It's thoroughly Jewish Thursday so will focus on is what is Israel on the edge of war would gonna talk about the school shooting as well it's time for the line of fire with your host activist and author, international speaker and theologian Dr. Michael Brown your voice of moral cultural and spiritual revolution Michael Brown is the director of the coalition of conscience and president of fire school of ministry get into the line of fire now by calling 866-34-TRUTH. That's 866-34-TRUTH here again is Dr. Michael Brown walking short really Jewish Thursday broadcast not only the question of Israel with potential war with Syria/Iran but also charges being brought potentially against Prime Minister Netanyahu of bribery and corruption what's happening with that. We'll talk about that will take you Jewish related calls as well will talk about some relevant Scriptures.
Here's the recall 866-34-TRUTH 866-348-7884. Any Jewish related question of any kind will take as many calls as we can. So that's Hebrew related they could be related to modern Israel today to be related to Jewish tradition can be related to Jewish objection to Jesus you might be a Jewish listener and you don't believe Jesus issue is the Messiah and you want to challenge me.
Have a question for me. Phone lines are open.
At first the school shooting that Took Pl. in Florida yesterday. We were focused on doing radio and had guests on the second half hour of the broadcast yesterday didn't even know about the shooting until I got home, so did radio, went to the store. Came home and the news was on and Nancy was filling me in on the details so that course focused on that and looked at that to the rest of the night and you know in terms of fatalities. This is more than Columbine had devastated.
That was how shocking that was and how overwhelming that was how grievous that was there more fatalities. Yesterday a woman posted on my Facebook page and said this is before they release them or fatalities. She said this is this is happening right next to me since I was there, since it's right behind my house since were students being reported that someone else sent out a note just about hurt her kids and they lost Instagram friends and friends of friends realize how connected kids are with social media and out of course kids were retaking pictures on cell phones and using the horror of what took place.
I can relate to it. You try that there had subs like this happen in my own life. I was there or so that I cared for directly was that yes we lost that Nancy lost her brother at the World Trade Center in 9/11 so swing on that level. This the shock of a loved one die goes to work one day and never comes home through a terrorist act, but it's so hard to relate with the parents went through with the kids, then through a case like this and just praying, reflecting, and safety. What will I say what I write. I actually did something on twitter to be cynical about this, but I thought know if I can get people thinking about this theologically and asking them to pray I can get more people praying because generally speaking, we say hey pray the Army we know that gets limit response. But what I wanted to say was listen cultural belief believe that God ordained.
Whatever happened God ordained is that your view or or is it a matter of people just choose. It's free will or is it Satan's activity. What was it primarily and I put up on Twitter asking the question would sing and as your answering. Pray this because I want to draw more people and to pray and I was praying for the Lord what do or write anything about this is something I'm supposed to say in the midst of it can we do about the pain-and-suffering. I know this can be gun control debate and debate of a greater security in schools and some posted on my Facebook page look. I remember the school in the 50s. Kids would bring their rifles to school. The boys bring their rifles and got hunting afterwards and then there was a marksman team it with with RTC and and they they had everything locked up in one part of the school with all their guns and when any trouble with it in so III just if you are supposed to get into that discussion, gun control, security, etc., but as I looked at it. I wanted to see before Columbine and after Columbine. What's happening with gun violence and an that was devastating to me. Went to Wikipedia and there is a comprehensive article about about shootings in our schools in the 1800s there was there was actually a violent act that this is one of Native Americans attacking colonial score you think it was 1764.
Some of the colonial school and kids. It worked were killed and that in that violent attack then and then in the 1800s, etc. in 1900's and in the 2000 and 2010 seven was clear, although there were some discrepancies in some of the figures and everything was documented, but some of the math didn't add up in the question is what's called a gun shooting some said that there were 18 shootings in schools this year that would be in a suicide attempt would be included in that dose adult I could just be a gun going off there.
There eight shootings total when you break it down break it down. There is an exponential increase in gun violence.
I wrote an article about it. You can read it by going Esther to Brown.org SK dear Brown.Oregon it's posted on other websites as well but but according to the article, there were 28 school shootings in America in the 19th century to the 1800 there were 226 in the 20th century and 223 already in the 21st century renovated 1/5 of the way through.
At this pace, we will go way beyond combined shootings total in the 1900s in America will go way beyond that in the first 20 years of this century and and then look at this. Of the 223 school shootings.
