When you need cash out of your home and a simple way to get it, Rocket can. When I say we, I'm referring to super producer and host Dave Shepherd and I and we are glad that you're here. We're going to be rolling for the next three hours.

If you didn't know, I'm here for four. Where have you been? I got started an hour ago.

Where have you been? 10 p.m. Eastern Time, 7 p.m. Pacific. Shout outs to everybody listening on their local affiliate. Thank you to all of our listeners on the free Odyssey app. Yeah, that's how you can listen. Hit pause, hit rewind, put it on your phone, put it on your tablet, take the show with you in the car to the house. I'm always still amazed when people go, oh man, I was stuck in the car listening. Say, well, if you got a smartphone, you just put the Odyssey app on there, you take it with you anywhere.

Sometimes I'm walking around my house and I got it playing on the phone and then I move it to a speaker and then I got the phone in my back pocket and I'm walking around and yeah, just take it with you anywhere. It's simple. Thank you to folks who have no choice. They got to listen on Sirius XM and thank you to everybody listening stationary somewhere on a smart speaker. We're less than 24 hours away from the start of the NFL season. What are you doing? Where will you be? Where are you going to watch the game?

Got your fantasy lineups all set. What are you going to eat? What are you going to send me to eat?

I'm perennially hungry all the time. Hey, Shep, you think I got a problem? No. Okay.

I liked it, man. I will eat all day, every day, multiple times a day, and I just, I like food, man. Yeah, but like healthy, like phytochemicals, greens. You only eat like kale and carrots and broccoli, right?

No, that's not true. I thought you were very healthy. Yeah, it's called balance. Gotcha. I am.

I love a good kale salad, get some chickpeas in there, some carrots, some salmon, you know, quinoa. Oh, I love it. But if I'm feeling it, oh, I'll tear down a whole Domino's pizza. Not impressed, aren't you?

No, now you're speaking my language. No, my stomach just growled. That tasted and sounded so good right about now. I'm hungry.

I got to relax. Remember it was what, two, three months ago? We had callers telling me where I could find Wendy's. I do remember that, yes. At 3 a.m. I had people calling me from, I don't know, somebody called from Topeka, Kansas and said, hey, JR, there is a, there's a Wendy's open on the south side of Atlanta.

You just go down there and, and they open until three. And I'm like, thank you very much. Thank you for Googling that for me. We have some great listeners.

And so listen, as we continue on with the show, I will continue to engage you because that's what I'm here for. I want to sit here and just talk to my damn self. That's crap.

I'm not doing that. And so here's the deal. In about 15, 20 minutes from now, about 15, we're going to have a conversation with someone who played in the NFL. Right before we went to break, we talked about Jason Peters.

The fact that this man, and I'm sure he's had a, quite a few Wendy's and Domino's and maybe not, but he's an offensive line. And now for the Dallas Cowboys, we're going to talk to a three-time Superbowl champ, someone who's had experience in the NFL on an offensive line. Mark Schlerath is going to join us.

And so we'll have that conversation with him. I'll ask him about Peters. And speaking of the Rams, Whitworth is gone. He retired. Oh, gray beard, offensive lineman. He's gone. Now he's going to be calling games. And so we'll talk to Schlerath about some of these offensive linemen. Oh, so exciting. And then I'll ask him about food as well. And then we'll get it to some, some NFL. You should know this as well. It's Wednesday night.

What does that mean? There's going to be a new top six list. And so an hour from now, I'm going to give you my list of the top six teams heading into this 2022 season. And so we, we went through some of these games last hour.

I told you about the games that I'm ready to see. Obviously the Bills and Rams kick things off tomorrow. It's extremely difficult to say, oh man, this team is going to win.

They're going to blow this squad out. And so I'm just going with the home team. I'm picking the Rams.

These are two awesome teams. We know Von Miller went from the Rams where he won a Super Bowl, got a six year contract now with the Buffalo Bills. And now he's going to try to destroy Matthew Stafford. And Von Miller is also going to try to pick up his third Super Bowl ring with his third team. And the Bills are definitely, definitely a team that a lot of people are looking at, even though the Rams just won the title.

