So here's the choice. Some people say the USA is finished. It's evil.

A has-been. Full of hate and injustice. The US Constitution should be trashed and the Bill of Rights abolished. No free speech, no gun ownership. Competition and free markets are bad.

We're all too stupid. For our own good, the government must own everything and know all your secrets. Other people say that America has created the freest, richest, happiest, most generous society that has ever existed in the world. That's why millions of people are desperate to come here and escape their brutal lives in Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, and 100 other countries. In America, we have the right to succeed, the right to our own living, the right to have a family, the right to believe in God, the right to have our own ideas, the right to be safe and secure, and the right to be left alone. Where do you stand? Help us save the Constitution and restore the American dream. Go to SaveMyFreedom.com.

Trinity Health Freedom Expo, and it is a pleasure to be here.

I'm Pastor Greg, you're listening to Chosen Generation Radio, and I am very pleased to welcome my guest. We had the pleasure of doing a program just a few days ago. That's right. Yeah, and you were like, Thursday? Two days ago, yes. Right, Thursday?

Yes, Thursday. And you had the pleasure of having to hear what my phone does from having been dropped too many times. Yeah, well, you know, I had to replace my cover. The great cover, by the way, this one right here. Yes, what is it? Nine bucks.

Wow, where'd you get that from? On Amazon. Okay.

Lexmark. All right, I'll take a look. Yeah, I'll send you a link.

I'll send you a link. That was an unpaid advertisement, but Lexmark, you owe me. You owe me, okay? Just telling you.

No, great stuff. Let's, so, okay. So, where was I at?

Oh, yeah. So, but we had a great conversation, and you were getting ready to go in and have breakfast at Cracker Barrel. How was that? Oh, it was wonderful. I enjoy Cracker Barrel.

It ended up so late in the day, I actually got one of their lunch specials instead. Oh, look at you. But it was very nice. Nice.

Very nice. Well, as we were talking, you know, you shared about your bouts with depression and things that you were going through. Yes. And we got into the Garden of Gethsemane. Right. And I thought it was very interesting because I shared with you how God spoke to me when I was very sick in 04, given three to six months to live and so on, and told, I mean, the Lord said, now I want you to start telling people about the Garden of Gethsemane. And I just.

That's amazing that I just, well, nothing ever happens by accident, as you know. No. Right. Right.

But I had, I mean, that's one of the things when I was in the midst of depression, I found it very helpful to meditate upon the agony of Christ in the garden and to just read and pray over that particular passages in the Bible. Yeah. Because it was a comfort, not just a comfort, it was a lifeline to know that the Lord was with me. Right.

Even if I didn't see him, if I didn't hear him audibly, if I couldn't feel an emotion of happiness or comfort, that he was there and that he knew what I was going through because he took it all upon himself and in his divinity and his humanity, Jesus. Yeah. Jesus has walked.

Right. This path with us, and he still walks it with us because he is outside of time. It's really awesome to stop and think because I know that when somebody is going through an emotional situation, the problem that you run into, the challenge that you run into oft times is they're told, oh, well, you know what? Look at what Jesus did on the cross, just kind of like brush it off, get over it. It's all in your head.

You're just an emotional basket case. But there are so many other elements, spiritual elements, emotional elements, physiological elements. That is very true. And I think one of the greatest disservices that can be done to someone who's going through a mental health challenge or mental health illness is to basically say, well, you know, if you were holier, this wouldn't be happening to you.

If you tried harder, this wouldn't be happening to you. And that's false on so many different levels because, first of all, just as you say, physically and physiologically, the process of being depressed, and I'm talking about seriously depressed. Right. I'm not talking about a day of being sad.

Right. The process of being depressed, it changes the chemistry of your brain. It changes the hormones in your body, and you need to do certain things that, you know, I'm not a doctor, so I'm not going to go into detail. I've found a lot of things were very helpful in therapy and some medication too, and the exercise and good diet. But the fundamental thing is just be with someone if they're suffering.

Just be present to them. Oh, man. Look, I was suicidal at 13, came to Christ, walked away for about four years, came back at 22. That spirit is something I've always been sensitive about, not so much the suicidal, but just depression. And when my endocrine and pituitary system collapsed, my pituitary gland stopped working, my adrenal gland stopped working. Depression is one of the main side effects of a depleted adrenal system. Yes.

And they said you have, you know, clinical depression. It is not, and now I'm going to tell you from my own personal experience, if you don't address the spiritual side, you really will never get out of it, I believe. You can treat the physiological as much as you want.

You can try to talk yourself out of it and self-talk and all that, and those are all great things. Yes. But if you don't deal with where the root of the attack, which is spiritual, and that doesn't mean it's going to stop. I don't want people to get the wrong, right? Right.