So for the century. 60 occurred from 2000 to 2009, and 153 or hundred 45. Dependent where you put numbers that were in the hundred 40s or hundred 50s in 2010 to 2018. Your time by the exponential increase in the vast majority of those killed her kids in school. It's it's intensely devastating.
We say okay Mike what you saying to us. I'm saying that while we discuss all the relevant issues while we discuss issues of who can get guns.
How is it that this kid was kicked out of school for dissident disciplinary problems and improve the students talked regularly incentive if some of them shoot up the school to be this kid the moment they heard gunshots.
This is gonna be him.
How is it that he was able have guns.
That's a question was there security on campus.
What about gun presence on campus to parentheses. These are all discussions of Adobe had an and mental illness questions rather comes in because upbringing or whatever else the violent entertainment taken got out of our schools, that the culture of death.
Because of abortion.
These are all discussions that we will have and should have it that it doesn't ease the pain and the agony of the families right now it doesn't bring back the lives of those that were were killed. It doesn't heal the injured right now over. Talk but but here's here's my contention. When we say prayers and condolences with our thoughts and prayers are with you. I have no issue with it except I don't think we really do anything that's nice. This type of violence. This type of cards in our school. In our schools with our kids. This should drive us to desperate prayer for a nation. This should drive us to prayer and fasting and crying out for mercy. I am all for saying were praying, but let's pray as if America depended on it because it does. Does America is hanging right now by the threat of God's mercy and needs divine intervention and a radical level. If we are not to destroy ourselves in so so many ways it's it's that simple friends.
It's that simple. And that's what I'm urging.
That's the purpose of article to call us to deeper prayer, 86634 let us go to the phones and we will start in New Brunswick, Qubec, Reese, welcome to the line of fire. American Grammy-winning agriculture and it should be New Brunswick, but I New Brunswick are okay yeah I hate here in America we don't know we don't know the problem there's a dispute does not know the geography civil no. No word yet so I was just wondering about the hundreds reading through the Old Testament again in the infringement time and it always a struggle for me to get through the dryer part of the Old Testament. Remember the elaborate Scripture and of the tabernacle or in a very long genealogy of them just how you know as the Scripture your God. Underscoring how you personally work through the dryer part and it's interesting you mentioned those because my first time trying to read through the whole Bible I was doing great until I hit my first genealogy in Genesis 5 and in the table of nations.
In Genesis 10 and then you know, Reading throughout an office in a second restart whatever and then I got to the instructions for the building of the tabernacle and axis 25 to 31. I thought man's got to 32 okay the account gets exciting again.
A lot going on and then get to 35 and now it's they built it. Ditto with all the details and write so it what what I've done is this and then you have the opening with 67 chapters of Leviticus, focusing mainly on sacrifices, but it's how you make the first Chronicles. The first 56 chapters. Almost all genealogies with just an occasional little verse with further teaching her explanation. So a few things I do. One is I read through those passages more quickly.
There was II don't try to focus on every word, every name, every air every little physical aspect of how something is built especially my mind is at work while conceptualizing what the thing would look like those I'm not an architect or graphic artist that that conceptualizes these kinds of things well so I will read through those passages more quickly. That's one thing. Secondly, I will pray Lord give me insight but I don't understand the significance of this.
I know I don't see why we have so much detail give me insight all right at an eye. I pray that as I'm reading. I read those passage passages more quickly. Then II also if if I'm reading those things and it's a dry time. I will then read to those a little more quickly but then read something else elsewhere in Scripture that another find more nourishing or nurturing salute so your reading enough for five chapters of the Bible day you just read through instructions. The building of the tabernacle of the first five chapters of first Chronicles and you think you know I will feel is nurtured will go ahead and read something else that will nurture you and strengthen you during that time and then what I've also found is many times when I go back and study something again a major insight emerges. So stay right there, or to what happened when I taught on the tabernacle. In the summer of 1980 taker the call stay right there error on the line of fire with your host Dr. Michael Brown. Your voice is more cultural and spiritual revolution there again is Dr. Michael Brown on this side Jesus issue. It was also the Savior of the whole world. I want to talk to more about that in a moment, any Jewish lady calls phone lines are open 8663 for 87884 so Reese just one more moment.
