Harvest messages are brought to you by harvest partners to receive free email daily devotions or to become a harvest partner, please visit us online@harvest.org welcome Alex so harvest my name is Jason Powell, one of the pastors here and I am very excited to launch is brand-new series with Dr. Greg call tell someone talks really want to be looking at life hacks to evangelism how to be effective at sharing the gospel is our calling until someone talks kind of giving that Ted talks feel if you ever watch those before. So we're sharing the most practical and tactical tips that talking to people about Jesus in a real way down we guide Crusade season. I'm in full swing wearily as Pastor Greg mentioned 21 days 21 away from Phoenix, Arizona.
It's kind of like like a marathon. I don't know if you've ever ran before, maybe a marathon or half marathon, but I hear I haven't the right, but what I hear is that people run weeks prior, even months prior to the marathon just to get their body know to work out and work in what is needed and so what Pastor Greg has vision for these next few weeks is for us to try to get worked out and get worked in for this big evangelistic day but that you would also become effective at sharing your faith.
We want to help you really learn how to be used by God in this area. A personal evangelism now.
We called to tell someone, which can only seem like a command like I go tell somebody, but he could also be a desire like I can't wait to tell somebody recently. As an example, I and my wife found out she was pregnant and so we of course things so that pregnancy loss in a difficult road travel and so you know it's kind like you little sketchy were no Lord were trusting you were fearful were scared but were excited will just this past Monday with the opportunity to find out is it a boy or is it a girl. And so we you know being in their current culture. There is a fad right now called gender review all parties of you seen those.
Maybe it also the other idea for those of you that don't know is that you would go to the doctor get the sonogram and you tell the doctor. I don't know tell me.don't tell me put in an envelope and then you take it and then with family and friends around you have this big gender reveal surprise what it's going to be. Why couldn't hold back or I were in the doctor's office and the doctors like you want to know what yes velvet delving as I got to see and then immediately I'm calling friends and family texting them and telling them the like wanting to do a gender reveal party like I couldn't wait. It was too good. You know, I just want to know so what my wife and I didn't do be trendy as we put on social media I like is a fake gender reveal party. Also, this is what we did little black balloon that we filled up and we popped it and as we had to find out what the baby is and is a boy were excited when something amazing happens to you, you generally want to do what you want to tell someone I gotta tell you what just happened to me or what I just experienced because great things are not meant to be kept secret. You know whether it's an adventure or an anniversary trip or your kids are putting on media.
I mean everybody's posting stuff nowadays because they're excited about it. An amazing meal. You know like I ate the best Mexican food ever insulated pictures of it, you know, even recently, I heard of a guy.
He lives in Reno Nevada. He's a high school student, and he did something so funny. He messaged on twitter the fast food chain Wendy's and he asked Wendy's on twitter. How many retweets will it take for you to give me a years free of chicken nuggets and Wendy's responded to this high school students that if you have 18 million retweets will give you your free chicken nuggets and so he put consider it done and that I was a month ago and he has right now.the most retweets of all time is 3.5 million retweets and I went to bed the most.
Again advertise most seen suite of all time.
And so they are given to him again but here free chicken nuggets is hashtag was nuggets for Carter and so he got his notes the people they get excited and they post about random. My question to you today is that you view the gospel.
Do you view the gospel as something I can't wait to get out. I have to share this. I have to tell somebody about what Jesus has done for me that God created man sinned by Jesus say is something that moves your heart.
Listen to me if Jesus satisfies your heart, you will want to share about him.
If you walk with him. You will be a witness of him you know today. Pastor Greg and I are talking about the topic of evangelism and were starting at the beginning, working to cover what is the gospel.
Pastor Greg talk about what it is and why we share it and then I'm in a cannot and him and help you understand how to share, so Pastor Greg dealing with some very important truths of the gospel and the nominee give you boots on the ground advice in life hacks to how to be effective in sharing about Jesus and so taking over right now.
