855-212-4CBS. I gave you a new top six list talking about teams that are best positioned to go on a run in the playoffs and ultimately to the Super Bowl. We've had a lot of injuries in the NFL. Von Miller is out.

ACL. Jimmy Garoppolo is out. His foot.

Lamar Jackson is week to week. A knee. Patrick Mahomes is dealing with a foot injury. He's like, hey, it's a bruised foot.

What do you want from me? It's just bruised. And we just have the fortunes changing for a lot of teams in the NFL right now. Thank you to Anthony Pierano hanging out here with us, holding it down on the boards.

If you want to reach me, if you're not going to call, you can contact me at JR Sport Brief on all social media. And we've talked about Aaron Judge and his contract. I'm sure by now you've heard that Zander Bogarts, he is no longer a member of the Boston Red Sox. He's agreed to an 11-year, $280 million deal with the Padres. And so whenever Fernando Tatis Jr. comes back, I'm sure his ass will be in the outfield.

And so there's been a lot that we've discussed, a lot that we've talked about so far tonight. Wilson Contreras going to the Cardinals from the Cubs. But let's get back to the top six list. Teams that are best positioned to maybe go on a run here. At number six, I gave you the Cincinnati Bengals, four straight wins. At number five, I gave you the San Francisco 49ers, obviously a falling here.

It's unfortunate. I would have loved to seen what they did with Jimmy Garoppolo, but the world will never know. At number four, I gave you the Dallas Cowboys. I would say one of the most, if not the most, well-rounded team in the NFL, along with Buffalo. Offense is clicking, passing game is catching up. The defense has stars on every level. And they might bring in Odell. God knows what he has. Dallas Cowboys already putting out, you know, a kind of warning signals that he may not be all the way healthy.

And number three, I gave you Buffalo. Von Miller, we know is out. Unfortunately for the season, they found out his ACL is busted up.

And a matter of fact, I want you to hear this. Josh Allen, he talked about Von Miller being out. He said he spoke to Von Miller on the phone after his surgery. And Josh Allen knows, hey, all of us, everybody has to step up. This is what Josh Allen had to say.

Listen. Yeah, I talked to him yesterday, last night, after surgery. Obviously sucks losing him, guy of his caliber, you know, what he came here to do and helped his team out. You know, I don't know when he's coming back, but, you know, he's coming back and just to have his presence in the locker room and, you know, teaching guys still, I think that's going to be a big help for us. Obviously we wish he's out there, you know, with us and we're, we're praying for him. We're keeping him in our hearts. But the only way is forward.

And, you know, guys got to step up and collectively we got to come together and, you know, try to, I guess I've come together and diminish his absence as much as possible. Yeah, listen, Von Miller can teach everybody that he wants, but he ain't going to teach anybody to be him. I got Buffalo at number three. They had success before Von Miller. Ain't no damn guarantees that they're going to continue to have success there.

They're missing a big piece there. I have them at number three. At number two, team's best situated down the stretch to go on a run Kansas City, man, Patrick Mahomes is always tough to root against.

And at number one, I gave you the Eagles. They have a record of 11 and one. Their offense is ranked second. I think they have a great opportunity to control the ball in the time of possession with that run game. They have big play receivers. The Eagles have to go out there and quote unquote prove it in crunch time. That's one thing that we haven't seen Jalen Hurts do in the biggest of games. I think he's likely to walk away with the MVP award unless the Eagles just fall flat as a team and their defense not too shabby, adding adding impact players, putting in Dominick and Sue there on the front line. Their defense has some of the best corners in the game, best defensive backs in the game, and I think the Eagles are are set up here for a nice run.

Let's see if they can actually get over the hump or whether or not they need to go back to the playoffs and get punched in the mouth. 855-212-4CBS, 855-212-4CBS. Sean is calling up from Tyler, Texas. You're on the JR sport brief show.

Hi JR, yeah this is Sean. I just wanted to give my two cents about the Dallas Cowboys. Everything I've ever seen throughout my history is to win a Super Bowl you need a special caliber team. A team that breaks records and if everybody's noticed the last couple of games of the Cowboys they've just been setting record after record.