I want to get back to I remember reading through Leviticus many years ago and finding it very dry and then I spent some time praying and fasting. I read through Hebrews and then I went back to Leviticus and open up for me and in amazing ways. In the summer of 1984 I was asked to teach a class on the tabernacle. I thought I really want to do that but I was asked to do it and I got these overheads with PowerPoint slides in those days, but these overhead. She put a projector with images of of what different things look like an here's the altar look like in his priestly garments and as I taught about them. I opened up the the Hebrew for this meant this and and then here's what we can learn about the garments of the high priest, and anyway we had an incredibly rich time we we were actually visited by the Lord. We had an outpouring of holiness and repentance and conviction of sin and turning to the Lord in the student body.
It was it was a wonderful season. About three weeks of intense moving of God in our midst that came while I was teaching on the tabernacle and I believe there's something to it so as as your reading rather trying to figure out every detail, see if there is a message emerges made about the holiness of God or about the God being particular and how we worship him, or other things like that. As I've meditated on some of these I realized okay and and and studied other commentaries soon comes to the tabernacle of that that you had the, the holiest of all the holy of holies that the items are made of gold in them. You step out one step from there made of silver and then out the court where others could come and offer sacrifices that altar was was bronze so so you have clean and and then you have holy than your most holy and and an outside the camp you had that which was unclean and and then within the animals within Israel there were some that you can offer and sacrifice that were therefore holy and acceptable, and that which was clean you could eat and that which was unclean, and so on and so forth.
And that was it.
It will show me how through the whole system of God's dealing with Israel. He was teaching them things in there. There was clarity about the holy approach to God and then principles of atonement and things like that so sometimes we don't get so caught up on the micro level, then we can get some of these larger macro choose and and then you go through Leviticus. I remember reading about that the qualifications of priests and you know if it if you're if you are dwarf reviewed, crushed testicles, or had some kind of blemish you can serve as a priest and think that that's just unfair. But God was same Israel. There is a certain standard in approaching him. It was a physical lesson to convey spiritual point with the genealogies. One other thing that emerge for me was how important each individual life was and that you can be listed for good or bad. You worked on the wall near my estate you get your name in there that that meant a lot or you can have your name listed the generations read it's negative and then the importance of the father to the song.
The passing on of things from one generation to another.
So, certain larger truce emerged and and read and try to decipher the meaning of every name. It is her secret message. There were certain there is, by the way, so those are some things that I think are helpful in that lightning mentioned that the genealogy in Genesis 5 people said look, if you read it it preaches the gospel not know it doesn't doesn't doesn't know the Hebrew names. If you look at them. I've looked at them and in order to make it preach the gospel, you have to read meanings into some of the names that do not agree with the Hebrew meaning of the name. Sorry, but there is not a hidden gospel message in the names Genesis 586634 let us go to Charlie and Johnstown, Colorado walking to the line of fire. Her good are you speaking directly into the phones or of our better yet we don't on speakerphone.
We need to talk and write to the phone yet. Go ahead. My question for you. Reading through Joe and Job 15 when talking about doing operating or it uses the word Baker God and what you and awarded through just wondering how that yet.
So that is throughout Job 1 and two, when Satan is saying that he'll curse God and of God who curse you to your face so that occurs repeatedly and then then at the end of the second chapter when he says over then the first argument in the Lord be praised. It comes from the same root so it simply a euphemism that it was considered to be too direct to write the words curse God so it's just a euphemism it's it's using the word for the opposite of what it means and anyone reading it would understand and serve had no clue what you think one of world brass.
My children bless God or Satan or the adversary. Challenging the Lord right that that he'll bless you to your face now since just a euphemism. Glad you looked it up in Heber but uses the word blessed as a euphemism for curse because it's considered to too much of an affront to say those words curse God and in that literature. That doesn't mean that it's not set in other places, but you do have euphemism fuses not the only time we use euphemisms is as well and you know in different contexts and we are were just used to that we don't even realize were redoing it, but in in that case, you do have a euphemism euphemisms a time in the Hebrew Bible and was considered to be just to to too much of an insult or an affront to God to say those words directly so that's that's why our banker.
