Hello obviously today were talking about the election as the left meltdown is Republicans regain control, keeping you informed and now this is Sharon post, call 1-800-684-3110 on were going to work where going to restore excellence in our school. We will invest the Lord, and budget. The history of the Commonwealth where facilities special education work on choice within our public school system.
Now your hose so you want to hear from you and a lot of you are waking up last night. What did you election thought I'd say because the audit know that the world cared statements made. I would say by the Democrats by specifically our vice President.
All of a sudden Virginia became a big deal for the lead with that. That's bite seven from VP, Alaris Turner, 20, 22, 20, 24 and on while you heard that what will happen in Virginia will largely influence what happened in 2022 and 2024 and beyond.
Well if that's the case family to go to you straight in Washington DC.
If that's the case you have an interesting couple years.
Janet should be the case. Programming lucky.
We talk a lot yesterday about Virginia and Republicans in Virginia last night over performed by about 12 points cruising to the Virginia governorship hello can we didn't really talk that much about the New Jersey governorship yesterday because it wasn't supposed to be close at all. Well it's still too close to call me.
Just let me just say this at the outset. There's a lot of things we could get in here to better based on the soundbite that you just played from the vice President, here's the other thing that it should mean loving it should mean that the Biden agenda.
Specifically, the reconciliation bill is dead in Washington DC. Clearly, voters don't like that again. I'm not sure that's what it's going to mean short-term Logan but that's what it should mean it was full meltdown on CNN. I love watching it. It was a blast me there is one point where you showed the map and there was like almost an explicit moment of Jake Tapper. Just being like in shock at the results between the 2020 election and now 20, 21 election for governor Virginia you're right, New Jersey still too close to call. The fact that that's even the case is shocking and also I could see it happening, which is what they realize Virginia was lost very quickly when they realize Virginia was going to Republican. All of a sudden as we talk about New Jersey people that New Jersey became a talking point like let's check out what's going on in New Jersey. When that started to get a little close. Really, everything started to unravel. That's right they normally don't even do national coverage of a governor race in a state like New Jersey because it is so solidly for the Democrat party. But when it was so close like you're saying you were seeing these personalities and anchors on CNN and MSNBC and all these other networks start to get nervous and what's going to happen here and we've got some sound will play later in the show about how some of those meltdowns played out on air and some of the disingenuous nature of some of these media outlets.
During these this special election night coverage but I think that you put it right. It it's showing something even earlier than the midterms about the way that places are thinking about the Biden agenda and working to get into some of that is by my have the text pulled up.
This happened just a few days ago Joe bides. I think it would Virginia and he said I believe I've seen any evidence that whether or not I am doing well or poorly, or whether or not I got my agenda passed or not is going to have any real impact on wicking of losing. Even if we had passed my agenda, I would claim we want, because Biden's agenda passed the clearly hedging some bets there by saying this is a problem my approval rating should be a big issue for people well clearly that's wrong. I want to hear from you.
What you think this means. Are you excited are you at least amped up for another political season is one more year now to midterms is call 1-800-684-3110.
I will hear from you, Virginia, or New Jersey will prioritize your call. If not, call around the country love to hear from you and your thoughts on this one, 800-684-3110 as well send out the invites to play. We are the middle of a Magic Johnson check out the DOJ NACLJ.org the American Center for Law and engaged in critical issues at home and abroad. Whether it's defending religious freedom.
Protecting those faith uncovering corruption in the Washington bureaucracy and fighting to protect life reports and in commerce. ACLJ would not be able to do any of this without your support for that. We are grateful. Now there's an opportunity for you to help me way for limited time you can participate in the ACLJ's matching challenge for every dollar you donate $10 gift comes 20 oh $50 gift becomes 100. This is time for the ACLJ. The work we simply would not occur without your generous heart wrenching challenge make a difference in protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms most important to you today online okay only when a society can agree that the most vulnerable when voice is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying when you stand with the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life. We created a free powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn Gold edition will show you how you personally and publication includes all major ACLJ were fighting for the rights of pro-life activists ramifications.
40 years later Planned Parenthood's role in the street and what Obama care means to discover the many ways your membership is empowering the right question for mission life today online/great Supercuts of essentially the seated and MSNBC's freaking out last night at the results, which is what always happens. It seems to be the common thread what I think you have elections like this and eat, you assume you're gonna win. Problems happen and it was fun to watch but also will be brought under the breaker discussing turned very sinister, very evil quickly and a Van Jones who is not no disciple punches so you gotta give it to him for that fairly consistent systole create sound bites for us here had a cookout.