Pastor Greg turn your attention to the screen. All right, let's grab our Bibles and let's turn over to the book of the gospel of John. I should say in chapter 3 will look at a very familiar verse. There, in the moment, but of the time of my messages.
What is the gospel, so we live in the day of bad news, a day of divisive news a day depressing news and it day of fake news right so we as Christians need to recommit ourselves to getting the good news out when I say the good news. I mean, the good news of the gospel. You all know that the word gospel means good news that I believe the gospel of Jesus Christ remains the hope of the world and the only hope for our country on the only goal for any person living on the face of the earth and we needed. Perhaps more now in our country. The maybe in the other time in our history know when I say this I'm not in any way saying we don't need to go out and do the good things we do as Christians know nobody does more for hurting people than Christians. This is the bottom line, I mean most churches I know of constantly are providing food and clothing, then sometimes housing and rehabilitation for people who may have problems with drugs or around the streets are, we will provide free counseling for people with troubled marriages, and all day long.
We help people in practical ways that we do that a lot and so we should but that should not take the place of gospel proclamation because Jesus did not say go into all the world and be a good example know he said going to wall the world and do what preach the gospel. Other doesn't mean I should will be about example, the fact is I'm I'm a good example all in effect earned the right to preach the gospel and if I go to a person on the street with no food and I buy them a meal in a way I've sort of earned the right to have a conversation with them about God so you have that going but the main thing is is we need to articulate. No, don't be thrown out by the word preach only say going to all the world and preach it doesn't mean you have to be a preacher because only hear the word preach or preacher. It usually in a negative way right there will say don't preach at me right.
It's a negative number positive and Diana usually involves you know, elevating one's volume and you know that sort of thing but but that's not what were talking about when we say will do all the world and preach the gospel we could just as easily signal to all the world and talk the gospel going to wall the world and tweak the gospel going on the world and you know posting to Facebook page that something about the gospel going all the world and start conversations about the gospel. So it's not about yelling it's not about elevating your voice so there are times so that just about communicating this message. I mean, what would you think of watching the show. Maybe the news that was on sale six and the anchorman took a seat behind the desk with his perfectly coiffed hair and the theme song rolled them in the camera window for the tight shot. We just sat there and smiled and he smiled for like 28 minutes and I was in the program, so it was all about. Will they convinced that I was just being a good example know you're there to deliver the news so give us the news so yeah be a good example, but deliver the news and that's what were talking about in this series articulating the message and listen to this. I don't think most Americans have heard a proper presentation of the gospel versions of it. I think they've heard distortions of it, but I wonder how many people have heard a proper biblical and I might have loving and understandable presentation of the gospel.
Here are some stats 7/10 American adults have no clue as to what John 316 means nearly 1/3 of all adults know the meaning of the expression the gospel only 4% of adults could define the great commission.
So when you go up to someone and say the gospel don't even assume they know what that word means we have to break this down. It's very important that we understand what the gospel is because the Bible warns about false gospel that people can believe it. Galatians 1 St. Paul 61 up all rights, I'm astonished that you're so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ in your journey to a different gospel which is really no gospel at all. Evidently, some are throwing you in the confusion and they're trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. Paul says if we're even an angel from heaven, should preach the gospel in the one we preached to let him be preach to you, let him be eternally condemned. That's interesting. There can be a different gospel listen to this. Any gospel presentation that promises forgiveness without repentance is not the gospel. Any gospel presentation that promises the glory of heaven without warning of the Roosevelt is not the gospel. So my fear is a lot of people are either hearing a distorted gospel or their hearing on watered down the gospel one that is so deluded and so benign and so vanilla that there's nothing in it. There's no teeth in this gospel limits not really a biblical gospel so person say what I believed in Jesus and I prayed and asked him my life. So let's go get drunk Houston we have a problem there's a disconnect between lifestyle and so-called conversion here so I think some people are believed false gospel that they've had what we would call a false or fake conversion and were giving false assurance so we want to make sure we giving the real gospel to what elements must be in place for the gospel to be the gospel certain ingredients was neither to make a chocolate cake and I leave out chocolate so longer chocolate cake that I'm in the present the gospel and I leave these elements out is not really the gospel already told you the word gospel means good news before we can fully appreciate the good news we have the first note. The bad news I heard a story about two old guys who are wondering if there's baseball and have so they promised each other. If one of them died before the other. They would communicate from the other side. Let them know if there's baseball and have someone of them died and then a week later he spoke to his friend from heaven.