You are very welcome 86634 Seattle, Washington James welcome to modifier hi, thank you Dr. Brown for having me under rated. Thank you so much for having the show I encouraged and be able to be blocked by you, thank you so much. You're very welcome. I'd had a question about the ballot checking Shabbat looks about some of that is not just sound the debris of somebody and then they they cannot. They're very open and speak. I am a loser there for second James, it is better yet, go ahead, though they have like you know event and community events and upgrade. I am all for that but I look into their belief and they cannot believe that their rep be them via, and I just wanted to know what would be great way to alike reach out to them and and share the gospel because I feel like you know they have understand a great understanding, but I'm just confused how how they can believe that the social object you yet. So it is insured, just so others understand were talking about. These are proceeded choose, so their ultra Orthodox Jews and the they have in common with other Hasidic Jews looking to their gravity or their grand rabbi as as their charismatic leader and teacher and someone specially close to God. What happened was the seventh in their particular dynasty of of Hasidic leaders their particular brand, which is called Lubavitcher from from a city Russian city from once they came in and called Bob which stands for half mobbing nine dollars so wisdom, knowledge, and an assessment, wisdom, understanding and knowledge so cabal is an acronym for that they they became very unique among proceeded choose that under the seventh and last rep be Menachem Mendel Schneerson, who died in 1994 the age of 92.
They became involved in Jewish outreach.
They they start Jewish schools. They work all around the world.
They went to the former Soviet Union. There is very little Jewish education and turn many many Jews due to religious Judaism and because of this great massive move they had in some of their mystical beliefs. They began to say that the therapy was the Messiah. And when he got very sick at the end of his life and its strokes and could even talk. They said that he's gonna reveal himself as Messiah.
And of course he died and and then many said Momo. He only it's a test he didn't really die.
He spiritually still with us and if you go to their headquarters. 770 Eastern Pkwy., Brooklyn. I was earlier this year in ecstasy a banner and across the synagogue were it's a prayer to him you Long live King Messiah and you can see his picture and this is we really we welcome you King Messiah you going to Israel and see posters in and out. The movement as a whole has continued in and actually grown a lot since his death. People thought would fall apart after that it's grown substantially and outwardly, the vast majority of them say no know he will be was the potential Messiah. He could have been the Messiah.
If we were worthy, but we weren't worthy so he was really the Messiah but others really believe that he was an and they they will argue that will when the Messiah comes, it's going to be him. So there. They're not the leaders are eager to talk to are very knowledgeable and and have heard your arguments coming long before you got there. Nonetheless, you can really pray for the Holy Spirit to work in their lives that someone get my book the real kosher Jesus the real kosher Jesus that'll give you some redemptive analogies that give you some touch points that you could share with them and then say look you. You thought your you're ready could be the Messiah.
You may think he still is but a homicidal literally rose from the dead and thus I had to come before the second Temple was destroyed. These are some of the arguments that we raise that you could bring to these people were very zealous and and very serious about outreach, you could bring these things to them and you can say hey would you consider this a my book, the real kosher Jesus, you'll find really helpful. Also, if you search for my video in search of the real Messiah we contrast Menachem Schneerson with Jesus issue for cleansing and gives the line of fire with your host Dr. Michael Brown in the line of fire now by calling 866-34-TRUTH here again is Dr. Michael Brown reminds me of of the famous chapter Koheleth Ecclesiastes chapter 3 is Koheleth in Hebrews Ecclesiastes chapter 3 this time to mourn, and there is there's a time to dance. And right now there are people celebrating God's then something amazing in their lives. Just had a child just got married something spectacular and wonderful happened in their lives and there was morning, like those morning the devastating losses in Parkland, Florida yesterday around the globe every moment there is rejoicing this morning and I think of the heart of God every consider this the intensity of the heart of God as he cares for the human race and and and he sees and relates to the pain and the joy of the race at any sees the evil going on and because he has allowed us to make choices does not intervene in the midst of it to stop it at certain times of the times I believe he holds things back in his wisdom holds things back in answer to prayer. But this much I know everything we need is found in him, friends, everything we need is found in him. It is thoroughly Jewish Thursday. Here's number to call 866-34-TRUTH any Jewish related question of any kind, 866-348-7884 a few years back we did a TV series called sink it through. It aired for two years on the INSP network and now it airs internationally on the INI network and it's also airing on ME TV Middle East TV for Jewish outreach with Hebrew captions and we did one broadcast called in search of the real Messiah. You can see it if you go to my real Messiah websites go to Esther to Brown.org and just click on Jewish and then you'll see various videos there. It's one that we did what we talked about these religious Jews based in Brooklyn but working around the world who believed that their grand rabbi that heavy was the Messiah or could be the Messiah and some said he is the Messiah, even after he died.
