Hour number two. Devontae Adams is on the block, folks. People are going crazy.

Right now, people are going absolutely crazy. Every head coach in the National Football League who might be, everybody thinks is in on Devontae Adams or should be on Devontae Adams is being asked about him today. He's on another team.

They can't comment about another player on another team despite the reports saying he wants out and yet they're being asked about it. So, it's very simple. To everybody out there wondering who's in on him or who should be on him, we have a board. We created it and we put it up on the screen before.

If you guys in our control room don't mind, we break everything down for you here on our program. Honestly, everybody is talking about this guy right now. You know what I mean? And word is he has said he wants out, right?

Word is he said he wants out. But here it is. Here's your breakdown. The top five teams that should go get Devontae Adams.

Your team, one through five. And if you wanted one more, you know, because we always do that here on the program, you know. Do you think we need one more? All right, we'll get one more. Interesting that that line was delivered in Las Vegas, if I'm not mistaken.

Sure was. About wondering about one more. Your team. Your team.

When you said people are going crazy about Devontae, hi, it's me, I'm people. I'm going crazy. Rich, update from Diana Rossini. Yes. Ten minutes ago, she says my biggest takeaway from conversations with teams around the league, many involved or have checked in believe the Jets are the team that will get this trade done.

This doesn't help me. Well, I'll tell you what, speaking on behalf, how quickly can he get the London of the man who will be in the booth with a headset on calling the action of Jets versus Vikings with Kurt Warner? Can can he, you know, is his passport up ready? Yeah.

Here, coach. It's not a jay-felly situation. Is his passport ready?

His passport is ready to go and up to date. So just once again, is it, again, the language is people believe the Jets are going to be the ones to get it done, right? Correct. Okay.

Because that's what people are believing? Okay. Jane Slater, my colleague, who covers the Dallas Cowboys. Yeah, Jane knows things. She, well, you don't like what, you won't like what she knows.

Oh, Jane, come on now. I'm told the Cowboys aren't in on Adams, quote unquote, don't have the money. And more importantly, draft capital next year, more important than ever. Wow. Don't have the money. Oh, that hurts.

Well, if you look at spot track, you know, and fans will do that. There, there does appear to be enough to snag them. Yeah.

Over the cap too, has all the, has all the way to his cap space. This is frustrating. Okay. I'm frustrated.

You want to know, like how do you feel sometimes? And I tell you, I'm not mad. I'm mad. Let me tell you why I'm mad, son. Let me tell you why I'm mad because he's right there. He's right there for the taken. It's your damn act together. Second round pick we're 24 million under the cap. There's room look under the couch cushions.

You might be able to get him for three. Well, fine. Because I want to curse right now. You have the added benefit of being in the, in the, the, the proper conference.

Yeah. You know, the Raiders are going to want to send him elsewhere. So they don't see him more than just once in the next four years being, it is Vegas.

Dallas could be all in. Oh no. Apparently, apparently we're not all, you're not okay. It's just something to put on t-shirts and give false hope. I got no hope. I don't know that.

Yeah. And then you hear other reports saying they are interested and they have checked in, right? Well, you guys, I wonder what is the check-in process? You have to, you have to leave your credit card for incidentals. You have to, you have to give Mark Davis your credit card for incidentals.

Just in case you want to take something from the mini bar while, while staying and the check-in process. If you want to, if it's going to take a while. Sure. You know, a Toblerone Toblerone.

If it's highfalutin, checking in, checking in. So is it, is the report true to Tom Tolesco calling him up? Is the report true, Tom?

Oh yeah, it is. Okay. Well, when are you going to train? I don't know. Well, just, you know, you got my number.

Let me know. Cause Aaron Rogers would love to play with him again. And what better way to, you know, show Garrett Wilson, this is where I would like the route to be broken off.

And this is where you should turn your head when I'm flipping it down the middle and we're needing to gain some yards in a Jersey rain to try and beat the Broncos. And you know, who better to know the hand signals? Who better to give Rogers his best shot at cashing in for another trophy in his dwindling window that we're assuming is dwindling.

