Blessings to Israel presents Discerning the Times, a program committed to encouraging you to view current events through the lens of the Bible. Now, in honor of the one and only true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, please join us for today's program. Welcome to Discerning the Times.

It is a blessing to be with you once again this week. We are going to continue a discussion that we began last week concerning the black church and things that the black church is supporting politically. We are going through a series of clips that was presented by April Chapman, the host of the Standard of the Truth podcast in which she is addressing the endorsement of Kamala Harris by Bishop J.

Drew Sheard and the rebuke that followed by Pastor Donnie Swaggart. If you missed us last week, please go to our YouTube channel, Discerning the Times, and just look for last week's episode and that will get you up to speed with where we are in the discussion. So I want to pick up right where we left off, but before I do, I must remind you that your eternal state is far more important than your current state. If you've never received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, I urge you to do so today.

Otherwise, if you leave this out of life without having received him, you will spend eternity in the lake of fire separated from God. So will you please give your heart to Jesus Christ on today? All right, so as I said last week, I typically pull clips from sermons or news sources. I rarely do so from podcasts, but when I listen to what April Chapman had to say on this issue, it was so thorough and so rich, so edifying that I had to share it with our audience.

And typically I pull one or two clips, but it was again, so good that I really could not settle on a couple. So I'm sharing multiple clips of her commentary on what was said by Pastor Donnie Swaggart and what some responses have been from others out there concerning what he had to say. But again, we are addressing things that the black church is standing for. And Pastor Swaggart is asking the question, why won't the black church stand for righteousness? And again, April Chapman is addressing it as well. So let's pick up where we left off last week where she is discussing policy versus the word of God.

Oh yes. When he said, oh, I'm stepping on your toes, he was stepping on their toes. And that's why they have an attitude about it. But all we have to do, let's just see, well, is his assessment and assertions correct, right? All we got to do is examine everything that Kamala Harris supports policy wise, right?

And let's make it clear. We're talking about the policies. We ain't talking about her goofy cackling and whether we like her or not.

That's not what we're talking about. We're talking about what is the policy platform that undergirds the candidacy of Kamala Harris. And when you examine that everything that she supports policy wise, it's against the word of God. And my question is, how do you say that you are with her without violating your Christian conviction and everything that goes against what God says that he hates?

How do you do it? Like what does God hate? I can tell you one thing, he hates sin. God hates sin.

God hates sin and every kind of evil. Yeah. As she said, you can't do it. You cannot say that you are a follower of God and his word and then you go and support things politically that are in contradiction to his word. You can't do it. You cannot reconcile those things.

And I've had this discussion with numerous people over the years who profess to be Christians, several were even pastors, preachers, and I even challenged some, I said, well, let's, let's get the Bible and let's sit down together and I will make my case based on scripture and you make your case based on scripture. And none have taken me up on that offer. And the reason is because they can't do it. The scriptures do not support the supporting of the things that are outlined in the democratic parties policies. Those policies are in direct opposition to God's word. If you just look at the platform, go and look it up.

You can, you can find their, their platform is online. If you just go and look line by line, you will see how so many things that are mentioned there, pretty much everything goes against the word of God. And I'm glad that she stressed. We're talking about policy, policy over personality, because a lot of people are caught up in personality. I even saw the other day where there was a man out on the street and he was interviewing people and he asked this, this black woman, he said, well, is Donald Trump, Donald Trump a fascist? And she said, yes, of course he is. And then he said, what is a fascist?

And it was crickets because she didn't even know what a fascist was. She said, I really don't know. She's just going by rhetoric going by what the media says. Another woman, she was a diehard Kamala Harris supporter. He asked her, he said, well, what is your, your favorite policy that she has?

And the woman could not name one. She didn't know of a policy because most people are basing things on identity. They're basing things on tribalism.

