Well, so we were going to have a pastor's meeting on Saturday, but due to security concerns and threats, we have postponed the meeting. We were going to do it on Saturday evening. And our intelligence told us, our thought process, but also Intel on the ground there said, not a good idea.

Traveling in the evening or after dark is just too dangerous at this point. Yeah, so we have revisited that and we will be having a meeting this next weekend on their Saturday morning, my very late Friday night, which you do what you need to do. So we'll be doing that. Also got a message over the weekend from someone.

need to understand what was in there this this you know that this is why uh chip roy and and and a group in congress were voting no and voting against this folks 87,000 new irs agents i don't you know everybody says oh well yeah but you know we'll we'll get back control of the house and then we'll you know we'll we'll we'll pull those funds or repeal it or undo let me tell you something government doesn't undo anything that it does okay other than other than presidents play volleyball with executive orders that's it other than presidents playing volleyball with executive orders rick am i am i misstating that otherwise congress look we waited for obamacare to be repealed it never happened we waited for a border wall to be built four years the first two years we had majorities in the house and in the senate president trump ran on building a border wall and securing the border and the house and the senate paul ryan and mitch mcconnell killed every effort yep to try to fund the wall yeah we finally had to shut down the government over it to try to get it done and by the way when they talk about shutting down the government people please understand it's the congress congress actually only appropriates about between 30 and 33 percent of the total spending by the government congress doesn't appropriate social security they don't appropriate veterans benefits they don't appropriate food stamps they don't appropriate medicare they don't appropriate most of the 70 over 70 75 spending okay so well 70 spending so what we're really talking about is about 17 of the total budget when they when you take defense out of it which is through the national defense authorization act is typically already funded um you have about 17 of the government that is shut down um and that's your and so when you talk about this we're really talking about a relatively insignificant portion of the government but it's the part that touches you directly through the irs through the regulatory process it's the part of the budget where you can actually fight win um and try to get some stuff done to rein in it's using the power of the purse um which which con which the constitutional convention rightfully rightfully gave to congress the people who were directly elected by the people at least in the house and it's a and so that is there why the power of the purse exists with the people's house house first and so to have a fight about 17 of the budget how it should be spent and whether or not we should rein in joe biden's out of control um government overreaches and say no you can't do that that's an abrogation of the responsibility of congress and for those republicans who don't want to have those fights i say you know you have you're missing the point we're going to have now we're going to have the the government funded short term until december 16th they're doing exactly what i warned they would um so they're putting it right before christmas so we can't have a government shutdown over christmas here's the good news if we have a fight on december 16th and we deny the mitch mcconnell 60 votes in the senate you know that means we need 41 republicans to say no we will not fund the government at this level without massive changes without real change if we do that we deny him the votes then something's going to happen we'll end up in just about 20 days you will have republicans take control if they win control of the house and the senate in uh in the uh elections upcoming all right the republicans to do the do the choosing all right we're out of time rick manning must be monday uh well so uh i'm i'm got a lot that i want to share with you in this uh in this period here and uh we'll see how much of it i can uh i can get through um i don't know if you're familiar with George Whitfield but George Whitfield preached some great sermons about our nation and in fact was in invited in 1770 1770 think about that 1770 to preach before the governor and the council and the house of assembly in Georgia and in this speech that he gives in in his conversation that he gives he talks about the significant importance of christianity to the founding of the nation uh let's see but shall this hinder the progress the growth of the consummation and shall the christian therefore be dismayed and discouraged god forbid on the contrary the weakest believer may and ought to rejoice and be exceedingly bad and why for a very good reason because he that hath begun the good work hath engaged also to finish it though christ found him as black as hell he shall present him and every individual purchased with his blood without spot or wrinkle or any such thing before the divine presence oh glorious prospect how will the saints triumph and the sons of god then shout for joy if they shouted when god said let there be light and there was light and if there is joy in heaven over one sinner only that repenteth how will the heavenly arches echo and rebound with praise when all the redeemed of the lord of the lord shall appear together and the son of god shall say of all these that thou hast given to me have i lost nothing on the contrary what weeping wailing and gnashing of teeth where there be not only amongst the devil and his angels but amongst the fearful and unbelieving when they see that all the hellish temptations and devices instead of destroying were overruled to the furtherance of the gospel in general and to the increase in growth of grace and every individual believer in particular and how will despisers then behold and wonder and perish when they shall be obliged to say we fools counted their lives madness and their end