Who knows? He looks pretty damn good. As long as he's not sacked five times.

Yeah. Diana also saying the Steelers interested. The Steelers are interested. Now, unfortunately, Mike Tomlin's spoken this week. Cause that would be great. Let's ask Mike about somebody else and somebody else's roster.

Which would you, which quarterback would throw to him best? Do you think? Mike? See you know, here we go.

Coach is going to be able to answer these questions today. He's on another team. Apparently McCarthy spoke about, you know, Devontae as a human. You know, he, I remember Devontae, you know, but it would be good to get him. Cause we have Salah, we have here's here's Robert Salah being asked about him.

Oh, hit it. We're going to focus on the guys that are here because he can't answer it. And plus if he says anything, then it's just like, so you, you don't believe in Garrett. You don't believe in Mike Williams.

You don't believe. I mean, Mike McCarthy said, here's it. Cause again, thank goodness. I love our LA news desk at NFL network. Jane Slater tweeted out. He won't go into specifics about Brandon cooks. Who's out this week. Love our practice squad guys.

When discussing options, he said, love our practice. You're talking about people going nuts. The cheetahs chime in and woke up to trade news. Exciting.

Oh, is he talking about himself? Definitely not. Odell, Odell starting practice there now. Okay. There you go.

We just need the trigger man is all you need. He's throwing the football week eight to a back. Get ready. Cause Miami's gotten new England and then a buy and then at Indiana and the Indian I'll be right week eight, Arizona question is, is will they, will they be one in six by then?

Oh, it's not looking good. Right. Yeah. Or I guess they're one in three, one in five is what I'm saying. One in five. Yeah.

But Tyreek, Hey man, he's, he's looking there and he's like, what would, what would waddle cough up 17? I don't know. Doubt it.

But the Vonta is an OG. You know, I mean like he is, he's got some cash. People are losing their minds, but don't worry. You, you got some good practice squad players. Again, people losing their minds.

Hi, it's me. I'm people cat gets traded. Lakers announced. We've got some new trainers. Uh, Devonta Adams on the block. Cowboys love our practice squad guys. I don't care.

This is baseball season for me right now. Okay. Come on now.

Yeah. Listen, Dallas may or may not be in on Devonta Adams. He can't be bothered.

Brandon Nimmo is at the plate. That's right. I, you know, that owner in New York has never said the words that we can't afford him. That guy will never get the job done, man.

He'll look for money in his banana stand and find the money. Now I got it. Don't worry. I just don't have the capacity to care so much about a team that doesn't seem like they want to win.

I got to push all my chips on a team that wants to win the metropolitan. What's and here's the other question here is Chris Jones is about to join us. Apparently.

Why has it not worked with Devonta Adams in Vegas? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't in Vegas.

What, what, where did this go south? The best friend got rid of him. I understand that. Quarterback. Yeah. Wouldn't that make you upset? I am aware of that, but Antonio Pierce had nothing to do with that.

That's true. Guys, look up his numbers. Cause I look up his numbers. Devonta Adams week two in Baltimore, right? Yeah. He's been pretty good. I mean, you don't have to go high register look up his numbers week two in both nine catches 110 yards.

Okay. He's still got it. Gardner.

So like, come on, you're two and two. Why are you coughing up Devonta Adams? Something, what happened behind the scenes?

What's going on? Right. Is he one of the guys who made a business decision? Right. Antonio Pierce's mind.

I'm serious. Like these are the questions you have to ask. And then, you know, even if an intern or somebody liked the post of Michael Fabiano opining that Devonta Adams is not going to take another snap for the Raiders. And then he unlikes it. You don't, you don't reach out to Devonta. You don't talk to him. You call him 17 when his name's mentioned.