We contrasted that with Jesus issue.
I think you'll find it to be very helpful and eye-opening insight I think is in search of Messiah things is real Messiah in search of sub at you'll find that among the think it through videos. There are Jewish outreach website and again if you did not read the article that I wrote about the exponential increase in school shootings in recent years and the call for serious prayer not to say, will pray. Our prayers are with you but but serious prayer, heartbreaking heart rending prayer and crying out to God for mercy on her land from her going to continue to slide downwards all right want to turn my focus now to Israel again any Jewish related call so we could be Hebrew question. It could be a question at Israel today could be question about messianic prophecy could be a question about theology concerning the Jewish people 866-34-TRUTH that's the number to call. All right report from my friends Eddie and Jackie Santoro in England and in England and Israel there that there email is called the science glory update their dear friends of the been living a ministry in Israel for many many years now and they they give an update to give background on what's happening now with Israel and Iran/Syria this it is to condense a very long and complex history.
It's enough to say the wrong dominant power in the Islamic Middle East has been helping Syria with arms and troops and its protracted civil war to drive out the radical ISIS rebels that are been trying to take control. Having succeeded in this Iran is now instructed Syria to establish military bases close to the northern border of Israel.
If you go Israel friends if you join us are to remember next February. Fairbury first through 10th just be the third time ever that will lead towards Israel, so it when you go Israel and you see the goal on heights. This used to be Syrian possession.
This is part of what would Israel talk and in the first major war engaged in an otherwise once was established as a nation, but but otherwise it Israel for it.
If you are right there you can if you just be shoes be standing there in your property to shooting Israelis and that that's where the Golan Heights actually is so so Israel annexed that in the midst of war, but it is in point of fact, Syria so closer than Lebanon even closer it in other parts so so the threat is real is is intense and constant, Hezbollah in Lebanon, so they explained that Iraq's instructed Syria to establish military bases close to the northern border of Israel.
The purpose of these bases is to launch an attack on his room and near future. Obviously Israel sees this as provocation will not accept this new and dangerous situation several days ago a large Romanian drone supplied by Russia flew over the border into Israel.
These drones a large unmanned aircraft use. The man used mainly for intelligence gathering. But there also capable of carrying large weapons. Israel had been tracking the drone and shot it down.
Moments after it entered Israeli airspace Israel consider this an act of aggression, and in response, the Israeli Air Force carried out very large and effective attacks, destroying or damaging 12 military installations that were near the border is the reticular targets Israeli planes were met with massive antiaircraft fire as the planes were 21 is really F 60 was hit. The plane crashed in is really territory. Both pilots ejected and lived reports of that was America, but the plane went down the piece of open land not causing any damage. This incident was a great shock as it was the first time since 1982 that is really planted been down by sonic forces of friends.
This is going on in Israel right now response to this is really tout retaliate with another round of strikes targeting Syrian air defense systems for the second time that they'd Israeli planes came under intense anti-aircraft fire. This time, all return safely. Israel does not want to warn its northern front, but the situation is very volatile with complex dynamics operating Syria and Iran to the F-16s's destruction is incredible victory are emboldened by their new ability to confront Israeli defenses and according to a report in the Israeli left-leaning newspaper Haaretz, a telephone call stopped imminent Israeli Iranian war. According to this report. Russian Pres. Vladimir Putin stopped in imminent Israeli uranium over the telephone call following recent S escalation so I have not been able look into that in more detail terms of how widely verified, except that this is according to Haaretz. They describe the call between Pruden and Prime Minister Netanyahu as decisive and fateful as it immediately stopped the escalation of this much I know there were reports of of Israel to be on the edge of war and it's interesting to stop missing to stop.
So if in fact this is what happened. Thank God for the intervention, 866-34-TRUTH that is the number to call and we will start in Fort Worth Texas in welcome back to the line of fire. Our quick question. My father is Jewish mother other direct or indirect.
My mom is Irish in our family and inoperative or that you know if your mom is not Jewish you're not do it when I read the Bible you know it you always be the genealogy bothered on the fun, though it would be biblically that I would be Jewish and then that traditionally monks allowed you not go uptake of complex but I thought wondering what what is it yet. Let me just ask you this, when you were raised, how we raise will be told what was your consciousness of my bedroom at the Army you and them among the Christian, though.