They're, they're basing things on things that are not based on policy. And so that is what we must keep our minds focused on, but let's continue listening to April, as she's talking about the things that God hates and how many of those things are within the policy platform of the democratic party. Proverbs six, 16 through 19. These, there are six things that the Lord hates. Seven are, are an abomination to him.

So let's go ahead and just, just go through them. Hearty eyes, a lion tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies and one who sows discord among brothers. So y'all let's just start with the haughty eyes, right? Let's start with the haughty eyes.

And we hear these terms. That's actually, I don't know if that's a King James term, but you don't really hear the word haughty used in English vernacular today, but a haughty eyes, biblically, I want to go ahead and just tell you the, the, the sentiment behind what the Bible is saying when it uses haughty eyes. Haughty eyes, it is a phrase used in scripture that signifies an attitude of arrogant pride, right? An attitude of arrogant pride.

So it's basically, it's when you, when you believe that, you know, you have some sort of a superiority over someone else, or you have this self exaltation above others, um, haughty eyes is, this is an arrogant pride. And this exaltation that April is talking about, and she's going to go more into it that we'll, we'll hear from shortly, but what she's talking about is what we see happening in a lot of the black church, because there is an exaltation of blackness. You see it throughout. And I have sat in numerous churches where that type of thing was going on. Again, racist hate speech that was tearing down the white man and elevating the black man.

I saw it and witnessed it with my own eyes and ears. And it is not of God. Proverbs chapter six speaks against this type of behavior. And when we look at Proverbs chapter six, verse 17, we see where it addresses the things that are celebrated in our culture and the things that are celebrated in the democratic party.

We have what a pride month. The Bible talks about God hating pride. We have abortion, every commercial just about that is on right now during this political season, or that has been on the past several months during this political season is the endorsement of killing unborn babies. And folks we see right here in the scripture, it says, God hates the shedding of innocent blood. And yet, as we've been talking about, there are so many in the black church that are endorsing that are supporting that are putting these people in office that have made it clear that these are the type of policies that they are going to legislate in favor of.

And it is not of God. Now, I know the naysayers out there when they hear April talking about this haughtiness and the pride. They say, what about Donald Trump? And I agree if you're saying that, as Donald Trump has an issue with pride, Donald Trump is a very boastful man.

And I don't condone any of that. But the thing that we're talking about here again is policy. If Donald Trump starts trying to legislate pride, pridefulness and arrogance into policy, then we're going to have a major issue.

But what we see again with the Democratic Party is those things are being legislated into policy. And we see again, this this pride, this haughtiness that is so pervasive in the black church where again, blacks are elevated. And folks, we are supposed to be one in Christ. We're not supposed to be elevating our ethnic group above another.

That is not supposed to happen. And I know some people out there will say, well, what about the things that happened back in the day with slavery and white supremacy and all those kind of things? Well, folks, two wrongs don't make it right. We have to forgive.

And that is one of the major problems. There's so much unforgiveness within people within the black church. But we have to forgive and we have to give it to God. And we should be thankful and look at where God has brought us from. Look at all the ways we are blessed in this nation, despite despite the way we came here in slavery. Look at the ways that we are blessed and be thankful and grateful for that. Don't hold on and harbor things that happen to our ancestors, because the fact of the matter is the majority of us have never even faced any type of racism against us at the hands of whites. But, you know, we can't harbor those type of things.

But let's continue to listen to April as she goes further and she addresses what we see again in the black church, black liberation theology. It describes this way that you look at others. Right.

And it reflects this sense of disdain. Right. Or conceit or a sense of being above or better than others. So when I think of haughty eyes, no shade, I think of black pride. Right. I think of black girl magic. Right. I think black excellence.

You have all these colloquialisms that we black folks, we love the youth. And I know, I know you're not used to hearing haughtiness applied to ethnic idolatry, but it applies. It absolutely applies. Because scripture mentions an attitude of haughtiness as something that God detests because it directly opposes the humility that he values.