Franchise scoring records, all different types of records. The other point I would also like to make to you JR is something I've always been taught is a good team beats you by a score. A great team doesn't let a penalty or something like that mess up the win. So if you notice most of the Dallas Cowboys wins when they've been hanging points on their opponents it's not been beating them by three points on the last two seconds or a field goal or a last second touchdown they've been just putting it on them. That's the reason why personally I think the Cowboys are going to go all the way this year.

Okay well thank you so much Sean for calling from Texas. I mean they whoop the Colts ass sure. The Colts got a guy out there who yeah he was a great center in the NFL he never played. They smashed the Minnesota Vikings so you got to give them all the credit in the world there. Smashed the Chicago Bears dismantling the defense throughout the course of the year. They beat up the Lions okay granted. Lost to the Eagles. Beat the Rams.

I mean we can we can go back we can go back through some time here. I'm not taking anything away because I think they're great trust me. I don't necessarily got a horse in the race but I would love to see the Dallas Cowboys actually have success because we have people who just take solace and and giving the Cowboys crap for no reason. For what? Like who cares? Jerry Jones is entertaining him. He's entertaining.

He's like a cartoon character. It's like turning on South Park and seeing a character of a football owner. That's what Jerry Jones is. 8-5-5-2-1-2 for CBS. That's 8-5-5-2-1-2 for CBS.

Team's best position to win the Super Bowl. Let's go up to Seattle. Let's talk to George. George you're on the JR Sport Brief Show.

Hi JR. Thanks. I lost you earlier but you got a nice selection of teams but there's no love there's no love for Seattle. They're in position to probably win the West no doubt with the remaining schedule they have and the coach's ability to make adjustments. I just think they're in a good position to go to Dallas or Minnesota and beat either one of those teams.

Where? In Madden or in real life? Okay well you know Geno's performing quite well. He probably leads the NFC in passing completions and he's playing well and their defense is young granted but their corners are good.

George come here. I appreciate the the Homerism and the enthusiasm. Do you really see the Seahawks winning a damn thing this year?

Do you? Well I see them win in the West. Okay okay so you think San Francisco will fall off and so okay fine. Seattle goes to the playoffs and what happens when they get there?

Well depending on who they play in the first round I haven't seen Dak perform all that well. Okay so the Seahawks can ultimately win the NFC West and then they can go to the playoffs and maybe surprise anybody but you know you know just as well as I do the Seattle Seahawks they're not legitimate contenders man. Can you admit that with me George? Can we be honest here?

Well they're thin and you're okay. Okay you don't want to be honest George but you know deep down Seattle ain't doing nothing man. It's a wing and a prayer.

Well there's nothing wrong with that. I think we all need a little bit of that in life. I appreciate you man. I appreciate you too. Have fun in Seattle. I will thank you so much George and I can't wait to get out West. I can't keep up with where the hell I've been.

I don't know. I think I might as well live in Baltimore and DC right now next week and I'll be out in Phoenix and Portland just all over the place. 855-212-4CBS that's 855-212-4CBS. You know one of our callers mentioned you know Odell and Odell could make a difference but not going to be too mad if Odell doesn't come on and make a difference and you know Demarcus Lawrence said it doesn't make sense to bring him in if he's not going to contribute this year if he's only going to be a circus. It's rather interesting 855-212-4CBS. Antoine he's calling from Cleveland Ohio you're on the JR Sport Brief Show. Hey JR. What's going on?

What's up? I just wanted to know out of the teams that you pick why do people eliminate the Vikings? They're having an excellent year. They're playing good football.

I think they should be in that top six. Well I don't take the Vikings serious. A lot of this has to do with their defense. They give up a lot of defense. They give up a lot of defense. They give up a lot of passing yards in the air. They have they give up a lot of points almost 23 per game.