That's weird. You know, man, Devonta Adams, holy smokes on the market who wants some. And I'll tell you this, man. This keeps going on like this jets. Don't get him. There will be, um, uh, blood on the airwaves, figuratively, obviously in New York city.

But I mean, somebody going to cough up a one that would, that, that would hit the buy it now button. Certainly if the Raiders are going to slow play it, we'll take a break. I'm told Chris Jones is going to join us afterwards during the break.

I'm going to go to our green room and ask Bruce Feldman if he doesn't mind cooling his jets for a minute. Let's talk LinkedIn people and small business owning. I'm a small business owner.

Okay. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it, please.

Pay that man his money. Thank you. Envelope 1345. You chose two the other day. Four.

Four. Thank you. Thank you. All right. Closest without going over. Here we go.

Residual rich. I love doing this. My mom gave me a letter opener years ago. Yeah, exactly. It's over there somewhere. Okay. I remember that. All right.

This is for Leatherheads. Oh, that you got cut out of. Excuse me. Sorry. I did a voiceover, and then I did the voiceover, and George Clooney and Grant Heslov decided I sounded too much like me.

Oh. And it wasn't old timey enough, which is weird. They still, you know. It's weird because they hired you.

Listen, they gave it a whirl. It was very nice of them to even consider me. But the check's now in. What do you have? All right.

I'm going to go where the players dwell rich. $1.12. $1.12.

DJ Mikey D is in D's nuts. Five. Five dollars. Five what? Five cents or dollars. Yeah. I assumed dollars.

T.J. Jefferson. I'm going to go $2.13, Bob. Right.

Here we go. $2.13. $1.12. And five. And the actual retail check is $9.70.

Thanks, George and Grant. Yes. Oh, how about that? Nine bucks. It helps when you're buying Starbucks. For something I never was in. Get a drink at the airport.

No, probably not. That's a water. That's a water. Excuse me. A small water. Small water.

I'm not paying for it. Come on. It's first class lounge. Come on. Oh, he's getting chunky.

We're C's, too, buddy. Oh, come on, guys. Oh, yeah. And I got to get to sleep, too. Oh, it's going to be. He's getting chunky chip cookies and warm nuts. Wow. It's going to be great. Back on the Rich Eisen Show radio network, sitting at the Rich Eisen Show desk, furnished by Grainger.

I would like to see Chris in it. That would be wonderful. Can we open up another check? All right.

I see nothing. Yeah. A present. You got another check, Rich? I do. I've got another residual check. You want to do one more? One more?

Bonus? We'll do one more and then we'll take another phone call after that. Go ahead and hit it while we're past the time. You got one more residual, Rich? Let's go ahead. Let's go ahead and hit it. Mike, roll it, roll it, roll it.

Play that man his money. Thank you for rolling with the punches back in our control room. One, three, and five. Envelope one, three, and five. Mike, it's your choice.

One. Okay, here we go. Usually we do this on the TV side of things. So if the radio audience would be like, what are you doing? I get residual checks from SAG-AFTRA on one of the many TV or movies I've appeared in in my career.

And it's not really, we're not dining out very much. This one is for winning time. Winning time checks have been coming in fast and furious lately. Here it comes. KTV of winning time. The one time I did a winning time. Chris, these were higher than normal, right?

Yeah, he's got it. I'm not telling you that. What are you on? Rich, did you find overseas?

I'm guessing you're on a big jet. Let's go $7.67. Interesting for that sort of methodology. I think this is going to be because it's recent. I say $15. $15.

TJ Jefferson, who's actually won on the prices, right? Something, a nice parting gift. You said something. I'll say one in quotes. $15. I'm going to say $9.45, Rich. Save $7.67, $15 and $9.45. Price is right, rules closest without going over.

And the winner is Chris Brockman. $8.05, $8.05. Put it together with my check I just opened for Leatherheads.

That, you know, about 15 quid when I, uh, when I, you know, convert it. Okay, we passed the time successfully. Five minutes. Look who's joining us right now. The AFC defensive player of the week.