This is a true story. It's obvious that you so he spoke to his friend said Joe I've got good news, I meant having to guess what there's baseball and full his body was so excited says that that's the good news of there's some bad news is that with the bad news. He said well you're pitching on Friday so that you know that good news, bad news, Joe tried. There's a million of J so the good news yes is forgiveness. But let's first begin with the bad news so we can fully appreciate the good news. The bad news.
The bad news is we are all sinners. We've sinned against a holy God. No matter who we are.
We have said enough, sometimes maybe in a grant but we have often done it on purpose. Romans 323 averse every Christian should memorize all of sin. The fallen short of the glory of God, for someone eight says that we say we have no sin, we deceives art, deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
So these are important things to explain some you're talking to a nonbeliever you up to establish with them that their center no.
Don't assume that a person who is not a believer understands what it means to be a sinner because they may think you're insulting that we are so person so first of all what a first volume to explain that you're a sinner to New York to explain what sin means the word sin is translated many ways in the Bible.
One definition is a trespass crossing along Ephesians 21 says you are dead in your transgressions trespasses and sins. So only break the commandment of God.
For instance, were crossing along.
You see the little sign in the park where the grass is just been planted. You note no trespassing. So if you step over that line, you just cross that line so we will broken God's commandments.
We've all crossed the line. But there's another definition of sin in the Bible and the means to miss the mark to miss the mark and it's sort of the idea of archery firing out the target with your arrows, your bow and your arrows and maybe like 10 arrows and the objective is to get all of them in the bull's-eye and you get, you know, one of the bull's-eye and one in the outer part of the ring and then one in the friend next to you. One of the stray cow walking by. Don't know but you know so you got a horrible job I woke up after you and I good all night in the mind of the bull's-eye, but one just a little off. I'm still a sinner because I still miss the mark. Granted, you missed the mark. More than I miss the mark but missing the mark once is enough to technically miss the mark. The Bible says all of miss the mark. Miss what Mark got smart God standard for humanity which is perfection. So you see here's the thing you're a sinner, don't take it personally. I'm a sinner to this.
It was a good person. You say you know what, I'm not disputing that because in a broad sense, they may be a good person, relatively speaking only say a person is not good when adjusting the bad in every way were simply saying they're not good enough to get to heaven we tell them there is sinner were acknowledging that we too are sinners and we have crossed the line and we've fallen short of God standard than the civil I've never sinned and then that's when the 10 Commandments commit my table if you ever light.
Have you ever taken the Lord's name in vain. Have you always honor your father and your mother.
Have you ever stolen anything of you ever have lust in your heart for someone or committed adultery will if they're truthful, that's a okay guy so you say one sin is enough to keep you out of habit so you're establishing the problem.
That's the bad news that were all sinners. But here's the good news. The good news is, God has done something to alleviate our condition. The good news is, as Christ came to this earth to die on the cross for our sin. Romans five says when we were utterly hopeless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners now no one is likely to die for good person so someone might be willing to die for a person is especially good, but Christ showed his love toward us that when we were sinners he died.
So you basically say because there was no other way for you to satisfy the righteous demands of God, Christ died for you because Jesus was fully God and he was fully man.
