The phone lines are open you got questions, we've got answers stage for the line of fire with your host activist all the international speaker and theologian Dr. Michael Brown your voice of moral cultural and spiritual revolution Michael Brown is the director of the coalition of conscience and president of fire school of ministry get into the line of fire valves like always 866-34-TRUTH that's 866-34-TRUTH your Jim is Dr. Michael Brown welcome welcome to the live fire. This is Michael Brown.
Yes, the phone lines are open 866-34-TRUTH 866-348-7884. You've got questions, we've got answers. I'm delighted to be with you today point I had two amazing days in Orlando Florida.
We prerecord the shows for yesterday and Wednesday and I was recording TV shows for God to be with you two shows for them every week. One is five days a week five minutes a day called ask me anything where we answer questions that are sent in by the viewing audience from God to be around the world and that we record their own studios and then they do the editing everything back in your studio. But then we do a show that's every Sunday a preaching show called world on fire. I have no audience there in the studio I preach, but it's a half-hour preaching show just digging into the word and by God's grace we recorded 21 shows into tasty. I make preacher my heart up there was a supernatural grace and of course healthy healthy eating and living a contributes that as well but but we did a nine week series of the sermon on the Mount, and that a five-week series. First Peter one chapter every day so that was awesome and wonderful.
We asked some folks to pray for grace and strength. Those prayers were answered and I love to teach and preach the word. So, what an opportunity to do it all day complete hour after hour after hour in the word teach. It is so rich is so wonderful than the last show we have one more to record be before we had a flight back home and I said to the team.
All right, the crew there give me a subject. Pick one. We went back and forth in the have a creation I should get.
That's it. Genesis I so that was the last show that we record.
II can't wait these to air, but today your questions drive what we talk about, 866-348-7884 a before I go to the phones. I just want to address one of the recent, the most recent controversy of I was asked the other day about oneness Pentecostals and are they saved or not gone to a larger discussion Roman Catholic so they say that I said that I've met save Roman Catholics but that's despite the error of Roman Catholicism teaches to me if you strictly adhere to everything.
Roman Catholicism teaches than your denying fundamentals of the gospel innocently met save Catholics to me, that would be despite Roman Catholicism whereby Jehovah's Witnesses where cult. Plain and simple. There cult people. Jehovah's Witnesses are lost. However, one time in my life I met someone that seemed from our conversation believes to be saved.
What was my take on it.
Probably the person was a believer before they join Jehovah's Witnesses and they still didn't know what Jehovah's Witnesses taught if they adhere to a Jehovah's Witnesses taught then they can be a believer.
That's obvious that simple.
So what about oneness Pentecostals so I was asked about this and I said, I've met oneness Pentecostals as far as I know what their practice and beliefs. This is very much cultlike, but I met some that we talk things through that that they absolutely hold to the deity of Jesus that they hold to the eternal nature of the sun that they hold to Jesus dying on the cross, rising from the dead. The confession was Lord. They believe in one God, one God only. They seem to had a born-again experience. So even though they would not hold to classical Trinitarian doctrine. They would argue they have the sun they have the father also lives met some that seem to be simple swelling. Colcord desires I read Ida Trinka. There is a lot of ignorance in this understanding right so I said if my friend James White was on this a question he would ask and and I didn't remember the exact phrasing of it, but he has since tweeted Mesa going to the phones momentarily, but he said this, he said modern oneness folks all believe is defined by the PCI that the son is a creature indwelt by God the father, but deny the eternal existence of the sun quote as a self-conscious divine person to James asked me your position that many of these people are just ignorant of these issues and have a simple faith in Jesus as many Trinitarian's are actually moralistic in their thinking, or that one can knowingly deny the existence of the son is a divine person and you still eternal life as Rebecca James, the former, there was that they are ignorant of what oneness Pentecostal strictly teach, and that they do have a faith in the eternal son they believe in the deity of Jesus as it is one God, one God. Only Jesus is the father-son Holy Spirit corsets wrong its own Scripture teaches right but that they affirm all of the fundamentals for salvation and therefore could be saved because of their ignorance of oneness Pentecostals if they espouse this in James feels that the good 80% do if they espouse this, that the son is a creature indwelt by God the father, but they deny the eternal existence of the son of course I wouldn't see the mistake of course not so. So again, listen to my critics out there there a whole other big battles to fight, fight them with you want to find out what I believe on these issues. I've written about them in massive detail my Jewish apologetics books and on lectures, etc. if all you do is discredit yourself more and more and more and and you want I did a radio interview this morning and and folks were just so upset with some crazy stuff that's been said about me recently. This is how you feel about us and I feel sadness and are about to celebrate 42 years of marriage. Someone says to me or your aunt Mary. I feel I feel bad for those people, it'll work out.