Let's let's give this a little bit of perspective. Young Jim was never to be. You know it right in Virginia as a Republican wasn't the super trump magnet candidate.
He was a Republican as an outsider. He had some of that swagger about him but it wasn't like this was a present from today a virtual town hall forum type think it was there but it wasn't front and center life campaigns we say or you can set around the state.
As we feel like before you trump world's pretty high profile form, but as I was seated what you believe they want you to believe that this is a direct representation of of what they think of the negative President trump but to say in a way that even those on the left should become disgusted. This is Van Jones last night as the election started to turn that we see the emergence of the Delta variant of tropical Delta variant of pump is another words, Duncan same disease but spreads a lot faster and get a lot more places the coronavirus in this pandemic have taken more than 5 million lives globally and to compare your political opponents to something that has killed 5 million people globally. It reminds me of when the Democrats labeled people in mag caravans as ISIS like their caravan are caravan kind of thing or when back in Florida. There was that candidate Daniel Webster, the got labeled Caliban, Dan. The left seems to go to the worst possible level to categorize their opponents as evil as terrorist as a plague instead of being honest, that were Americans and they try to say that the trump philosophy was what was dividing the country know I think it's rhetoric like that coming from people on cable news calling people for coronavirus Delta variant of a political ideology discussed. It's pretty gross look like I'm lucky to say that there hasn't been plenty of stones thrown from the other side as well for the Republicans. Well, I think we need to live in a world where this is not the way it's treated.
We need to get back to where there some semblance of reality. And I believe that is what and then you could speak this. The Virginia voters essentially said he rest. I said Virginia was not you know socialism blew their baby below their Joe Biden blue, even you'd say they may not be Donald Trump read there may be Joe Biden blue and they were gonna put up with what was being proposed from the Democratic candidate actually shows and maybe that's a good thing, and this is a good thing that there are people who are not just voting on partyline look and I to think that message was sent loud and clear by Virginia voters last time. Look at me President trump was happy to get when you can endorsement when young and was happy to accept it.
I think that's a normal thing. I think that's a healthy thing. I think it did speak to trump voters in the state of Virginia. But if you look at that campaign that Glenn Young can Rand Logan. It does not look at all like the campaign that CNN suggested was it was optimistic by every account. It was winsome by every account.
By the way I use the word winsome intentionally because his lieutenant governor when sincere is an incredibly impressive candidate, a female immigrant from Jamaica.
Someone who maybe we should talk about a little bit more, but the campaign was optimistic.
Logan in years. I think the thing that both Republicans and Democrats should take away from it. It wasn't politician centric and that's not aimed at President trump reaming Glenn Young Kenner, Terry McAuliffe, it wasn't politician centric.
It was voter centric and and enter and Glenn Young can saw that voters in his district were incredibly concerned about the education of their children, and he spoke directly to that message or a Logan. I think if if both parties would start doing more of that we have a healthier system. Absolutely let's go get so many calls they wish to take some phone calls trek lives like some more if you can call and delay celebratory mood.
Seems like a lot of our cost is going to make this calling to New Hampshire on line 5. Date while I all very happy about the results over there in Virginia and I think this you know the same thing to happen. The midterms I think people are unhappy and frustrated with. You know what's going on with our country and you know the Biden's agenda and covert and other similar things that I think were frustrated with going on. Nate brings up the Biden agenda and then it touched on this earlier, but a lot of people see this as a rebuke on the way that things have been going in Washington DC we seen poll numbers about the Biden administration tanking leasing the support of their agenda tanking. We seen these negotiations drag out within the reconciliation and infrastructure bills that the trying to put forward with things like the IRS spying on your bank accounts and the social programs that don't really have anything to do with infrastructure per se, but this should be a clear message for Democrats as they're getting ready for 2022 that maybe we don't need to be so heavily tied all the social spending but that message isn't necessary. Getting across to all the Democrats that are in Congress with here that Nancy Pelosi is Artie said this won't affect their agenda but Sen. Dick Durbin tried to use it in a very cleverly spun way that the loss of Terry McAuliffe should mean that they need to double down to get the work done and he said that this morning. This is bite 30 Terry McAuliffe was saying for weeks that his fate was tied to the progress of associations here on Capitol Hill and the clear message to my party and those who supported John yeah get the job done is right think there's a lot of people who are deeply concerned look on a lot of my devoted friends with lots of the time my friend group is is certainly large terms of political spectrum.