We looked at some of the other matches to start the year, start the season, Tampa Bay in Dallas, Sunday Night Football. Russell Wilson goes back to Seattle, Monday Night Football. And then we have Baker Mayfield. The whole world can't wait to see Baker light up the Cleveland Browns, right? Sure. Yeah, right. You know, Miles Garrett will probably pummel this man into the ground, or maybe Baker Mayfield throws, you know, three touchdowns.

Who knows? Maybe he'll connect with his best friend, Robbie Anderson. And so it's nice to have the NFL back. It's nice to get the season started. But I got to tell you this, we went through a lot of teams last hour.

We talked about the commanders. Someone mentioned the New York Giants. We talked about the someone mentioned the New York Giants. Yeah, four wins is probably the max for what they can do. And then, yeah, we talked a little bit about the the NFC East, obviously they're with the Cowboys.

But I want to hit this real quick. Lamar Jackson has given the Baltimore Ravens an ultimatum. Lamar Jackson has said, y'all are going to pay me and we're going to come to an agreement by Friday. Otherwise, we're going to have to wait on an agreement at the end of the season. And like Fat Joe has said, if we have to go through a full season here with Lamar, if he is healthy, the price will go up. If they franchise tag him, okay, fine. You're just continuing to delay the inevitable.

The price will go up. And then in the case of Lamar Jackson, every day that that man runs around, and I think people don't give him credit for not being hit, he doesn't get obliterated. This man darts, weaves, and maybe he gets pushed. He darts, weaves, and then runs out of bounds. He ain't out there treating people like a battering Rams. He's not like Cam Newton.

You got to catch him first. But that's not to say once you get into the open field, it's common sense. You open yourself up, you are more susceptible to injury. That's just, it's just the laws of nature. You ever watched, hey, Shep, you ever watch those old National Geographic films, like set in the Serengeti or something? No, I watch good feature films. It's not a feature film. It's a documentary, something that you learn something from, like, like years ago, 30 years ago. That's why I don't watch it.

You mean to tell me you've never seen a lion just snatch up something in an open field? It's called YouTube. I'm not going my way to watch this stuff. Yeah, but you've seen it before. I've seen it, but I'd rather watch, I'd rather be entertained when I watch films, not documentaries.

Unless it's like a 30 for 30. We have to broaden your horizons. Anyway, I think most of our listeners are familiar.

The old Nat Geo films, you got an animal out in the open field and, and something ridiculous just snatches it up. Yeah, you in open space. You're there for the picking. And so in relation to Lamar Jackson, I'm not saying he's, he's right for the picking. He can get abused in the backfield for all I know. But once you step past that line of scrimmage, it only takes one.

And so it might only take one. So I don't want to say ruin his career. I'm sure he has an insurance policy out. If he should be hurt or injured, I don't think the man is going into the poor house.

But if you think about the potential money that he could make. Is he going to get 230 guaranteed? Probably not. Is he going to get more than Kyler? Is he going to exceed 190?

Eh, maybe. And so here we have the game of chicken. He's pretty much the last domino in the game. He's pretty much the last domino to fall if you have to think about a quarterback in his contract for the rest of this offseason. We got the shock and the surprise with Jimmy Garoppolo. He'll be sticking around in San Francisco. I don't want to say he'll be babysitting Trey Lance, but the reality is it doesn't matter what Shanahan or Lynch or anybody wants to tell you. Jimmy Garoppolo is going to be looking over that man's shoulder.

And Trey Lance cannot be comfortable with the current situation. Everybody got paid or traded. Aaron Rodgers got paid. Deshaun Watson, regardless of the circumstances, his ass got paid. Tom Brady left and came back. Russell Wilson got traded. Kind of passively, aggressively, over the course of two years, forced his way out. But Lamar Jackson, he's still waiting and now he has a deadline. But he did speak. He was asked today if they're any closer to a contract than a few weeks ago. This is what Lamar had to say. How much closer do you feel now as opposed to when you started this process, maybe at the beginning of training camp or the last few weeks?

How much closer do you feel now toward a potential agreement? I have no clue. You know, you'll have to ask the guy who I'm talking to.

Talk to the GM about that. Oh, man, it's, he's a funny, he's a funny dude. And he's not, I don't think he's intentionally trying to be funny. He's just, he's just being himself.