Folks of the 4-0 Kansas City Chiefs. Chris Jones is here under a judge. How you doing, Chris? Good to see you. Rich, I'm going fantastic. How are you? I'm doing fine.

Do you need a second? It seems like you were just coming off a field. You're going here, you're going there.

And then we just plopped you down. Are you, are you good? You're good to go? Yeah, I'm good, man.

I'm doing some sprints, cardio. What is that? Literally what you just did? Yeah. Yeah. Ooh.

Okay. What is, what, what, what, what's the process? You're on a, you're on a, one of the, you're on a treadmill or something like that? What, what'd you do?

I don't know. We was in the inside turf field today. Usually I have to get the, it's like the off day today since we play on Monday. So we come in, watch a little film. This is the day I usually get my cardio.

I had to give me a couple of sprints in for, to flush everything after the game out. Okay. This is, today's your cardio day. Yeah.

Oh, I need just, I need one of those a week too, but I can't afford that. I'm 55, Chris. You know what I mean? I don't believe you.

You look pretty good to be 55 with overage. Thank you. You know what? You passed the eye test too, sir.

The way I was there in SoFi, I watched it. Your two sacks, both on third downs, defensive player of the week. I was stunned to hear that you haven't won it in three years, Chris. That's unbelievable. Did you know that?

I didn't even know that. It just goes to show you how competitive this league is, man. It's so hard to win a week in and a week out. We got guys that step up and do outstanding things. So, you know, it's an honor to finally win it after three years, man. How do you maintain the standard on behalf of not just yourself, but your teammates, Chris?

How do you go about that? I think it's a culture theme within our culture. I think we have a standard for coaches in our team. A standard for coaches, individuals, and also players. We have to hold accountable each day. And I think it's about getting one percent better each day. And then we challenge each other. Whether it's on the practice field or the meeting rooms and to get better.

So I think we hold ourself accountable and we continue to build off of that. Well, I don't want you to name names you wouldn't anyway. But have you, in your tenure with the Chiefs, pulled somebody aside and say, that's not the way we do it here?

Have you ever felt compelled you had to do something like that? I mean, we had talks. I mean, you know, usually younger guys trying to figure out how to do things, more so just showing them the way, showing them how it's usually done here. Or a new guy coming on a team, not understanding how this organization operates. I think pulling them aside and showing them that, hey, like something simple as we don't wear black cleats. You know what I mean? It's simple, but this organization kind of has its little things that we follow by that sometimes players don't know. Why is that?

Why don't they, why don't you wear those? Listen, I don't know. I just work here. Chris, you don't just work there. You dominate there, Chris. Come on now.

You know what I mean? Like you've set a significant standard here and that's where I'm kind of hunting and pecking here on this part of our conversation is that, you know, everybody assumes Mahomes has got to set the standard or Kelsey does or Reed does. I'm wondering if you view yourself as the quarterback of the defense, that this is the side of the ball that everybody looks to you as a defensive player of the year type guy to set a standard. I think I have a huge responsibility on this team and also this defense.

I owe myself to a high regard as in setting the example of how to lead. You know, I actually enjoy those moments when it comes to whether it's fourth down, whether it's a critical situation. I trained throughout the off season for those moments.

So when they come, it's more so natural for me. And I enjoy being in a position, you know, I listen to a lot of Kobe Bryant and he just talked about certain moments you view certain things and certain moments you can kind of the part what it is to pick what it is and you kind of get an extra boost of energy. You know, Kobe talk about the fourth quarter for me. I try to associate the fourth quarter with like the third down, the fourth downs, critical situations where that mumble mentality coming about for me. So like, say, overtime in a Super Bowl, your opponent is inside a ten third down. That type of moment is what you're saying, Chris.