We went once on a cruise to Alaska messengers to subsequent speaks.
We were given a cruise as part of the deal with me speaking it and try to get others to come along.
I recruited nobody better to get people to go to the cross and to go on a cruise.
To be honest but but anyway so what would happen was that is beautiful cruise to Alaska and we went once one time at one of the stops. We took a helicopter went to glacier.
One of the most majestic things never seen a loss and what are some is Texas. There are no glaciers in Alaska are really there. I feel for the people because we're enjoying the beauty of the glacier. So this is why even bother with folks because I care about the unity of the body because there folks who listen to the critics are very sincere out what her reach them bring everybody together to follow Jesus, but of course you deny the 50 knowingly deny the fundamentals. Of course I do recognize you as a believer 866-34-TRUTH we go to the phones at our end in Portland, Oregon. Welcome to the line of fire by Dr. Brown. Eric yes I can. Okay perfect thank you for correcting that. Think a guy I love the Trinity and I I'm really glad to hear you got a little bit while you're there about one Pentecostal I agree with you that your people and ignorant about it you know God is great for them if they are no denying that he turn out. If you have a FOI question today.
You have a question about praying and like either man every time I'm in church growing up if I do, I was raised Catholic but I would never believe it. But they would take the hat off of a man's head when he would go to when you go to pray and I know that there structural support for.that it's shameful for a man to pray with that had covered and so I was curious about it because there's a lot of people in church today like I live in Portland Oregon. Early liberal place and the church of China follow suit and all the worship leaders will like.
Where have anything to pray and prophesy with hat on and I just I want to get your perspective on that and then also if you could elaborate a little bit. A lot of people also will throw out women covering your head because it was cultural but then in first. In chapter 11. He said that it because it man is the glory of God and that young the glory of man because the Angels I just I was hoping you could elaborate a little bit on it for me and kind to meet your perspective. Yes, sure thing parents of first things first Corinthians 11 is a chapter that's going to be controversial for just about everybody in the body one way or another we do know that the high priest wore a miter, it was a type of hat that he wore in the presence of God. So Paul was probably not just speaking about hat of some kind. We we know that in later Judaism. It wasn't the custom in Jesus day, but in later Judaism men would cover their heads. Now that the yarmulke or that they keep the skull covering that's done out of reverence for God, but that was not a custom in Jesus day from what we know there's no evidence that Jesus would've worn anything like that and I don't think that that was what Paul had in mind either about head covering, but that being said, I am much more at home with people removing their hats men removing their hats as a sign of reverence for God. The presence of God.
Ironically, traditional Jews put on the skullcap. The reason they put on they put that on is out of reverence for God, but whatever Paul is talking about there. We know that there was a cultural issue of women being veiled. If you're a married woman, you'd be failed in public. Now you're having a home meeting.
So in a home meeting. Should that be considered public or not and his thing was just you should be veiled and there's that's a sign of submission to the husband since that's not part of our culture in terms of submission to a husband does a woman need to be veiled like that. It would be odd in our culture to me. What I take away from first Corinthians 11 that's important is the importance of gender distinction between men and women. The importance of within the marital relationship. The woman being submitted to the husband and the husband being submitted to the Lord and that there is evidence of that in the way we live.
As far as the long hair short. Here question on. By the way, with when were in India. It's always the custom it when women pray in India numerous time for prayer. They take their sorry's and they they wrapped them around their their heads to cover their heads in accordance with first Corinthians 11 and most of the circles around the women sit on once on the Benson on other sites of these distinctions are still there, so that the thing to me is to try to understand what it signified in that culture and then how we can take that into our culture today and live that out so the importance of gender distinctions.
