Fleshly addictions. How do you break them will tackle that and more them a lot of fire stage for the line of fire with your host activist all the international speaker and theologians Dr. Michael Brown your voice of moral cultural and spiritual revolution Michael Brown is the director of the coalition of conscience and president of fire school of ministry get into the line of fire valves like always 866-34-TRUTH that's 866-34-TRUTH your Jim is Dr. Michael Brown paper and thanks for joining us today. I really hope that we will help you, bless you, strengthen you and encourage you help such a path to real freedom on the line of fire delighted to be with you. Michael Brown your voice of moral cultural and spiritual revolution. Yeah, still fighting off a cold. The couple days into it.
This is the body ache, it will this, but since have been eating healthily for 1/2 years.
I tell you, my immune system is massively better mutton night and day better than it used to be. And if I get a cold.
It's much less severe and it passes much more quickly so I'm blessed in the midst of fighting off this little sickness for those that are fighting off real serious diseases. We stand with you in faith.
That's training on every level, 866-34-TRUTH there we go okay.
I am opening up the phones today as I did yesterday we were not able to take as many calls in Israel because of some tech issues we had so if you ask me any question about anything we do on Friday phone lines wide open. You've got questions. We got answers any subject under the sun, and if you differ with me if your critical by all means call in and tell me why let's have a civil honest discussion. So the sooner you call the better chance we have of getting to your calls, 866-348-7884 before we go to the phones.
Let me start here and talk about fleshly addictions, a major key to breaking free. Why is this on my mind. It's on my mind because while on tour in Israel. I spoke to a number of people on the tour that wanted to thank me for our book.
The book Nancy and I wrote breaking the stronghold of food and one guys lost 40 pounds and is feeling so much better just telling about weight loss and change in the laws of I was blessed to hear that but as we began to talk about schedule and lifestyle. Many of them were just shocked to hear how I live at 63 years old, feeling younger literally feeling younger every year for several years now. I'm not messing with you literally been feeling younger each year for several years now and I I just had to keep pointing to healthy eating healthy eating healthy up by God's grace and I say this repeatedly, of God can help me.
You can help anyone. There is zero boasting and Mike Brown's discipline. There is zero boasting and in look at how strong I am zero. My post is in the Lord right I would be one of the most unlikely people on the planet to be a poster board for healthy eating, assisted many times not so much because I was a glutton, but because I was a lifelong on healthy eater with numerous food addictions, but I want to help you here want to help you isolate something small talk food specifically right but this, this would work in other areas of life. In terms of breaking an addiction. Here's the starting point right so let's say that you are and unhealthy eater right, maybe not as unhealthy as I was maybe more glutton whatever, but let's just say that your substantially overweight right and that your health is suffering because of it. Now the document out of told you the reason for the high blood pressure is overweight and healthy eating and high cholesterol is due to this, and the tiredness is due to this that he may just look at these are separate issues, but we had nutritional background he would likely talk you about that as well. Alright so let's it was sit out of a conversation and I Sadie you realize that if you got rid of sweets if you got with this food and that food and you ate a lot of fruit leather vegetables cover these other things and eat only these things that you lose a lot of weight automatically that your energy would be stronger that your immune system would be stronger that your blood pressure would would become normal that your cholesterol will become normal that the constant headaches you have would go away in an anomalous I go through a list like that. By the way, when you do radio with no video then when you have to blow your nose like you know something as long as there is no sound attached to it. You can un-radii could be here by here could be almost off my shirt could be torn you know of and nobody would know it, but when you do a live video feed as we do every day to strategically at your nose as you talk you have to squeeze that in.
But everybody sees it and you got my secret here today okay so I'm sitting down with you and we talked these things through. Yeah you know your have with the caffeine of his headaches all the time you feel run down all the time and so on and get some other issues we go through everything, then I Sadie all right do you realize if you made these changes that you'd be healthier if you're more energy for God, for your family that you like.
We live longer, but the years that your living you live better recognize that you say yeah but on the over the change.
Okay, we have now hit on something very important in this is the same with other fleshly addictions.
Let's get things to the bottom line. Let's isolate the whole problem many times it is. I'm not willing to change the sometimes it's I desperately want to change. I desperately want to get free from alcohol.
I want to get free from drugs. I want to get free from porn. I want to get free from gluttony. II want to get free, but I don't know how. Okay, that's another good starting point might my point is not to condemn or criticize my point is to bring us to a place of honesty and dependence.
