In breaking news, the Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris has claimed that the border crisis is at least partially to blame on climate change. Kamala Harris stated that one of the "root causes" for the surge in migration at the border is "the lack of climate adaptation and climate resilience." Jay and the whole team, including ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell, discuss this baffling claim by VP Harris and more today on Sekulow .

Breaking news, this is Jay Sekulow. The Vice President of the United States claims that the border crisis is actually a climate crisis.

Live from Washington, D.C., Sekulow Live. We are focused on addressing both the acute factors and the root causes of migration. Phone lines are open for your questions right now.

Call 1-800-684-3110. I'm thinking of corruption, violence, and poverty, the lack of economic opportunity, the lack of climate adaptation, and climate resilience. And now, Chief Counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, Jay Sekulow. So that's the Vice President of the United States just heard in that opening, saying that the migration and immigration crisis, the border crisis, is in part to blame on the lack of climate adaptation and climate resilience. Let me read you some headlines. These are headlines from CNN. Nearly 6,000 undocumented immigrants apprehended daily at the U.S.-Mexico border. CNN – Massive smuggling industry drives record numbers at U.S. border. Fox News – Arizona Border Patrol agents nabbed more than 1,600 migrants over the weekend.

New York Times – Many families torn apart at southern border face a long and uncertain fate. San Angelo Live – Border Patrol agents stop another 4 million in meth from entering the U.S. Then I'll close with The Hill – Majority voters say surge at the border is a crisis. You know what none of these headlines say? Not one. Not one headline says that the border crisis, the migration crisis at our southern border, is because of climate change.

I want that to sink in for a moment. Do we have just the bite of her talking about the climate change part? I want you to hear this again, because this is why ineffective policies exist.

Take a listen. And then there are the long-standing issues, the root causes. And I'm thinking of corruption, violence and poverty, the lack of economic opportunity, the lack of climate adaptation and climate resilience, the lack of good governance. Climate adaptation and climate resilience – I don't think that, Andy, is what's on the mind of the people that are trying to get into the United States or the coyotes that are bringing them in illegally. They're fleeing their country because of climate change. As our producer said, I don't think that the people in Guatemala or Honduras are concerned about the carbon footprint that they're leaving on the earth or that their governments are permitting to exist. Look, Jay, since the Gothic migrations of the 5th century from Central Asia into Western Europe, I have never heard a more simplistic and ridiculous statement that the change in climate has caused the – or is a factor driving or otherwise in migration of large groups of people, as we see at the southern border.

That is not a reason for it. That is an overly simplistic view and it fails to understand that it is, that there are other factors – forced, economic – but she's making it so simplistic and so ridiculous as to scarcely defy analysis. And of course, as soon as you put climate in it, and climate is one of the causes, guess who you get with that package? You get John Kerry, right Wes?

Absolutely, yeah. And this is – if it were not so serious, it would be laughable. But part of the left's modus operandi here is that they attach climate change to virtually every issue because when they do that, it gives them permission to address every issue from their perspective, which includes, you know, raising taxes, spending money the United States doesn't have, affecting military policy, on and on and on.

If they label it climate change, they have a blank check to do whatever they want to do in their minds. Okay, we've got – by the way, there are two bills in Congress that we're working on. Than, really quick, we only got 40 seconds here. Rick Grenell's joining us, by the way, our senior advisor in the next segment.

But Than, really quick. Yeah, plenty of opportunities for bipartisan engagement here. Stopping child trafficking, a bill by Marsha Blackburn. Yvette Harrell's got one in the House that would put COVID protocols in place. And then, by the way, Jay, bipartisan proposals in the Senate that could move too, if any Democrats were willing to work on it.

Well, we'll find out soon enough. We are fighting back and that's why we're working on legislation, because climate change is not the answer to the migration border crisis on our southern border. Folks, Rick Grenell joining us next. We've got a lot to talk about. Share this feed with your friend and support the work of the ACLJ, ACLJ.org.

I do want to play though. I want to get our team to pull the bite about, we don't know if it's the father or the smuggler when they're crossing the border. Rick Grenell is a senior advisor to the ACLJ on international security and of course domestic issues as well. But I want to start with this, Rick. Look, I mean, Vice President Harris has actually said that part of the climb, the border crisis is, quote, the lack of climate adaptation and climate resilience. Let me play that bite again. It's very important to play the bite so that people understand. I like to point to the evidence.

This is actually what she said. And then there are the longstanding issues, the root causes. And I'm thinking of corruption, violence and poverty, the lack of economic opportunity, the lack of climate adaptation and climate resilience. Okay.