The importance of male-female roles and importance of the woman honoring of the man and the man honoring of the woman and I I'm not going to get into a dogmatic argument about hair length and and you know you could have a Nazirite valor man could wear his hair longer, but we just know generally speaking, that women's hair grows longer than that. The vast majority of cultures around the world.
Women have longer hair than men male pattern baldness is not something normally associated with the female men have their head shaved. So problem women do. Baldness is considered much more shameful.
So there's still an aspect of the woman's hair being her glory for more than the man and to me for a woman to have super short hair and a male, styled to me personally. That's contrary to the spirit of respect is love and I hope that helps a little right back with more your cost per plan by the Expo line of fire with your host Dr. Michael Brown your voice and more cultural and spiritual revolution. Here again is Dr. Michael Brown back something interesting happened. This happened a few times before, but it was let's see Tuesday night Wednesday night after preaching teaching all day recording shows for God TV was back in my room somewhere on the trip may be at the airport somewhere. I been watching CNN more talk talk about Trump and evangelicals, I got this tremendous burden the consomm from time to time that that God wants vesicular TV that I need to be addressing some of these issues. It is happened.
It was a Piers Morgan Tyra Banks or Phil Donahue. But there are other news, local loose things. But it's every so often I felt deeply burdened about it Wednesday night. Then Thursday will recording more shows for God TV get a note that CNN wants me to come on.
It would be this this morning early Friday morning on Chris Cuomo to debate and the far all about Trump and evangelicals, I thought how interesting that the night before. I spoke felt specifically burdened about being on CNN, then get to call the US insurance can be early in the morning refined back and back like 10 last night was can get picked up by the car service at 620 in the morning into the chute at 730 in the morning and city location near Bybee's great let's do it. And then when I got home were supposed to do the pre-interview with the producer and then the latest news broke with the trunk try to file Robert Moeller, etc. to try to fire him and solicit a new cycle change were gonna change the show in the morning so I said no problem, but if it happens will let you know if we get to debate.
Some of these issues on secular TV. We will let you know 866-34-TRUTH of the Grand Rapids, Michigan Chris, welcome to the line of fire. Hi you or take some of the question sure my question is regarding your show the other day you mentioned walking your your Woodworking immunity. Yeah, and I'm wondering can we shoot we are. How do we walk immunity with on those who teach the prosperity gospel in the light of what first think the fix I and constant friction between men of depraved mind, and deprived of the true blue supposed but godliness is a means of gaining so Scripture says people who believed at least described as being of depraved mind, and deprived of the truth and in KGB in the KGB even say to department. Given that the word have catch up on them speaking about the types of people and we walk immunity with them. If it isn't just a minor differently than baptism, or should be partly people and they have to know that yes yes that's what they preach. Of course we depart from the sure Wheatley worn them and if they don't repent that we depart from short II about that shortly.
Uniting iron yet limited since I wrote about that first free strongly and in 1990 and my Pocasset darling, I have a whole chapter about that and then in claim with holy fire, which comes out in April. I have a whole chapter on the carnal prosperity peptalk gospel now world I would where I would draw line is if some is actually preaching that Jesus died to make you rich is that the purpose of the gospel is financial gain that the sign of spirituality is financial riches and that the poor were cursed or something like that.
Of course I accordion. What a fairer Army what you're thinking right if you do speak clearer like a new car. You declare aggregate have a condo on the beach it will happen in the County of Lake declare that they could be foolishness. That's not necessarily the same thing. There people that are foolish that you try to correct and help write that you don't call them people of depraved minds, but here, let me ask you this. Do you let see you go on the mission field right and you have no funds but you feel God's really called you to go on the mission field with her family.
She can step out in faith and believe that God will provide for you. Would you see that is as potentially a biblical mentality that of God sending us on the mission field. We do our best but he'll provide for us. Well, if Abraham had believed without God telling him that it would've been at presumption because like you get on the got isolation on the mission ideal is really awesome. Got it right you to it.