I respect everybody. I don't see a lot of eye I see a lot of this.
I like it better than trump, but you will not his biggest fan. However you for Biden. I think that's that's rhetoric you hear if they had a DC three years into a presidency when everyone started to get sick of even their own guy that's not something usually here.
9 to 11 months in unit you know Logan only in DC could you have a result like last night and get a reaction like you got from Speaker Pelosi and Dick Durbin that old maybe we need to double down even harder on the agenda that voters in a blue state, and in purple state rejected very conclusively last night I looked Logan. I think if you want to see what the reaction will be from people hack who actually have to go in front of the voters that you're talking about and make the case that they're the best one to keep keep that message forward. You need to look at places like West Virginia and Joe mansion.
You need to look at places like the suburban precinct that we talked about last night or yesterday on the show Logan and Glenn Young can one all of those counties that we talked about by 10 to 15%.
Voters in those districts clearly took a look at the agenda and said look we might even like this guy. We might like Pres. Biden. We don't like his agenda and we want them to moderate it so but finally getting to get the vote from Joe mansion on something like that massive reconciliation bill.
Or, quite frankly Logan I don't even know if you get it through the house.
At this point. Yeah we we have a pretty moderate world. I think a lot of our country. A lot of people don't realize how many people out there that are not telling the partyline in our voting, how they feel in that specific election about that specific candidates agenda and I think it's hard when you in. You have your seed into your Fox News is when you have your MS to be seizing the Newsmax do not think the world is just red and blue very hard lied and I in what this election should tell a lot of you is that that is not the case that is they had said the suburbs are full of a lot of moderates were ready to vote for people who will help their families will help will not be ultra progressive or maybe ultraconservative. There are pit places for these candidates in this country. They need to look at Ed diving way deeper into the messaging confusion with in the Democratic Party right now it is very stark because we should played what Sen. Durbin said, and we hear what Nancy Pelosi said we heard what Carla Harris said this what you referenced earlier from Pres. Biden and while Durbin is saying if we got in the negotiations for maybe it would've been the victory present Biden sing the opposite invite 47 I believe she said whether I am doing well or poorly, whether I have any real when you gotta say that about Joe Biden. Sometimes the guys may be a little too honest statement which is I don't know if there is any evidence of whether I'm doing well or poorly say that when you're the President are there's political that you will say I'm doing poorly ever argument but that people's minds. Pretty interesting that he would even say that over the impact on winning or losing it into converse that hell is that, Harris clipping play again by seven from Alaris Turner 2020 2024 and on like phone lines are jammed right outside.
A lot of you have a lot to retake as many of those calls we can't come to the next segment Terry Hutchinson. He's a joyous talk about another historic with out of Virginia may have heard about it, then briefly mentioned it course not make you mainstream news that much to talk about it because it's a big deal to have that the love that the next segment. Later the show recruit else to be joining us and I have a feeling he has a lot to say about this.
Just a hunch. Just a hunch. He's got a lot to say about this will be right back a more secular. Only one. A society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice is, is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying when you stand with the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life. We created a free and powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn is called mission will show you how you are personally publication includes a look at all major ACLJ were fighting for the rights of pro-life activists ramifications.
40 years later Planned Parenthood's role in the Washington Street and what Obama care means to discover the many ways your membership is powering the right question for mission in life today online/the American Center for Law and Justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad. Whether it's defending religious freedom. Protecting those faith uncovering corruption in the Washington bureaucracy fighting to protect life in the courts and in Congress. ACLJ would not be able to do any of this without your support for that. We are grateful. Now there's an opportunity for you to help me way for limited time you can participate in the ACLJ's matching challenge for every dollar you donate $10 gift comes 20 oh $50 gift becomes 100.