Okay, let's start there, but start with II absolutely want to change, but I don't know how I I know my life is messed up. I know my habits are bad. I know they are dangerous, but I don't know how to change what I do. That's that's one starting point is another starting point. I know I should change, but I don't want to. I don't want to. I would rather have my food.
I would rather have my ice cream.
I would rather have my pizza.
I rather have my pasta I would rather have my burgers and fries would rather have whatever it is, my doughnuts and caffeinated coffee. It I'd rather have that slick okay so let's start with honesty. It's a big big key rather than making excuses, we all have excuses. Let's be honest, our excuses seven. Very impressive to us other people's excuses so very wimpy to us that are me.
I remember one time working out with a trainer that that work out with us a few years back and this is not a maybe six years ago and and he said you know abs begin in the kitchen.
You know we brought tight abs and all this is that because of the kitchen and diets.
The biggest part exercise secondary and I was saying yeah and I know that but you know it's hard to travel all the time on the road difficult schedule.
You'll barely time to eat, get on this plane go here, fly here, limited choices is hard in my excuses were excellent excuse. I have to be honest with you my excuses were tremendous excuses. I mean they were airtight.
I had a very very very valid case itself. I thought right from cells is everywhere man is right in his own eyes, eight friends, 866-34-TRUTH: now, and momentarily consumers surfaces introductory segment, go to your calls. Rights of phones from eyes are wide open and if you want to talk about with joy, 8663 freight 784 so I can migrate excuses and was quite justified in my own eyes. So the next day, day after that another phone is working out with us same conversation trainer saying yeah you know the biggest part is diet and he proceeds to give. They went biggest excuses I ever yellow my wife are busy with ministry and you get home is a stump cook or prepare. We have beat out the people's homes on the road.
But what wimpy excuses that I said to myself or my excuses were brilliant excuses were great and persuasive in his were terrible arrows of your minor week.
Also, in other words, if you want it overcome. You can so maybe your starting point is I have to be honest I don't really want to be free will.
That's where you go to God. That's where you start you say father I gotta confess this to say, with food.
I know I be healthier under my life would be more blessed. I know I have more energy for friends and family. I know I can help more people.
I can be a better steward of my body but I like my food.
Let's be honest, my addictions yeah I know this relationship is sinful, but I like it okay when not justifying it. The sight of God but were going to God honestly is. And God help me, help me to want to change, help me to desire to do what's right. Help me to desire walking freedom member you want to walk and situated. You have no addiction. Make it your habit is one man said to have no habits except relationship with God you love being with him, you love being in the word get off your addicted to the word. The five healthy thick we don't have any of you are walking freedom you don't want have anything that your body is dependent on your motions are dependent on outside of walking with the Lord. It's it's a wonderful place to live free cry. I am incredibly deeply, deeply grateful to God for the lust always called it, I was finishing up an appointment the other day and and receptionist coming out this it all here can be a little meant I said no thanks. Nothing was suites for me is really yes it does us. Nothing was sugar suggest you decide get you the sweet on the inside arrest is a no no no sugar all healthy sugars like in fruits and things fought was the sugar salt during the flower, etc. little girl be once we got thriving. I'm blessed your taste buds is one doctor told me years ago will crave what you feed them a favorite meal of day is a giant salad yet favorite meal you could take the best steak restaurant get a fancy steak and all that I favorite meal days salad. It's amazing look when I'm encourage you to do is start.
We are to be honest, that's all encouraging story or of the Lord. I want to change, but I don't know how I tried a million times over the goalie him honestly and every day so you gonna need your help.
I need your help. I need change my will change my desires and your help and friends. If you keep crying out to him, he will help you and suddenly you'll be able to take a step that another step, another step before you know it will be a new person. If you haven't read our book yet breaking the stronghold of food.
Get the book. You can get it in audio form you can get a Kindle E form you can get it in paperback.
Get the book. I really believe will help you in their principles and their the deal with all kinds of other addictions as well.
Breaking the stronghold of food. Remember the special Facebook page. We're breaking stronghold for that's the one you want to sign up for.