If you if you got it specifically revealed that you can provide for a nap.
But if God hadn't specifically revealed it to you and you and presumption right okay fine so so how about let's let's just take a verse like tell me if you agree with this. Okay all Paul says those who so liberally will reap liberally those who so generously will reap generously jubilee thing you believe that injury is a blank I don't check or I'm going to Count on the beach because I say that I didn't say that. Just you agree with adverse event to the extent that it can bring the whole counsel of God. All okay fine good enough right.
Let's let's try this, Jesus says, give and it shall be given to good measure, pressed on running over some and given to patients of this the same we can give will be given back to jubilee than that. I believe if you believe that the shakedown plucking it eternal life with God and eternal. And again, if you believe the blessing and a beach under a beachfront condo or a nice car or pick out another one. You keep jumping. It is you see is what troubles metal. I don't find your methodology to be honest you're gonna read exactly what Paul says here but then when I called Paul or Jesus else were you change it to then exaggerates a hoot who said a condo on the beach who said that well would you interpret condo on the beach or that were stored vertically eternal pleasure. Got is not eternal pleasures at the right hand of God, or that man will get men will give Jake and I met your your telling your address, present one man great Christmas and if you like is this your interests on the Chris Chris Christie asked me a question. It's my show, but it is taught you candidly that of course another you are and in the past.
To let you give out your information, I I don't read your stuff II find you actually be not credible. I ungulate you speak in a minute but I just want to make sure can I find you to be not credible, not ethical right. For example, the you you quote, you said you read one of my books quote.
It's basically an attack on a particular person. If you actually read the book to study. In the preface, you know that was totally false, right or you call very politely with a certain set up question.
The final respond exactly certain way that your next campaign unnoticed.
People some stuff so II find right now. The same thing to be dishonest. You call and ask me an honest question and answer it straight out. Depart for most people don't fellowship with them. But now I try to find out what you actually believe because I know plenty of people that live sacrificially then nothing about a condo on the beach or anything. Okay, but they truly believe as they so with generosity help others that God blesses them and that you're one of my friends his whole ministry he lives to give away money to the poor in Israel. Jewish believers Gentile believers Arab Chris different wants to give away money and he has lived his whole life giving, giving, giving, and now millions of dollars coming to him to give away to help the poor and he lives a simple modest lifestyle right was talking condo on the beach but but here's here's what Jesus says right and then I'm going to get a let you address this, but I just find the fundamental dishonesty in asking a question that appears to be sincere question. I give you sincere answer and then everything is is is basically a set up. But here is what Jesus says give and will be given to you good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be poured into your lap for the measure used will be the measure you receive and the testimony of verse after verse after verse. Chris is gone.
Yikes.
I Chris is gone put them on hold so he would interrupt me on the air okay will see when I'm not even gonna give his website or if I lived in the past, but this is a typical critic folks we just listen to I put them on hold because he was talking over me on my own show and not letting me answer this is the typical stuff we deal with now. This will be the big campaign. Mike Brown supports the prosperity gospel let these folks go on with their fundamental dishonest unethical practices, folks, my heart goes out to you because you're spitting into the wind and the smile of God will be on those who honor them. So do I believe in generosity. Yes I believe in sowing and reaping, yes. Do I believe in the prosperity gospel. Now I pronounced it for decades. Flat out directly plainly aggressively loudly clearly I continue to do so right 86634 Germantown, Maryland Michael, welcome to light a fire hexagram hey eight I and about how the name Palestine after couple weeks ago I read your article.