This is a critical time for the ACLJ. The work we simply would not occur without your generous heart wrenching challenge to make a difference in protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms most important to you today online okay secular. We are discussing the historic elections coming out of Virginia and even potentially out of New Jersey Nets even with the big neck and back that's historic enough coming out of New Jersey as look in my lifetime. This is what happens to the this is willing to talk about this earlier discussion how it's supposed to work the system is working pretty well. We don't have a sweeping change in 2020, and then you see an agenda start going forward. And while all the media wanted people to believe that no Republican could ever win in the United States of America again. You start to see these close races why because the agenda that's been put forward wine isn't fully what was necessarily sold to the public during the campaign into it's not working out the way they expected it.
So what is the American people do they go vote as they have the right to do and they vote for change and that's what we saw last night sure and return by Harry Hutchinson read discuss a couple things a historic went also out of Virginia for the Virginia Lieut. Gov.'s winsome Sears is the first female and woman of color in the office entirely. The state of the history of the Commonwealth of Virginia right to clarify that not just this time or whenever it is not just first first first female and woman of color to be in this position the big deal, one that you're not seeing is the major headlines. I think it's a huge deal. We need to discuss that as well.
As the looming critical race theory concept that I think a lot of us have had a lot of questions about defining it's been a hard there's been honestly with the on the left and the right this minute, is this a real thing. Is this just a political tactic been involved with schools of CFCs of the stuff firsthand. I know it is happening at some ways in schools and it's not of proactive fiction. Any a lot of people hear those words in it.
It's not unlike a lot of things where of course you want to be compassionate and considerate. But clearly, when Virginia not only elects the first woman of color also rebukes the concept of having this in their schools that that narrative doesn't really fit the more hair you can't say oh well this is clearly just white voters who decided they didn't like.
Critical race theory. This is specifically voters who said they didn't really like the critical race theory concept but also there electing the first woman of color.
How does that benefit anyone ferret well it doesn't and it we should also keep in mind that many of the suburban voters who voted for Young and the Republicans they voted for Biden in 2020. They were upset because of their concerns about critical race theory, school safety, sexual assaults, at school, those concerns were not being taken seriously and so we've had commentator after commentator say that critical race theory is not taught in Virginia.
Terry McAuliffe has said critical race theory is not being taught in Virginia except Terry McAuliffe introduced critical race theory. In a memo that he sent out from the Department of Education in 2015 and if you look at the Loudoun County website you will find evidence that critical race theory is indeed being taught in Virginia so when the Democrats claim that concern for critical race theory is simply a dog whistle for racism. They are indeed mistaken and in my view they have engaged in an outright fabrication and the leading fabricator has always been Terry McAuliffe himself.
That's one of the maybe big problems with the labeling of something like critical race theory of failure flipping through a book site generally hardware at the critical race theory chapter of this book that's not how this works. It is a car its curriculum why it's a concept more than it is a curriculum that I think that is the that's the problem. I think it's a disconnect with a lot of people doesn't exist in the sense of giving your flipping to the book ago and now kids. We get the critical race. That's not how it works. It's an overall mindset if you will, of the school is Karen and I think many commentators and many Democrats are confused because critical race theory originated in so-called critical theory, which then became critical legal theory, and then they simply have conflated critical legal theory, which is a very academic very bright, started at Harvard Law school with critical race theory bought. If you go to the Loudoun County website is currently hosting a lesson plan explicitly teaching critical race theory to Keds the Virginia Department of education is currently promoting critical race theory on its website and so it's very imperative.
I think for everyone in the country to become engaged in what their kids are being taught in public and in private schools because many times when critical race theory is being taught. The proponents of critical race theory they use so-called softer language racially inclusive language or whatever.
Sounds good, stuff that all peer and and so sometimes it seems quite innocent.
Bought at the bottom line. It is grounded in Marxism, cultural Marxism and Marxist theory while in one problem that we see is when the left and people in the media start playing a gotcha game with parents, though they'll find apparent that speaking at a school board that's very passionate about their children's education and they'll find a flaw in maybe the inarticulate way they were discussing critical race theory because critical race theory as is Harry mentioned is something that's kind of evolving or floating through because it denied ideology. It doesn't have like you brought up stamped.
This is the section about critical race theory. So maybe they say something a little inarticulate or something that isn't precise and then the left will jump on that milk see they don't know what they're talking about. That doesn't exist of what is said, that is two sides of the Holocaust discussion and therefore then the parent they are basically saying doesn't get to have a say because I don't fully know what they're talking about and what their children are being taught that false narrative. Of course, the parent should have, say, of course, the parent should become more involved in the learn about what's being taught, and if they have a problem with it, then they should have the right to go there and speak that, but instead the left and the elite is Harry always talks about don't want the parents to have that because they want the children to be more subject of the state. One thing we need to discuss forget to break here is not to say that when coming out of Virginia.