There's never been a man was walked this earth like Jesus and that's why he and he alone is uniquely qualified to bridge the gap between sinful amenity and a perfect and holy God that we have all sinned against. Okay so you tell them this and this is what Jesus did and they might ask, will what if I don't believe in Jesus because I don't really think I want to what will happen to me there's a lot of Christians choke because we don't want to use the H word when I want to say hello and trouble so discredit the subject. What will happen to you. Let me ask you this. Do you like warm climates. Sooner or later you have to say the truth will here's the truth.
If you reject God's offer of forgiveness. The Bible says you go to hell. Hell will set well. How can a God of love, send people to hell is usually the question you will hear and in here's something to consider. Jesus Christ spoke more about hell than all the other preachers of the Bible put together usually think of Jesus as the personification of love and grace. And indeed he was, but he talked about hell more than anybody else like because he has seen the horrors of it. He knows what hell is all about, and the last thing he wants is for any man or woman created in his image to spend eternity separated from him, how can a God of love. Some people to hell. The fact is, God doesn't really send people to hell. We make that choice ourselves. CS Lewis said, quote there are only two kinds of people in the end those who say to God by will be done those to whom God says in the end by will be done.
All who are in hell. Choose it right, choose it, writes Lewis without that's all choice there could be no hell." Timothy Keller wrote, quote people only get in the afterlife with the most wanted either to have God as Savior and Master are to be their own saviors and Masters hell is simply once freely chosen path going on forever." So the idea is God doesn't send you there. You send yourself there by your rejection of God's gift to you forgiveness of sins. Did you have committed and so only Christ can do this for you and then eventually going to get around the John 14 six another verse.
Every Christian should memorize which is Jesus speaking I am the way the truth and the life and no man comes of the father but by me. The apostle Paul echoed the same words acts 412. There is salvation in no one else.
Under heaven there is no other name for men to call upon to save them. Paul said the same thing. Just me Peter said that another thing Paul said in first Timothy 25 there's one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, so here's where your head.
You're headed to the message of the death and resurrection of Jesus. See, that's the main thing I you will use your testimony to build a bridge telling your personal story, but the main thing is you want to get to this essential message and you don't want to get distracted and get off on rabbit trails. People want to get into political discussions or debates about other things answer those questions to the best of your ability and bring it back home again.
Christ modeled this for us as we saw in our last time in John four with the woman at the well, the Wanting to debate subjects that were irrelevant to what he was talking about the broader back to the main subject and you must do the same.
Here's the key it's the kiss principle shifts principle KISS an acronym for. Keep it simple stupid just keep it simple.
Don't talk over person said don't make it over complicated presented in an understandable simple way.
Make sure the person understands what you're saying.
The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. Let me say that again. The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing and the main thing is the gospel belie the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ in getting to that message.
I'm telling you it has power. I'm I'm still amazed.
Even though I've been preaching there for many years now, how when I proclaim this message. How it impacts lives.
It's not my message. I'm just a delivery boy I told you before when as a kid, I had a paper route and I had my supercool Schwinn stingray with a stick shift that will make them anymore because there really dangerous to put a stick shift on a bicycle, don't you think that's the slick back tire smaller front tire banana see sort of elevated handlebars. Very cool and I have my bags on their my newspapers and I got pretty adept at getting that paper is close to the front door as possible.
My job is as a newspaper boy was not to write the news. My job is not to make the news. My job was to deliver the news and that's our job is just to deliver the good news and here's something to consider. You are successful in your conversations with the gospel is preached and understood.
Let me say that again. Hear me on this. You are successful in sharing the gospel when it's preached. It understood that venture job.
Only God can convert a person. I've never converted anyone. I never will convert anyone. That's the work of the spirit, but my job my calling my commission and yours as well is to bring the message to a person. So five the opportunity to articulate the gospel message in an understandable way. I've done my job and I have succeeded. Sometimes God will help me so a seat don't think because you so to see I wasn't a good day. Listen, no seat is ever going to be reaped if it is in first so so purchase so another day the Lord I have your water is seeing someone else. So in other days by his grace to let you reaper others have sown and water and that's a really good point if we don't. So then why would we expect to read a farmer that's not out there casting seed and planting we shouldn't expect to partake of it. I really believe that God provides opportunities for us on a very regular basis, and if you're not paying attention. We could potentially miss those opportunities you know it was just a little while ago.