Now, how close to that are you? I don't know. Ask the GM. He's the one that's going to, going to agree to a deal.

I told him what I want and ask him, is he changing his mind? I ain't changing mine. I like this.

This is a stare down, man. This is going to be fun. By the time we get here on here on Friday night, I'd love it. Do they have a contract agreement or do they not? It's going to be fine either way.

And this is what he actually had to say. This is when he laid down that deadline. As of right now, you know, we're still talking, you know, the week's not over yet, but soon, soon probably be a deadline, probably be cut off after this week. Kickoff, I would not be talking about a contract. I'm thinking straight jets around kickoff time.

As far as a deadline on the end of this week, the end of this week, Friday. Yeah, you have it. He's going to be thinking about the jets.

And I guess that's an easy, easy dream to think of. Zach Wilson, by the way, will not be playing for the New York Jets. Joe Flacco will be. And so Joe Flacco, hey, you can expect to see him probably for the first month of the season.

Zach Wilson recovers from a, another knee injury. I don't know. I think God, he must hate the jets.

I think he does. Why not? 8-5-5-2-1-2-4 CBS, that's 8-5-5-2-1-2-4 CBS. Let's get some of your calls in before we have a conversation with Mark Schlerith. Let's go ahead and start in Colorado.

I was just in Colorado. Let's talk to JJ. You're on CBS Sports Radio. What's up, JJ?

Hey, JJ. You got me? I have you now. What's going on?

Perfect, perfect. Well, I wanted to talk about that game tomorrow. Number one, that guy called in and was shouting out how much he loved the Bills and how they're going to smash and how great they are. And I just got to say, Josh Allen, yeah, dog. Dawson Knox, dog. Devin Singletary, dog.

Stephen Biggs, dog. They drafted James Cook. I mean, they got so many great players, but you're going against the defending champs and you're out of your mind if you think that the defending champs that are bringing back their same team are not going to come in and win that game. I've got the Rams all the way, but there was one more thing that I wanted to put on here. I do not understand, and I am through and through a Minnesota Vikings fan, but why, why, why stay with Kirk Cousins when he is seven and 37 against winning teams?

Well, let me ask you a question. What is with all that has been invested up until now into Kirk Cousins, when you think about the roster that is surrounding him, it's almost like the Minnesota Vikings are stuck in purgatory. And if they are going to remove Kirk Cousins from the situation, which they, it's a tough deal to just say, Hey, get the hell out of here.

It will be a complete teardown. And so they are so far deep, so far into the hole, even with a new regime, even with a new coach, a new general manager, I don't think they are enamored or in love with Kirk Cousins, but it's like, it's like that relative that you, it's in your family that you, you love them, but where you, where you're putting them, you can't get rid of them. You kind of stuck with them.

I don't mean to be a big pun here, but he's like your cousin that you kind of don't like, but he's there and you got to put it up with him because he married your cousin. Oh, okay. I thought we were going into this. I thought this was going in a different direction, but I get it.

This is an in-law an in-law and in-law. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.

People hate that. And do you have one? Oh yeah. We all got in-laws. Oh, well, I'm not married.

I don't do well. I guess I do have, well, are they in-laws? Yeah, I guess they would be, but not, not via marriage. Yeah, they would be via, but not, not me.

I'm not married. Right. Do you hate, do you hate your, your in-laws? Do you hate them? No, no, I hate my in-laws, but I'm saying if it's a far distant in-law and that's that one standoff person that's like just there to be around. Yeah. They come to your house, they eat your food. They don't bring anything when they come over.

They don't know what time to leave like that type of person. Right. Yeah. They didn't bring any wings or something that, or like you said, some good salad, that some kale salad with some chickpeas.

You like kale salad and chickpeas? You like that too? Oh yeah. Yeah. If somebody brought that to my house, I'd have to be upset at them though. I'll eat that on my own, but don't bring that to my house. But they didn't bring anything.

Oh yeah. I know that's, they're worthy of hate. Hate is a strong word.

