Welcome to Crossroads connection is the show all about having conversations running life ministries and culture is a quick think you are friends of the Truth Network for airing this program and thank you for taking time out of your busy day to listen to our show today. I'm Tyler and I'm joined by Jamie. Jamie is good to see you yeah and here as well. Andy doing good, doing well, yes, very nice. I guess I'm doing well as of the right word. I was set up by just I just love the just yeah yes I'm doing well, and the seller said thank you for everybody who are listen right now with feta a great year of this were coming up upon the official one year mark of crosses connection. We are putting things in uploading and downloading stuff to will report all our episodes in the sky need to run through and see all the different programs we had.

We've had incredible guests on last year so I encourage you if you listen right now. Every listening from just jump on and you can go back and listen to literally any episode from this last year and of course you can download crosses connection podcast as well. Yet do that do that for sure subscribe to it like a comment on it shared and I think you'll find it encouraging because you know Azam you will hear my office and I'm looking at my marker board over here and we have our vision of our church for 2021 and is reaching was catching my eye is weak, use the concentric circles out of Matthew 28 you go to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria ends of the earth and put our ZIP Code in our community and our church in Jerusalem and Raleigh as Judea and you know North Carolina unites it. The Samaritan horse is the earth and what I love about will be able to do this last year is is really dial in to our own city.

I love that I love that we could see you CareFirst city. In fact, for crosses fellowship by we have a city reaching grant program that we do through our church will be give money directly back to the city and we had our eye we meet three times a year to approve grandson Goodman to the city and this last week we had ours and we just crossed the $4 million market. We give back to the yeah in the last summary and it's been several years but now Tony is to give three and 50,000 away a year to the city and so basically just in the last 10 years we've given $4 million just to Raleigh is also some English the most. These partners ever talking to you on the program, which is why love talking about this, thing, and today's guest is is just like their other ones that the she's awesome yeah I'm talking Sheila Teague today and Sheila T is in the adoption social worker and specifically with amazing grace adoption and orphan Karen and I think we thought this is good timing because we just earlier this month, celebrated the sanctity of life Sunday and I think it's so important for people to know one that that that there's alternatives and there's options you know that the that abortion is not your only option. And I love that there's agencies like this and people like Sheila and others who are really trying to truly help people navigate through a difficult time. Yeah, absolutely. So I can't wait. Let's jump into it when I listen to a quick word from our sponsor and then will hear an interview with Sheila Teague. Perhaps you've asked yourself this question.

Are you running the business as a business running you. How might your teams grow. If your teams are driving the business forward.

Instead of you.

You are sitting on a wealth of untapped opportunity. It takes courage to learn how to create a culture where your people are truly empowered on their seats, my name Cheryl Scanlon business and executive coach working together will go straight to your court challenges to sort through competing demands and realigned to your highest priorities for measurable results visiting three at sea number three all right will welcome back from the break we are here with our very special guest Sheila Teague who is an adoption social worker with amazing grace adoption and orphan care, Sheila and your family the Teague family. Some of the best people we know on the face of the planet were so grateful that you're with us here on the episode. How are you doing Sheila absent 1%. You know it's very near thing to my heart and my wife and in our churches as well. You know that thing at such a beautiful thing to me how much better of a minister than the do what Jesus said to do and that is the take care of orphans and one another. So we love the ministries before we jump into the ministry of amazing Grace Sheila want to talk a little about you and and how you ended up at amazing grace angry she can probably New England accent. There are probably aware that also. I we went on to grad school work that that's right that he's been on this program as well. Sharon is hard for sports mission.

What a great ministry cross locking and helping launch continuing to work straight for so when working with adoption of the wrong way we were married for short.

For a while mom married daughter and college account is it is a don't college are still in college done here she's a senior you are almost done here was gone.

Boy yeah yeah me again how did you end up at amazing grace adoption South Carolina with four smart grace and multi-just all there so there wait for my excellent so what is it Sheila about's adoption know you mentioned a few times, got holier hardened. So what is it about the adoption and orphan care that really truly a grips holier hardened will and sure I early long when I was working with crazy situation and I was just like other chapter 24 starting being led away all that is staggering for water but we way he guards her life will repay each person according answer involves adoption my life and there are greater some people are so many people have been involved in abortion abortion like I'm anyway he offers that you know you're totally fine job Scripture John three says that God did not to condemn the world, but our economy will you people that they need forgiveness and healing, and if we are waiting absolutely terrible spoken Sheila and you know I think side of that which is what I love about agencies like amazing Grace and all the other ones is that what you're saying is that there's an alternative to abortion so sure if people have had an abortion.

We want them to feel the grace and the mercy and the love of God that can heal dad and redeem that but on the other side of people who are struggling with their pregnancy or with their children to know you know there is there are other options and which is so wonderful to remind people that there place like amazing Grace and countless others that really truly can help and step in and guide a good biblical way. So let's turn the corner little bit to amazing Grace, what are amazing grace all about. So talk to Sloop about the organization you are working and vulnerable children and adopted family and internationally called model solicited this way.