I don't know how many of you ever lost your wallet and if you have lost your wallet before okay will I lose everything I buy the way and so I lost my wallet a little while ago and I was on a Tuesday and so I because I losing so often, like in my wallet right now I have with this Bluetooth trackers of your weirdest skull tile like this so often I lose stuff I have to have a Bluetooth finder because I lose so much anyways I lose my wallet on a Tuesday and I get on my phone and I'm like oh my goodness where's my wallet out and it turns out to be in downtown Riverside and get down here you know. And so I immediately drive over to downtown Riverside and look everywhere for my wallet and I can't find somebody to the Bluetooth tracker and they tossed it and so is up on a building like us on my wallet and I couldn't find it and I was so bombed by Tuesday night I come to church and we got our small groups that are happening and so I'm a leader in small groups for V2 studies and I got my guy sitting around all nine of us and house were talking Irene helps them remember what my credit card is linked to a an email address whenever it's charge I get an email and just then, I'm not even kidding I can email that somebody just charged $40 on my credit card down the street in Riverside at a gas station and so I'm in my small government guys, let's go. And so we we write outside and we did in my car you know you and cars and we drive limit over to the gas station and I jump out my profiling people like is that you know who is and I run inside I asked the did you happen to know charge card for 40 bucks regarding Jason Powell and I don't know what you're talking about night all run outside.
I'm looking everywhere, you know, I'm walking up the car is kindly keeping in is a you you know I'm my guys all nine of us. We they saw one individual is actually couple on bikes left the gas station.
They went to Sears and they saw him crossing the street to Jack-in-the-Box and so we piled into cars and we drive over slow as we can to Jack-in-the-Box and I go pulling up to Jack-in-the-Box is there walking in Siebel window down. Excuse me real quick question for you guys mind exiting you my name is I am a pastor at a local church. Uncle harvest in this morning I lost my wallet.
I'm just wondering if you happen to have it and then the check was like no wallet, dare you accuse us and Michael, sorry I'm just asking. I look at the guy hey man again. I would just be so grateful.
Did you happen to find my wallet.
I might owe it. So he's like yes Jason Powell. We do have your wallet. You knew my name. My ID right on my blaster and so she finishes like give it to her so she pulls it out of her pocket lawyer, but all of a sudden walking Jack-in-the-Box and God just on the moment just reminds me to do something I don't hey I'm so grateful you guys can my wallet back. Can I go and thereby even something to eat and what we just spent 40 bucks in the gas station I might. I know it's in some he says we don't deserve that. Why would you do that I don't question something my entire life, God is given what I don't deserve. I mean I've practiced so much debt with God in my sin I disobeyed him every day. But every single day. He gives me what I don't deserve them there like really you're not to call the cops might ask my brothers a cop down the street if you want to come over but I won't. I will give you just a somebody give you grace and so we go when we biennial all nine of us are around the table were preaching the gospel in sharing and so his name is Anton.
It was awesome but it gets better, Anton. Here's a gospel of Christ.
But there's a girl behind the counter Jack-in-the-Box. She overhears the whole thing. She gives me free eight will awesome but she overhears, but she did hear the conversation outside so she says I can't believe you brought him food deserve that I don't but that's just what God is giving me what I don't deserve and so I preach the gospel to his gal behind the counter she hears it. She's tearing. I asked her.
Do you want a relationship with Jesus Christ you believe that he died for you and he rose again from the dead. She said I I do want that relationship with the Lord.
She's tearing up and it's crazy like this is so surreal about the leader's role in Christ behind the counter, but then all of a sudden like Satan incarnate here comes a manager what's going on were you don't like all tannic warfare is going so I getting her contact information and you.
It's crazy to think in all of this that lost wallet would lead to an opportunity to preach the gospel.