I don't, I wouldn't say I hate anybody, but that's worthy of it. But man, Kirk Cousins, they should have went after somebody, obviously, probably not a Deshaun Watson, but maybe they should have went after a Russell Wilson or somebody else to change. You're already in the change period. You might as well revamp and get prepared for the next two to three years. Well, let me tell you this. And JJ, thank you for calling from Colorado. I hope everything with your in-laws are fine. Don't take my advice.

You'll end up on the street. But the fact is, man, they have so much of an investment into Kirk Cousins. In the past, extensions even now and recently, I ain't no capologist, but I know enough that they just cannot dump this guy.

Otherwise they would have. It's going to be a slow burn for him. Minnesota Vikings are, they're okay. They're in purgatory.

Okay, fine. You got Zimmer out of here and you got Kevin O'Connell in the building. And I don't know if you guys remember, I was up in Minnesota. I was at TCO at their practice facility a few months ago, and we did a beautiful piece with Harrison Phillips, by the way, no longer a member of the Buffalo Bills.

And we did a shoot at Special Olympics. And so I had a chance to meet and talk to a lot of the Vikings. Uh, we spoke to new head coach, Kevin O'Connell, who helped, uh, the Rams win the Super Bowl as their OC. And now he has this job as head coach of the Minnesota Vikings. And it's a, it's a new start. It's a new beginning. They have a new GM. They have a new coach. They got a new everything.

It's, it's going to take time. Like how many years do we have to run around with the Minnesota Vikings being, uh, slightly above 500 or slightly below? Kirk Cousins getting you close to winning a game and then, you know, just falling asleep and taking a nap because he's trying to be too perfect. We've only had that one. How did you like that from Kirk Cousins?

And one of those is not enough. We've had so many conversations about food. We're going to take a break. And when we come back, we're going to talk to someone who was an offensive lineman in the NFL. He knows about food. I'm going to ask him about food, linemen, who he thinks will potentially win the super bowl. Mark Schlerath is going to join us here in a few minutes. It's the JR sport brief show right here on CBS sports radio. You're listening to the JR sport brief on CBS sports radio. You're listening to the JR sport brief on CBS sports radio. It's the JR sport brief show right here with you on CBS sports radio. We know college football is back about 24 hours away from the NFL being back. And right now we're being joined by someone who knows all about the NFL. He's a three-time super bowl champion. He's a former pro bowler, and he's going to tell us about some of these upcoming games this season.

And also something that I like to do eat. He's going to tell us about food. We're being joined by Mark Schlerath. Mark, how are you, man?

Man, I am doing great things that couldn't be better. I love this time of year. My favorite time of year. The kickoff of the National Football League season is going to be just going to be an awesome time.

All the time. We know that's the case and your former offensive linemen. I want to get into your food momentarily, but I got to start the conversation off by talking about a few offensive linemen.

They've been in the news recently a few minutes ago before you joined us. We shared with everybody about Jason Peters, going from the Eagles, being a legend there, spending time with the Bears. And now he's a member of the Dallas Cowboys. How much do you think he has left in the tank? And what can he contribute to a Cowboys line, which has been decimated? Listen, Jason Peters is not human.

Okay, I'm just going to tell you right now. That dude is from a different planet. And even last year playing for the Bears, he was still playing at an exceptionally high level. He's 40 years old and he's got plenty. Now, it's going to take him probably a week or two to get a couple of weeks to kind of get into the groove and to get into kind of football shape.

You know, we always joke around or it's not even a joke. The only thing you do to get into football shape is play football. So it's going to take him a couple of weeks of practice to kind of not only get himself into the football shape, but also to understand kind of what the terminology is, what the offense is, but I will tell you, Jason Peters is still a top-notch NFL left tackle. And so, you know, that's a great move for the Dallas Cowboys to be able to pick him up at this late stage of the game. When we think about some of the offensive linemen, we've seen recently still have amazing careers. It's like guys are lasting longer. We just saw Whitworth decide to hang it up. He's in his 40s.

We mentioned Peters. What's the key now to longevity? Is there something different that you see going on now versus what we saw 20 years ago when you play? Well, I mean, you're not beating the living snot out of yourself in practice anymore. You know, I mean that we used to, it was a full tilt scrimmage, you know, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday before you ever got to the game. So it's completely different how they manage the health of the athletes now, you know, obviously training camp where we had two practices a day full pads like full tilt scrimmage level, you know, they practice once a day half the time.