Exactly. Those type of moments right there is like live or die. So that might be your last play of the season. So, you know, I prepare for all season. All season, you know, I kind of push myself over the edge and then training camp. We do a lot of long drive situational down. So I think within the organization, it's kind of helped me prepare for those moments also, because Coach Reed throughout the year, we still do situations where there's fourth down, where there's two minute situation and the game kind of help us prepare for when we get in the game, we kind of know where we're getting, but also be mentally prepared for how we will want to approach it. Are you going against Mahomes in those situations, Chris? In those training camp I am.

You know what? We actually are. So that's the only time where the starting defense in the season goes against the starting offense's situation, whether it's two minutes or end of game situation. And I'm imagining Mahomes doesn't want to lose in that situation, right?

Correct? Yeah, we get his best shot. We get his best shot. And, you know, it's more so an Andy against Spags type of thing, you know, in the house. I don't think they'll meet it out loud, but they drop their best play.

Spags drop his best play and then we go at it. Iron sharping iron, in other words, is what you're saying. I love that. And certainly you got to have that edge if you're going for a third in a row, right?

I mean, the been there, done that mentality can. Creep in and I'm wondering, do you? I asked this of Travis before the season began. Do you openly talk about a three-peat?

Chris Jones? No, not at all. Not at all. It's just so far-fetched and you got to get through the division and not only the AFC West, you got to get through the AFC. So much adversity can come about. So I think more so for us, it's about the smaller goals of winning the AFC West. That's the first thing we can do. We win the AFC West. We can put ourselves in a position to be in the playoffs. And then we can think about the AFC, where are we at in the AFC? And then we can think about winning the AFC Championship. You win that, then you can think about the three people. It's just so far-fetched and so far away, man. So you got to I think you can focus on the smaller goals.

If you're able to hit those, you'll be where you want to be. No, I mean, that makes complete sense. But I guess from a fan point of view or from a point of view, while I'm a fan, just as I am talking about this sport, Chris, it just sounds, I'll be honest, far-fetched that it doesn't creep in your mind the legacy that would be put on the table. I mean, you want to win Defensive Player of the Year awards.

I know that. And you deserve to in your career. If certainly this year would be a great one, you're off to a great start for that. But I'm imagining you're at some point thinking about Canton, Ohio, because you're certainly on a path for that. A three-peat would help cement all that sort of stuff.

That's why I ask. Yeah, you know, that's why I play the game for it, to leave it better than I came in. And also to be one of the best, you know, personal accolades is amazing. You know, winning the Defensive Player of the Year, that'll be everything for me. But I think most importantly, win another Super Bowl, man.

You can't get that feeling anywhere else, but till you get there and win it. And I think that's most important what we're trying to do right now. I think that's the ultimate goal as a team, as individuals. I think you can sense it around the building, but it's not something we just openly talk about because we have so much going on that, like, you can get distracted so easy by everything that's going on. We just don't talk about it.

But I think it's definitely the ultimate goal of this team. Chris Jones here, a few minutes left with the Defensive Player of the Week in the AFC and truly one of the best at his position in the National Football League here on the Rich Eisen Show in advance of the Saints. And in terms of just, again, your mental approach, I just want to circle back to what you said before about how you study Kobe. What do you mean?

You listen to YouTube, you listen to podcasts, interviews. What do you mean by that? A little bit of it all, watch Kobe Bryant.

I like this approach to the game. Like, for example, Kobe, I think he went seven out of 28, and he was mad on the bench. And his trainer was like, Kobe wasn't mad that he missed it. He was mad because he was trying to figure out why he missed. And that's more so I am like, why didn't I get a sack or why didn't I make that play?

You know what I mean? So I'm always listening to Kobe before and after games to critique my mental aspect of the game and just for inspiration also. So in that play that I did reference with you before, the overtime play in the Super Bowl, Niners are right on the doorstep and you get them off the field with that. I mean, you were right in Brock Purdy's lap right after the snap. Were you thinking about Kobe pre-snap? Did that actually hit your mind, Chris?