So some of those are legit. I mean, corruption, people flee from corruption and people free from lack of opportunities. But I don't think anybody crossing the borders thinking about the climate crisis or climate adaptation or climate resilience. I suspect they don't know what climate adaptation and climate resilience is even involved in border issues. Yeah, look, Vice President Kamala Harris should have stopped after the fourth point that she made.

Corruption and economic hardship, poverty, those are all legitimate reasons. But when she goes to the next level and politicizes the border crisis, and let's make it very clear, what's happening with this Biden administration is the far left woke policies are immediately coming in and infiltrating all of the cabinet secretaries. And this is politicization of our policies. We see it in transportation where the Secretary of Transportation is talking about streets being racist. We see it in the CIA now where we're recruiting people. If you are full of race trauma and anxiety, somehow the CIA now wants you in their ranks. And now we see it from the Vice President of the United States who's turning the border crisis into an issue of climate change.

That is crazy. And only in Washington DC does this go over. Everybody else on the outside of Washington DC says, what are you talking about? This is just the reality of what happens in Washington, Jay, you know this, you get there, you listen to your neighbor, you listen to the newsrooms and press people feed off each other.

It's a real problem. And that's why we call it the swamp. It sounds like a funny name, but a swamp is really an area where there's no fresh water coming in. We don't have fresh water, fresh ideas going into Washington DC.

No, in fact, it's the opposite. The reports are that there were nearly 6,000 unaccompanied minors again this month, which is almost exactly the same as last month. So the border crisis continues. I read earlier the headlines from CNN and Fox and New York Times, and none of them talk about climate crisis. And of course, this also Rick puts John, I mean, as soon as you mentioned climate, you've got your climate czar John Kerry right back in the middle of another thing you should have nothing to do with. Well, John Kerry is now going to have an aspect of the border.

He's in charge of climate crisis. Whenever there's a climate crisis anywhere, whether it's the Paris Accord or dealing with Iran or now the border crisis, we're going to bring in John Kerry. Look, this also goes to the point that, let's be honest, the people that are running policy in Washington DC are Susan Rice and John Kerry. Joe Biden is just listening and trying to put one foot in front of the other and get upstairs. And now we've got Kamala, a vice President of the United States who's distracted by the 50-50 vote in the Senate. She's got to be at the Senate all of the time to make sure that everything goes their way. And so the policies that are being developed are from Susan Rice and John Kerry. Remember, Susan Rice is in charge of domestic policy and somehow the border crisis is now a climate crisis and we're bleeding into domestic and foreign policy as all one. Let me go to Than Bennett, our director of government affairs, because just following up what Rick says, we actually have some concrete solutions to this border situation legislatively that we're working on, Than.

And you only got 30 seconds last time. Let's go ahead and lay out what the two plans are, especially when it comes to the 6,000 unaccompanied minors. You don't know if the person bringing them in that are accompanied are their parent or whether they're a smuggler coyote.

You don't know. But let's talk about the legislative fixes that could get done if Washington would concentrate. The first legislative fix, Jay, is directly to that issue that you and Rick just talked about. I mean, it's one that ought to have automatic support from Republicans, Democrats and independents alike. It's called the End Child Trafficking Now Act introduced by Senator Marsha Blackburn. I mean, Jay, think about how common sense this is.

If you get a minor that comes to the border and they're with an adult, you need to make sure that that adult actually is their family member, is their guardian and is all you need. Very simple. It takes minutes.

Minutes is all it takes. Jay, there is not a single Democrat that has cosponsored that piece of legislation. It ought to pass tomorrow in the United States Senate. Then in the House of Representatives, Jay, there's a piece of legislation equally as common sense. It's put forward by Yvette Harrell that just says the COVID protocols that were put forward by the Trump administration, basically the same ones that apply at any airport that you go through. Those are going to be applied at the border as well. Those have been suspended by the Biden administration. And Nancy Pelosi is blocking it in the House.

And Jay, if I could maybe attack on just another one real quick. John Cornyn and Kyrsten Sinema, bipartisan bill in the United States Senate, probably a lot of things in there that there's disagreement on. But some things ought to be easy, Jay, like making sure someone who claims that they are seeking asylum actually have credible fear. Maybe that they haven't passed through more than one country and didn't claim asylum in those countries as they passed. That should pass. You're 100% correct. But here's the problem.

I'm going to go back to Rick on this. According to the vice President's theory now, I guess the basis for asylum could be, which is not in the international law, by the way, the lack of climate adaptation or climate resilience of their country of origin. Look, let's be very clear about this. We are treating those people who wait in line, who come to the State Department and try to get a visa or try to get a green card. We're treating that group that follows the law, that waits in line differently than those who are jumping the line and breaking the law.