Also, for when some Sears. I think that that is not again not asserting front-page news and because again I don't think it fits the narrative and we need a five club social rehab clips pulled from her except her speech which was unbelievable and was an emotional patriotic against woman from Jamaica who widened the bridge anything that way. A woman from Jamaica just wanted this position to became the first woman of color in the first what woman a general right yet and first female to hold the position hold up Lieut. Gov. this is a massive deal.
We can't just because it's a more conservative candidate. It can't just become something that is swept under the rug.
Absolutely. So in the review rank around Marine that you critical race theory.
Many Democrats have gone ballistic claiming that Republicans are the true rations and yet it is a Republican who is replacing the current governor of Virginia who has been caught in blackface and a KKK uniform. It's a Republican woman who has become the first Jamaican African-American Lt. Gov. in Virginia history.
We have also an attorney general who has been elected who whisk Cuban American and so at the end of the day, you should look at the Republican administration going forward because it is highly representative even if we get down we look at racial terms of the populace of the state of Virginia. Contrary to what the Democrats are saying absolutely right have more of that discussion as well. The second half hour of secular. Also joining us record be on the show.
I'm sure you got a lot to say thank Harry will vary back tomorrow. The American Center for Law and justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad for limited time you can participate in the ACLJ matching challenge for every dollar you donate, it will be $10 gift becomes $20, $50 gift becomes 100 can make a difference in the protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms most to you and your family. Give a gift today online ACLJ keeping you informed and now is now your hose Logan Sekulow back to secular just joining us from Setauket. The Virginia election the historic Virginia elections not only seeing other governors race go to Republican after a strong showing in a clear-cut victory by Joe Biden. Just a year ago and though it's been a long year.
Everyone that was just a year ago there were 1 Your Way now, so they were halfway through to the midterm elections there so much to cover and and you had in New Jersey at least a very close race. Now it looks like it is probably going to go for the Democrat as the trends seem to be headed that way.
But that shipment had been in the discussion that something we talked about what they had. It's pretty wild that this is happening in politics. If you're interested in politics public. This is fun. These are the nights that are interesting to watch the news because you don't think about Virginia as being something that that the world should care about Yahoo made them care about it, Harris, Joe Biden, Pres. Obama, who all made the pilgrimage to Virginia to try to do that should have been the first side.
This was a good to go the way they they wanted to go as you don't roll out those heavy hitters in the present front of the tell Townhall it just doesn't work that when a quick update on New Jersey when he started to show the incumbent Democrat Phil Murphy was still in the lead by about 1500 votes. According to the New York Times count that says updated eight minutes ago 88% reported the Republican is now back up by about 400 votes of this is good be a neck and neck to the finish line. It still not been called, but the Republican has gone back in the vote tally by about 400 votes of this is an over. It's not like, but I will close my goodness is pretty wild. Think about them arrive in the next segment really have Rick Grenell on we do a ton of you have been on the phone.
Let's try to get a couple of you because I feel bad.
Let's go first to dog in Ohio that you hold about half an hour.
Those who been a whole half an hour to get to you next dog on their well Michael father Marie from Ohio is alive and well go much secular leader entire team and I want to say especially big thank you to the people. Wonderful people in the great state of Virginia. My children thank you-thank you. I feel a shift.
Let's go. Let's get this movement done appreciate you calling and appreciate your comments. What's interesting is the city of the mega movement is alive and well, I'd say that that is true and accurate because like I just maybe came from keys of Florida and I will tell you it's very alive. There I said this wasn't really a minute, this wasn't necessarily the most mega of elections and that's something that we need look to also as conservatives go doesn't know how it have to be this way you can be running on things like education were discussed at next segment Rick Grenell.
It doesn't all have to be a bass ticket rooted aggressive, it can be a more compassionate look at something will is a coalition looking at me very conclusively that just a fact. It's not even really analysis. If you look at Western Virginia look at southwestern Virginia had the typical upfront voter, even one who would call themselves nomadic world. They all came out heavily for Glenn Young can, but so did other suburban soccer mom so to speak, who voted for Joe Biden last time at Logan look in places like Virginia. That's the only way a Republican wins election is if they build a coalition and like we talked about earlier if they talk about real issues facing real people and put real solutions for living, just briefly loving you talked with Harry about CRT schools were closed for 18 months.