We're breaking the stronghold food were folks encourage one another on their journey rights as we come back as he will start in Canada with a question about the Brownsville revival also Brian Dalton, Jos, you are next right here on the line here on the line of fire with your host Dr. Michael Brown, the voice of more cultural and spiritual revolution. Here again is Dr. Michael Brown Michael Brown by God's grace fighting back. This cold and you know you it's interesting. I did my doctoral dissertation on the subject of the Hebrew word for healing in its ancient near Eastern context and studied the subject of divine healing for many years intensively go through the word on it over and over, wrote a monograph for Zondervan. In 1995, called Israel's divine healer, which I believe this is unique in terms of the scholarly study of God to heal, especially in Old Testament text that weakens the New Testament as well and what are my conclusions ready for mortar by most academic deep conclusions. Sickness is bad feeling is good.
Yup. Deepa Ari 866-34-TRUTH. Let's go to Brian and Kevin. What part of Canada onions are I am from New Brunswick Canada New Brunswick great all right what's on your mind will about six years ago my friend turned me onto the gravel council viral videos on YouTube and let me tell you something biggest and a blessing to watch like you can tell that the holy spirit is just in the video description, anointing, and I've been kind of in my mind putting together a timeline of all the different event that happened after those five years or so to question to you would be when and how did you get involved revival and what happened to it this or thank you for asking the question so the browser revival began Father's Day of 1995 and we generally say that it is by 2000. It had it had lain by the end of 2000. Even the guy was still moving powerfully in the church and in our school look at that.
That season of revival came to an end. About that point number one I had been involved in praying, fasting, crying out revival writing about revival for many years before this and that's how Steve Hill and I knew each other. We both become very close with Leonard Ravenhill who'd been a great champion of revival and the author of a number of books including water revival tarries credible men of prayer and some of his meetings he preach and couldn't finish the message because people would be other faces, weeping and wailing over the entire building. So we became very close. He wrote the forward for my first book on revival which came out in 1989 the title the end of the American gospel enterprise. Steve Hill came back from missionary work in Argentina lived in Lindale, Texas, right near land and gave her my book or hands are stained with blood. The commander 19 892 Steve Hill reached out to me to write an endorsement form of his books. That's how I got to know him and then in the years leading up to that I was preaching for David Wilkerson and Steve hello been through his Bible school. My hearts focused on revival outpouring and I wrote a book that came out in March 1995. Knowing something was at the door. Something was ready to break. I knew there was refreshing happening in different places, but I was waiting for this breakthrough with strong repentance, holiness, preaching emphasis on reaching the lost in the backslidden. I knew something was ready to break the book came out in March 1995. The title from holy laughter to holy fire. That's ultimately help came known closing words of the book are you ready three months later. Revival broke and browsable.
Steve Hill preached in the spirit fell and people began to repent and get right with God and began flocking in.
I didn't know about it immediately, I began to hear reports a few months into it I read a report and charisma magazine that talked about what was happening was right before everything was exploding on cell phones and Internet so it was like the instant everybody knowing about it today. By this time crowds were coming lines reforming for the meetings and things like that and finally about six months into it. I called Steve and we talked and this is Mike.
You've got to get down and visit and just taken with God's doing here.
I just happen to be in the right place at the right time of the Lord is gracious and so II was busy with my own travel schedule and couldn't get down there until May 1996. This was 11 months into the revival but by then Steve had been distributing my books to folks there and and telling them to read them so they were getting to know me before I came in and I went there right after Memorial Day. So May 1996 and immediately upon getting there.
God called me to to begin working with the team got began to speak to me very quickly about the need to raise up a ministry school to train people who were being touched in the revival. So I began to commute back and forth from Maryland to Florida spending half my week in Florida and have a week in Maryland until we moved out with our family in January 1997 when the school open Brownsville revival school of ministry. Our core team has been together. Not all of it, but the most of the core team has been together since then until this day. Browser revival school of ministry. After four years became fire school of ministry, which continues to this day.
We have branches in different parts of the world and later this year we going completely alive or your whole school online and in partnership with God TV to to reach the out the maximum audience is that we can on the one hand, the revival itself waned by the end of 2000. There is a very difficult split between the church and the school between John Kilpatrick and myself.
The enemy is this a divider and we were both pretty wiped out. At that point and the enemy divided us were friends, colleagues, coworkers, to this day. Everything got fixed again we bless one another publicly off of preached for him and his church a few months ago God's hand remained on Pastor Kilpatrick. He moved over to Alabama in a few years back.
There was another outpouring there with a great emphasis on healing the sick as well so he seen another powerful move the spirit.