Jesus, 40 days in the desert, the devil went away and left him for a time. Yes. Yes. Yes. And we know, and I love, that's why I believe God said you've got to minister about the Garden of Gethsemane. You know, Paul writes, and he says in Romans, rejoice with those that rejoice and weep with those that weep. Right.

Right? And that's really part of my mission, which I write about in my book, because three years ago, God asked me in, you know, through small ways, but discerning it over time, fairly quickly, to just trust him and get on the road, to be a full-time nomad, to live in my trailer, tow it with a truck, which I had to learn how to drive. And so my book is all about the practical aspects of how I learned how to do this, but more importantly, the book is interwoven in almost a devotional fashion. I've got prayers in there, I've got reflections that you can ask yourself, and I've got sections on presence and witness and how we need to bring God and need to bring Jesus and the Holy Spirit into our ordinary lives, whatever those ordinary lives are, and have him be present in the moment to the people that we are talking to, that we need to be fully present to them, because you may be the only person that shows them the face of Christ. That can reach them in that moment. Yes.

That can reach them in that moment. I remember when, you know, in a situation late at night coming home from church, dressed kind of like this with a shirt and tie and what have you suit, and I'm driving past the park that was just across the railroad tracks from our house that we lived in, and there was underneath the lamp, sitting on the picnic bench, a woman by herself, appeared to be by herself. And I heard the Holy Spirit say, I want you to go and tell her that God loves her. Wow. That's a beautiful thing. And I was, but I mean, I was apprehensive, right?

Right. Because maybe there were people hiding in the bushes and she was there by herself. Or she's going to call the police and say, there's some crazy man out here, you know, come arrest him, right? I mean, I don't know, a lot of things that could happen.

I drove around probably three, maybe four times saying, okay, Lord, is this really you? I want to be sure because I don't want to act in my flesh. Absolutely. And that is so important when we hear the voice of God, you know, he's really understanding.

You can go back and ask him, okay, how is this going to happen? And that's, you know, that's what Mary did. Yeah. She said, you know, be it done unto me according to thy word, but you know, how is this going to happen? Right.

Exactly. So, so I get out of the car and I start walking towards her. Well, as I'm walking towards her, suddenly out of the shadows come children.

And her kids were there with her and they all kind of surround, right? Her looking at me. And I get to a distance where I can, you know, kind of speak, but not too close. And I said, I don't want to frighten you. I'm not here to cause any harm. But I have something that I believe I'm supposed to tell you.

Yes. And she, you know, gave me the impression of, okay, what is it? And I said, God told me to tell you that he loves you. And she started weeping. I mean, crying. That's beautiful. And that is, I mean, so many people are just hungry for love and they don't know where that love is.

They don't know that the source of all love is God. Well, and so what she told me after she regained her composure was, I've been having issues, my husband and I, and just life. And I came out here. I have been sitting out here since early this morning.

This is midnight now. Oh, that poor thing. And I have been crying out to God and saying, where are you? Do you still love me? That was her question.

Do you still love me? And he gave the answer through you. How humbling and wonderful to be part of transmitting that answer.

And as exciting as that is, and as grateful as I was to do that, how many people did he try to tell that during the day that did that drive around and thought, I don't think I can go do that? Right. He speaks very often in a still small voice, as we know, and being open to that, taking that risk, opening your hands, letting go of things, letting go of things of worrying about how you look, how you sound, what people are going to think. When you open your hands like that, he fills them with so much. It breaks the barrier.

Yes. It breaks the barrier. When I'm talking to people and they say, well, you know, how am I supposed to hear God? How am I supposed to do this listening thing? I say to them, well, look, when you're having a conversation with me and you're doing it now and this is, but you're watching your booth.

Did you notice that? No, no, no, no. But you're thinking about, okay, I got a booth over here. I got, you know, I got to sell books. I got to, because you do. I mean, you're here. You got to make a living. I mean, these are important. This is very important.

Point being, we all have that. Yes. We're all thinking. I'm thinking I'm talking to you, but I'm kind of thinking about who's my next guest going to be?

How's my son going to get somebody over here? I mean, these are normal things. Sure.

This is disrespectful to anybody. The brain is an amazing thing and it can actually do multiple functions. Yes. Point is, one of those streams should be, Father, what are you saying in this moment?

Yes, that's true. Holy Spirit, how, what do you want me to say? Yes. I just say to the people listening to this and I, you know, one of the things that I like to say to people and that I think he wants me to say is just that God loves you.

Yes. There is hope that no matter what you're going through, he's there and you may not see him or feel him, but be still and just try to rest in him. You can read the scripture, you can look at a beautiful depiction of art and you can look at the beauty of nature and that's something that I find on the road. Romans 1. Romans 1, right? He reveals himself in creation.