They're not in pads anymore. So it's really about the league trying to manage the health of their players and doing a much better job that I think creates longevity. If you're a good player, it can also there's a double-edged sword to that. You know, if you if you need the work and you're a very raw player, it's hard.

It's much harder for you to develop as a player without those practice reps. But, you know, like I said, I think most people are willing to trade that development for longevity and health. So, you know, I think that's probably one of the big reasons that guys seem to be lasting a bit longer. Mark Schlereth is joining us here at the JR Sport Reshow, CBS Sports Radio. We know the guy who's lasted the longest place quarterback, Tom Brady at 45 years old. We've seen his offensive line go through changes.

We saw him take his two-week personal leave. What do you foresee for Brady that offensive line in the Buccaneers this season? Are they still going to be in that Super Bowl conversation? Well, yeah, I think they'll be okay. You know, I mean, you know, I get that they lost some of their offensive line and Ryan Jensen hopefully will be back this season.

And so, you know, he's a really good player, but it's funny. I was at this O-line conference a couple months ago and, you know, and Ryan Jensen was there. And so we were just talking about, you know, being the center for Tom Brady and he goes half the time, you know, we're re-identifying a mic. We're changing protection and Brady's just like, hey, screw it.

We don't, don't worry about it. Yeah, I'll have the ball gone before you ever even have a chance to block a second-level player, you know, before a boosting linebacker even get to me. So like Brady takes a lot of pressure off the guys up front because he's going to get rid of the ball so quickly and it's going to be so incredibly accurate. So yeah, there are some concerns there for me, but I think, you know, over the first three or four weeks of the season, they iron out most of those things. They'll be okay. I still think they have an elite level, just talent level from the receiver standpoint, from the running back standpoint and obviously, you know, with their quarterback. So I think they're going to be okay there and, and Brady, you know, I always, I always marvel at his ability at this stage of the game to still play at that level. You know, I asked him gosh, last year. I was like, dude, what is it about everybody trying to write your old bit for the last 12 years, you know, and, and people, you know, love to, people love to write that old bit, but he just keeps shoving it up their cans. So the guy's still playing an incredibly high level and I don't expect it to drop at all this year.

Yeah, why not? Another 4,500 plus yards and 30 touchdowns. Let's get to two teams that you played for. Obviously, we know Russell Wilson going from Seattle now to the Denver Broncos.

My main man Dalton Reisner will be out there helping to protect him. What do you foresee for the Broncos? And then also, not a lot of people talk about Washington. They're obviously known for the Hogs.

You played there as well. What are your thoughts on those two squads? Well, I think, you know, anytime you have a franchise quarterback like you do in Russell Wilson, you got a chance, you know, franchise quarterbacks cover warts and, and, you know, and, and essentially, you know, backup quarterbacks expose warts and the Broncos for the last six years have had a bunch of backup quarterbacks playing for them. And, you know, and it exposes the warts of the football team. Now that you have Russell Wilson, you have a legitimate shot to be a playoff contender. I know it's a tough division. I know the AFC West with Justin Herbert Mahomes and Derek Carr is incredibly tough, tough division, but you've got a chance to compete for, to me, a wildcard spot. I still think Kansas City is the class of that class of that division, but I think it's tight, man. I think it's tight with all four teams. So that's going to be incredibly exciting. And then, you know, the NFC East is interesting.

I don't think there's been a repeat. I don't think there's been a repeat champion of the NFC East since the early 2000s when the Philadelphia Eagles did it. So Dallas won the division last year means they're not going to win it again this year.

So it's anybody's ball game. I think the Eagles are incredibly talented team, but I think Washington is, is probably sneaky good. And it just depends to me on Carson Wentz. And does he continue kind of regaining his form? He did last year to a degree. Now they missed the playoffs. They lost a game at the end of the season to Jacksonville, which, you know, is inexcusable. But the bottom line is he, he rectified some of his woes from his late days in Philadelphia because he was training early in his career before the injuries to be, you know, a star quarterback in this league. So can he continue that progression that he started last year? Can he play at a high level? Because if they can play at a high level defensively, man, especially a defensive front seven, they've got great players. I think their offensive line is probably underrated and they've got some receivers that can flat out play in Washington. Well, Mark, I think all things considered, you probably got a little bit of gas left in the tank to go help out a line.