But we know we built lot of breath. My family are not related in any way, but there would no practice right babe they went to temple and they will and you know what is your night what is your understanding when you were raised. We told you Jewish yet younger, my father, but you know and number my grandma but the rest, well we don't really fear that way because you know your mom got it got it okay.
Of course, if you lived in Nazi Germany.
The Nazis would've considered you Jewish, you would've been considered half Jewish, even if it was just from one grandparent, 1/4 Jewish you could have been considered Jewish but yes you can make a good argument biblically that the that the understanding of this child standing went back to the father. So, for example, Solomon married foreign wives.
But you don't you don't any descendent doing that, but you don't get any teaching there will, then the children wouldn't have been legitimately his as Israelite children or they would've been looked at differently. The rabbis would see a bit.
The book of Nehemiah when when the Israelites into Meritage dance intermarried with the Canaanites and others when they divorce them.
They put they they sent away the mothers and the children that shows the children were considered Jewish you could say no. It's just because the mother stay with the children in ever single dad in a raisin cage at the mom raising the kids if if that was that the case so my view is this and this is very common in the messianic movement.
If either your mother or father or Jewish and you were raised with the consciousness of being Jewish, then you should see yourself as Jewish, and by the way, if your reforms use a liberal Jew they would they would be at home with that thinking as well either mother or father. It seems that the New Testament times, the, the idea of patrilineal versus matrilineal was not fixed.
In other words, your Jewish if your father's Jewish or Jewish if her mother is Jewish and and acts 16 seems to point in that direction. The Timothy's mother was Jewish father was Gentile, Timothy goes it had and get circumcised. Paul has some circumcised to remove any doubt because it was obviously not clear at that point if you were considered Jewish if it came through your mother. There was seem to be debate at that time so my view would be to to say yes, your father's Jewish that is legitimate legitimate genealogy there that is legitimate passing on of Jewishness from one generation to another or through the mother and in particular if you have this consciousness of being Jewish then then you should except that of course the biggest thing is being in Jesus being an issue. That's the biggest thing right which you know and we agree with but yeah I would absolutely say I'm so therefore the traditional Jew that's what's on the differ with you a father's Jewish. I consider myself Jewish. I believe God sees me as Jewish, Jewish follower of Jesus, Yeshua, I thank you sir for calling by the way, the police said have enough evidence to bring charges of bribery and corruption against Prime Minister Netanyahu, not just Maine Atty. Gen. except that are actually indict him and then a trial when a verdict would be to be a big mess but according to Caroline Glick highly respected commentator there in Israel she said is no different than this.
The investigation against Trump. In other words, it's just a hit job Dragon down let the truth come to light with his corruption on either side.
Let it come to.
It's the line of fire with your host activist author internationals leader and theologian Dr. Michael Brown voice of more cultural and spiritual revolution get into the line of fire now by calling 6643 here again is Dr. Michael Brown in the welcome to our thrilling Thursday broadcast man. Time is flying here. I got a challenge for everybody watching on YouTube and look at my big YouTube chat screen here send me some Jewish love yes and Jewish emoji. Appreciate that and my question was I wanted breathing under my Bible out the chronological Bible plan.
Yeah, and I'm in I'm in Joshua right now and I wanted to know a lot of that is going to the genealogies of the families and where the land went each family.
Is there any genealogies back from that. Still, you know, going through 11 today from the Bible. Okay, took to my knowledge, absolutely not on a not aware of it in any any verifiable, reliable way.
However, I saw a video of an ultra Orthodox Jew in Jerusalem and you say go to my house since the course.
I forget how the question came up and he said I'm gonna go with my father and his father's role. Rebecca, however far back the clan will be going to go back to Abraham. Of course that's pre-out it even more outlandish, but but he made that claim. So unlike announcing the Mansell wire, but from everything I know, no, no such records exist.
However, there are those who can trace themselves back to Erin and the priestly family through DNA and genetics that that do if if you'll get online and search for Aryan or genetic code or priestly DNA. You'll you'll find that and so in that way, not genealogically but genetically I do believe that there are some that can be traced all the way back somewhat definitively to Aaron and his descendents are not a not a geneticist but from what I understand, it seems to be reliable and certain cases, you still can you prove that it's arrow there will you have the sole tradition of people having certain names you know like like Leavy, which is is lazy and in the Bible.