Parents were literally the teachers of their children first. So for a candidate to come in and tell the people who have been teaching their own children for the last 18 months, you have no role here that was just a complete disconnect and Glenn Young can was able to build that coalition and talk about that more we get back with Rick Grenell on the show, as well as showing some more soundbites got some great soundbites last night and I will plan for you in those who want to call and you can I will be honest with Lester calling from Virginia are you calling from New Jersey, maybe home for little really get to the last segment of the show so you're on hold right now. I apologize, never Grenell coming up next and I want to hear what he has to say 100-684-3110. Hey this JC LJ got politics and news. This LJ is doing incredible work around the world. I could use your support good AC LJ.org right now are the matching challenge. And that's exactly what you are saying when you stand with the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life. We created a free powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn Gold mission will show you how you are personally publication includes a look at all major ACLJ were fighting for the rights of pro-life activist ramifications 40 years later Planned Parenthood's role in the abortion industry and what Obama care means to discover the many ways your membership is powering the right question mission in life today online/Rick Grenell Rick Rick feel like I do you set this up the bill you got a lot to say. Obviously a night to remember last night and Virginia's let's just get your general thoughts that will jump right in to some of the reasons why this happened but I think it's all about parents.
I think parents have been watching their kids and zoom school for a full year and they got an education on what's been happening inside the schools. We know that our kids are being taught to hate America they're being taught that America is not a great place and I think parents are really angry about it. And so the Biden overreach of the last several months and the last really inability to see that there they're ruining so many of the great policies that Trump was able to accomplish and really convinced just the typical suburban voter that they need to vote Republican. They need to be able to have a say in their child's education and the left is not letting them do it.
It's pretty phenomenal to see the look of these guys just earlier the show does show you based on the numbers. The percentages there still a good amount of people who were so plugged in the politics who are voting on the candidate voting on the positioner voting for specifically when things affect their family, not just I vote Republican. Every time I vote Democrat every time. This was a rebuke of what was going on in Virginia and what's happening around the country. I was that we have small kids on scene zoom school firsthand.
Thankfully my kids.
But back to school for a while now, but it had to go back and they had to go back at some of that's been due to quarantining a few things like a week so they have at school. You quickly remember that just was being taught in school, but also how that just did not work and how it's just straight up chaos.
You do see a voter who is still on that line was not really partyline. I think that's pretty interesting yeah I also would add one thing is that for Terry McAuliffe who is the consummate Democrat former governor. He really went all in on the anti-Trump message he had, Harris, Joe Biden, Barack Obama. He had all of the Democrat superstars coming in and yet the Virginia voters said I think that that's an overreach that the Democratic message is not a good one for my family and for my kids and so even in the face of all of the money and all of the big popular Democrats coming into the state. Virginia voters rejected what I would say is an overreach and a really an embrace of localism and what we're seeing is a rejection of that and now a whole bunch of people across the United States are very nervous about being too close to they cancel culture of the wall culture and to denying parents the ability to get involved in their kids education will not Rick was one of the biggest turning points. I feel like for the. The entire race was that you know Terry McAuliffe had said in the debate that I don't think parents should be telling schools with they should teach now that say a local issue that turned out. A lot of people but that bite and I number play it because just hearing it is shocking so it's going play it and I got a question for you.
I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach so the running before that governorship was rejected because largely of that statement, but were hearing politicians all over the country saying a very similar message in their local elections at their local school boards. What's your take on what the rest of the country is going to say to those politicians when they hear similarly which it such a great question and let me answer it by just talking about what's happening here in California. I have never seen so many parents and I don't even know if these parents are Republican or Democrat. But overwhelming number of parents have decided to get involved in their school boards to either run for school board or to show up at a school board meeting that's unprecedented. Usually people just let it go but after a year of zoom school. I think there's a big damage here in California I'd launch this organization called fix California. Hopefully people will go to fix California.com and in that we have a ballot initiative next year to ask the voters of California do you want to upend the way we fund education and have the $13,000 per year per student that the state spends being given to the parents and let the parents choose where their kid is going to be educated that'll upend our schools because it will create competition much needed competition. We Americans know competition is a good thing, but in our school system we currently don't have competition yet and I think that is a great point in its appointment, when you look at this from a bigger point of view you carry will discuss this now for the last few segments of whether people believed in critical race theory where they did not believe in critical race theory, whether that was the devoting topic, whether that was good to be what people cared about. I think Rick, brought it to full spectrum parents. I know wasn't necessarily specific. Just that concept. It was education of kids that is become front center. I like the fact Ricky said that a lot of this is because now zoom school. They a lot of us were sitting over the shoulder of our kids actually hear what was going on.