Nothing is browsable but another powerful move, a Steve Hill went to be with the Lord, died of cancer a few years ago, but he was powerfully used until his dying days. Linda Cooley, the worship leader is pastoring a dynamic church in Nashville. Regards been moving an organization fire. We moved to North Carolina in 2003 with our church or school admissions organization, and although the revival itself came to an end. What God did in the revival continues to be a reality to us the burden of the vision. The calling and we continue to raise up and train students send them out around the world. So what was burst out of the revival that is the most lasting and tangible as a world missions movement. We have over hundred 50 people and probably over 20 different nations serving bearing fruit planting churches of one of our grads is Daniel Calandra who took over 100 monkeys ministry so reaching millions for the gospel in Africa. The law of our grads is Ward Simpson, who became the chairman and CEO of God TV and the emphasis of God TV as the revival is real and souls so the legacy continues. The fruit continues.
You can meet with our grads, our largest team is in the Philippines. We have over 50 men, women and children and you will be stunned by the work they're doing there for fighting human trafficking, the planting churches to ministry school that sending out missionaries to the fire of the revival continues to burn. Even though the phenom on of the revival came to an end and a certain point in time I think you you are you are very welcome and I hope the conference answer didn't give you too much information but to this day we still get stirred remembering what God did back then believing that there even greater things get ahead and we desperately needed house America house Canada to make it was your can make it without a massive outpouring massive awakening beginning in the beginning of the church right 866-34-TRUTH. Let's go to Dalton in Mississippi. Welcome to the light a fire hi Dr. Brown are you doing doing very well thank you all again, had to question going to be briefed about other people will be calling to listen to your debate with Rabbi Daniel Friday and made a statement will toward the end that a privately where it said that you do not have to be perfect to be right and I thought I was a stunning quote and I know you mentioned that you know what sacrifice with the only atonement, and recently I listened to another debate.
Rabbi slowly and also in the same thing on about not really the Neoplatonic thought more or less of two question first. What is your view of doctors of perfection because I've heard for most my life. You know where your work not guilty rationale were right on going out and evidently perfect blotting great Jesus and the my second is more like an explanation. The more they turn in the word just more on the subject of blood atonement in the library is still necessary not just to repent God writes a list of the second issue when God gave the Lord Israel, knowing that it would be impossible for Israel to keep it. He put within the law within the Torah and atonement system so that join together with repentance we could receive forgiveness and cleansing because of uncleanness of our shortcomings in our sins and our rebellion so that was there from day one God make you clear that there was a substitution taking place that the innocent was suffering on behalf of the guilty and it was a life for life exchange and ultimately points to the Messiah and to the cross.
That's the first thing that was there that was necessary. It's never become unnecessary.
This because there's no temple standing in those sacrifices that can be offered listening still not required. We say it's fulfilled through the cross.
So this is God's way of dealing with our imperfections and our sins and atonement system where there can be forgiveness now Julius was a righteous person lives righteously. Does give the preponderance of their life is doing good and doing righteous deeds. But like any other human being they fall short so they turn to God in repentance and asked for forgiveness and is merciful and I would say yeah true to all of that, but you still need atonement, there still needs to be some justice, some punishment, some payment for said I have no problem singing on up to be perfect to be righteous as long as you have atonement system, as long as you have a method for being forgiven. So you fall short US got to forgive you the pattern of your life.
You want to serve God please him, honor him, but you fall short.
So there's an atonement system. Return to gun repentance.
God forgive me mercy on me, wash me, cleanse me adheres the blood atonement to take my place to pay for my sins.
Without that we cannot be righteous in ourselves.
Without that honor very very best holiest day we still fall short of the voice also letters home and may send a thank you, learning, and gives the line of fire with your host Dr. Michael Brown, the line of fire now by calling 866-34-TRUTH here again is Dr. Michael Brown hey are you a critic of mine you you differ with me to take issue with my positions become saved, heretic Mark but use of God, morality, want to call it. I get I look to file your hate mail file in and I by the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of hateful comments and websites and YouTube videos. We get blessed all the time and I think there's a crown of honor that were doing the right thing and therefore getting some flack for it, but a lot of folks post comments and don't call in sick I'm wrong on something one not call him and tell me now email be able to understand. Maybe the missed work and using a podcast afterwards. I'm glad you listen at least. But I would encourage you if you're critic if you differ with me if you think I'm wrong, give me a call. I promise to be civil on my end.
I 866-34-TRUTH.