No, as long as they promise not to hit me, you know, it's, it's the hitting thing that is a hitting thing that would deter me. The three-time Super Bowl champ, Mark Schlev here with us. I'm going to talk about the food final question before we get into the grub and what you're going to throw down with over the weekend. I'm going to share with everybody, my top six list of NFL teams heading into the season. Who do you see as having the best chance to walk away with the Vince Lombardi by the time we get to winter? Well, I think, I mean, I think you look at the AFC and I know a lot of people are picking the bills and I understand they've, they've got such a outstanding roster with a young quarterback, but the AFC is just loaded. You know, we talk about Mahomes, we talk about Justin Herbert, we talk about Joe Burrow, we talk about shoot Lamar Jackson, we like all the young quarterbacks in the National Football League, especially in the AFC.

It's, it's ridiculous. And then the NFC is more the old guard, right? We got Aaron Rogers, we got Tom Brady, we got, you know, we've got those older quarterbacks. So, you know, we kick off the season with, with the Rams playing as well. So, like, I just look at the bills as probably one of the best chances that it would be great. You know, Josh Allen versus a Tom Brady.

I think that would be a tremendous, a tremendous matchup. Nah, it'd be nice to see and look forward to. And we know something that we all do when Super Bowl time rolls around and every Saturday through college and Sunday is sit down and eat, man. You're an offensive lineman.

I know you're much more svelte than back in the day. What are you sitting down to rub on as we watch these games? Well, I'll tell you what, first, like one of the things I love about football is it brings us together as a community, as family, you know, we get together, we get to watch. So, you know, when we're home gate or tailgating the TVs where I started the award-winning 65 inch OLED C2 series, the best picture quality, realistic colors, crisp sharp images, no blurring during fast motion scenes, movies, gaming, and what we love sports is the best place the best place to watch it or the best way to watch it. LG.com love pizza as well, right? And no party's complete without pizza. Papa John's right now has their football pizza, thin crust pizza cut like the shape of a real football and then slick deals.

I love this. Sure, man. As they like, we've been talking a lot about the Buffalo Bills and everyone's expecting them to win the Super Bowl this year. But as a Minnesota Vikings fan for like 40 some years, we lost four Super Bowls as Buffalo Bills did. So we like the media to do in your corner is not talk about it because I just heard Michael Irvin pick Kirk Cousins to be the MVP this year. I just wonder what you thought about that.

Well, I guess Kevin O'Connell will have to be a miracle worker. Is that is that the case? Yeah. You didn't hear that? No, I don't I don't listen to every word out of the mouth of Michael Irvin. And I don't there's a lot of people who just well, well, Scott, there's a lot of people that just say things.

I don't and all of it. That's Michael Irvin now. I mean, well, I've actually spoken to Michael Irvin before, and he's a he's a funny guy. He's a very nice guy.

But, you know, I don't I don't take everything set as law. Well, what is it with the Vikings as a Viking fan is we like to be like we're always like under the radar and then we'll come up sometimes and surprise you. And I think that's what the Buffalo Bills fans would probably prefer, too, because all this Josh Allen hype and all, you know, their expectations, it's really high, really super high. And well, there's there's nothing to play out this. Well, yes, we have to play out the season.

Scott, thank you for calling from California. I don't know if I want to call the Minnesota Vikings team, which basically hovers around 500 every season. I don't want to call that a a sneak up on you. I think I'd rather be in the position of the Buffalo Bills than the Minnesota Vikings and Kirk Cousins MVP. What if Michael Irvin said that to me, I just I wouldn't even I just I said, OK. I'll be OK, fine.

He wins MVP. OK, all right. Michael Irvin, you you're the man. I don't got no Super Bowl rings. I'm not a great wide receiver.

I don't have none of that, man, but sure, sure. Kirk Cousins MVP of what? Tiddlywinks? Hey, shut up. You ever played Tiddlywinks?

No, but I played backgammon that close. Not enough. Let's ask Dave. Dave is calling from Alabama.