When it comes to actually stopping somebody in a key moment I'm not necessarily gonna hang my hat on them. No I'm just they've been winning football games and but I understand what you're saying. I just wanted to have your intake on what the Vikings about why nobody picked the Vikings. I always thought because they always get to the dance and they always lose.

Well it's unfortunate that's the that's a big part of their history. A lot of people know that and thank you Antoine for calling from Cleveland. Am I really going to be fully sold on on Kirk Cousins?

I can be sold on Kirk Cousins and his connection to Justin Jefferson. I really can and the Minnesota they have names on the defense as well. They just give up a lot of points. I can see them just just having to be in a shootout and it not ending positive for them. I think they are more well-rounded teams. I think it's amazing what they've done with first year head coach Kevin O'Connell. I was able to go out to the Vikings practice facility earlier this year and we we did a great video shoot with Special Olympics and had a Special Olympics athlete with us and had a chance to talk to coach and some of the players and they're awesome.

What they're doing out there is absolutely amazing but the defense is is where I'm concerned and I think that they would let a team run rough shot through them. We're back and forth. 855-212-4CBS.

It's 855-212-4CBS. Matt is calling from Sacktown. What's up Matt? Hey what's going on brother?

What's going on? Let's take one call. I kind of want to jump in on a Seahawks fan that got some got some very very bold predictions on the NFC West. Yards allowed. Points given up per game. The 49ers lead the league in most defensive stats. Even with the quarterback who you know doesn't put on tape we all know Mr.

Relevant, Brock Furdy. The Niners aren't throwing for four to five hundred yards a game anyways. You know we don't throw 40 40 passes and you know we all know how that team is built and it's built to run the ball down your throat and let the playmakers do their do their job.

Deebo, Kittle, Iyuk, Christian McCaffrey. As long as that defense holds up on their end and they've been very very dominant this season the 49ers are still going to win that division. So you're saying all of this in response to a Seahawks fan who's who admitted that he's holding on to a dream and a prayer? Well you know it yes initially I am responding to him but it's this I think narrative in the in the NFL media right now that the 49ers are suddenly going to fall off the cliff because Jimmy Garoppolo has a broken ankle. Well let's I mean I think you also have to be realistic too. It's not that they are going to fall off a cliff and I can't speak to what anyone else has to say.

I've spent the last hour talking about it. I specifically went into detail about the 49ers and said everything that you just did but would you would you not feel more comfortable if Jimmy Garoppolo was the quarterback? Wouldn't you feel that they had a better chance of succeeding with him at QB than Purdy? Isn't that that obvious?

Yeah I think that the familiarity is is definitely uh he's been in this offensive system for five years now. Well Matt I asked is it yes or no not the explanation yes or no? Sure but yeah sure yes the answer's yes.

So what are you upset about? But not by much because okay because check this out the 49ers this season have struggled to score the ball. I mean offensively they haven't been a juggernaut. I think they're ranked 16th in the league in passing offense. They move the ball but they struggle to put it in the end zone.

So I do I understand what you're saying and what people are saying but and not as much as you. It's just this whole kind of like narrative that's been built since Jimmy's gone down last week is is that they're they're not they're still not a favorite in the NFC and I and I disagree. Well it's it's it's tough to hold them in that same regard.

You know this experience counts for a lot as well and thank you Matt for calling from Sacramento. You don't think Purdy's gonna have nerves? You don't think they're concerned about how he's gonna perform? You don't think there's an instance where they go oh my god here we are in the playoffs and we need to to get a drive here in the fourth quarter and that they go man we hope that he he does it and he doesn't turn the football over?

I mean this past this past Sunday against the Miami Dolphins when the 49ers beat the Dolphins he had two touchdowns he had two INTs. We have no idea what the hell this man is going to do for the rest of the season we don't know. As much as Jimmy Garoppolo is criticized and he's picked on and he's picked up and he's beat up and he's also hurt we know who and what he is when he plays. Like for the most part yeah I can I can trust him to quote unquote be a a super game manager every now and then he'll let it rip he can help move the ball he he ain't Tom Brady he's not my homes we know he's not there but we know who he is we have no idea who and what Purdy is.