Let us take some calls today on one of fire starting in Pennsylvania with Jos. Welcome to the line of fire and Michael roundabouts are you going to back doing good, site site called but otherwise great.
I'm blessed thank you sir I have a question, make it real quick on the blood of Jesus Christ and on. I was reading Verse 53 and Jesus Christ of blue like talking about. No one had life without/blood. Now I know that I've been a couple years old glory of God, but the blood of Jesus Christ know I felt like a lady.
Other than wanting or going buddy about the blood of Jesus Christ house wondering if you have any book that you know of that many go and so and I encourage you that you know that the future for all project of the Lord great buyer write a book on the blood of the awesome but yeah why not being talked about a lot and I wear and validate electric is very powerful in them below the church beneath the really get a understanding revelation of the blood clot is so first let's start here.
The immediate book that comes to mind is a classic by Andrew Murray the power of the blood of Jesus. You can get it hardcover paperback e-book readily available fact on Kindle Amazon Kindle $0.99 for the e-book I Andrew Murray was the South African pastor and author of forest in the 1800s, and his books are incredible reads to the stay with Christ in the school. Prayers is one of my favorites with power the blood of Jesus.
If I was in the store with anyone book. That's right.
So with heat. He is wonderful. In terms of in terms of our spiritual focus and scripture foundations he does get into flaky weird things so that's a great place to start.
Andrew Murray, the power of the blood of Jesus.
I've written Jos in terms of answering Jewish objections to Jesus.
I've written about the meaning of atonement, and why the blood and the key thing is that it says in Leviticus 1711, that the reason God gave of blood sacrifices for atonement is that the life of the flesh is in the blood.
So when the blood is drained, the life is gone now look, people can die of a heart attack.
People can suffocate people can drown.
They can dive a disease with so many different ways to die, but the shedding of blood is a very graphic way. Here the blood is shed in front of your eyes. The life drains out. So when the sacrificial victim is kill and the life drains out that the blood is the sign of the life, the blood is the sign of the substitute.
The blood is the sign of of taking one's place so blood was spilled for you that there's two images that come with it. One image that comes with it is life for life so that wife bloodshed poured out as opposed to someone just dying in their sleep. That's vivid right they died for me, but also the nature of blood is as a liquid. The Bible speaks was being cleansed by the blood and the night that I really surrender to the Lord December 17 of 1971, having been under deep conviction of sin. In the weeks leading up to that and now that night in this service the little church in Queens, New York overcome with the joy of the Lord singing these these little hymns and worship you are so different than the rock music. I was used to singing these hymns, I became overcome with the joy of the Lord which revealed to me the love of God and suddenly in my minds eye I saw this clear vision. I've been filthy head to toe dust covered with dirt, muck and mire in the blood of Jesus wash me completely clean up at these beautiful white robes on the and I was going out and playing back in the modern Xmas of Lord I'll never put the needle in my arm again. That vision was so clear about being cleansed by the blood and and some of my favorite songs that we sign power of the blood. So why don't we talk about it more of because we've gotten off-center sir because we've we've got our focus on other things on secondary things because so much of our preaching and teaching has strayed from the center of the cross and in your call is a great reminder to all of us to study afresh the blood of Christ to preach about it to write about it to sing about it, the celebrated May those who are called to write songs and those who worship leaders may we go back to singing a lot about the blood. I believe it would bring transformation in our churches if we do offer my brother God bless you I love you I love everything you do. Keep all of the passion that bold Thank you so much God bless hey II know Jos's and Pennsylvania, but he had that New York sound and spirit to him. Which reminds me this Sunday early evening meeting in Glen Cove by different pastor David Harwood reported on the show. Talk about the love of God, of preaching the home derogation gobbling Sunday morning and the right here in North Carolina right after that fly out to Long Island will put on our itinerary. Make sure you have all the info posted on social media, but if you can join me that silly public meeting. I'm doing up at some private meetings in the New York area radio show, but that will be in Glen Cove so North Shore Nassau County long island coming in for Dave Harwood pestered a Providence congregation. This will invite you anywhere near there. One of our regular listeners. By all means come and join us 866-34-TRUTH by the way, that's a great time to call wheel for the fall is very rare. We have an open line, but got open line or two if you want to call now is a great time to get through a let's go over to Virginia Beach.
Josh, welcome to the line of fire. Are you doing today and well.