I think that's correct. And I also think that because of that, and I think Rex correct up in this that many parents now favor some form of school choice. Keep in mind that for 18 months.
In some jurisdictions parents had no choice but to teach their kids or help them learn at home and so they're now saying why don't I have access to that money. And then I can send my child to the school that I prefer. This is an issue that the ACLJ has been involved in four decades. We filed the brief in the Carson versus Macon case I which involves the possibility of school choice in Maine and we have been so very supportive of efforts by parents throughout the country to engineer if you will.
School choice in their own district. So I think this issue is going to be with us for a very long time and that is she reckoned as well as people forget a year ago right before the election, or the 1776 commission had come to play from Pres. Trump not something that got a lot of attention. I receive elections out of the had consequences. Something strange but clearly the voters to care about this, but I think it's just, you know, our parents are busy and they had faith in the fact that our schools are educating the children and that they don't have to be involved, but all of that changed with zoom school because there was a real crash in education about what was being taught in a realization at the same time that many of our kids are growing to hate America or thinking that were a terrible place and the their ill-equipped for the, the job world and so I think all of this is come together at a point where parents are saying you know I gotta take back control. I need to get involved. It's more my responsibility there showing up at school board meetings like never before, reversing the massive crowd sometimes gets a little chaotic but you know what it's part of the process were seeing people get involved, which in general can be a really great thing to get involved more in and what your kids are learning. I know as a kid is a dad of three young kids were now in elementary school, it does become chaotic to know what exactly who is learning where you have to your kids friends with her. At that age. You know what this stuff is happening at an elementary school even you try like going to grill your kids the light be like what you learned in usually year. If you have small kids you know the answers are no, I'm not sure nothing I whenever we had fun reads as lunches go get pizza AAA that's a conversation you have in your trying to get out what you learned that you not an elevated drawing was fun babe you like. There isn't much that conversations about people of seen it will. It's a different world well and in one interesting thing that Rick brought up earlier was that he sing parents or want to get involved.
He doesn't know if the Democrats or Republicans what their ideology is but there were understanding the importance of parents being involved in their children's education and there was something that happened a few weeks back where the President of the American speech.
Teachers Federation who is that the big teachers union.
She actually spoke at the last rally for Terry McAuliffe and got a lot of criticism that he was showcasing the teachers union was all about education, but she tweeted an article about Detroit schools were parents were making the hard choice to send their kids to a different district because they had mask mandates in place in the district. They wanted their kids to go to because the parents had to make a hard choice but what was the best decision for their kids. Teachers union President tweeted this out saying parents are making the hard choice for their children's she was endorsing what we've been saying all along that school choice should be in the hands of the parents because they can make the best decision for what's right for their children's education. They would never say that in public that they were endorsing what we say. But that's exactly what's going on, regardless of ideology. Parents know best for their kids.
Absolutely. Thank you Rick appreciate you join us for hearing more in your thoughts of this election and what this means. Also for the future know that's of the people very curious about the next 12 months or is all the plays out.
1224 and 36 months then you're already back at itself will be discussing that and not sure here on secular. We do have a few lines open right now would take as many calls as we can. Is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life, we've created a free and powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn is called mission will show you how you personally.

Most beautiful gift today online okay segment secular for the day. I want to think everyone is joyous. Obviously, all of you called it for a bit. Washington DC Rick Grenell Harry Hutchison wills majority will of the way there no executive producer of the show. He just comes on this side of the box when I'm hosting which I appreciate as I usually need to back up and I appreciate what he does that. So want to make sure people know that easier each and every day.
This right over there on the glass people beyond the people beyond the glass I will go to y'all by name but I can't see everybody. So I feel bad got that you got Tim got Allie got right red admit wealth is in there. There, thank you for all that you do.