This is what were saying today. God is put you right where you're at such a time as this. Like Jason I work at a non-Christian place in the Army.
My coworkers are healing dogs. You know Mike also but the people next to me where I live in the apartment above me there like elephants up there, you know, stomping around and I can't believe awesome my family. Jason their atheist they don't believe in God, perfect but my friends, God put you where you're at so you can be a light in a dark place.
I am confident of this fact that if you grasp on in these great truths that God loves you and he's proven his love for you on the cross and that motivate your heart and you want to tell someone God will provide you opportunities to do just that. Now when I'm talking to people about sharing your faith often times they say will Jason I just II don't know what if I'm scared no one could happen to me and they create excuses as to why they don't want to do it fast.
Greg showed us the why and in the what, but the how and why personally asking yourself why you hold back from talking to people about Jesus really think about it I will Jason. What if I look dumb. What if I say something that that isn't right.
Listen, if you know how to get your house you now to get home, give directions to your house then you know how to get to heaven right you not give directions were just giving people directions to their true home just saying hey there's one way to get there. It's the Jesus Christ okay.
It's easy not to worry about saying the wrong thing will will Jason I mean, what if what if I get rejected.
Will Jesus was rejected. So your good company that's all right all I mean what I don't know enough if you know the good news that God created man sin.
But Jesus saves.
Then you know enough okay will Jason what if I get asked the question. I don't know the answer to.
They just line along okay not a lie.
Don't get me honest, I don't know. I don't know about these arguments. I'm not sure about what you're in reference to what you bring it back.
You just overhears what I do know I do know that Jesus has changed me, and I'm no longer the same person that I used to be. You see, our goal in evangelism is to build a bridge not burning. It's to have conversations, not confrontation really is a monologue, not a monologue of the dialogue on a monologue were looking to get to the soul, not just win the argument. So in all of this.
I think we can look at our Bible to find some some methods to how to share our faith effectively go over some of these methods I see in the Bible. The first when I would point out would be the apostle Paul, if you know the book of acts the apostle Paul was at Mars Hill when he was engaging with some intellectuals in the approach that he used.
To get the gospel to them was one of persuasion. He was using his intellect and his reason to point out where they needed to trust in the resurrection, and so if you know someone that's super smart and there like a geek and you need to go that direction, that's awesome. It's a great method to use just land at the gospel. First Peter did proclamation evangelism acts chapter 2.
It was a day of Pentecost. He got up and he dropped the gospel thousands of people get saved I mean this is what we see today with our ministry pastor Greg and he just 21 days. He's getting get up and proclaim the gospel again at Phoenix, Arizona were praying that thousands are going to get say this is an awesome method to evangelism. Then there's the Samaritan woman John chapter 4. She has an encounter with Jesus and literally it turns the world upside down and so she goes into the city and she tells everybody in the city. Hey all, like this is invitation to come with me like you to become calm and see the guy that just told me everything about me.
He knows about my live-in boyfriend.
That's what she was saying. As of the entire city goes out to see Jesus because they were invited by her to go. What a great way dear people, you can invite to come to church dear people around you that you can get that invitation to Philip the Ethiopian eunuch Philip ran out to the chariot in acts eight and he asked the guy a question about the question approach you say bro what you read, and any began a dialogue with them.
He said I see what you're reading your reading about Jesus and you can do that with people on the phone are people that are reading things around or maybe something that you're watching together.
You can question what people are looking at what they're hearing in the news today. You can ask them just heart searching questions. There's Andrew and you're one of my favorite in John chapter 1 he had that the compulsion approach where he literally wouldn't got his brother Peter as I KP you're coming with me working to go talk to Jesus like the Messiah is here in Peter like no I don't want to get in the car were going right and so Peter goes with Andrew to meet Jesus. And so Andrew did this amazing thing. He compelled him and you parents this is your opportunity here compelling bringing your children to church. You're saying you're going to come with me when you have that open door with somebody you have to calm know you're coming like right now.