Because the reality is, is that if you approach the State Department and you say, I have a child that is born overseas, but it's my child and I want this child to become a U.S. citizen, the State Department does DNA testing to make sure that that person is actually who they say they are. We are already doing this for those who follow the rules. Why aren't we doing this for those who are breaking the law? You know, and let's talk about breaking the law.

I want to go to Andy on this. And that is, we know, you and I have had experience in these kinds of cases. I argue one of the Georgia Supreme Court involvement. Of course, anytime you got child pornography or child trafficking, these are big issues. But these, this is the problem. When you don't, Andy, have a check in place, when you don't have a system in place, when your priority on the border is worrying about climate adaptation and climate resilience, instead of unaccompanied minors or minors coming over with coyotes that are going to put them into sex trafficking, you refuse to identify the problem, you don't win the case.

That's absolutely correct, Jay. What we have here is creating an atmosphere where coyotes are bringing in children, they're bringing in drugs, they're bringing in the products of cartel action in narcotics and illegal drugs across the border. And we have no check on that, because we're being diverted and being told that one of the reasons for the migration is that there is climate failures on the part of the governments of the countries from which they are fleeing, instead of concentrating on the law and seeing what is actually happening and the volume of drugs that is pouring in, not just on the southwestern border, Jay, but in all throughout the United States, in the southeast, in the middle of the country and so forth, and that's spreading throughout. So this is not just a southeastern origin problem, it is one that pervades the nation as a whole because of what is being stated is a climate motivation for the movement. That's ridiculous.

I've never heard of anything so foolish. Rick, we got a minute here, but you're going to stay with us for the next segment, which we appreciate. We've got to get some concrete solutions to this because it's affecting economies and it's affecting people and it affects these kids.

I know we only got a minute here. Give us a kind of an overview of what you think needs to happen. Look, first of all, I want our listeners to understand that the American people are the most generous people in the world. One million people a year become US citizens.

We welcome those people, but a hundred million people want to come in. We have to have rules. The solution is follow the law, follow the rules. Don't jump the line.

Don't be a cheater. That's really what we already have a great system in place. Follow the rules. Follow the rules is right. And then there's ways to improve that as well.

And then for legitimate asylum seekers, we should be able to be able to process those in an appropriate way. That would be the goal here. All right, stay tuned with us. We're going to be back with more with Rick Rinnell and our team. We've got a lot to discuss. If you're watching our social media applications, share this with your friends. Great way to do it. I want to say again, a huge thank you to our ACLJ members.

We had March and April were just fantastic. We went past our stretch goals. Your support made that happen. That's the reason we have people like Rick Rinnell in this studio and lawyers throughout the world, literally around the globe because of your support of the ACLJ. So again, I just want to say as we get ready to go into a break, thank you. We've got a great video coming up.

You're going to watch that again. Share this information with your friend and continue to support the work of the ACLJ. It's so easy to do at ACLJ.org. Only when a society can agree that the most vulnerable and voiceless deserve to be protected.

Become a member today, ACLJ.org. Hey, welcome back. So the numbers for April look like they're going to be the same as or close to it as March, as far as the number of unaccompanied minors and the number of what are called apprehensions and the number of people crossing the border.

So it continues on this very high scale. And yet, neither the President nor the vice President have been bound to the border. Now, I talk about the ministry of presence. Sometimes you just got to be there to know what's going on. They refuse to show up.

Now, Colonel Smith, you were a military officer. You had to go to the field of battle to assess what was going on. How do you do that in this situation when they refuse to go? It's like, if I don't go, I don't have to recognize the crisis.

Yeah, there is no, as we call it, command presence there. What leader ever refuses to show up at the scene? We'll call it a situation. I know they don't want to call it a crisis. What leader refuses to show up? I'll call it a crisis.

Go ahead. Well, it is a crisis, but they don't want to call it that. But let's take their wordage here that it's just an issue.

Then why would you not show up, even if it's for a photo op, to pretend like you care? I think for her, it's a political calculation. That is, she doesn't want to do anything that will interfere with her future bid for President.

And this is a controversial issue. I think in some ways she's already measuring for the drapes in the Oval Office. So not showing up is a political calculation. Plus, if she sees it, Jay, she can no longer deny or act like she doesn't realize how horrible it is on a humanitarian moral level, national security, all of these issues. So it gives her plausible deniability. I didn't know, quote unquote, because she hasn't been there.

And I think she's going to continue to do that. But leadership requires knowledge. Knowledge comes from reviewing evidence, reviewing the situation to understand exactly what's going on.

