Also an entrepreneur, Jason Phillips, better known probably as Jadakiss, and he's opening up a new business and he is a massive sports fan. Obviously, the NBA getting underway right now. We have a matchup between Boston and Philadelphia, Boston leading 115 to 103, about three and a half minutes left in the game. Game is taking place in Boston, Boston getting ready to walk away, probably with a victory. And so I'm going to ask Jadakiss about the NBA.

I'll get his thoughts on the NFL and then we'll figure out what he's up to in the business round. Back to sports. Baseball is going on right now. The National League Championship Series is underway. The Philadelphia Phillies. They're in San Diego because of the long ball.

They currently lead San Diego this minute. Top of the seventh, two to nothing. Solo bombs by Kyle Schwarber and then also Bryce Harper.

And I guess it's appropriate. Bryce Harper was at the top of our list of players who need to prove themselves in this postseason. And that is exactly what they did. And then also earlier, I want to say this evening, but this afternoon, because of because of a rain out yesterday, the New York Yankees, they beat the Guardians. The final score there, five to one. The Yankees advanced to the American League Championship Series, and they will go ahead and take on the Houston Astros. It was destined to be Yankees, Astros. Who would have thought in the National League Championship Series we would have not the Braves, not the Dodgers, but the two teams that beat them that didn't get a lot of attention, at least positive attention throughout the course of the year. And that is the Phillies and the Padres.

You got to enjoy it where you have it. But for the game, and we'll talk about the Phillies and Padres as the game goes on and moves forward. The Yankees earlier today.

Win or go home. The Yankees were at home. And they sent the fans in the Bronx, New York. They sent them home happy. We're talking bombs away. John Carlos Stanton, getting things set, getting things going right out of the gate.

A three run home run in the first inning. Oh, yeah. You want to know who does the calls for the Yankees? Yeah. His name is John Sterling, the same one who does the judge blast.

Listen to this. And the 2-0. Swung on and into the air to right center and deep. That ball is gone. Oh, my. It is a Stantonian home run. Oh, man. Hey, shop, what? Stantonian, judgey, and does everything end in Ian, right?

Listen, I guess when you were doing it that long, you get a little bit of leeway. If you hit a home run in Yankee Stadium, what would John Sterling say? You would you hit a a shepherd's. It's a shepherd's pie. I mean, based on this, based on the, you know, the premise, it would be a ship party, right? It's a party in a shepherdian blast. You got JR, even for you.

And I know you want to downplay this. It would be pretty cool. You hitting a home run in Yankee Stadium, having either John Sterling or Bob Shepherd.

Give you a little bit of homage with that. Oh, well, so the walk-up Bob Shepherd. Yes. Okay. I mean, I mean, I don't care about Sterling saying what would he say? JR.

He couldn't, he'd make something up. Fans think you're a little critical of John Sterling. Good. Good. They should think I'm critical of him. Good. Because I am. Good. A JR. What would he say? A JR what? It wouldn't be a blast.

What would he say? Oh, man. Nothing rhymes with two letters. It's impossible.

Like JR going for anything but par, you know? Oh, wow. I mean, that's, that's quick. Yes.

I mean, the, the, the, the gimme would be, the giveaway would be JR. That is not short. It's rather far. Oh, you're like a modern-day Dr. Seuss. Thank you.

We're going to have to talk to Jadakiss and see if we can get you a record deal. Appreciate that. It's quite possible. Well, let's listen because that's not the only home run that the Yankees hit. Some guy named Aaron Judge who has the American League single season record. He hit a home run as well. He made it four to nothing in the second inning. And I wonder if Sterling called it a Judge-ian blast.

Let's hear it. And the bit swung on. Hit in the air to deep right. That ball is high. It is far.

It is gone. It is a Judge-ian blast. It was necessary, right? Aaron Judge can't hit a home run without it being a Judge-ian blast. I thought just maybe, maybe. And I don't care. Maybe it being the postseason. I thought that there'd be a little bit something different, but I guess I was wrong.

It's okay. The only thing that matters is the Yankees advance and here's the deal. They were popping all this champagne and celebrating. They got to go to Houston and play tomorrow. I hope they're not drunk.

I hope it's not alcoholic champagne. But these are adults. These are grown men. I'm sure that they can handle themselves after the game. Aaron Boone says, yeah, took us five games, but we were able to hang in there and outlast them. They're a really good team. They're tough to score against. They pitch really well.

They catch the ball. They put so much pressure on you. We hit some big, we hit the ball out of the ballpark, which was which was big for us and obviously played a big role in it today. Oh, yeah, blasts.

