Shirley Weaver wants to take you there. And now here's today's episode. I don't know if you've ever had this happen to you, but there are times when individuals in my life actually place a demand on the gift of God that is on the inside of me. I realize when that is taking place. And besides being very humbling, it also is an opportunity to glorify God who is the source of the gift after all. And in that regard, I think that the encouragement that we need sometimes is that that is so of the Lord, so biblically based and such a way, such an opportunity to build the kingdom of God here on the earth.

I shared in a recent podcast, actually I think it's the most recent one, the title was To the Church, God's Tip of the Spear. I shared an experience that I had in bringing that message to a congregation near where I live that actually the invitation to speak was such that I didn't really know that I had a message. I didn't think I had a message.

I wouldn't have even presumed such a thing. But because someone saw and believed that the Lord had given me a word that was important for a group of people, in this case the pastor of the congregation, my terminology, I don't know what you would say, but my terminology is he really placed a demand on something that the Lord does frequently. It's not unusual for God to give me a word, something to say.

What was unusual is that the invitation was for Sunday morning and I received the invitation on Wednesday afternoon. And so with that being the case, you really have to honestly think whether it would be presumptuous to believe you could possibly bring something of value, something meaningful, something from the Lord. We talk about the spiritual deposit of God on the inside of believers, the supernatural aspect that that really represents. Here is an instance of the way that God moves to say we can have bold confidence in Him.

You need bold confidence in God like I needed bold confidence in Him to believe for a supernatural outcome. You know there's great responsibility in speaking for the Lord, I believe, and on His behalf and you and I both share that responsibility because each of us is called to do exactly that. We have this deposit of the Holy Spirit on the inside of us. It's a wealth really and He confirms His word through us with signs following.

That is His plan and the way that He has laid it out. So again it wasn't unusual to be asked to speak. What was unusual was the timing and you might even say the time limitation and very quickly as I prayed I realized that something definitely was up, that God did have something He wanted to say that I would not have realized if this pastor, this wonderful spiritual man, this leader of a congregation did not realize that the word was inside of me. He merely said I am inviting you to bring that word. See I was just the talking head. I was just the one God was speaking through and I hope you're getting this point today. He wants to speak through you.

He wants to move through you. We pray for miracles, signs, wonders. This is that.

This is that. This is the moving of God's Spirit. The way that He does it is through is through His people and that is just one example that my experience is only one example. Biblically speaking in the Bible individuals received their miracles, they received deliverance, all kinds of breakthrough and healing because here's that expression again, they placed a demand on who they believed Jesus to be. They believed that He was sent from God.

On some level they believed that He was the Messiah of Israel although that was a progressive revelation but bottom line they believed this was God's messenger on some level. Following that example, the example of Jesus and the pattern that He laid out, every believer carries a God-given anointing that is consistent with supernatural outcomes, let me say that again, supernatural outcomes that include a manifestation of God's power for what is needed at any given time. You and I place a demand when we recognize God's presence in the life operating through the life of the person that is near us and we ask and we believe God to minister to us through them.

Again, certainly it is not the person that we place the demand on, it is God within that person and the result is He gives divine interventions, supernatural outcomes. The result that I'm talking here really explains John 14 12 where Jesus said, truly I say to you whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do and greater works than these will that person do because I am going to the Father and of course what he meant, he was sending his Holy Spirit to live within me, within you, within each believer and he said whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do and greater works will you do if you believe in me because I'm going to the Father and I am sending my Holy Spirit to be in you, to be a manifestation of my ministry here on earth even though I go to the Father. So Jesus' ministry and so many, I mean gosh there's just so many examples, there are two that are primary, definitely Jairus who was convinced that his daughter would be healed if Jesus laid his hands on her and in Mark 5 verse 23 we read, my little daughter lies at the point of death, come and lay your hands on her that she may be healed and she will live. You see that?

You see that? You see Jairus was placing a demand on who he believed and knew Jesus to be, that the laying on of hands by Jesus on this little daughter lying at the point of death would deliver her from death to life. The second example of Jesus' ministry that comes to mind is the woman with the issue of blood who placed a demand on who she believed Jesus was by touching the hem of his garment and if you know Jewish history you know that the tallit that he wore, the Jewish prayer shawl, had a fringe, includes a fringe that would be the hem, she would touch the hem of that prayer shawl that Jesus wore representing who he was and she said in that same chapter of Mark 5 in verse 28, if only I may touch his clothes I shall be made well. If I only may touch the authority that he represents, I will be healed. I will be made well. There are so many other examples, the story of blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10, that of the centurion in Matthew 8 who, remember, he believed that Jesus could speak the word, not even travel or come to his house, but speaking the word would heal the servant under the command of the centurion. Another example, the four friends who removed the mannequins, who removed their land and brought them into the land of marriage.