Go look at some of the bum-ass NFL teams in the league the ones who have quarterbacks who just scared the living hell out of you. Is he going to turn the ball over? Is he going to fumble the football? Does he know how to progress the football? Is he going to you know take what might be a a one-yard loss? Is he going to go out there and turn it into a 15-yard loss because he's making ridiculous decisions?

We don't know what Purdy's going to do. He ain't been there and we haven't seen him and so I think it's actually a credit to the 49ers when you can look at them and say man the defense can still keep them alive they only give up 15 points per game we know they do a damn good job at running the football they have one of the most diverse offenses in the league a power offense with skilled guys that are ridiculous we know this but to think that they didn't fall off that much just because Purdy is taking over and and Garoppolo is gone and they should still be okay yeah they should still be okay but we don't know to what extent. 8-5-5-2-1-2 for CBS that's 8-5-5-2-1-2 for CBS we're talking about NFL teams that are best equipped down the stretch who and what team is positioning themselves the best way possible to go on a Super Bowl run at number one I gave you the Eagles. I'm going to take more of your calls on the other side it's the JR sport re-show CBS sports radio. You're listening to the JR sport brief on CBS sports radio you're listening to the JR sport brief on CBS sports radio I even got my wife into listening to you man you know like when I come home at night she already have you on like walking the house I'm getting out the car and you know and then I'm walking in the house and I'm still hearing you man. Call in now at 8-5-5-2-1-2 for CBS that's right it's the JR sport brief show CBS sports radio I gave you a top six list NFL teams best positioned to have success down the stretch number six Cincinnati five I gave you the 49ers number four I gave you the Dallas Cowboys and number three I gave you the Buffalo Bills number two I gave you Kansas City and the number one I gave you the Eagles healthy all things considered I think well-rounded and we have to see if they quote unquote get over the hump I just changed my mind on them I was looking at Kansas City for a while I think things and everybody's gonna have to go to Kansas City they've had they've been the team that has had the most success over the past several years just going to the Super Bowl going to the conference championship you look at Patrick Mahomes and it's just like if he has a chance to throw that that rock around man he's tough he's tough to beat especially if you get into a shootout ask the Buffalo Bills 8-5-5-2-1-2 for CBS it's 8-5-5-2-1-2 for CBS Chuck is calling from Brooklyn New York you're on the JR Sport Brief Show Chuck what's up hey thank you for taking our call sure um I'm a big time Eagles fan man and 2017 we still got some veterans on our team and got the job done they understand what it takes to get to the Super Bowl so people are forgetting that Dallas doesn't have anybody you know as far as NSC is concerned no one on the NSC side is how anyone to take them to the Super Bowl we still have Lane we still have Kelsey we still got Fletcher Cox we still got Brandon Graham who's been to the Super Bowl who actually knows what it takes to get there I think it's I think it's different when you have older complementary players who are playing on the line versus the the leader of the team like the dude who's driving the whole bus is Jalen Hurts and he's having an MVP caliber season he will probably be the MVP over Patrick Mahomes it depends on where the numbers end up at the end of the year both in the win-loss column and both individually but it's it's different yeah there's there's there's support there and I mean when you have somebody like like Kelsey who's pretty much said to Jalen Hurts like you're the guy like it's you right now I think that that stands and says a lot and the team supports and believes in Jalen but now he has to go forth and do it I don't think it's Graham or Cox or Kelsey or any of the dudes that that were there for the upset it's it's about them getting over the hump and and Jalen Hurts has to do be the one to do it I believe he has it in him I mean he has his best friend with him I think you know I think he I think he has it in him too he just has to do it skill position we have every every skill position covered yes we can go down to names AJ and and Smith and Brown nobody talks about miles we can look we can go down the whole roster he just has to do it Chuck let's see if it happens okay all right thank you for taking my call thank you so much Chuck for calling from BK 855-212 for CBS team's best position to go on a Super Bowl run Rodney is here from Georgia you're on CBS Sports Radio hey JL brother what's happening man I'm very well what's on your mind man I hate to say it but I got a bad feeling that the Bucks is gonna be the ones because NSC South sucks right now and what they did to the Saints killed me because I wanted him to lose but you know