Probably five or a: which is Keohane priest and you trace it back for centuries and centuries and you you ultimately trace those groups back to to one person or one clan in Israel think okay that that seems to the beer was we don't have errands DNA, but you can trace it back and in that way, 866-34-TRUTH. Let's go to buyer in London, England. Welcome to the line of fire. Hello hello you're on the air go ahead of the program. Thank you so much for letting me come through your my question is, wanted to understand you know the Scripture where it talks about turning water into wine scores and try to understand the culture of that that is happening there because you know some say that is alcoholic wind. Some saved nonalcoholic. This seems to be something about what they saying that is saying that you in the in the culture they seem to bring good wine and then after they bring in the Pauline sums these bad wine. I think I'm just trying to get an understanding of the culture to understand if it is alcoholic or nonalcoholic so it's it's it's nonalcoholic then everyone is going along with the joke Yamaha Taha turned into grape juice. Yeah, this is the best wine you saved for the last so know from everything. Understand number one wine was alcoholic and the potential effects of wine are found in Proverbs, you know that one's not for kings. For example, or Proverbs chapter 20 verse one. This is wine is is a marker at the same time one was just part of the normal culture. It was not as fermented as wine today and I was in California recently with my assistant, Dylan and there is a Jewish guy that was visiting an Italian family that was hosting us for dinner and they offered us wine and I said no thanks I wasn't drink any any anyway, my sister noticed that the kids were drinking wine with Dennis again. Some cultures that you have it like instead of water and and you never get drunk your whole life. So the Jewish culture of the day wine could be readily drunk celebrations. Things like that. And yes, normally as you drink a little bit more wine you get little bit more relaxed, and so on and so you don't have to bring out is good wine. The next round funeral notices on the Jewish cultural thing is just common sense. You know, because the people are are a little bit more relaxed and free, etc. but there is no evidence that they were drinking to drunkenness or that that would be typical so drunkenness was always considered wrong but to celebrate with wine was certainly part of the culture so I can make a very strong case server for drunkenness being sin and why we need to guard against it. I personally have abstain from liquor since I came to faith for number of reasons, but I cannot make a case that everyone should abstain from any drinking as long as they drink in moderation and the drinking doesn't cause others to stumble. Those would be big issues in Scripture, drunkenness, always wrong, but the best my knowledge it was real wine, just not as fermented as today and the goal was not to get people drunk but to just adding to their wedding celebration.
I thank you sir for asking. 866-34-TRUTH.
Let us go to wrong Ilsa right we won't go there. Let's go to Ogden, Utah Darren, you're on the line of fire. I think my call welcome wondering whether the requirement to become a rabbi me today. I've been yet.
Okay, go ahead was reading probably the same pathogen review all in where) the why or the watering line yeah and some people of that I get that that would be the responsibility of the groom, which on a break yet how the time with the Rabbi question is being married. Part of the requirement to be a rabbi. Okay, got it so that at that time New Testament times. There was no such formal title as rabbi right. This comes in after the destruction of the Temple, so also about four years after the time of Jesus. Sometime after that rabbi at that time was an honorific title so so my teacher my master that could be given to a gifted teacher or charismatic leader. So when you sure Jesus is called rabbi. When Johnny Mercer is called rabbi. That's an honorific title. There is not formal ordination as as history unfolds.
Now there are specific requirements to be a rabbi you know you do not need to be married to be a rabbi.
Many, many folks I know were ordained as rabbis before they were married. But marriage is expected and importance in Judaism you're considered to be not complete if not married, so it's a rare Jewish leader that is not marriage in traditional Judaism, but no marriage is not required. And just like you go see if you can be ordained a Presbyterian Church after the seminary get a certain degree to be ordained as rabbi and ultra-Orthodox circles you have to complete a a massive amount of study of traditional literature and be deemed proficient in that to get ordained as rabbi in the more liberal circles you go to one of their seminaries.
You complete your degree and you get ordained thereby certain studies is much less rigorous than your fruit traditional to hate, let me say this. This last thing. Thank you sir for asking others to this last thing that sometimes were told well you know Jesus is okay for the Gentiles just off of the Jews nominal is not the Messiah. The Jews, if he is not the one to fulfill was written most of the profits if he didn't die for the sins of Israel and the world that he's not the side of anybody.
The reason is the Savior of the world.
I got the side of Israel is not the same.
It's both add not either tomorrow