Come on, I'm Dragon you and your and enjoy it and we bring people to Christ. Then there's the last one. It's the blind man. John nine where he says I was blind, now I see this is declaration is the testimony where your life is been changed by the gospel and you can't wait to tell people about it you like no I was in the dark. Now I'm in the light I was a cockroach running in the dark. The lights came on and now I am enjoying Jesus all of these approaches are great and if you use any of them.
I'm encouraged and I say continue down that road, but I wanted to share with you one method today that could potentially bring all of these together for you and make it easy.
I call it hand journalism your right hand.
Journalism like this is weird yeah okay that you remember it this way are. I know I will Jason what is it mean this is a roadmap to evangelism. I'm to help you learn how to start a conversation and then end a conversation. So using your hand if you don't have one. Use your neighbors this what you can do the very first thing that you do in a conversations with your index finger eyes for index finger, you invite out now to get to church this morning you you got a little pamphlet here you can open it up and follow along this evangelism or even evangelism.com you can see it, you can invite people out to church. I love this church and I often invite people I come with me to harvest. Come join me and I give them personal invitations to the church that I go to and it works every time. So you have a neighbor that you can go invite out to come to church with you. Hey, come Sunday or Wednesday. I'll save you a seat. People are waiting to be engaged.
They really are. And so this is probably the easiest way I have found open conversations with the simple invite, but now there are some wrong things to do in this area and I put together a video a little while ago.
Maybe some of you seen it.
It's where I am at a coffee shop and I'm showing you the wrong ways to share your faith, and so you want to see it only show you some wrong ways to preach the gospel wrong ways to share your faith is so check out this video provided is going on unless you going down the normally usual couple girls like our back is that first last. Churchill.
Churchill is available not just Dino's real quick time of Jesus.
I woke up late.
Share something from God's word hit me up in my Devos is movement and as I share this 11 Thursday one of the living water is drawn your back when I was a Christian I was making so much money is a graphic designer.
Even morning morning and you go walking in the flesh. I'm in office you don't really know God, you tapped your ear and stuff. Prayer is not realizing that there is a God sent Jesus to die for you see that in chapter 28 of Deuteronomy. I just crazy crazy well I'm crazy but not easier.
You can't touch something I'm blessed to blessed to be stressed by the devil's Mets was holding you back from committing your life to Jesus Christ. I said in your life is what's going on scared hell is scary today on a hot hell is. Hopefully you don't go there so this is good of the New Testament is just applicable. Have you guys notice this washed by the blood of the lamb I need so that you are justified, sanctified, future glorified him.
This is amazing. You gotta come out to travel to come to church help.
There's some things that you should not say in evangelism and clearly there they are. So you get a personal invitation where your caring about the person, but concentrating on the gospel and so you got the invite out now.
The second step is M for middle finger. Don't give them the middle finger just M for middle finger is the main question I believe there are two major questions to life. One question is this. If you were to die today where you think you would go or what you believe is the meaning to life. When you ask this question, it takes a whole new level what you're doing is you're exposing their heart to what they truly believe about life in the afterlife. And so when you ask where you going when you die to give you their response. You know there to say a whole plethora of things, sometimes heaven, sometimes held a few nights ago exactly what a gentleman told me to go to hell, even at a coffee shop two days ago I talked to a girl and asked her what she thing the meaning of life is.
I don't know was her answer. Note when you ask these questions people's thoughts come alive.
Any are forced to articulate it in front of you. Now the next spot is are for reading finger and this is where you have them rethink what they believe, and this is the easiest of all because you're simply asking them the question why they know why. I think I'm to go to hell when I die while okay why do you think you would go to hell if you died today will because I been a bad person or them.
I say I think I'm going to heaven when I die. Why do you think you would go to heaven if you were to die today because I'm a really good person, you start to find out again what they're thinking about God what they think about salvation and what Jesus is done or they don't think about him at all, and our goal is to help them in this process. Again your roadmap at any point invite.