when Brady makes the playoffs what he owned the playoffs for years so you know when he gets there again this could possibly be his last year and it seems like the stars are lined up and the whole NFL will be how to stop Tom Brady when he makes that run that's what I'm thinking that's why they're the best team equipped because of who they got at the quarterback when they make the playoffs man I don't want to take it I'm a Falcons fan but it is what it is man the truth be told I hope not Rodney I hope not man just I hear what you're saying but and and the thought of Tom Brady like you can never count the guy out we know that we watched him on Monday night with his 44th comeback victory just just ridiculous but but here's the thing the offensive line the offensive line is crap right now and they are struggling to score points one of the worst offenses in the entire NFL and it's not Tom Brady's fault it's it's the fact that he doesn't necessarily have the same protection he has a bunch of guys coming off of injury there's no continuity at the line and so yes it's kind of a half and half situation you can never count out Tom Brady I think we know that it's like saying man I'm I'm never gonna catch a cold don't say never because you gonna catch it eventually and he's he's here he's not going anywhere but I just for multiple rounds in the playoffs I don't know about them putting up enough points Rodney but I got you my man thank you so much for calling from Georgia is that the last is that the last story we get from Tom Brady I mean what's more likely that Tom Brady goes to the playoffs this year and you know maybe wins around maybe and then he gets eliminated and looks miserable in the process or that Tom Brady goes on another Super Bowl run like he can't right it's it's not gonna happen we don't need that anymore I think it's more likely that he just uh falls apart I hope had enough of that guy 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS that's 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS Frank is calling from Buffalo go ahead Frank how we doing JR thanks for taking my call sure yeah I obviously I'm from Buffalo I'm mafia you know all the way through but I'm not calling to talk about the bills I obviously think that they you know defend their own stance perfectly what I'm talking about is I'm a Vikings fan and I think they're underrated I know you had a couple calls already to you know come in for them but I look at the NFC and I really don't you know for two reasons I I feel like they they win close games I mean that's a fact they win close score games now should they be in those games maybe not but they are and the final way to win and number two if they can keep the game close at the biggest they have Justin Jefferson Justin Jefferson is you know arguably the best non-quarterback playmaker in the league and I just think that a team like San Francisco and a team like Tampa Bay like these teams are struggle to score and if they catch they catch one of these guys I just think Minnesota's got more than they do I think they're I think you're going to see them in the conference and at least the NFC championship okay well let's see if it happens thank you Frank for calling from from Buffalo if we were in the playoffs right now would I take Minnesota over Philadelphia no no no I wouldn't I know they beat them but no no I wouldn't if we were in the playoffs right now would I take Minnesota over Dallas as much as Dallas is almost a case of when are they gonna choke the nope no I wouldn't I would not take the Minnesota Vikings over Dallas and I think we all sat down and and watched Dallas hand them an ass whooping are they gonna hand out another one probably not to what is it 40 to 3 and I guess we'll find out in a a couple of weeks for Minnesota man I just I don't believe in the defense I don't and I don't fully trust Kirk Cousins to just go on a shootout for multiple weeks I don't I'm sorry I'm just being honest here if I see Kirk Cousins hoist the Vince Lombardi trophy I'm just gonna look and say well damn he the first thing he needs to shout and scream if he wins is what do you think of that isn't that what he yelled when he was with Washington something like that he needs to yell that again you're listening to the jr sport brief on cbs sports radio you're listening to the jr sport brief on cbs sports radio you're such a man of the people though you take more calls than any sports personality I've ever known and to take words out of your mouth pardon me we appreciate you man call in now at eight five five two one two four cbs it's the jr sport brief show here on cbs sports radio and I mean damn yeah we're talking about the nfl right now but I'm sure you just heard no Xander Bogarts is going to be joining the San Diego Padres 11-year contract 280 million dollars the the Padres man they're still going for it it's tough I mean they still well they got the guy who got ringworm he said he got the steroid positive test from ringworm that's uh Fernando Tatis jr you still got Manny Machado out there you were able to bring in someone who probably