As you well about Natalie but I was asked again for confirmation. Take a little further, but if you're if you're reading about New Testament time a Christian book or are looking at a New Testament map. Would it be wrong for them to refer to Palestine lifting Matt Flake New Testament Palestine, yeah, that this accident so that's anachronistic than the land as a whole was not called Palestine until 100+ years after the death and resurrection of Jesus. When Hadrian changed the name. You can go back about 500 years before the time of Jesus in some ancient Greek writings were certain areas may may have been referenced as as Palestine's this question about spelling because of where the Philistines had lived, but the land as a whole was not called Palestine until hundred plus years after the time of Jesus. You would better call it the land of Israel. If you want to because it had been the land of Israel before that or you could just call it properly by the Roman district singular Judaica Galilee, Samaria know what whatever the different districts would have been that would be right, but to call it Palestine would be like showing a map from the 1500s in America and calling this a map of the United States. It would be historically wrong and the. The new American Standard Bible in the new edition that comes out what next year the year after that will be changing that other notes, Palestine won't be there anymore. The reference came in something else. So if there's more your question, let us know but gonna take a break.
The line of fire with your host Dr. Michael Brown get into the line of fire now by calling 866-34-TRUTH paradigm is Dr. Michael Brown x-rays for joining us on the line of fire is Friday which means you've got questions, we've got answers 866-34-TRUTH 87884 is the number to call Google your calls in one moment the first this is the nightmare for every parent. It's the unthinkable. That happens sometimes a mom and dad here. There's a shooting at school. They tried it contacts their daughter frantically.
She calls them but you can't talk like she's dying 15 years old, vibrant young lady planned to go to nursing to serve and care for others. She and another young person killed by a teenager in that school. Mother and father heartbroken. II As as I read the storage cost torn. We've raised two daughters their 3940. Now our grandkids between 1711 for grandkids each eat can even imagine it and the mother said this, she set out a little and go to court.
I will that I can face this person court and I want to pay for what he did to us about how to pray for him to must be trellises of the thing is if you had a problem resets my daughter she would've help and you think what kind of grace is there in someone's life to say okay you took my baby you you have altered our lives for the rest of the course of our lives and taken this precious 15-year-old out of this world, but I want to pray for you is your trouble.
Also, somehow God can put that in people.
Yes, you pay for what you did but still I want to see you made well as well as see you find repentance and forgiveness and wholeness.
That's grace at work is totally contrary to the spirit of the world possess the power of the grace of God, 86634 shoe let us go to Brian Charlotte, North Carolina hey Brian, welcome to the line of fire. Hello are you there I tell you what I can hear you but the question on my screen you want to know why Jehovah's Witnesses are called, will they deny the fundamentals of the gospel. They believe that Jesus was a created being read in the eternal son of God.
They deny. Therefore, God's tri-unity. They don't believe in the person of the Holy Spirit, they don't truly believe in salvation. Only through the blood of the cross. They have a mixture with the workspace religion as well. They claim that don't understand the Scriptures without the revelation they provide in their teaching, etc. so it's every mark of a cult. Although it uses the Bible to miserable translation of the Bible, but that butchers key passages and again denies fundamentals denies the nature of Jesus denies the true efficacy of blood on the cross. The fact that Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in eternal hell punishment is not as big an issue as some of these other issues that absolutely mark them as a cult, so we reach out to Jehovah's Witnesses as lost people, 866-34-TRUTH just looking at some questions up on our YouTube channel only gets one or two of those shortly let us go to Don in Cleveland, Ohio. Welcome to the line of fire. Hi, thank you, thank you. Technical background you're welcome. I had a quick question I was actually a bronco ministry student grace so I read the most amazing years of my life, but at a question that I actually my kind, I don't think I speak you and I know I don't.
The real answer is whether wet when the rapture is live free him start return.
No I'm just listening to okay live ready all the time limit for the rapid and after the day at the I would literally but I just want to hear your take. If you had any personal data. Whether you thought it is even some people that typically there is no rapture SOI.
I am not.
I have not believed in the preacher rapture for well over 40 years of Believe that all however because Brownsville Assembly of God taught a preacher rapture because those whose use of John Kilpatrick and Steve Hill.
I let them know right at the start and end agree with it but I wouldn't teach contrary to it.
So if the question never came up in our school because I was honoring that the setting in which I ministered. I sit here are the different views and when people see Dr. Brown with Yuri where your views to secure the different views because I didn't want to be divisive over it. I didn't want Steve to be preaching his heart out in evangelistic sermon. Maybe make reference to preacher rapture and in a few hundred students to know what so II made it clear from the start. Don't divide over that that's what's taught here, I won't. I will never say anything that's going to contradict that.