You're on CBS Sports Radio. Hey, Dave, you ever played Tiddlywinks? Never heard of it. That's a kiddie game anyway. How do you know it's a kiddie game if you've never heard of it?

I've heard of it, but I just never bothered to find out what it is. So I just put that as a kiddie game. OK, so maybe maybe Michael Irvin wins, you know, Tiddlywinks. Maybe Kirk Cousins is the MVP of Tiddlywinks.

But what's on your mind? OK. Hey, I love talking with your producer, Dave Shep. Man, he's good.

He is good. Him and Stu Kovacs must be cut from the same cloth. Well, they're twins. You didn't know?

I don't know, man. I've never seen their pictures yet. No, they're not twins.

Not by any stretch, but they're both absolutely amazing. I know. Hey, I want to start off just like this with the NFL season. I'm ready for it. Cry havoc and let flip the dog of the war. Ribs will be cracked, shoulders dislocated, collarbones fractured and pestons turned into jump rope, hammers and kitchen sinks will be thrown. Quarterbacks impaled, steamrolled and toasted. And that's just week one.

Wow. I can't wait. I would I would say I can't wait.

That was devious. I'm just I am ready. I'm ready to see it all.

Hey, in a previous life day, did you ever work for like Vince McMahon or anything like that? Oh, no, he's a weak man. OK, well, Dave, let me ask you a question.

I'm gonna let you go because it's kind of funny and creepy. What's your favorite team? Well, born and raised in Philadelphia. So you like the Eagles?

Oh, yeah. What do you expect from the Eagles this season? Well, if Jason, if it hurts, doesn't get impaled, steamrolled and toasted. I expect a good season out of them. But other than that, I'm just take the wait to see approach. OK, yeah, I think he won't be steamrolled.

And what else did you say? Toasted and impaled and toasted. OK, this sounds like Mortal Kombat instead of an NFL game. But how about I'll put it to you this way. If he can look past his first option as he kind of goes through his progressions, I think he'll be OK, Dave.

Oh, as long as they keep him upright, he's good. OK, well, thank you so much. Appreciate you for calling from Alabama. Roger that. Enjoy your night, man. You as well, Dave.

Top six list coming soon. Man, hey, shut up. Dave is a modern poet, man. Of little Walt Whitman in him, huh?

He is. I think he's better than Walt Whitman. Edgar Allen Poe? Edgar Allen Poe. Langston Hughes. Robert Frost. Yeah, I think he got him beat. I would tell him he can do haikus if he can shorten it a little bit. You think Dave writes haikus? Oh, he's shorter than the guy in the last bottom of the hour you had. Remember that?

No, I don't. What happened? He must have gone on for six, seven minutes. Oh, he was going through every NFL team. Yes. Oh, he was just going through every team. And he was funny, too.

Chris from Maryland, I believe his name was. Good memory. Yeah, sometimes. Depends on what it is. Plenty of things I want to forget.

Certain things not. It's the JR Sport Reshow here on CBS Sports Radio. It's a couple of things we are not going to forget. In a few minutes, we've talked about a lot of teams here. Dave just mentioned the Philadelphia Eagles. We've talked about the Rams. We've talked about the Bills. The Cowboys have been mentioned.

It doesn't happen a whole hell of a lot anymore. And we talked about, I don't know who else. The Washington commanders? Hmm. When we get to the top of the hour, it's going to be time for a new top six list.

And there's only one direction I can go. It's to have a full discussion about the top teams heading into the 2022 season. I'm not going to be dropping you no garbage. I'm not going to be sharing with you teams that are close. I'm not going to be talking about your favorite team just because you think they have a shot. I'm going to tell you that one of these teams that I mentioned, they are likely going to go out there and win the Super Bowl. And I'm not biased.

I don't care because I don't get a cut from the champion. So I'm going to give you that list on the other side. Shupp, is that a good idea? Damn right, it is.

Yeah, it is. Great idea. I think let's let's do it. We're going to take a break. I'm going to do whatever the hell it is I do during the breaks. And then when we come back, it's going to be time for a new top six list. The NFL season is upon us. I'm going to give you the top six teams heading into the year. It's the JR Sport Brief Show, CBS Sports Radio.