I'm been asking the main question and then to have them rethink him after what they're thinking about and why they believe what they believe. Then the next spot which is most important P for Pinkie time to preach the gospel and this is where you get right into it.
What we've learned tonight with her this morning with Pastor Greg for your learning that hey there Scott. He exists and he's designed and created everything man he's rebelled against the creator and you're guilty before God. But Jesus all he saves.
He diving he resurrected and you can know him, you preach the full gospel, and then at the very end. It's T for some you get their response to they reject it, or do they receive it.
I'm telling you, if you follow this simple guideline you will become more effective in sharing your faith. You know, it sounds easy doesn't it yet because it is I like evangelism makes evangelism easy now. I want to give you one last little life hack here to help you start a conversation this week. Here's my challenge family. I challenge you to use the servant approach this week.
What you find someone that you can bless either a leave a bigger tip by somebody's gas pay for somebody's groceries behind you or maybe even buy a coffee in line at Starbucks by the person behind their coffee even write a note or take your neighbor's trash cans out you could buy some flowers or text an old friend go through your old yearbook even and contact something on Facebook or through social media and this is what can happen when you leave that kind note for those kind words or do that. Nice deed they're going to say why would this. I just wanted by you at the church. Can you come to church with me or do you go to church and then if you want to die today where would you go or what is the meaning to life.
And then, why, and then preach and then get there spots. I challenge you less be active this week with the gospel using Hinduism and I promise it's going to go well but I want to wrap up with this I know for certain.
There are some people here today that aren't right with God that if I would ask you the major question of life.
If you were to die today where would you go you will probably not say I think I'm going to go to heaven you know if you're here today or you're watching and you're not right with God. You were made to know God have a relationship with him. That's why you exist.
This is the meaning to life. To know Jesus and what he's done for you.
This is what makes the your life complete. It's the missing puzzle piece to your life here like you will not find any satisfaction is life outside of Christ is already given opportunity to come to know Jesus and so pray for you and then extend this to you now. Let's pray Lord I thank you for everyone here today for hearing about what the gospel is this amazing message concerning Jesus and what he's accomplished in and also now this urgency to go share it. God, I pray that you would give us what we need and provide opportunities to share the good news this week, but Lord, I know there's someone in here today someone watching the doesn't know you and I pray in this moment, you would open their eyes to see their great need for you with her head bowed, her eyes closed. If you're here listening and you're not right with God. If you were to die today. You're not confident you go to heaven you would like your sins forgiven you like to go to heaven when you die you like to be confident that your and spend the rest of eternity with the Lord in heaven that I would give you an opportunity get right with him if that's you today you again would like to write the Lord, would you let your hand in the air so I could pray for you to civilly lift your hand in the air in this is you just recognizing I need to get right with God today. God bless you hands going up in the balcony in the back, you're not alone, raising your hand in this moment.
Again you would like to get right with the Lord today and you were invited by a friend or maybe you just stumbled in a church you been here for a while and you're like today's.
Today I need to get right with God, letterhead, and they are so I can pray for you and maybe there's another group of people where you got away from the Lord. Your life is wild taken a detour. But this morning you're finding yourself a spot going I need to hit the reset button. I need to get back right with Jesus is that you would you let your hand in the air so I could pray for you as well. God bless you and you made your like Anton or that girl that Jack-in-the-Box you don't know what you would like to have this relationship with Jesus letterhead in the air now so I could pray for you. God bless you for that or just raise your hand on the lead you to prayer.
Now to get right with Jesus Christ.
Would you pray this in mean this in your heart, as I pray would you speak to the Lord focus here and talk to him and him and give you the words to pray.
It's here Jesus I ask you to come into my life. I believe you died for me and that you were raised from the dead. Jesus, thank you for all that you've done Jesus. Would you be my God, be my Savior be my best friend helped me follow you for the rest of my life.
It's in Jesus name I pray a man amen to all of you that just prayed