They're nice when they work, right? I get Yankee fans tell me all the time. Oh, we need to do more than hit home runs. I mean, that's what Stanton does.

That's what Judge did. You got Bader who just joined the New York Yankees. There were a lot of people who didn't want him from St. Louis. They wanted to keep Jordan Montgomery. Wouldn't even have pitched. Harrison Bader is out here hitting three home runs. Oh, no, I want Jordan Montgomery back.

Do you really right now? So the New York Yankees go ahead and they take on the it sounds weird to call another team the Big Bad Wolf. When you are the Yankees, they were christened the evil Empire. But the Houston Astros over the past several seasons, they've had their number whether they've been banging on garbage cans or just leaving a roll this Chapman on the mound to just smile and disbelief as a home run just left the yard. This could potentially be payback for the New York Yankees or it could be another embarrassment. Justin Verlander has been not playing up to par. I don't know if he's tired now at this stage.

He didn't play at all last year coming back from from surgery had an absolutely amazing year and maybe at this point right now he's just worn out. It's a possibility despite that expect a lot of verbal jousting digital jousting over the next several days between fans of the New York Yankees and fans of the Astros. Astros fans telling Yankee fans to get over it. Yankees fans calling out Astros fans for their team being a bunch of cheaters.

Aaron Judge knowing that there is a little bit of payback potentially involved. That's what he had to say about taking on the Astros on the yes Network. We're looking forward to it. You know, it's they got a great ball club over there, you know, great all-around team and you know, there's definitely going to be a fun series, you know, we played them quite a few times in the postseason and looking forward to getting back to getting back there. Okay.

Yeah, I don't pop that don't yeah, that's playing French Montana in the back. And because of this rain out the New York Yankees, they got to play tomorrow. They just want a series.

They got to get on a plane probably now over the next several hours. They got to go to Houston. Jamison Tyone Jamison Tyone will be on the mound.

And they better hope that he's cool and smooth. The Yankees just after winning here is just it's a hell of a turnaround. Hey Shep, I they better hope Verlander is having another bad game. Otherwise, I think the Yankees already enter into this game at a disadvantage.

Obviously being the away team and now they got to play the day after they won and celebrated not a good look. No, not a good look at all. But at the same time, I mean you brought up early on in your monologue JR the fact that the Yankees are through after being down to one when the Dodgers and and to me the Dodgers and the Braves were more overwhelming favorites than the Yankees were and their respective series. Absolutely.

Wait a minute. Are you saying if the New York Yankees get past the Astros that they will now be favorites to win the World Series? Well, yes, but but but I don't I think a lot of people had the season written off after game three after the abhorrent bullpen decision-making by Aaron Boone.

Oh, no, I wasn't ready to bury. I thought we were talking about earlier on in the season. I would have said yes, but right Yankees always got a little bit of life. They have a variety of bats right now. Some of them are working. They have a bunch of guys who are still not in not healthy Ben attendee.

And then we saw an example today someone who no one ever heard of probably two years ago. And Nestor Cortez was on the mound holding it down for five innings. Between Garrett Cole. Yeah, he's still giving up some home runs, but he's done his job. He has earned his keep so far this postseason and the Yankees are the team that's still alive. Not the New York Mets not the Atlanta Braves not the Dodgers. It's the Astros. It's the Yankees. It's the Phillies. I mean, they fired their manager.

They look like crap who talked about them ever throughout the course of the season in any positive light. It was the Braves and the Mets and here out of the National League East it's the Phillies getting hot at the right time. And the biggest story for San Diego this year Fernando Tatis Jr. Did he get a dirty haircut that prompted him to test positive for steroids?

That was the biggest story for the Padres and their trade bringing in hater and it took him a while to not get treated like a human pinata. And so it's nice to know that yeah, we're down to the final four teams in Major League Baseball and we're going to have to see what happens. Congratulations to the Yankees for moving ahead.

You get to beat the snot if you can out of the Astros. It's going to be difficult and speaking of a championship this very minute that I speak. First of all, the first opening game of the NBA season.

It's concluded the Celtics beat the 76ers 126 to 117 the Golden State Warriors. They're getting ready to host the Los Angeles Lakers, but prior to that ring ceremony. Yes, Draymond Green is present. He arrived wearing a money green suit arrived talking smack saying that it was the Golden State Warriors Invitational referring to the entire season. And he's on the court.

Bob Myers, the general manager is currently speaking to the crowd and kissing the owners behinds thanking them for a job. And Draymond Green will get his ring just like everybody else. You know, who am I to say anything but I believe that this this whole punching pool situation. Unless they run into some other controversy that becomes a spark.

