And I talked a lot about this in the last segment, and about America's purpose, and why we're here, and why we're a Christian nation, and why that's so critically important, and how we're not an imperialistic, how we're giving how we're loving, how we how we have helped to to how we have helped to set up nations like Japan, and we set up West Germany, and we were going to set up Vietnam if the Democrats and McCain and Kerry hadn't sabotaged all of that. It's always wonderful to be on the show. You know, the truth, the absolute truth that you're speaking resonates, and I know it just doesn't resonate with me, Pastor, but for all those that are listening, I can't imagine. And I've only been around for 50 something years, but I can't imagine a time in my lifetime that this agenda, this and I'll just say the word evil agenda happening in our own country, where good men and women would stand and allow this to affect their finances, their health. And we're talking about, of course, the clot shot and their stability as believers in the almighty word of God. We're hearing from many listeners and fellow believers, they're starting to sway, Pastor, and that makes me a bit nervous, right? So what gets us through the day is our faith that our Father, the Lord God Almighty, has this under control. That for the remnant, that we will have that protection, right, through the Ephesians full armor of God, we'll have that protection.
But when your own government seems to be pulling the rug from under you and making it impossible to take care of your family the way you'd like to take care of your family, it raises a lot of eyebrows. And those that were walking that line, think of it as the center line in the highway between being at one with the Lord and following the principles that are taught in the Bible, and then going into the flesh side of things and letting temptation rule some of the decisions that they're making. This is pushing our brothers and sisters in the wrong direction. Now, I'm generalizing, you know, we have a lot of strong believers out there. But listen, it is that faith. It is that heart for the Lord that will get you through what's coming. What's coming, and I'm not about, you know, fear, fear comes from Satan, not from God. But what's coming is not going to be easy.
No one ever said it was going to be easy, but it's not going to be easy. But it's based in Revelation, right? Yeah, this is prophecy.
This is prophecy we're talking about right now. So what do you do when you have free will? We're all given free will.
You make the choices that are going to serve the kingdom and serve your family at the same time. Maybe you need to make some cuts. Maybe you need to not pay that Netflix or cable bill, right? Maybe you need to, you know, think about the near future within the next six months of filling up that pantry, making sure you have enough water. We talked about this on the show. But I think that sitting on the fence time is over, Pastor.
I do. I think you are getting pretty close to that precipice. There was an old movie years ago. Back in the 80s, there was a Cadillac chase scene, and the Cadillac goes out of control, and it's on a cliff just teetering, right?
And so everyone's jumping to the back seat so that the Cadillac doesn't fly off the cliff and jump outside the doors. Okay, so that's kind of where we're at right now. We're at that precipice. We're teetering, right, in our economy. A lot of people say we're dealing with inflation, Pastor. I am not a finance guy.
I'll say this on air, and I don't play one on TV, but I'll say this. I believe personally we are in hyperinflation because inflation, even going back to the Carter years, wasn't like what we're seeing now. Your food prices, your prices of building a new home, whether that be out of metal or be out of God's wondrous gift, lumber, whatever that is, everything is going up.
We've seen since this administration has moved into the White House, okay? The stock market, you know, it's manipulated anyway, but even those that have been playing the market for all these years see the handwriting on the wall. You know, we had a thousand something point drop the other day in the Dow. Brother, that's nothing. That's absolutely nothing.
When people stop buying the manufactured goods that our country is producing, it's because they can't afford them. Then you will see a plummet like you've never seen before, and that's just one domino. That's just one. Well, look at the results of what happened.
Yeah, residential. Look at what I was just gonna say, and then I'll start right back to you. But look at Walmart and Target, right? And what they said about their earnings. I mean, Walmart and Target had massive drops in their earnings. Folks, Walmart is one of the, I mean, it has become a staple store for a majority of Americans, honestly. The supermarket part of Walmart is where many, many, many, many, many people get their groceries.
Okay, it's the one stop shop where people go in, and that's where they dump a ton of their money. And Walmart came out and said our earnings this past quarter dropped. Those are the Americans you're talking about, Chance, that can no longer afford to go to Walmart or Target and purchase goods. Think about every mom and pop across the country that has a small business. Think of those retailers in your town, in every town across the country. They're hurting.
They're absolutely hurting. Walmart is the discount store. That's where you go when you really don't have a lot of extra funds to go to the local butcher and buy a really nice cut of beef, right?
Yeah. You go to Walmart, and you're right. I wish I knew those statistics. I had those numbers in front of me, but there's a Walmart in just about every town.
If it's not in your town, it's in a nearby town, right? So yeah, when their earnings come in short, that is the writing on the wall, right? That's what you need to know.
So listen, this isn't about doom. This is about being prepared. I'm just going to say this, folks. The time is over for waiting to make a decision.

And, you know, it's interesting, George, and that will bring it back to you, because they people will say, Well, you know, if God really wanted you to be doing this, then he would, you know, I don't know, somehow drop money out of heaven. Have you seen that lately?