In terms of public settings that I have but Craig Keener and I have a book of scheduled to come out next year. A cold, not afraid of the antichrists why we don't believe in a preacher rapture and will lay it out plainly. My understanding is at the end of this age, Jesus will appear for the whole world to see.
Like lightning from one end of the earth to the other. We will be caught up to me than the dead in the South will rise first. Those who live remain will be caught up to meet him and we will descend together with him as he establishes his kingdom on the earth will be glorious. It'll happen at his appearing. Your longing for and waiting for his appearing. We're waiting for his piracy which is actual arrival on the earth's royal visit here so that's what were looking forward to anticipating so we live in readiness because no one knows how many days they have and we can go be with the Lord at any moment. But we plan long-term vision, multigenerational vision and living day-to-day readiness and we know whatever tribulation testing comes away God's grace will be sufficient for us in the midst of it. Okay. All right. God bless you mankind are fruit okay bye-bye. The group I 866-34-TRUTH for truth.
Let's see okay my views on first Corinthians 13 and the old prophet leading the man of God, a straight yeah okay a really interesting section in the Bible where an old man of God has a word for a profit. Eight. A true prophet who was prophesied about the king to calm Josiah's and he gives this man a false word and the man follows it. Okay, here you can eat with us know. I was told I can't while I'm from the Lord told you could and then he goes ahead follows it and dies as a result of it. How do we understand it well. The Lord tested the prophet and the use this other prophet and testing him, Deuteronomy 13 it says that that God could use someone that prophesies falsely as a test to see if you're really going to cleave to the words of the Lord and in first Kings 22 God sends out a deceiving spirit that lies to the false prophets. So here it seemed that the prophet, the second guy the old prophet was a real prophet, but he gave a false word so either was the out of the will of God in and just being used as a test. Either way, it's a very peculiar story.
Overall, but God was testing the true prophet. Here's the lesson for us if we know that God has spoken so first and fundamentally in the word anything else that comes along and claims to be God that contradicts that word throw out we throw out we dismiss we discard this event has miracles behind its size doesn't matter if it contradicts the revelation of Scripture we discard 866-34-TRUTH. Let's see we go over to Scott in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Thanks for calling the line of fire. Hey, I dreamt of.
Probable like for example the charismatic and break the charismatic movement to the old and transient 13 lack universal format with my adorable promoted me to grasp it to the Overbrook movable that it is God-given muscular build. Speaking of the line that would right here to tell you about that is better than anything navigating 13 about 11 he went to heaven without moving in now with cooperative problems. It let me try to jump in and comment.
You go to heaven without speaking in tongues you go to heaven without prophesying you. You can go to heaven without leading someone to Jesus. Even though it's super important to lead people to Jesus. You can go to heaven.
I have the gift of unit that's never a matter of salvation it's it's it's a matter of being gifting grace by God particularly you go to heaven without showing hospitality to others, but were called to do that and those things were supernaturally enabled to do like tongues or prophecy. So everything must flow out of love.
You prophesied day and night.
If you're not motivated by love. What's the use of it you you can you can manifest all kinds of of gifts. It could just be a show posted you could lay down your life. You can actually lay down your life right. He said if I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing to dies a martyr and if you do have love for God, it profits you nothing. So every thing we do must flow out of love. I pray in tongues a regular basis as something that strengthens my relationship with God and enables me to serve you better and to minister to others better so it's love that moves me otherwise I could be praying in English. I could be reciting the Lord's prayer prayer. Jesus taught us to pray, and it could be meaningless gibberish. If I'm just saying empty words and repeating them over and over so it's the quality of the heart love for God love for those that most fuel everything we do.
Having lay that out.
Paul then gives directors for tongues and prophecy because these things continue until Jesus returns. By the way II agreed to debate Dr. Thiers after release. Not sure if entrance is less than correctly on the gifts of the spirit have a ceased I received an invitation from reforming American ministries with regard be having an apologetics conference and let's have a debate the day before and up. I thought these were brothers in the Lord asked him to debate the gifts and that Dr. Zachary's has a PhD in Greek and third grade.