And yet the vice President of the United States and the President of the United States have not gone to the border with the argument now that it is a climate-based, there's a climate-based problem to all of this, which is absurd, what they call a climate adaptation, a lack of climate adaptation and climate resilience. But they won't show up and go down there and see what's happening. So it's very hard to run a situation, understand a situation. Like when I do a criminal case, I go to the scene of the crime. Even though that could be two years later, I want to still see what happened.

If I'm doing a case, I need to look at the evidence of what happened. They refuse to do this. They say they want to address symptoms, not just the, not just the problem, but the problem is part, part of the symptoms are right there. And the problem is on the border.

This game only works in Washington, DC with a whole bunch of people who are willing to play along with this fake game. Kamala Harris, the vice President of the United States has her head in the sand. She doesn't want to go to the border because she doesn't want the pictures and the media would demand to go with her and take those pictures. And so instead of being caught in a crisis where there's pictures of her looking at a crisis at the border, she's just saying, I'm not going to go because she doesn't want that lingering image. And the Washington DC press court continue to allow her to do this because you know what, Jay, they don't want those images for Kamala Harris either. I understand.

Yeah, I know I get that. I mean that they don't want the images, but they shouldn't mind showing the images during the previous administration when President Trump was there, when your team was in office. But Andy, it goes back to the basic fundamental law 101 to examine the evidence. That's how you try a case to know the evidence, know the scene of the crime, know where the problem is, and then you could come up with craft solutions for it. That is what's lacking here.

Period. That's exactly true, Jay. I prosecuted a lot of murder cases as an assistant district attorney . There was never one in which I did not myself go to the scene of the crime or if it was a kidnapping to the scene of the kidnapping to look at the area, to check the hotel room if that's where the murder occurred or the street, if that's where the shooting occurred, to look at the lay of the land, to find out if there were witnesses around there and to actually see the topography of what is happening.

I think it is unpardonable for that not to have happened. And the reason is that seeing is knowing, and knowing then you have guilty knowledge and you can't deny it. And Kamala Harris wants to deny that, as does President Biden. So they simply stay away from seeing what is happening in this crisis proportioned area.

And that is exactly what you don't do as a criminal prosecutor and what you don't do as a leader. You know, Rick, one of the things that I'm concerned about the most on the border, I mean, the whole thing's a humanitarian crisis. But the fact is there are kids, thousands of them, thousands of them being brought to the United States for sex traffic.

And we know this. And then they come in through the border and don't think that we're on stations across the United States in all 50 states. Don't think that because it's coming in in Texas or Arizona or California, that it's not affecting you in Wisconsin, in Tennessee, in Florida, in Maine, because it does. And when you were the ambassador to Germany for the United States, the trafficking issue is a big issue around the globe.

But to not address that problem front end and address it to me is inexcusable. Look, what the lessons we learned from Germany and Europe and Chancellor Merkel's mistakes were just having a porous border. I mean, let's face it, a porous border in Europe. The words of Chancellor Merkel welcoming migrants from across the Arab world is what created Brexit. It's when the British stood up and said, we can't be a part of the system because it's a porous border. Now what we have is a porous border in the United States, fanned by Kamala Harris and Joe Biden and the Democrats. They're unwilling to look at the facts.

They want the propagandists media to cover it up for them. But there is no question that this porous border in the United States affects every single state. This is just the entry point for these child traffickers.

And then it fans out. That is just how they get into the United States. And it's going to affect every community over the next three years. On Monday, Homeland Secretary, Homeland Security Secretary said that the boarding crossings, this is their words, remain high, but tell that there's been some progress. They think they may have reduced the number of children on the U.S. border, but yet the numbers remain high and quote, whether they are as high as March is yet to be undetermined.

You mean yet to be determined is what he meant to say. The fact of the matter is this. You cannot address a problem without understanding the problem. That's fundamental 101.

So fan, explain to me briefly here why in the world politically right down the street from our office in Washington, is the President or vice President not going down to the border to observe this firsthand? It's very simple. This is not a problem in search of a solution. It's a problem in search of a political advantage for this administration.

That's just the bottom line. And Jay, I'll tell you, you talked about 6,000 apprehensions a day. What about the 1,500, what they classify as got aways every single day?

1,500 a day got away. That's what they're reporting. National security issue, Jay.

Go ahead, Wes. And not only that, human traffickers, especially sex traffickers like drug smugglers, they don't try to go through a border crossing anyway, and they're usually not apprehended. They go where they will not be confronted and apprehended. So when we talk about the moral blight of sex trafficking of children and teenagers, most of them are crossing without being apprehended.

But Rick, we got 30 seconds, 45 seconds here. The lack of their ability to go or willingness to go to me speaks volumes. It is atrocious. It's embarrassing. It is a double standard because certainly during the Trump administration, as you pointed out, the media were all over this. The Democrats were all over this.