Yes. God values humility, not haughtiness. And so haughtiness in and of itself, it stems from this prideful heart. Right. When a person places themselves above others. Right. God always has this way of providentially causing such a person. They going to leap headfirst down into their own destruction, their own downfall. We've seen it happen all throughout scripture, but in biblical terms, pride is often linked with rebellion against God.

Why? Because it puts self above the creator. And so wherever you see haughty eyes, pride is right there to follow.

Right. So biblically speaking haughty eyes symbolize a prideful and an arrogant outlook and it holds others in contempt. And the whole idea of haughty eyes comes from this desire to exalt oneself above others. And then it ultimately rejects God's rightful authority. God is the creator of everyone and everything. He reigns supreme.

He is sovereign. We're just mere clay, like creatures that are subject to him. And the idea is that you can place yourself in any sort of supremacist sense above someone else flies in the face of the God, the way God designed humans to relate to one another. And more importantly than that, it flies in the face of the gospel. Cause let's be clear apart from Christ, all of us are trash.

We just filled their wretched centers in desperate need of a savior. And so what I did is you can have some sort of ethnic pride over someone else. It's just silly. This is why pride is warned against all throughout scripture because pride, arrogance, being haughty and boastful, it blinds people to their, their need for God, right? It causes harm to relationships as we are about to see and others, because if the people who has smoke for Donnie are supposed to be believers, and if Donnie is a believer, and if a believer is telling another believer something that's empirically true, the haughtiness and boastful attitude from those who are responding negatively against him, it is causing division in the body, harming relationships. This is why black liberation theology is so wicked and destructive. The idea, first of all, the idea that you actually need a black liberation theology is anti-Christ. It's anti-Christ because it is Christ alone who provides us freedom, not your blackness. Black liberation theology, it is divisive. It's unbiblical and it's demonic.

Why? Because it teaches false converts to boast in their ethnicity and then to view God's plan of redemption through the eyes of ethnicity. When the gospel of Christ is actually the opposite of that. Literally all of us were wild branches cut off from any sort of relationship with God, had it not been for the blood of Christ. We are grafted in through the spirit of adoption. You can't hold to black liberation theology and then believe Galatians 3 28 at the same time.

Sorry, can't do it. No, God doesn't, God doesn't esteem pride of any kind, but rather he values humility. He values brokenness and contrition and utter dependence on him. So haughty eyes are the opposite of the reverence and humility and love that God desires. Well folks, for those of you who are not familiar with April, I think you can see now why I want to share her words, her commentary, because his sister just speaks the truth and she, she does it in a way in which very few pastors speak truth in the boldness as she does. And so if you're not familiar with her, again, the standard of the truth podcast, go out there, find her on YouTube. You will be blessed by it.

But again, April is exactly right. God desires humbleness. And that's one of the things that I strive for. Have a humble spirit. That is what I want within me.

Have him put and keep a humble spirit within my heart. I don't want to be prideful because again, the Bible says, God hates pride is very clear. We know that, um, it was pride. They call Satan to, to rebel and to fall, but there is so much pride within our society, within the black ethnic group. And we see within the black church, you know, we have B E T you have essence awards.

And if you've ever watched any of these things, and I very rarely watch any of that stuff, but I see clips here and there, and all you see is the elevation and the promotion of blackness. That's all you see putting, putting blacks above other people saying blacks are better at this and better at that. And, um, that is not of God and what we see from the media, the media is always spewing white supremacy.

That is the, the greatest danger to society. They say, but folks, the truth of the matter is there's a lot of black supremacy in our nation and it's in the black church. There is a lot of hate and there is a lot of unforgiveness that is in the hearts of many within the black church. Because when I talk about these issues, I hear people start talking about things that happened where they were seeking, seeking dogs on, on blacks back in the day and, and the water hoses and all those kinds of things. And again, folks, that stuff was wrong.