Let's do it and scheduled for June, only to find out that these men are such strict Calvinist. They don't they don't believe that I'm saved and will regard me as a brother.
Yeah hey trust net again this feel bad for them and that score, but that's not what were debating they were assured it will be a civil, academic, respectful debate so I'll regard them as brothers. They can regard me however they like but I look it's plain you read the Bible and we have commands from the Lord to to earnestly seek the gifts right were called to do it and not your favorite times and to prophesy the sea. Prophecy is in the Bible.
Show me where God change that in the Bible, Bible man, I I go by the word word says these things are for today. I pulled right back.
It's the line of fire with your host activist, author, international speaker and theologian Dr. Michael Brown voice of more cultural and spiritual revolution get into the line of fire now by calling 86643 here again is Dr. Michael Brown and let's see how many calls can get to start with Ben in Durham, North Carolina, one of five minutes gone in his gauntlet. Hospice is quickly and very quick. Stephen in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Thanks for joining the line of fire.
Good did you speak of Stephen better now. That's what we need. Go ahead and be part Bible complete Jewish Bible yeah like reading your letter about John.where you have not chosen me, but I chose you and Matt written on their commentary about, related to the concept of bridegroom choosing a flat you expound upon that a little bit also bottom element welcome yet.
So when I was a Calvinist. I use John 1616 is approved tax that we don't choose God. He chooses us and of course I would emphasize that all of us believe were saved by God's grace, but by his favor by his mercy, not by our works are bar goodness. We all believe that we will agree with that but in context it's talking about calling for service is not talk about calling for salvation there if if we look at the verses it says this a you did not choose me, Jesus speaking to his disciples, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit us and then ultimately God is the one who went looking for us. We didn't go looking for him as for a salvation of as far as the comment in the complete Jewish Bible.
There there different comments there from a couple different scholars that are very very helpful. I've not read the text myself in that way. I've not read it in terms of the. The groom choosing the bride that somehow I've read it myself, but it is clearly choosing for service just like God chose Israel as his firstborn son to be a light to the nations, but it didn't mean that all Israelites were saved just like he said, Jacob.
I've loved and Esau hate it doesn't mean that every descendent of Jacob was saved in every descendent of Esau was lost as a calling for service. So in that sense he chooses this one for this purpose and that one for another purpose, and gives us an anointing and grace to do those particular things. That's how I understand it, if I was making a Calvinist of argument today and that was several of my biggest verses I use this Calvinist, but it's what I use.
I think they're stronger versus a Calvinist could use but that's how answer. Hey, thank you sir for the question. Let's go to Jesse in Swanson Colorado. Thanks for calling the line of fire. Veterinary doing well thank you. Kind regards animal right you can and help active young like that but I wanted that morning at the endpoint and what what your thoughts are okay during how unbelievably wretched arm like that in light of how the house treat animal, but it Robert document. That I did. Think on your yards are a few thoughts number one animal-rights activists tend to be extreme on these issues and the vast majority I've ever interacted with her heard from our abdomen to the protection of animals and also pro-abortion was a tell me tells me they don't realize that human beings are unique, they don't realize that human beings alone are created in the image of God. So we start their human beings are unique create an image of God. Number one, number two, animal creation was given to us we were to subdue the whole world. In Genesis chapter 1.
That's the starting place were to subdue the whole world, and after the flood animals could be eaten and of course animals even before the flood were used for sacrifice so it was perfectly fine to take an animal's life and to offer it up and sacrifice to God or through most of human history to take an animal's life in order to sustain oneself with food, so the animals having given to us in that regard. However, it is not a lot on this general Proverbs mentions how some of this is kind in all kind persons even cut is kind to their animals and things like that so I believe we should be ethical in treatment of animals. It was it wrong to torture a cat if of course it is is wrong to abuse the mantle.