There were memes everywhere. There was fundraising by the Democrats off what they were perceived as kids in cages, if you remember. President Trump brought this up in the debates with Joe Biden and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are completely showing their double standard.

Now it's an exact point to say it's a political advantage. That is right. All right. We appreciate it. Thanks so much, Rick, for your insight and for our entire team. We're here for another 30 minutes.

And now, Chief Counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, Jay Sekulow. Hey, everybody. Welcome back to the broadcast.

If you're just joining us, this is unbelievable, actually. We've got a crisis at the border. Now, there's a lot of reasons for that crisis, but let me tell you what Vice President Harris says now the reason is.

I'm going to play this for you in a moment, but I'm going to read it first. The lack of climate adaptation and climate resilience. People are leaving their country of origin because of lack of climate adaptation and climate resilience.

Play the bite. And then there are the longstanding issues, the root causes. And I'm thinking of corruption, violence and poverty, the lack of economic opportunity, the lack of climate adaptation and climate resilience.

Putting the smugglers aside, the human traffickers aside, the people that are trying to get here, even if it's through illegal means that are trying to flee their countries because of corruption, violence and poverty, lack of economic opportunity, that makes sense. Harry Hutchinson's our director of policy. Do you think on their mind is the lack of climate adaptation and climate resilience?

No. So, but let's go with Kamala Harris's analysis for the moment. So if climate change causes everything, then the current crisis at the border, according to the impeccable logic of Vice President Harris and President Biden, is a result of what? Climate change. And so that means that the climate changed without warning on January the 20th, 2021.

We all know this is nonsense. The crisis at the border is purely a function of erratic misbehavior by the Biden administration, which reversed policies, border policies that were actually working. So climate change, properly understood, is simply an example of irresponsibility by the Biden administration.

Logan's joining us also. The fact that they're saying lack of climate adaptation and climate resilience and refusing to go there at the border, the vice President or the President. Yeah, it's coming up with excuses, also building their own narrative. It's the whole, you know, the common story that we've had over and over again, which is, you know, as some of our colleagues were saying early on, I think they're very well aware that they're painting a picture that isn't accurate.

They're painting a picture that goes with their story and kind of smirking and laughing along the way. Do you think, Wes, because you said the lack of command control, explain what that is in military terms. Well, command presence.

Yeah, command presence. When there is an issue, a crisis, a problem going on, it can be little or large. Leaders show up partly because they need to assess the situation, but also it's a morale booster.

It shows the people. In this case, it was to show the American people that they actually care. But here's the deal. I don't think they will, like Thanh was saying earlier, and Rick, they do not want to solve this problem, but neither do they want to correctly identify the problem or correctly identify the solutions. This is all a political calculation. The Democrats have had the ability to solve this problem for a couple of decades. They refuse to do it because they use it politically and they will continue to do that. And, you know, it's not that they don't care.

They just care about the politics of it more. Yeah, we're going to take your phone calls as well at 800-684-3110 or your comments in on Facebook or YouTube, wherever you are watching us right now. 1-800-684-3110. Thanh, I go back to the way in which to solve some of this, and there's legislation addressing. We come back from the break, we'll address that more particularly, but is there any hope of getting this legislation through? We're working on it, but what's the chances? It would only take a handful of Democrats in the United States House to pass that trafficking bill, Jay.

So look, I want to be an optimist here because I hope at the end of the day, people will come to the table and say, look, we have a lot of disagreements around the issue of immigration, but we should make sure that children coming into our country, maybe they're seeking a land of opportunity. Jay, we've got to make sure they're with a family member, not someone who's going to put them into the sex trade. That should be a no brainer piece of legislation.

We're talking about the crisis at the border, which now the vice President of the United States talks about that part of the problem is lack of climate resilience and climate adaptation. I'm not kidding you. That's actually her words, but you know, they're getting pressed. The administration is getting pressed even from sources that you wouldn't necessarily expect. Craig Melvin on the Today Show at NBC.

Take a listen to this. In April alone, Mr. President, 170,000 people, migrants apprehended at the border. It's a 20-year record.

There are 22,000 unaccompanied children in our country right now. That's a record. That sounds to most folks like a crisis. Well, look, it's way down now. We've now gotten control.

Who is he kidding? Of course they don't have control. They've got catch and release. They've got all kinds of problems. In fact, let me tell you what we're doing here at the ACLJ. We filed a notice with the Customs and Border Protection, Homeland Security, United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and United States Citizen and Immigration Service for information. The request seeks, and I'm reading from it right now, any and all records regarding the Secretary of Homeland Security, his aides, staff, agents, representatives pertaining to the administration's insistence that the present migration surge at the southern border is a challenge and not a crisis.