I preached that when I preached to the people in India. I was, as I was listening, you know, to what you were sharing just now, I'm thinking about, you know, again, how the other piece to this is God loves us so much that he sent his son to die. Why did he die? Because of sin. And I try to explain to you, sin is like a cancer. Yes.

We've got to remember that sin is truly like a cancer and he has a complete cure. Right. He's won. He's defeated.

Absolutely. And that doesn't mean that we don't still suffer, but when we're suffering, he can join us in our suffering. We can give our suffering to him.

We can put it at the foot of the cross and we can say, God, please use this, use this to help others. I know that nothing that happens to me does not happen without it being part of your providence. And so he asks us to trust him even in our suffering.

And sometimes I know that's really, really difficult. And sometimes, as we said to begin this segment, you kind of have to sit with him in that Garden of Gethsemane and just deal with some weeping. Yes.

And it's okay. Jesus wept. Yeah.

Oh my gosh. He sure did. And in the garden, he wept tears of blood. Yeah. To that extreme. And so, you know, yes, he went to the cross to set us free, but he also experienced that severe and incredible challenge and pain and hurt. And he can help you get through it. We'll be back with more.

I'll get it right.

But at any rate, just don't forget the Health Freedom Expo, Trinity Health Freedom Expo, and you'll find the school. All right. But my guest I want to talk to, Linda Rosell, and she is the Tin Can Pilgrim.

You can find the Tin Can Pilgrim book at TinCanPilgrimBook.com. Let's talk about the book. All right. Well, I wrote this book.

I started writing it in January of this year. This is a total Holy Spirit thing because I was on the road. I was out in Montana.

I was volunteering at a campground and one of my daughters needed some help with some things. And so I came back east. And while I was east, I decided to take care of my own personal maintenance and my own checkups. And I, in a screening mammogram, I was diagnosed with very early stage breast cancer. And because of that, I had to park my little Airstream and move in with my daughter for a couple months while I had surgery and radiation treatment.

And it all went very well. But God used that time when I could not be wandering around and talking to people I'd met on the road. He used that to have me minister to some friends locally, but also to write this book, because I'd had it in the back of my mind that I'm writing a travel blog and maybe I should write a book. But I didn't know what kind of book to write. And a girlfriend of mine said, you know, Linda, I'm taking this class. I'm writing a book and you should take it too. And so I signed up for the class and the woman teaching the class said to me, you have five books in your outline. What I want to know is how did a highly successful corporate and government attorney all of a sudden get to the point in her life where she could give everything up and become a full-time nomad, sell her house and live on the road. So how did that happen and how did you learn how to RV?

Wow. So my book combines the spiritual and the practical. So I've got all these stories of RVing and adventure, but they're grounded in faith. And they talk about how I came back to the church after being away for 18 years and how I grew in my faith to the point where I could say yes when God said, trust me, go on the road and be present to other people and talk to them about me to the extent that they're open. You would invite people because that's what God does. He invites. He doesn't coerce. We are not slaves.

We have free will. And so the book, you know, I wrote it and I wrote the whole thing in 60 days in a rough draft. Wow. And then the woman teaching the class happened to own a small indie press called St. John's Press. And so she offered to publish my book because she liked it so much. And so I went through some editing rounds and it got published in July of this year.

And the first week it was on Amazon, it hit 12 different bestseller categories. How incredible. Isn't that awesome? I love that.

I mean, the title is just so amazing. We're out of time. Tin Can Pilgrim Book is the website. Tin Can Pilgrim Book, Linda Rosell.

Be sure and pick up the book. I'm your host, Pastor Greg. You've been listening to Children Generation Radio. And remember, at the end of the day, I'll be back with more Children Generation Radio tomorrow.

Be sure and tune in. At the end of the day, when I stand before my God, I do not want him to ask me, what did you do with the world that I sent my son to die for and redeem? How did you fight the good fight to share the good news and keep evil in check?

How did you shine your light and be a beacon of truth in the darkness? Did you shrink back in fear when they demanded you change my message? Did you call evil good and good evil? Did you forsake my love for that of another, lying with the adulterer and setting up a new idol in your life? Have you defiled yourself through compromise and tolerance of that which I call an abomination? Have you innocent blood on your hands for the children murdered on your watch and the young ones perverted in their way by evil men, seeking their own comfort and reviling me?

No. At the end of the day, I want him to simply say the evidence is in. Well done, thou good and faithful servant. I love my God and I love his creation. And I will go to my grave telling the world that evil is evil and only God is good. And Jesus came to save the world. That no matter the evil in the world, I will never give up and in spite of the hate, I will love in truth.

God bless you all and may love remove the veil so you all might enter into his rest. Are you getting up in the morning feeling like you and your bed had a bad night, still tired? Stop!