Thank you. Question about an annual 1810 the next day you will spirit from God came forcefully on all and I was wondering about that a correct and blatant conflict that God felt that God actually an evil spirit on all like the product recall, you will spirit to do that or simply allow it to happen like you never will because you know you're always told I got it out. Author not and can't empty with no other question right so so for sure God is not the author of sin, but God is the God of the entire universe, and ultimately Satan and demonic spirits cannot go beyond what he lets them go. Whatever free reign they have taken at any point, stop it or cut it back or curtail it because he's God, there's nothing wrong with that with the translation of the translation is pretty much just sing with the Hebrew says it's the interpretation. So there. There are two ways to look at it one way is that God actively sent a demonic spirit to torment salt because of his sin right so it would be like God say okay you go here and do this, the other would be that God being sovereign, and knowing exactly how the devil and his demons operation of basically removes protection or say opens a window knowing that the enemy is going to come through that window. Hence, as you said allows a in in either event, she's the one who takes final responsibility for that would be the key thing if he allows it. If he sends it. There are differences there, but ultimately God is the one taking responsibility not limited to slow further in our credit answers simply as possible. If you read in second Samuel 24 one. You'll see it says that the anger of the Lord incited David to number Israel.
If you read in first Chronicles 21, one, you'll see that it says Satan incited the Lord to incited Tuesday incited David to number Israel. So he put them together. Obviously, because God was angry with David for some reason that he then allowed Satan to incite David, but in the first passage, 24 one, which is is an older one that's that's written hundreds of years before Chronicles God takes full responsibilities as the anger of the Lord incited David, but we know from first Chronicles 21 one that it was Satan that did the dirty work right so my understanding would be that Satan is always looking for access to attack to destroy the duty can't hurt us and to harm us, and in certain circumstances that God will allow that to happen. Remove protection and in Old Testament terms. He will take responsibility for. We have further revelation about the activity of Satan, we are further revelation in the New Testament about our authority over Satan. But in Job one after Satan's might still open and kills us his kids and takes all his possessions.
Job says the Lord gave, and the Lord took away blessed be the name of the Lord and that was a godly thing for him to say all that he knew was that God was God and God was in control. He know by the devil. He didn't have that insight that we have today so all he knew was that I was God. God was in control, God game all the stuff that we took and was actually technically Satan, he took away in an Job speaking with his understanding said God took away but ultimately God allowed so the simplest explanation to me is that Satan is always trying to attack and destroy in certain cases, God will remove his hand of protection or blessing. And in that sense here. It is an evil spirit from God that it was God's will that Saul come under judgment for his sin and part of that was reaping what he sold and the right thing for him to read because of what he sold was demonic torment I could've also been God's way of trying to bring Saul to cry out to him for help and mercy.
Ultimately that's why he recruited David play the harp further in the spirit would leave but the godsend that you got allow it to sides of the same coin. Ultimately, in my view of but the so evil involved.
This is a matter of someone sitting coming in judgment percent in the coming under certain level of torment because of that five dollars allowance will what have I thank you sir. It's the line of fire with your host activist, author, international speaker and theologian Dr. Michael Brown and voice of more cultural and spiritual revolution get into the line of fire now by calling 6643 here again is Dr. Michael Brown. I post on Facebook and Twitter as if you have a big Bible theology question not disbursement but a big Bible or theology question a posted and I'll do my best to answer on Mondays. Show shack given you like about 30 Mondays to end great quest.
Great questions posted on this but look at some of talk about asking for trouble. Boy you have some great questions.
What will get to get as many as we can.
Days ahead. Questions you posed right now were going to the phones, 866-34-TRUTH with good Alabama Ryan. Welcome to the line of fire.