In other words, what emails determined to use that kind of language? What actions are being taken to protect unaccompanied minors and women from trafficking and exploitation? What actions are being taken to stem and discourage the flow of migrants?

And what actions are being taken to protect Americans from crime, terror, drugs, trafficking, or on border crosses who are on the terror watch list, which we had a few picked up just the other day? They did not respond, Andy, so we are going to court next week. That is correct, and that's what we do when we seek through these Freedom of Information Act requests information that we're entitled to from these government agencies, and you'll notice if you look at the front page of that letter, this is a Washington bureaucratic thing. Every one of them is a Washington-based agency. This is Washington's view of things, but every time they refuse to abide by the requirements of the law to turn those over to us, we turn around and file a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia asking a federal judge to enforce our right, and that is the right of all citizens and all our ACLJ members and the country at large to know exactly what is happening and what went into the mixture and the thoughts of these people in coming up with these policies. That's what we persist. That is called a law fair, and we engage in that litigation to find out exactly what is happening by going to these courts.

All right, let me play for you. I think this is important we set this up. So a Democratic member of Texas, Henry Cuellars, I believe how it's actually, okay, well, now we got two views on how it's pronounced, but whatever. No disrespect to the Congressman, but this is what he said, which is very important. Take a listen. To say that we have everything under control, I'm supportive of President Biden, I'm supportive of his, but we're not paying attention to the borders of communities and this is not under control.

I can tell you that. So now you've got, Harry, the members of Congress, Democrat member of the President's own party, disagreeing with the President publicly saying it's not under control. Absolutely so those Democrats, those honest Democrats are admitting the evidence right before their own eyes.

The border is indeed porous. The administration has engaged in an abdication of responsibility. And now they are attempting to do what? To use climate change as an irresponsible power grab. Notice how a Vice President Kamala Harris tries to distinguish between acute causes and root causes. Their remit from the American people is to do what?

To solve the problem. That's what they need to do. Yeah, so it is Congressman Cuellar, you were right Wes, and he is pointing out the problem here. And he is a member of the President's own party. Yet, no one's recognizing this at the highest levels. The Congressman's recognizing this. He says, I'm a Biden supporter in the quote, but then says, but he's ignoring this. There's a very, very unhealthy and I would say dangerous denial going on in the Biden administration. And again, I think it's for political calculations, which is sad and tragic and unfortunate.

It is incredible in the original root meaning of that word. It lacks credibility, Jay. And Thanh, you're saying that Congressman Cuellar actually is a supporter of the bill, the Cornyn bill, Cornyn-Cinema bill. Explain that bill again. He's one of the two sponsors in the House of Representatives in a bipartisan fashion, by the way, Jay, with Tony Gonzalez. The Cornyn-Cinema bill has a lot of components to it, Jay, but I think there are several in there that you actually could get people to partner with Congressman Cuellar and actually get them into law. For instance, additional authorization for more judges, more enforcement, more processing centers to make sure that this surge is handled quickly. Jay, I think that could happen. I think you could get bipartisan support for improvements to that assertion of determining whether or not credible fear exists for asylum seekers. That is in there, Jay.

I think a lot of these components, and by the way, I think if you're going to move a piece like that, you've got to put the trafficking piece in as well. But there's going to be a lot of hardliners, but Jay, it only takes a handful like Henry Cuellar in the House and then a few in the Senate to move some of these pieces that there ought to be agreement on. There's no question that that is exactly correct.

I have no doubt. Let's go ahead. We're going to take calls.

800-684-3110. Logan, let's go to the phones. Let's go to Daniel.

He's waiting to hold for a while. Daniel, South Dakota line one, you're on the air. Hi, Daniel. Yeah. Hi there.

Thank you for taking my call. Yeah. Your subject today, Harris claims border crisis is actually a climate issue. It is absolutely false.

And I can tell you that because I've spoken to one of my friends in Paraguay and one of my cousins in Brazil, nothing like that came up in our conversation. It's about getting the opportunities here in the US. So the things that they cannot do back in their countries. And so that is something that I wanted to point out. And I got the opportunities since 1986, ever since Mr. Reagan was a President. And I came here with my late parents and I'm enjoying here in this country.

And I would like to see those benefits going to my friend and my cousin. So that's, that's a comment I wanted to make. Listen, we appreciate Daniel. You're calling in. I'm the grandson of immigrants, so I get it too. And I came here legally through the process. What's happening now is not only is the process not being followed because the process is completely broken, but we've got a crisis. So your friends aren't going to get in, even if they were entitled to get in because we got this crisis at the border and it impacts every area of the immigration system. And Andy, when you've got a clog in it, and Pam was just mentioning the increase of judges, but when you don't have enough judges, you don't have enough administrators, you don't have enough people to administer and get it moving, it does impact legitimate immigration, which we need in our country.