I think it's water under the bridge right now. I think this is the reason why they did not want to suspend Draymond Green. It would have been a bigger story if he was not there.

It would have bled on and on and on and then it would become even more of a distraction. Shep, what say you? You know, JR the more I think about it. It's it's well, you've had this right from the very beginning about Draymond Green is this is all about their chances to repeat. It's plain and simple cut and dry night and day and Draymond Green for the last decade has been not just the emotional leader of this particular franchise, but he's also been an individual where when his best has been needed. It has been Draymond that has outplayed his potential and the biggest of games not Steph Curry not Clay Thompson. They need Draymond Green on board because JR you and I both know this the West which Jamal Murray now back Kawhi Leonard back. You have individuals like Dollar Dame back.

This is going to be a much more difficult Western Conference to get through. They need every person on board from day one day one. They weren't going to they weren't going to waste time. I know they don't they might not want to pay Draymond Green deep and far into the future. But the fact is they want to win the championship. They need him out there.

They don't need distractions. They just need to go out there and play basketball. And so he's out there. He's going to be receiving his ring momentarily and until he punches someone else in the face until Draymond Green decides to I don't know do a vlog or blog or insult someone else.

The story for right now is probably done. It's time to get some basketball by the way. I told you about the Celtics winning over Philadelphia 126 to 117 both Tatum and Brown finished the night with 35 points apiece Marcus smart.

Who do you look at as being the top teams in the league right now to have the best chance of winning the title? Top teams for me and the NBA NBA basketball season under way. I got to start off with Golden State. I like the Clippers chances this year. I like Denver like Philly. I like Boston. Miami Heat always they always around and you can't sleep on the young whippersnappers.

JAMA ran in the Memphis Grizzlies. You see Donovan Mitchell went over there to join Darius Garland on Cleveland. Think they're going to be I got the Twin Towers and they got the other Twin Towers in Minnesota with Rudy go beer and call Anthony town. So, you know, it should be some good competition this year.

I think a lot of the younger dudes are ready to step up to the plate and show the elder statesmen that you know, they ready to compete Jada kisses here with us the chair sport reshow on CBS Sports Radio. There was no mention of the Los Angeles Lakers. What are you thinking about those Lakers is the Russell mentioned Ronnie and the guys because I still I still have to see I'm still we still have to see I mean, how much change they picked up Patrick Beverly.

They picked up Schroeder again. I'm waiting to see I don't I can't I ain't going to jump out on the ledge and just what the lake is in the top tier the teams just because they should be I could dig it. He's dealing with stuff at home off the field, which is causing on the field turbulence. I think he'll work it out because he's the he's the goat. That's what he does along with Aaron Rodgers to think he'll work it out with his young receivers and figure it out. You know, I mean, he's not panicking as you can see Brady's not panicking because this is what they're used to but I think it'll get greater later football for Jada.

He's running like the Amtrak or the Metro North Express. But I think it's not a fluke. I think both New York teams that play in New Jersey are doing their thing this year. Hopefully both will make the playoffs. You think that team upstate out in western New York, those Buffalo Bills, the other New York?

Buffalo Bills, I picked them to win the Super Bowl. So New York is looking good this year in the NFL as a whole. We got to count. Well, we got to count the New York State team and we got to count the New York City teams that play. We got to count all of them. We got to count New York, baby.

Yeah, I thought he I thought he wasn't going to based on the preseason, but he is, yes. Yeah, it's just yeah, Russell Westbrook is starting as well. His best friend starting. Patrick Beverley. Hugs all around.

How long does it take before? I mean, it's been preseason. And we've already gotten these stories about Beverly and how Westbrook has already started to isolate himself on picture day.

Media day. There were there were videos that went viral of the photographer telling Russell Westbrook. Hey, slide over, get closer to LeBron. There's videos that have gone viral during preseason games of Russell Westbrook. Just standing away from his teammates with the with the Lakers not participating in the huddle.

It's just the preseason. I don't know if Russell Westbrook is going to last a whole year. I have no idea if the Lakers finally decide to make a trade. I don't know if they wait until they have cap space next season. There's nothing better than the storylines in the NBA.

I just want to talk about the Yankees primarily, but just about my New York sports fandom called a couple weeks ago and just told him by the tip of the enthusiasm put a put a Giants being chewing. Oh, and we still doing well. Hopefully we started piling up more wins and get more credit for what we've been doing. I'm glad to see that the Yankees pushed it through and did what they needed to do to close out this series the right way. And I think we're going to put it to Houston Giants going to win more 10 games make the playoffs. Yes.