Have you seen him lately just drop money out of heaven? No, but I'll tell you, you know, I encountered that all the time, the states are having their elections now, for instance, and, you know, their primary elections. And one of the things that we're seeing is pretty low turnout rates.
And these are in the same states where people are up in arms. There's a we need new blood in our state legislatures and our local offices in Congress, etc, etc. Well, again, do you think God's just gonna slight Congress, which I'm not saying I'm against, but, but that's typically not how it works. The way it works is that we are his hands and feet. And so when something good is going to happen, it happens, because he uses us to make it happen. Yeah, so I get the chain of command.
I understand. Yeah, it's, it's, I mean, that's exactly right. We are ambassadors for Christ. That's, that's what Paul refers to us as, and, and the job of the ambassador is to represent the interests of the entity that they belong to that they're attached to that they have been dispatched from.
Well, when, when we are Christians, we have been dispatched by God. And we are to represent his interests. And there's a whole lot of confusion about what does that even mean? What does that even look like when you talk about immigration?
Well, then we should be welcoming everyone from everywhere and open borders is essentially the concept of the idea behind that, except for there's one very, very particularly big problem with that. And the problem with that is, is that Scripture tells us that God is the one who actually is the first to establish boundaries and territories. In fact, the Psalms tells us very clearly that it is God who established nations and peoples and their boundaries. Look it up.
It's what it says. He established nations and peoples and their boundaries. And he gave the nation of Israel through what he described to Abram, George, very specific boundaries for that promised land. And then through the Exodus, he gave them very specific instructions. Number one, how they were to behave as strangers in someone else's land in respecting the king. It's why Abram would go and introduce himself and meet with the king and so on. It's kind of why he got in trouble with his wife Sarai, because he was trying to make sure that, you know, something bad didn't happen to his little troop. But the bottom line is, is that there were boundaries. And God and his people honored and have always honored boundaries and established boundaries and established the means by which you became a part of the nation of Israel, which is the blueprint for how America did its thing. And George Christians are just, why would you, is it possibly because there's a lot of illiteracy, biblical illiteracy amongst the Christian population today?
Well, yeah, for sure. I mean, you know, as you were talking, I was thinking a number of different things. One of them was that I was so glad to hear you explain that to people, because it's not a message that we hear very often. We get a lot of emotion, but we don't get a lot of biblical truth in those kinds of conversations. So the first thing that I thought was important was, okay, this is great, because you're drawing from stories that are in the Old Testament. In America today, most Christians avoid the Old Testament.
They think it's not relevant to the way that we live. They think that everything they need is in the New Testament. And so I think it's incredibly fruitful for you to talk about, okay, here's what God taught us with the people of old when we read the stories of the Old Testament. The second thing that impressed me about it was that you were able to put together facts about, here is an experience that's explained to us in the Scriptures, and there are principles underlying it. And it reminded me so much of Jesus in the New Testament, talking to those people who were his critics, to the religious leaders, chiding them and saying, you're so wrong, you don't know the Scriptures. And he was saying that to the religious leaders, which, by the way, is a problem that we have in America today. Our religious leaders don't know the Scriptures, and to a large extent, that ignorance is passed along to or allowed by our religious leaders.

over sorry folks I in the background yeah there's like a big plane flying I like literally live like 65 miles outside of I don't live near any big airports so it's kind of strange to hear the rumble of a big giant plane Easter you know when I lived in the Bay Area as a kid growing up you'd hear that all the time but out here in the middle of nowhere you rarely hear one of those big planes flying over your house that was kind of a odd sound it was either that or the rumble of an earthquake at any rate probably not um sorry I'm getting so off track George Varna is my it's my guest and I was telling George in the break George actually came and and visited me here in Bandera and we did in a an event together at a local church where he came and and shared and spoke and we kind of did a an on-stage interview of sorts live and in person and I had the chance when he was here to share the first part of my testimony about being given three to six months to live and and George that was that you know there's something to that right I mean that was that was something big you know yeah that's a big deal yeah kind of well apparently not such a big deal um apparently wasn't really that big of a deal because then I have this accident and I die four times and and break every bone in my body but my shoulders my elbows and my and my right hip and and all this stuff and I'm still sleeping in a hospital bed and starting to do some walking but still needing the wheelchair but I Joe I talked to George it's been a few years back now one of the first people I talked to when I got out of the hospital because he's been praying for me and following and getting updates and concerned about me and one of the things you said to me in that conversation you said well obviously you you didn't have a big enough testimony for what God wanted to do and I was telling you in the break about you know the churches in India and the wells and just all the ministry that's been done since the accident and the opportunities that God is has presented pretty pretty crazy it's incredible but you know it's to me something that brings us back to worldview why did you do that you know a lot of people would have said well God's abandoned me how could he let this happen to me you know I'm going to do something else I've got to make money to pay all the medical bills the hospital bills etc but the beauty about your life past is that you know the scriptures and you know that your purpose in life like that of me and everybody listening is to know love and serve God with all your heart mind strength and soul and so when you have that frame of mind when you encounter these kind of obstacles they're simply there to prepare you for the