didn't didn't even live up to this full potential yet and and and Juan Soto in San Diego you still have a ridiculously deep starting rotation Darvish and Snell and Musgrove clevenge they did the Padres just got to stay healthy man but I think that's impossible for Fernando he's probably on a motorcycle going zero to 100 right now on a dirt road somewhere they they have to get something done I mean damn Padres are just you're stacking them up eight five five two one two four cbs let's get to more of your calls here on the nfl as as we wrap up talking about just who's best positioned to go on a run let's go to San Jose California and talk to Jared you're on cbs sports radio what's up Jared hey how you doing man thanks for taking my call sure so I gotta ask what are your opinions on the 49ers they keep dealing with injuries at the quarterback position which I feel is the most important position but 30 look good do you think that defense should take them well we I've talked I have and thank you Jared for calling from San Jose if you missed a minute or second you can hit rewind on the free odyssey app I got no problem I had let me let me give you my list one more time top six nfl teams down the stretch and number six I gave you Cincinnati and number five I gave you the 49ers at four I gave you the Dallas Cowboys at three I gave you Buffalo at two Kansas City and at number one it was the Eagles if you want full explanations on all of the above if you want full explanations on all of the above you can listen to the last hour on the free odyssey app but having said that we kind of talked about this earlier in the show even as a separate matter I believe the 49ers will be okay but they're not in the same place I don't think they have the same type of upside or the same potential as if Jimmy Garoppolo was there and that's that's not discounting the 49ers are saying they're gonna fall off the face of the earth or they're gonna stink or be terrible or fall into the abyss but we don't know who and what Purdy is you don't think if there was a better option that they could bring in that they they wouldn't do so they're already very creative with the weapons that they have they have two dudes between Samuel and Christian McCaffrey who certainly can can generate offense I'm expecting these guys to throw touchdowns and pitches to each other it's it's gonna happen the defense is ranked number one so they're not going anywhere but the the possibility or the probability of that happening with with Purdy at quarterback it's it's been lowered there's just facts the next level after him is me playing quarterback I'm sorry can he have success yeah he can but how the hell would how the hell would I know how the hell would anybody know eight five five two one two four CVS Brian is calling from Ontario what's up Brian hey how are you Jer I'm very well man what's up I'm just calling to talk about the Cowboys because driving home from work I guess everybody talks about the Cowboys and that all they talk about is the offense all the time and I am a Cowboys fan taking it for what it is a realistic Cowboys fan though I think I want to talk about is this year they finally have a defense because in years past for a long time yeah they've had offense but the defense couldn't stop nothing this year they have a defense and when you have a guy like Micah Parsons can change a game all by himself on the defensive side of the ball it puts him in a good position no absolutely the Dallas Cowboys have a defense that is is ranked third and points allowed this year I think most people have accepted what the the Dallas Cowboys are this season it was only two or three seasons ago where they had historically the worst season in their franchise's history this team gave up I don't even know was it 400 plus points 450 something odd points in a season they they were garbage a franchise worse for the Dallas Cowboys and so to have that type of turnaround right now you got a star on every level of the defense you have Michael Parsons Trayvon Diggs okay he's not snatching interceptions out the sky at the same rate that he was but they they have game changers that's what you want guys who can go out there and influence the game it's no different than than why it's so important that the Buffalo Bills are are without it's important that the Buffalo Bills don't don't have Von Miller right now because you need those game changers when a game is on the line someone who can have a major impact and the biggest spots in the biggest moment and the Cowboys have that so I don't think people are are looking at the offense and feel high about it they're being carried to a certain degree by the defense the offense is starting to click the passing game is starting to pick up Michael Gallop every week after week after week he's further removed from his his injury C.D. Lamb is starting to step up you hear less questions about the splits between Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard so the Cowboys offense is putting up points they're just doing it in a different way that they have in the past and I think