I don't know can't talk about them. But New York is back with the vengeance and we need to be shown some love by all these taters out here. I'm taking it up there. Thank you.

Thank you, Ashano for calling from Charlotte cares. I mean not not about but why are people so concerned about what other people say? Who cares if the Yankees win a championship or the Giants go to the playoffs and people think that they weren't who cares? I think it's a crapshoot between both the New York Jets and the New York Giants as to you know, who will make the playoffs I think one of them will make the playoffs not both. Probably the New York Giants if they can kind of stay alive knowing that they play in a crap division the NFC East.

Well, at least the bottom part of it. Oh, well, everybody can beat up on Washington at my correction. I stand corrected by the way Carson Wentz is now out busted up hand. But I think the Giants have a better chance of getting in than the New York Jets. And I said this last night. I think the New York Giants are in such a space right now.

Sure. They can be five and one but you know, they're not one of the best teams in the NFL and ultimately the New York Giants are probably going to turn into a pumpkin. They're gonna have to go back inside before it turns to midnight and the slipper Falls to dust and the dress Falls to crap and whatever else happened in Cinderella. And aim for the Giants. Meanwhile, as you mentioned New York Yankees. Yeah, this is a good position now, isn't it right?

This is where you would want to be. This was the extra expectation all season long is that the New York Yankees would advance to take on the Houston Astros in the ALCS. And here we are. But I'll tell you this Ashano don't be so concerned with what other people have to say. Who cares if somebody thinks the Giants stink who cares? I mean it should make the victories even even more sweeter.

You should be able to relish in a bathe in them just a little bit more. No big deal. But let's be real. The New York Giants are going to reach a point in time where they're going to have to come back down to Earth.

Sorry. What are they going to do go 12 and 5 for the season? The New York Giants are they supposed to pick up players along the way?

It's not going to happen highly highly unlikely pitiful. Looking at the New York Giants the rest of their schedule here. They have Jacksonville. They legitimately can go. 6 and 1 they have Seattle.

They have to go out there. Are they going to go out there and upset Seattle? Yes, at this point it would be an upset. Can they go 7 and 1 the answer is yes. They have Houston here. The Texans still play football they do.

That could be I don't know. 8 and 1 Detroit is up next. 9 and 1 Dallas is there. Let's say they lose 9 and 2 Washington 10 Washington again 11. The New York Giants are going to settle in somewhere. I would say no more than 9 wins.

I just told you I expect them to turn into a pumpkin. Someone unfortunately has a comprehension issues. Look. Are the Seahawks looking good all things considered?

Yes. I haven't heard anyone talk about Pete Cowell or not show Pete Cowell respect. What are we talking about? The Seahawks are in a good position knowing that they have moved on from Russell Wilson. That they haven't completely fallen into the toilet, but it's not like the Seahawks are out here being world beaters.

You're going to tell me. Well, who they who have any of these other teams beating? It doesn't matter Seahawks beat Russell Wilson. They did the Broncos. They beat Detroit barely. You beat Arizona. They've been crap all year.

So it doesn't matter who the Seahawks beat either. Are they in a good spot? Yes. Are they as bad as people expected them to be? No, but what is everybody supposed to do run around with pom-poms because the Seahawks aren't completely garbage right now. Come on. 8 5 5 2 1 2 4 CBS.

Hey shop. What it the Giants actually even better than we thought what's the deal here? Well, no, I mean to your point like it just seems like Corey had a vendetta against radio hosts who don't or decide to talk too much about Seattle. The reality is as weak as people want to say the Giants schedule has been and as as few as their margin has been in terms of victory, whether it's you know, 21 and plus the fourth plus 21, even though the 501 for the teams that they played are 500 better.

They only played six games. So let's give the Giants some credit Corey. Come on. I don't know, you know fans are fans of their teams and they just don't consider anything else. That's just how it goes Pete Carroll doesn't get I think Pete Carroll's reputation of any of of any coach in the NFL so far this season jr. His reputation has ascended the most because of the regression that we have seen from Russell Wilson without him.

Oh, yeah. Well, it's going to be pile on time. Now that that Russell Wilson is not only dealing with a shoulder injury, but he's also now dealing with a hamstring. So if you're looking for an opportunity to pile on to Russell Wilson, if you're looking for a chance to tell everybody, you know how much he stinks and how much of a genius Pete Carroll is now's the time. That may not hold true or be factual in another year or so, but for right now, oh, it's it's not a good start.
