren't a much better team, but the Panthers are just so messed up as far as scheme and just play. I saw a stat that said that they're like one in forever if they score less than 17 points or something.

That's horrible. You can't win games like that. You've got to be able to air it out and throw the ball, and they just don't have a scheme that shows that. One last thing, I just saw a post on social media that said every time Christian McCaffrey is a yard behind Baker Mayfield in the backfield, it's a guaranteed run play.

I should not be able to see that on Twitter. Dan Orlovsky definitely poisoned the water for Matt Ruhle. Josh, I know we have to watch. Are you excited about it? Dan Orlovsky gaslighting people on ESPN.

For years he's been doing this anyway. Putting that aside, the Panthers, they're due a decisive win. Decisive? Decisive.

Double digits. Carolina over New Orleans on Sunday. I felt the first game, Matt Ruhle was responsible for that loss. They were not adequately ready to play. That's on coaching. But that last week was not on Matt Ruhle. People making it that it's Matt Ruhle's fault that guys are putting it on the field. Teaching guys in the NFL ball security is like teaching a college student how to read. It's not something you should be doing at this stage. I can't believe you're still riding from Matt Ruhle.

I can always count on you. I felt at the end of the game, punting the ball before the two minute warning was smart. I felt getting Matt Ioannidis to jump offsides intentionally, situationally gave him a shot on third down at the end.

That was not on Matt Ruhle. This game here, I think Carolina, they haven't forced a turnover on defense. All the good things we said about the defense, they haven't forced the turnover.

Jameis Winston is the perfect recipe to that, who's thrown through three picks last week. They had five turnovers in their last game. Carolina could be 2-0. I feel confident that New Orleans should be 0-2. They were down two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to Atlanta. Shocker, Atlanta blew a lead. But the defense is set up to eat. I think the urgency is going to be there for Carolina.

I think they win this game decisive. They may, but I just want to say as we say goodbye, it is endearing how much you ride from Matt Ruhle. Listen, I told my wife, I don't want to ride from me like Joshua rides from Matt Ruhle, baby. I'm not even criticizing it.

I think it's adorable how much you ride from Ruhle. Look, here's the thing is, I agree with you that there's nothing you can point to other than actually saying out loud after the opener. That he didn't think that a team could go 40 yards in a minute and a quarter without a timeout. Which of course is one of the dumbest things a head coach in the National Football League could say ever out loud. Whether he believed it or not at the time, I don't even care.

He said it out loud. But I agree, I didn't think he did anything terrible in that game to lose the game. I didn't think he did anything terrible in the game against Giants to lose the game. I just think that the game moves too fast for Matt Ruhle as the head coach. And it just seems like everybody's made up their mind.

I made up my mind after one year. I bet everybody after two years said that Zach Taylor, who only won six games his first two years. Oh yeah, that guy's just not going to get it done in Cincinnati.

And all of a sudden he's in the Super Bowl. I'm not saying Matt Ruhle's going to be a great coach. I'm saying this year, by the end of the season, we're going to figure it out. I would point out Josh, that the Bengals right now are 0-2.

I would point that out. And I think that it's a fair wonder if Zach Taylor really is that guy. Last year, get hot, go to a Super Bowl.

Or if they're just basically a 500 team with an incredible quarterback. Josh Graham, at Josh Graham Radio, awesome stuff. He'll be hosting Late Night with, I almost said Roy Williams, with Hubert Davis tomorrow. Live action! Live action with Hubert Davis.

I don't know what the name of anything is. I'm still listening to OutKast. Gentlemen, thank you so much. I appreciate it. It was a blast.

Thank you, for sure. This is the Adam Gold Show. Off of the crossbar! And the Hurricanes have won the Stanley Cup! June 19th, 2006.