Of course it is, they weren't given to us to be abused but to be used, so if they can be used practically for the good of the human race, or for the worship of God. Wonderful. But for us to abuse them in wrong ways of, for example Judaism and Islam both developed laws about sacrifice and in Judaism of the knife has to be a certain sharpness and things like this and this is done for the good of animals, and even if animals used for experimental purposes to develop cures for human beings we just need to be as ethical as we can, but recognizing that human beings are different that animals have been given to the human race for the glory of God and for our good. Let us just be ethical and what we do and we can spare pain-and-suffering we do it to inflict pain-and-suffering in a cruel way is always cruel, or in an un-thoughtful way is always cruel even on an animal that would be my simple statement, 86634 we go to George and Orlando Florida. Thanks for joining the line of fire and Mike about item very well, thank you ma'am read from ladybugs and James Wyatt and I'm a big fan of both you guys. I will question ask you it really detailed and great Pacific but it would help me out with trying to read the Bible.
Yeah, my understanding before I am, which is a literal tribe and also I got the nickname of the northern kingdom in which it is said in Genesis that that the fry will become the what what ideology to save the metal hog lien or the fullness of the Gentiles. My question is what is that mean and the northern kingdom when they were that the 10 tribes that dispersed into the nation to hear them again. How are they the fullness of the Gentiles aisle. I don't quite understand.
Yeah it's it's a great question and and again we can impact a great length number one going there the sentence so the mean Gentiles, but nations and remember that Abraham was told. You will be a great joy.
You will be a great Gentile, but you will be a great nation.
So from influence of nations to just name of the expansiveness. Remember this is just one guy. At this point right.
Genesis 49, and these got his family. The fact that this becomes a name for the 10 northern tribes that right there would be below gleam right that that would certainly be a fullness of nations represented there now that being said is it possible that northern Israel. The northern 10 tribes scattered around the world have expanded the identity of Israel, that they are there hidden Israelites in different parts of the world. Some believe that and and then there are actually rabbis their homework is to try to find these hidden Israelites and use that in the they can prove it by DNA and things like that in different parts of the world so that could be some of the meeting.
Now some believe that this represents the F rhyme represents the Gentile church prophetically that F rhyme is a type and shadow of of so F rhyme and Judah is a type and shadow of Israel and the nations coming together in one body that is possible as long as you don't take it literally. What I mean is this. There are people who actually believe that the entire Gentile church is actually the lost 10 tribes of Israel, and they have this bizarre teaching where you try to discover what the original tribe is and they start living like Jews in a cake. It's really really weird and they claim that literally. If you are saved, then you're at the only safe people on the planet are either Jews or descendents of the 12 of the 10 northern tribes and so that's that's complete and utter nonsense. However, we see that both Paul and Romans and Peter in first Peter use language from Hosea 1, which God originally spoke about Israel F rhyme and said you used to be on me. My people, but now low on me. You're not my people and and now your low roof, there is no mercy upon you. But in the future you'll be my people.
Again, you were not a people will be my people, you who did not receive mercy, will receive mercy.
Now Paul and Peter apply that to the Gentiles, you who were not the people of God become the people of God, you who did not receive mercy receive mercy. They're not saying it's literally fry them, or Israel. But it could prophetically symbolize that that the relationship that you have with F. Ryan and that got fractured and then gobble bring the two together, the two sticks vision that that God gives to Ezekiel that the two sticks of of these tribes will come together so that Israel northern Israel reunite is that a picture of Jew and Gentile, becoming one of the site, you can spiritually interpret it like that but it is not a literal statement so number one you could say that the 10 northern tribes. The northern kingdom itself fulfill the prophecy of being a a fullness of nations because it was an expansive kingdom made up of these different tribes. That's one thing.
Second thing is the 10 tribes have been scattered abroad, is it possible that as a tintype scattered abroad that they have merged with other peoples and that this will be some of what is revealed at the end of the ages.
Israel scattered is regathered more more possibly, but you want to go too far with that can talk is it crazy thank you for your loss tribes is every real British Israelite is more nonsense like that and lastly could be a spiritual prophetic picture of the Gentiles. The church sure as long as you just take it as a spiritual application hate, one less thing we've got a great free e-book we are giving away everybody watching online, Facebook, YouTube, don't go anywhere yet go to my website, asked her to round out or ask a DR Brown the sign up for emails.