It does. We are a country of immigrants that has been said many times. Your family came from Russia.

Mine came from Asia Minor and Greece. We are a country of immigrants, but we are a country of legal immigrants. And they came in through Ellis Island and the proper ports of entry at the beginning of the 20th century. And they did it in an orderly fashion and they love America. And they didn't do it for reasons other than because of their love of opportunity and their hope for the future. But they did it in a fashion that made sense and that was consistent with the law. And that's why they became citizens, not this jamming up at the border, 6,000 every day, throwing children over the walls, coming in with coyotes and mules, spreading drugs. This is unheard of and unacceptable. And to say that climate change or climate adaptation and climate resilience is a reason for the migration, Jay, is ridiculous. When I saw that, I said, I can't believe.

Has this woman never read a history book in her life? Well, here's the problem. And this is something Logan said earlier. They are sticking to a narrative. No matter what the facts are, you got to give them this. No matter what the facts are, no matter the kids are being thrown over a wall, dropped 14 feet, no matter that 6,000 unaccompanied minors came in and we don't know if it was to be put into drug cartels. We don't know that when people are accompanying the minor, whether they're the parent, a relative or a coyote.

We have no idea. You got to give the Biden administration this. They don't change their narrative, Logan. And tell them one story. I mean, when you saw the Today Show clip saying, we got it under control.

And when everyone around you going, no, you don't like not even close. It's breaking records every month. Because again, it fits the narrative to just lie to people and assume the people who they need inevitably will need are just paying attention to those news sources. It's all politics at the end of the day.

Absolutely. It's always all politics. And specifically from this administration, there's no truth when it comes to, there's no defined truth, which is we would all are all okay.

Even the Democrats, the Democrat from Texas tells you exactly what the thing is. Most people are okay with saying, there's a problem going on at the border and we need to figure it out. But we can't get to that step. They can't get to the point of even admitting there's a problem publicly because it looks like bad PR. When we're all willing to admit as Americans, everything is not perfect all the time.

Things are not always progressing in a good way. All right, Teresa, Sandra, and others that are calling in at 800-684-3110, we're coming to the last segment of the broadcast. We're gonna take your calls at 1-800-684-3110. ACLJ.org. All right, everybody. Last segment of the broadcast, we've got phone lines that are a couple open. 1-800-684-3110. Maybe you shouldn't have said. None open right now, but it may. You never know.

You never know. All right, let's go to the phones. Yeah, let's go. Theresa is calling line two in Maryland. You're on the air. Hi, Theresa. Hi.

Thank you very much, guys, for everything. I just want to say it is time for us to fight back and fight back hard. I live in Montgomery County, Maryland. Several years ago, before Biden and his administration and several other things, we had a huge problem in Montgomery County with illegal immigrants. You know, the crime rate went up so high, they had homelessness, a lot of drug problems. We have fought real hard. And I just heard today, I couldn't believe it, but I heard today, they want to send 125 more immigrants to Montgomery County, Maryland. It is time for us to write to our congressmen, our senators, our county councils, whoever.

I'm in Montgomery County. We're hardly open here. And you want to send 127 immigrants to illegal immigrants? You know, you're right. I mean, I was just talking with some friends of mine in Washington, still barely open, not really open. And you don't have the infrastructure to handle this.

But this is what happens, fan, when you don't have control. But Theresa said, call our congressmen, call the senators. We've got two bills we're looking at particularly, three really. You've made this point many times before, Jay, but it's not like the folks that end up here illegally stay by the border. They end up in all of our communities and the legitimate asylum seekers that are seeking slots end up, these people get the slots instead. Jay, I would tell Theresa and the other people listening, start by signing our petition at ACLJ.org. We are using that petition to call for the passage of the bills we've talked about today.

One addresses trafficking, one addresses resources down at the border, one addresses COVID protocols at the border. Jay, if you sign that petition, we will use your name on both the House and the Senate side to try to get some of these moving. Yeah, absolutely.

That's a call to action for everybody that's listening to this broadcast. All right, Logan, next. All right, continuing on. Sandra in Ohio, line four.

You're up. Hi, Sandra. Hi, how are you guys? I just have a comment to make. I listen to your program every day and I really appreciate the way you bring the issues to light. But one comment that I have to make is, I'm a senior citizen, but when are we going to start taking care of our own children? We've got children that are starving to death in the US. We've got children that don't have homes. We've got children that don't have food, that don't have clothes.