their defense is getting the respect that they deserve the Cowboys are going to be getting the respect that they deserve the Cowboys are well around the team and I think I think people respect them for it but you're always going to have some folks who look at him and go oh it's the Dallas Cowboys oh it's Jerry Jones yes Jerry Jones has been in their damn way for a long time maybe if he actually had some help or maybe if he listened to other people they'd have more time but the Dallas Cowboys are a-okay 8-5-5 2-1-2-4 CBS let's go to Atlanta and talk to B you're on the JR sport reef show hey what's going on man how are you all right I just want to say you hit it dead on the head Cowboys I put them a little here to everybody because they're having fun out there man defense and offense they're having fun right now somebody having fun they're feeling nice too but Thursday ain't gonna make it in that uh Super Bowl I don't think he could win because it's too much pressure with the media and all in there it's gonna be a whole different game for him with all them running around and uh I just don't think he can handle that kind of pressure it's hard for me to say but if you've been in any kind of situation you know it's hard when all them people around you and calling at you and see a quarterback and they gonna be all over me and they gonna and Francisco is good but the game plan gonna change with that other quarterback the other teams gonna have a whole different game plan for him and I don't think he's down okay all right well thank you so much B for calling from here in Atlanta you know there's a first time for everybody though you know that right like there comes a point in time where you you do gain and garner experience and most of the times in professional sports it's it's through loss first you have to be a real real homer to look at the Cincinnati Bengals before last season and go oh man they're going to the Super Bowl wasn't wasn't likely to happen it happened Joe Burrow went there I didn't expect him to go there and he did he was competitive are you now going to be shocked at any point in time if Joe Burrow ever wins a Super Bowl no he went he got punched in the mouth and and damn it now they on their way back no matter fact we played this we played this last hour Tyler Boyd after beating those those chiefs again he said nah man us Bengals we are no fluke we're here to compete for another championship here listen to what Tyler Boyd had to say I mean there's no message towards us because we know what type team we have we know a caliber of team we we got going forward you know but um it's a great win for sure but it's a message to all the other guys who doubt us and think we just had a lucky run last year but nah we're here to stay and we're here to keep winning and here to fight for another Super Bowl everybody has to start somewhere man everybody there was a point in time where Tom Brady went to the Super Bowl for the first time there was a time that Patrick Mahomes went for the first time Peyton Manning and Drew Brees we can go down the line Jalen Hurts is is playing like an MVP he's one of the best quarterbacks in the game he's proven it that doesn't mean that he's not going to get over the hump Brian is calling from Portland you're on CBS Sports Radio what's up man thank you for taking my call quick question about the acquisition of Baker Mayfield to the Rams Matthew Staver got hurt what do you think that means I'll take my call off air okay thank you Brian what does it mean you got two entities going absolutely nowhere and it's in their best interest to kind of see what the other one can do you know what I'm saying but you know we talked about this in yesterday's show and I said that that Baker Mayfield is like a used car the Rams aren't doing anything but kicking the tires they're trying to see what he has what he can do and whether or not they want to keep him or just sell them for parts whether or not they want to send them out to the junkyard there's not a damn thing that we can look forward to it with Baker Mayfield with the Rams the Rams are three and nine Baker Mayfield is a just damaged goods at this point and the Rams with their own unfortunately busted up QB trying to see what they might have for the future this is strictly just about an asset what can you do with him a matter of fact when he was asked about him playing tomorrow night Sean McVay said it's probably too soon so he has to continue looking through that playbook and and seeing what it is so the Rams aren't going anywhere Baker Mayfield isn't going anywhere they might as well just kind of quote unquote check things out and see if there might be something down the line in the future you you never know all the best to Matthew Stafford with that neck back spine injury concussion I don't don't even get me started it's scary to even talk about his injuries numbness in his legs just all the best to Matthew Stafford simple stuff hey Anthony thank you tonight for an amazing time man thank you sir for making it very easy and pleasant I try my best that's how I do things I try my best