I got room record in about your love and underdeveloped in the Holy Spirit. A couple years ago and I do think the have not been able to defeat the area in my life and I was wondering on a reversal like this to the people enter into the kingdom you know so like I read those verses are not prevalent and you know I believe that you will know. Taken that fan even the nature and place it upon himself on the cross thousands one or what in your personal life and how have you overcome things that whited you down and you just feel defeated and you can get out of the rut right first. First, let me encourage you that the blood of Jesus really does cleanse us from sin, that when we asked for forgiveness. God does forgive and that the dangerous place is when you walk in a way that's is all you do what I want to do and I don't care, and there is no repentance. There is no turning to God. There is no contrition. That's that's a very dangerous place to be to be struggling so that all of us go through in one area of our lives or another. So the first thing is that God really is a deliverer and if we will cry out to him and cry out to him and seek him, he will bring liberty. He will bring help. So the first. He always encourages just just go after him and just don't don't like condemnation and discouragement stop you keep crying out keep crying out for breakthrough. All right, let's go to Henry in New Zealand is recalling sir, we are good. Great you to Google Brown well on your side you are and then you got the New Zealand accent and and all that so that's awesome what extreme out of my way. Dr. Brown according to the member little bit of a predicament. So I was raised in the church on a lark and for the past three or four. You have a few loss of the family unit. Every funeral that I've been through by listening to the minister regarding her funeral and he's saying there and be replaced looking down will not know to reach the didn't I go to the Scriptures to try and find weird is that he's actually saying that and I find something completely different, which is the resurrection of the deed thousands wondering if you could actually speak to what withholding the church all right and are you good all that we race that we wait for the coming of the Lord, and think you break us from the did what I am in trouble with it yet. So first, the idea that folks are watching us from the world to come and do this there looking at the funeral right now that that would be speculation that would not be found in Scripture salutes let's put that aside, the question is do we.
Upon death we close our eyes and were basically asleep and when we open our eyes.
Next conscious moment resurrected and and with the Lord forever right at his return or beyond death. Do we go in a spiritual sense does not have our bodies into the presence of God. So we are enjoying his presence and others are separated from him the place of punishment and then we will await the resurrection. So are we conscious now between death and resurrection, or are we sleeping all soul sleep actually Christians have divided over this knows this is not an area of heresy or some that would disqualify one from being in the faith. There is debate over this but the reason that I believe that we are conscious after death is is a number of verses that point in that direction. One would be in Luke 23 when Jesus says to the thief on the cross. Truly, truly, I say to you today you will be with me in paradise. So that would seem to point quite clearly the thief on the cross being with Jesus in a place of blessing after death. That's one passage. Another passage would be Philippians 1 repulses he's not sure if he's going to be put to death or not, whether he's going to be martyred at that point or not. And he said that that if he dies he would go to be with Jesus, which is far better but he thinks it's necessary for the good Philippians to stay in the flesh while longer. So I decide to depart and be with Jesus uses which is far better that would be another passage indicating consciousness after death. Second Corinthians the fifth chapter says. Therefore, absent from the body were present from the Lord but were unclothed. We all have our resurrection body so were still looking forward to that, but were in the Lord's presence and then Revelation 6. It speaks of the souls of those who were beheaded who were martyred who are before the throne of God and their crying out for their vindication that we have Luke 16 someone say it's a parable, but it does mention someone's name Lazarus to the rich man and Lazarus.
Even if it's a parable is a parable based on truth or falsehood and thereupon death. Lazarus goes into Abraham's bosom. So place of blessing, and the rich man goes to a place of punishment so because of those verses. I personally believe that after death, if were God's people. We go immediately into his presence and if or not we go to a place of punishment, but we still look forward to the final resurrection, that is the rate final event and were in kind of a temporary holding stage. Until then okay okay stucco number all makers in the book Revelation, it talks about how the judgment and when I hear and think about the teaching that we execute health strata. Doesn't that make God unjust because these sending people to write about the actual trial.
If it makes no I was I would look at it that someone is arrested for a crime and they're in jail awaiting trial. Okay, so the crime is been committed there rested but they can have their day in court in this case, God knows perfectly. Who's guilty and is not guilty when the final sentencing is is past, but I would look at it like that someone committed a crime. They are in jail right and it's just that they're in jail, they been arrested, maybe their bail threats of this no bail and and then the judge. The date will come when they get their formal sentence and then will be sent off to maybe a federal penitentiary. But right now they're in prison awaiting trial. That's all would look at it. Those that are lost versus those of the save the other thing is from God's perspective, it's perfectly natural that upon death. Those that are his go to be with him. Those who are not go to the place of separation. It's it's as natural as as breathing in that respect that it it it wouldn't be like God has to sort them out those that are his or his will automatically go to be with him. Those are not are separated again. I I don't I don't divide over this and I don't say someone as a heretic. If they believe in soul sleep. But all these other passages you can review them. You can go back, listen to the broadcasts or they do speak clearly of conscious existence after death and that to me is something very comforting as well. Obviously if I close my eyes when I next open them with the Lord forever. That's the same outcome ultimately but the sense of immediately go to be with him or loved one snowing hey really have a loss right now is yourself Jesus is saying, hey, great to talk to those in the ceiling two days I so your holy LSU man