We've got senior citizens that can't get medical care. No, you're right. It's a question of priorities, but in this particular case, the border crisis, which does impact every area, Harry, that Sandra just mentioned.

Absolutely. Because it's a strain on resources. And it's far from clear that the politicians in Washington actually care about the kids at the border or the kids that are in Ohio or elsewhere that are struggling. I think this is one of the fundamental problems in the United States. We fail to put our own interests first. Instead, we're putting the interest of globalists first. And one of the best ways of understanding that is to look at Kamala Harris's speech where she elevated a climate change to the source of all evil and the source of all of mankind's problems. We have had sex trafficking in the world for time immemorial. And so the sex traffickers, they're not saying, oh, the climate has changed. Let us go to the United States.

This is unintelligent policy. Let's continue on. Laurie on Line 6. You're on the air, Laurie.

Welcome. Hi, Laurie. Good afternoon, gentlemen. I'm a volunteer at a local human trafficking drop-in center in southeastern Michigan. And I think it's outrageous that this administration, I agree with the colonel that this is a dangerous denial of what's happening because we are seeing such an influx. People in the country need to be aware that it's not just the southern border crisis.

No, it's not. We traffic these victims up through the northern states. And then we're Michigan, so we have, you know, the bridges to Canada. So this is, and it's not just the human trafficking that's the issue because... No, but you make a really important point, Laurie.

And Andy, this is something you and I have focused on in our legal work. And that is that the corridors of the major thoroughfares, that's what you have to look at. You look at I-85, I-95, you look at 20, 10, the ones that go cross-country. Once they get in, they hit the major thoroughfares, then the legal arms of those jurisdictions throughout the country have to get engaged. And by the way, that takes resources too.

That's exactly correct. And social services. And particularly my experience has been the corridor of I-95, which runs along the East Coast from Miami to Maine. And this is a corridor for the exploitation of children, of adults, for the dissemination of drugs, narcotics and dangerous substances. And I-85 as well that goes through Atlanta and so forth. I-75 that goes through Chicago. These are all arteries.

They're like blood vessels and they're used by the traffickers, the coyotes and the mules to disseminate children, adults and drugs throughout the country as they come in the nation, not only from the Southwest, but throughout. And these are the things that the Biden administration is not focusing on at all. Instead, we have this ridiculous statement that climate is a factor in migration, that climate adaptation and whatever climate resilience, whatever that stupid term means, is a factor in migration. It has never been so in history. It is not now. It's absurd.

Wes? I'm a priest, but even taking that aside, as a human being, what human being could look at this and not be moved and say, we've got to fix it. Take national security out of it. Take economics out of it. Take even drug cartels out of it.

Just the sex trafficking alone should move the American people to demand the administration stop this. All right, let's try to get another call in. Okay, let's go to Annie in New York on line three. Welcome. Hi, Annie. Hi. Hi.

This is the first time I've heard your program and I'm glad I found you. Great. The Biden administration, to me, my opinion, nuts. The border control and the southern border.

Yep. I believe President Trump had a handle on it. Not everything was perfect, but he had a handle on it. And he was following through with a lot of what he promised. You know, it's interesting that you say that because President Biden had said that he was going to formally raise the national cap on refugee admissions to 62,500. Then he came back and said, but they had said that because of the situation, that Trump's cap of 15,000 refugees this year remains justified, this is the Biden administration, by humanitarian concerns and is otherwise in the national interest. So Biden indicated he was to keep it. Then the left went crazy. And of course they raised it. So yes, it's playing politics with the border. That is, to me, the biggest concern that we have.

But I quickly want to go back to Thanh because I want to offer hope here. And that is the pieces of legislation, what do the American people need to do to get this moving? We've got a petition, I'm sure, up on this issue.

What should we be doing? Well, they should sign that petition. They should also talk to their member of Congress, both the House and the Senate. Jay, I really do think the very first piece should be that bill by Senator Blackburn that simply says, if a child comes to the border trying to enter the United States, we're going to make sure that child is with a family member, not a trafficker or a smuggler. Jay, there shouldn't be a member of Congress that opposes that bill.

No, I think you're 100% correct. I mean, I'm going to go quickly to Harry here. We're running out of time. But Harry, that's a simple policy that should just be easy to put in place. Absolutely.

And there is so much low hanging fruit out there. And I hope the Biden administration starts to grab some of it. We've got about 75,000 signatures on that petition.

It needs to be in the hundreds of thousands folks to get attention. We're working it. We need your help. Go to ACLJ.org, sign that petition. Very important that you do that. We'll be back with you tomorrow.

Again, we're talking to you today. For decades now, the ACLJ has been on the front lines protecting your freedoms, defending your rights in courts, in Congress and in the public arena.