It breaks my heart that any human being went through that type of abuse, that kind of persecution, whether they are black, white, Hispanic, whatever is wrong. But again, we have to forgive. We can't hold onto that stuff. We can't harbor unforgiveness in our hearts because it is eating us away.

And that is what Satan wants. He wants hatred and division, but the leftist, they feed the beast because they know that there's a sore spot that was there from our ancestry, things that happened that were not right, that we are, I readily, I'll be the first to say those things were not right. That there was racist acts committed against blacks because of the color of their skin at the hands of whites. That stuff happened in our nation's history. But again, we have to forgive.

We have to move on and we have to let God be the judge. Let God avenge because God said to love your enemies, not hate them. But the leftist, they, they feed on that history. They feed the beast because what we always see is things in the headlines like white cop shoots unarmed black man, and that gets black stirred up.

They know that that's going to get people stirred up. And what we often find out is once the facts come out, the, the, the, the, the story really wasn't what the narrative was, but see, they've already done their damage at that point. But the Bible says in Proverbs 6 19, a false witness who speaks lies and anyone who sows discord among the brethren, that is one of the things that God hates. And yet you see that being done throughout the media, throughout the democratic party and black liberation theology, it teaches to hate whites. And we saw that with Jeremiah Wright, the former pastor of Barack Obama.

But let me get back. Let me get back to Proverbs six. Cause in Proverbs six, there's this long list of things that God hates.

And what I'm doing is I'm trying to tie this in to the fact that Donnie asked a very valid question. Why is it that individuals in the black church are supporting everything that God hates, which is I eat the party of the Democrats, the whole party party policy platform. If you go line by line, you're like, God hates all of this. Why, why are you supporting this? You're supporting the party.

And then the candidate is like, it's a valid question. We talked about God hates haughty eyes, right? The other thing it's something that I've realized that God hates that I've ascertained from scripture. God hates injustice.

Now these are the pro black knee plagues. They love talking about social justice. Now we talk about actual biblical justice. God hates injustice, especially towards the vulnerable. So what I want to do, I want to read to you from the book of Isaiah, Isaiah chapter 61.

So let me get there real quick. Um, Isaiah 61 verse eight says for the, for I, the Lord, this is the prophet Isaiah speaking, um, prophetically on behalf of God for I, the Lord love justice. I hate robbery and wrong taxation and stuff. But anyway, I will faithfully give them their recompense and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. I only read that just to give some context to the fact we're going through things that God hates and things that he loves. He loves justice, but he hates robbery and wrong. So the opposite of justice is injustice, right? We absolutely serve a God who hates injustice.

No one is ever arguing that. The question is who defines justice, right? Like who sets the standard for what is just, I would say the God of the Bible, since he's a righteous judge, he might have a little bit of something to say to teach us how do we can determine justice from injustice, right? And, and, and the scriptures can actually adjudicate justice from social justice, right? Cause the question is, is it these wicked fake, you know, outrage, social justicians and the iron triangle preachers and the politicians and the civil rights workers, or is it the God of the Bible who determines what is justice? Is God a champion of social justice or has he provided us with a framework for biblical justice? It's a valid question. I would argue that biblically speaking, God is absolutely a God of justice, especially when it harms the vulnerable, it opposes his nature and his desire for fair treatment of all peoples.

All right. So God's justice does not look like man's justice. God says, forgive and let him avenge, but the left says, no, you get even. And that's why we have this, this, this narrative is taken from the white man and, and given to the black. We have this narrative of reparations. We have this critical race theory that is being pushed. Those things are not of God.

One last clip from April and we'll wrap things up for this week. Here's one of the other questions, one of the other questions that I wanted to ask, and I understand the energy and the bravado that the apostate black church people are feeling because you know, this man said what he said. But my question is, why do you care that his skin is white? Right?

Why do you care that his skin is white? Yes, I said it. Is truth objective and knowable or no?