next level of ministry that God has waiting for you as we started out in the show talking about the only way things do fun is when people like you and I and your listeners decide I don't care what happens I have to do what God put me on earth to do that's my role in the kingdom and what a privilege it is to fulfill that and so I you know I know we have to be careful about ego and stuff I don't think it's an issue with you but you know let me say that I really honor you for your commitment to serving God with whatever gifts and opportunities and abilities and resources that he entrusts you and that's another thing that I know you understand is that when you get resources money opportunities relationships whatever you look at them as tools that God is giving to you to accomplish what he's called you to and it's that kind of mindset that enables you to keep going day after day because a person without God in your circumstances would be depressed would struggle to get out of bed would probably be looking for government assistance to pave the way for them mean all kinds of things which aren't necessarily bad but they don't allow you to rise up to who God made you to be and that that's what you're pursuing is the ultimate pastor Greg and you know God's using that and man thanks for doing that well I I appreciate that you know God God uses all types of of different means to provide you know for our needs and we just have to be sensitive to what it is that God wants to use and how he wants to accomplish that but most importantly as you said you know no matter what you're doing no matter what your job is you know whether you're you know wherever you're you're working at a grocery store you're bagging groceries you're you're putting in stock you're cleaning the floors you're the cashier you're the butcher the Baker the candlestick maker you know whatever it is that you're doing God has you there to be his ambassador to be his light in that place and for those that will come in customers that will walk in that day you you have you have no way of knowing what your smile your friendly welcome your positive impact with that individual that interaction you have no way of knowing the difference that that can mean well you know and that relates to the research we put out a couple weeks ago where we're looking at parents and what we found is the kids are not minding what their parents tell them they're not paying attention to it because kids look at both what their parents say and what they do and the rampant inconsistencies have led them to conclude well they're not worth following what we know is that a worldview is caught as much as it's taught and so what you're doing by modeling hey I know God I know he wants to use me I know all of this suffering has a purpose watch him use that in my ministry that's beautiful stuff man because you are modeling for people I am God's clay to mold however he wants to shape it I'm just happy to have him as the artist who cares enough about me to shape me into something and you know I mean when you take that perspective on life everything changes well and to be raw and real and vulnerable and sensitive to say you know there are there are struggles you know I I have to brace myself every morning when I get up to prepare for those first steps for hitting the ground and the and the pain that's going to go through I was sharing I guess in the last hour but I was up till three o'clock in the morning because last night my nervous system decided to do what it sometimes does and it felt like I had you know needles being poked into my legs pretty much all night long and I think ultimately what happened George is is I just passed out as opposed to actually you know it wasn't really a peaceful falling to sleep it was just more of a out of complete and utter exhaustion you know I passed out and and the alarm went off this morning at 645 and and you know and and start of another day and I I use some things to try to get me ready for the day I have I have a vitamin regimen that I have to take I have a few medical pills that I have to take and then I have an electromagnetic blanket that that is helps kind of get the the blood and the juices flowing but it's a choice you know I I mean that you know the enemy was working on me this morning don't do the radio show you know don't go to lunch with your friend you know I know I'm supposed to I know it's supposed to be here today I know it's supposed to do this I know God had a plan and a purpose somebody needed to hear what we've talked about and and and so you know you sometimes you you have to it's faith and trusting God and asking for his help that gets you to that next place that opens the door for something else yeah you know I mean that's lost you take you do your part God is gonna carry you as far as you need to be care and he's not give up on you so you know and you have so many instances now where you've seen God show up when you didn't think he would you know not because you doubted him no there's no doubt George there's no doubt we're gonna continue our TV side of this but just for a few minutes I know you've got to run but I there's no doubt every single day there are other ways yes sir yeah you said you said something toward the end of the show there about you know somebody needed to hear what we were talking about today and that this was kind of unusual for us because we didn't go into the research but I'll also say this is the first time in a long time when I have been doing a radio program I do a lot of these every week where I really felt that like ten minutes before you said that it God just impressed upon me that just stick with it there are some people that need to hear this and you know I mean that kind of brings tears my eyes I don't know about you but thanks for that well I I appreciate you being a part of it because you you are a part of what I do each and every day you're a part even the ministry and then that you're a part of this because you were an inspiration for me to see God it was a signpost that said go this way address these issues this has to be done I'm calling you to do it you have been an inspiration and you've been an inspiration for many many years going back to my church even that we did in California I would tell people then about the research and the things that you were talking about in the kind of the unchurched movement of sorts but you know getting back to real relationship and and real heart stuff and how important it was and and matching up what the Bible has to say with what's going on in the world today and so I I believe that you know we are going to continue our good friendship here on this planet but I believe God's going to reconnect us in eternity and I believe that when the Bema seat comes about that crowns and lives that my ministry impacts you're gonna get some credit for pieces of that brother and I really believe that with all my heart I'll tell you what we get together