Let's take some phone calls. I like the ideal your phone calls to go to give that to Matt. He got a deal with all you guys calling one 800 684 30 want to let go in order to go to Julie Scullion Oregon Julie whole 45 minutes, we continued something we probably should figure that work will have to figure something I'm not sure what when Julie are on their plan in the very liberal because I like your downtime one more time everything happening here in Oregon everything going and check violent, and Lincoln literally went from delightful that both of them were thankful to the Lord and then when Lincoln was giving here on that greatly And pick care of their grandmother four times.
I'm happy and I look at that and we went out for an illegal fireworks know it was because the elections in Virginia which is while that's great Julie, thank you so sure because we should you have some of those bites ugly from those speeches got its it is reported that we hear will what we got.
That's right so this is from the Lieut. Gov. elect Winsome Sears and I mean if you can go here a Jamaican born woman. The first Marine in the first woman and person of color to be a woman of color to be elected lieutenant governor of Virginia so you talk about breaking you 10 glass ceilings in this a while and in the ears of her speech rather yes or in a play by 48 and if you have time this afternoon.
I encourage everyone go back and watch the speech, the media should've been focused on her all night last night. Instead, they were focused on calling this a racist win in Virginia but instead the Delta virus in the Delta variance of Trump is on but hadn't played by 48 and drain.
When my father came this country on the 11th of 1963 came the civil rights movement from Jamaica. He came and I said to him, but it was such a bad time for us. Why did you, and he said because America was where the jobs and the opportunities were great speeches.
The small segment of the speech from Winsome Sears, Harry, again another moment that we should not be downplaying. I think this is a huge deal and sometimes born in Jamaica. It serves him to America in the 60s and is now Lieut. Gov. after serving our country is now to the governor of a state like Virginia which has no interesting past, absolutely.
So this is a moment in US history that we should all celebrate, but it's also important to keep in mind that this is a moment in US history that does not fit a prescribed narrative that is coming from the left.
The last basically has said that America is either redeemable it irredeemably racist and yet one of the best speeches in my living memory comes from an African-American elected as a Republican in the state of Virginia. That was a state that 20, 30 years ago I wouldn't even consider living in, but if you look at Virginia today.
If you look at much of the South. Today it is still a land of opportunity, and that the land of opportunity for every single American who wishes to take advantage of it absolutely lets appreciate all those statements. Harry, let's get through these last few calls. The day of Roberta's calling Colorado Roberta earlier.
They strove so long will also get you something for You got everything I do fairly quick to say thank you to all of the poll watcher. Thank you to all of the folder and may we go forward and be more pro-life voters reverted straight to the point of the that's an interesting comment as well to talk about life as I was a lot happening. Hopefully this also. I know there is so much debate, after the chaos of the last election. You should at least have some bit of call, knowing that there are some of these elections that are handled appropriately. We didn't even know we have a result. Last night we had results very quickly and uncontested.
So I think that is a good thing moving forward.
Hopefully look for the future of elections in general. I let's take this last call from the state of Virginia is Sandra from Mount Vernon you're on the air about many combat encouraged God that he called it off-line that is actually an interesting point. Would you live in a Mount Vernon timeslot is known historically as the home of George Washington, but a very liberal area. As you said, clearly, and pitched within 40 wrap up just being a very liberal area didn't mean everything in this election and, in that really is something pretty poignant yellow pretty close to Sandra Logan so I appreciate her at luck. Last night's a great example of this in America, the people still have the power and like you said a minute ago Logan there.
There are ways to utilize that you utilize it at the ballot box and if I could just briefly and tied to the East.
The work of the sale date.
You not only have to go to the ballot box and elect people who will address problems that you are facing your real life. But Logan wants they're here, or once they're in the statehouse. You gotta continue to engage them.
You got a partner with groups like the sale J and engage in advocacy because look, you have to follow through and make sure that the things that the politicians tell you they're going to do their gonna do so thank you to Sandra thinking to the people that engage and now here's the truth. Logan, the real work starts. We gotta make sure that we advanced sound policy that helps real people absolutely catches rest. Auto win for conservatives for conservative point of view is that we never told you vote for will never tell you vote for on this show to see some more represent. We know our audience. There are some people who are more representative back to earth. Tromso were always good to give you all our worldview at the ACLJ. I appreciate everyone listen the shiner today is somewhat celebratory day for a lot of people.