I'm waiting. Is truth objective and knowable or no? Is God's word infallible and inerrant or no? If, if, if God says that he hates hands that shed innocent blood, was he joking or are we to take his words very, very seriously? This is a legitimate question that I'm asking because there are other things that God has mentioned that he hates, but see, you have to understand the black church as the social construct. As I talk about it, so many of those pastors will, first of all, if, if they're a part of the social construct of the black church, many of them have long since disavowed God's word as the final authority. They've all long since disavowed God's word is being infallible and inerrant. And that's one of the first things that they do when they start hitching their wagon to this black liberation theology, they start questioning the authority of the scriptures, right? They start wheezing and messing with the interpretation, with this real liberal progressive interpretation where you start getting people saying, well, you know, I mean, according to Leviticus homosexuality wasn't right, but you know, ain't nothing in the New Testament to say, you know, man can't marry a woman, a woman.

That's what they do. That's what the black church, the apostate black church is the social construct that I'm talking about. That's the type of questioning that they do to the authority of scripture. They don't hold it as the final authority.

It's real relative, right? I was watching, if y'all remember the video that I did a couple of, I don't, was it a couple of months ago and with the Morehouse college, uh, chapel service, the Dean over there at Morehouse subscribes to black liberation theology. That man don't believe the Bible is the word of God. These people don't even believe Jesus is God. They don't believe the Bible period. So when a pastor who happens to have white skin ask a simple question like, why are you siding with the party that is anti God? First, you'd actually have to know what the party believes and you'd actually be able to have to compare what the party says.

This is our policy platform. And then you'd actually have to know, well, what do the scriptures teach about these things? But if you go to one of these black liberation theology churches, they don't believe the Bible, nor is the Bible their final authority for faith and practice. So you might be confused and be all up in your feelings about what the white man said, cause you don't know the word of God and it hasn't been brought down in your heart.

That's the problem. That is, that is, that is reason number numero uno on top of the fact of the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the melanated, uh, ethnic idolatry and that's in their heart. They don't know the scriptures, right? They just believe whatever they apostate, pimp preacher preaches from the pulpit. And so when someone actually says something that is emphatically true, the Holy Spirit's not on the inside of them to be like, you know what? Ooh, that is tight, but it's right.

It hurts, but make it work. They don't know what to do with that. April is right because it should not matter what color swagger skin is. Truth is truth. And I applaud the man and I've been saying the same thing for 15 years. Why is it that the black church will not stand for righteousness? And it's when I began researching things, when the Holy Spirit opened my eyes, I began to see that I could no longer stay in the democratic party.

And I made that decision more than 15 years ago. And I am voting the Bible. I am staying with God, but there are many people out there that they can't even recite.

They don't even know what's in the party's platform. And so folks, I encourage you get educated. The Bible says the people perish for lack of knowledge, and it's just time for the black church to stand for righteousness. You cannot continue to harbor these, these feelings from the past and hold onto the thing, these things and, and just admit that you are siding with unrighteousness and repent. Let me share with you before I close what Jesus said to the church at Ephesus, the loveless church in Revelation two, four through five.

Nevertheless, I have this against you that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen, repent and do the first works or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place unless you repent. That is a message for the black church today.

We need to repent and return to the first love. And in Matthew chapter seven, Jesus said, not everyone that says to me, Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom of heaven. And people are going to say, did we not do these things in your name? And Jesus is going to say, depart from me.

I never knew you. Those of you who practice lawlessness, the black church needs to repent and stand for righteousness. So folks, that's going to do it for this week. I want to thank you for tuning in. Please come back and join us next time as we continue to discern the times by viewing life through the lens of the Bible. Until then, remember to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Bless God's great nation of Israel until the only wise God be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen. Thank you for tuning into deserting the times. Please come back and join us next week as we continue to encourage you to view current events through the lens of the Bible. Until next time, remember to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Bless God's great nation of Israel and seek first the kingdom of God.