to be without honor but how are they numbered among the children of god and how happy is their lot among the saints this was preached in a house of congress in a house of congress how amazing is that and how far have we come wherein we don't have this firm foundation and he talks about the importance of the maintenance of that foundation and he talks about how how critical it is that that the members and he was invited by all of congress to be involved now there's there's some further historical readings that i think are applicable to the time that we are in and to understanding our role as it relates to pushing back against evil and darkness and and where where that rests with us uh you may be familiar with the mayflower compact and i'll get into that here in just a minute but this is uh something that is it says uh well this is from americanvision.org gary dimar on january 18th 2021 he writes i suspected if the scofield reference bible had been around in the 17th century there never would have been a westward migration of christians to build what has become known as a city on a hill the 105 colonists and seamen carried the geneva bible with them before finding what would be their permanent settlement reverend robert hunt 1568 to 1608 40 years offered the following prayer on april 29th 1607 at cape henry now virginia beach virginia we do hereby dedicate this land and ourselves to reach the people within these shores with the gospel of jesus christ and to raise up godly generations after us and with these generations take the kingdom of god to all the earth may this covenant of dedication remain to all generations as long as this earth remains and may this land along with england be an evangelist to the world may all who see this cross remember what we have done here and may those who come here to inhabit join us in this covenant and in this most noble work that the holy scriptures may be fulfilled wow think about what he just prayed and declared over this land and their purpose in coming to this land the mayflower compact takes that and and speaks upon it too but there's there's a psalm in here that is that is referenced that i think is significant all the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the lord and all the families of the nations shall worship before you for kingship belongs to the lord and he rules over the nations i've said a number of times on this program that the very first person the very first who called nations into existence who speaks of nations is god god is the former of nations the creator of nations and he says so here his kingship belonged the for kingship belongs to the lord and he rules over the nations he's also the one who rules over kings if they submit to him and and so in uh again in in these concepts come directly from the geneva bible uh geneva provided much of the genius and inspiration which carried those courageous and faithful souls through their trials and provided the spiritual intellectual and legal basis for establishment and flourishing of the colonies thus it became the foundation for establishment of the american nation again a quote from 1607 considerable literature was put out numerous sermons were preached in london in the interest of the colony of virginia and much of this at least practically all in fact that we've been able to examine was provided by men who use the geneva bible presumably puritans the good speed to virginia written by robert gray in the interest of the enterprise was published in london in 1609 and he quotes from the geneva bible several sermons were preached from the virginia company in london for which service they chose freely if not uniformly puritans perhaps the first such sermon was delivered at white chapel on april 25th 1609 by the reverend william simons the minister of saint saviors and south work he used the geneva bible as his scripture quotations proof what was uniformly true in virginia in 60 1607 was equally true of the Plymouth colony in 1620 like the earlier genea uh jamestown settlers the pilgrims who had first gone to the netherlands for refuge came to the new world with the geneva bible in hand the mayflower complex undertook the voyage for the glory of god and the advancement of the christian faith the message here is is what is what is the overall purpose and then how do we tie that into understanding what it is that we're trying to accomplish are we are we creating a i don't know what they call a theocracy what we're doing is is we're saying america is a light to the world and always has been it was founded it was created that way founded that way in the 1600s not not not the craziness that was associated or is associated with all of this other stuff but but the reality of who these individuals were who the puritans really were the lord will be our god and delight to dwell among us as his own people and will command a blessing upon us in all our ways so that we shall see much more of his wisdom power goodness and truth then formerly we formerly we will we have been acquainted with we shall find that the god of israel is among us when 10 of us shall be able to resist a thousand of our enemies when he shall make us a praise and glory that men shall say of succeeding plantations may the lord make it like that of new england for we must consider what we shall be as a city upon a hill the eyes of all people are upon us that means that we are we are not going to bow down to other belief systems we're not going to renounce our god romans one speaks specifically to this we are not going to elevate the creation above the creator and that's what's happened in our schools that's what's taken place in our schools is that the creation has been elevated above the creator that's what evolution is about that's that that's the secular humanism that has come in and by allowing secular humanism to influence and and take over and by the renunciation of god we have managed to raise up some generations that question the role of god in the public square the role of true morality and christian morality and i would suggest that by moving away from that we are seeing more misery more murder more hunger more death and destruction and more poverty i'll be back after this