Let wonderful mission statement so give us the how behind that. So what are a few ways that amazing Grace actually fulfills that mission statement. Not much involved in working here in Uganda we but now we just jot but we serve amazing grace, built grace, which are not just how love and care for part of the family with white couple on the smaller smaller and we purchase land and build on that.

We partnered with pastoring to sora Uganda Torres are pastors. The company train on land adoption as part of the curriculum that their learning because children and getting electric and water tower of John and he has done a great job.

Let's talk about the other side of the adoption sonů On yeah well about walking with women and families that are choosing life for their child support is an honor and greatest respect for women.

You walk through pregnancy and she is life for their baby. As far as adoption because you probably adoption triad of the triangle child is at the top of our family is in one corner any doubt in the other seven grace we want the best interest of the child where the child about the birth family and trying to minister to all.

In this situation. Mission statement is the care and its know our families been doing foster care. So we got to see a little piece of the we are doing the interim foster care for quite a while to where you know baby will go to our house during that week to 10 days are beyond during that time of transition and while to see organizations really care for not just the adoptive parent side or the future home but some of the most hard work is the birth parents on the birth mom side and so to come alongside of them is such a wonderful way of looking at the entire ministry or you're missing everybody in, and there's a great organization there in the middle so sorry about your your particular role. So as a adoption social worker. What exactly does that mean for people like Tyler who has no idea what that means is that what is that mean sure revocation.

You all and I appreciate you so strong was not my goal will thank you for that. It's it's a you know, just like you it's it's that it's that we gotta try to do a Port Huron and try to help in whatever part God wants us to play in the support we gotta play because he lives at stake and not just not just babies but there's birth mom's and future hit future families and extended families and all that so appreciate that.

Thank you a lot. You know I'm that's right, no matter how will I know that I know about your history. Everything yeah all the coolest people on side as well. Most families are people that you will ever meet.

Making people I could tell you stories about the following children internationally like children that are quite internationally placement supervision. We follow and make sure that the child's developing catching doing all the things that I need to do something that I do know which I think maybe in your little bit more familiar with the work you all have been there so much ministry there not only supportive care plan but also just need I recently bought a mattress for someone because she would and very difficult for a lot of thing about it is there's a lot more shame or the right word with option abortion and work through all permissions and she praying talking.

She wants to have an adoption plan for her child and she got to deliver members that will give their opinion about what she's doing and just really takes a lot of courage to make an adoption absolutes. You mentioned a little bit go there.

I know you have to be a little careful and confidential but you been at this for quite a while as their story or two that really stand out to you that you can share without sharing the details but just to share a couple testimonies about very vague terms, but one family adopted internationally more than one biological children and more than one biological child. They were not going to need their own. They felt that they had the capacity to care for more children called on the Lord and said they went through an auction is hard enough national adoption! I mean it a lot paperwork. It's a lot of much hope you have anyway. Family internationally.

They had not been three specialty special needs children. This one particular child adopted from country when they brought this child was it was I think it would be on the theory seven things that they with this child but they patiently love this child through time to transition time they work so hard on that helped with language. They help with school. They work so hard and this child writing you know that there was a special need for recently the adoptive mom called me and told me that he recently was baptized and wants to be a missionary to the.also as a right. So Sheila comes to amazing Grace, what are opportunities and/or needs that the organization has that you know people are loose. I know you know if they're not passionate about this, they probably are loose with more now than before the program aired and so for people are loosing that are wondering well I want to get involved in that organization or to some degree what what and how can people get plugged into amazing grace well mission organization, prayer, and really your prayer, especially in the day that were living right now just the prayer covering protection that God would give us wisdom that he would protect these children that they would be counting the cries that you would be there for prayer and then if you are able to get someone is able to get financially great or you know trying to walk you give them. There are times for volunteers. You are great at putting together a fundraising like something you like to like to volunteer or that take special deal paperwork are very detailed.

Sometimes that we can give them something that not that far social worker is excellent and guess what our time is just about up. It's amazing how fast time goes social as we wrap up our time together. Can you give us a great contact to get a hold of amazing Grace. Sure, when a G adoption and our number is 919-301-8642 and we also would be listening from Florida. We also have Florida office telephone number is 239631679. Excellent, thank you so much for all the work you do. This is a very special ministry as you said, it's close to the heart of God to do this and thank you and your family for sacrificing the way you do to to do this and lead through very very hard times and dealing with very sensitive information very sensitive situations as well.

So we appreciate you and all that amazing Grace has to offer. So you listen right now we are with Sheila Teague, the one of the adoption social order for amazing grace adoption and orphan care if you listen to Fenimore permission to hold them, and please be sure you reach out things about Sheila.