Crazy thing about it, Rich. I was on the sideline to play before that. I was deadbeat tired. And Andy Reid looked at me and was like, we need you to go in. And during that moment, I had like a Kobe moment. I was like, Kobe was like, rest later. Don't rest now.

Rest when you're done with the process. And I'm like, I got to do it. And that's how you got in?

Why you got in? Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah, it was a Kobe game. Wow, that's amazing, man. It really is.

And it's just, it's just, again, a testament of how difficult it is sometimes to dig deep and what you need to think of here. And plus, Reid comes up to you. He's kind of like, what are you doing standing over here, huh? Get out. We need you out there. Yeah, what I'm going to say, no, Coach, I'm tired. That's right, it's the Super Bowl. Yeah, you know what I mean?

So a lot of interpersonal conversations within yourself, doing a lot of keeping you throughout the game. So before I let you go, the challenge, look at that right there. That's one of those moments in the Super Bowl. And, you know, obviously you're going against some, some pretty big fellows up there, including at one point, I imagine, I know you're in the middle of Trent Williams and you might, might have crossed paths at one point, right?

Or two. Yeah, much respect to him and how he's been a pillar, not only offensive tackles, but the San Francisco 49ers office a lot, you know, so much respect for the guy and how he's still operating at a high level at this age. You know, that's a testament to his preparation, his dedication to the game.

So the challenge taking on the Saints, 41, is that what you're talking about? You know, we've seen him on film this week, circling Alvin Kamara, Chris. Yeah, he's very dynamic. And also Derek Carr, you know, Derek Carr played us for multiple years, twice a year.

Been in this division. So he kind of knows us better than anyone. So it's, it's going to be a challenge to affect him because you've seen it all. He's played us multiple times. He knows what we like, know what stands out. So this defense, but also Alvin, what he's been doing these past four games is astronomical.

So trying to slow him down, at least affect him. Okay. Before I let you go, I always like giving my guests the opportunity to address a narrative from my business. The narrative forming, despite the Chiefs having won two in a row, including last year when things didn't look all that great towards the end of the season, you did it anyway. Now, even at 4-0, Rashid Rice, we're waiting to hear what's going on with him. Pacheco is out and we're wondering where the Chiefs are going to find the ability to just keep on keeping on and win it again this year. And I'm wondering how you address that narrative right now that the Chiefs can get got once again. Well, narratives are like opinions, man. We all got them.

They all stink, right? I think more so for us, we kind of block out all the extra noise and focus on what we can control. What we can control is the individuals in the building, what we have available to play and prepare them for their best. And how do you come up constantly with the ability to close this last week is a perfect example in a game where obviously Xavier Worthy goes up top, you flip the script right then and there, and then you score 17 unanswered to win it.

You come up with two sacks on third downs, win a Defensive Player of the Week award. How does your team constantly come up with a way to close in a league where we see so many teams trouble closing, Chris? I think it's a testament to the preparation, starting with the coaches, preparing us throughout the week. We're understanding that we're going to face a lot of adversity, whether we're going up 10, whether we're down 10, staying together during those moments and also relying on our technique and preparation that we prepare throughout the week. And eventually we find a way to succeed.

So as coaches and players buying into the preparation throughout the week and sticking to it. Does a real Stone Cold know that you call yourself Stone Cold, Chris? You know what? Yeah, I kind of had a run in with the WWE about that name. So yeah, they know like a legal run in or cease and desist.

Yeah, like a legal run in. But thanks to the WWE, I came out with these sodas that I was selling. And it was in fragment because of the name and they let me continue to sell it. I was using Stone Cold name.

So shout out to WWE. Okay, very good, Chris. And listen, I really appreciate your time and congrats on winning the Defensive Player of the Week award.

I know that that's just a small resume builder for a Defensive Player of the Year candidate and also a guy who's on a path to the Hall of Fame with a bunch of rings on your fingers. I really appreciate the time, Chris. Rich, it's always a pleasure.

Thank you for the kind words. They are true. And listen, one last pushback. I know a lot of people have opinions and they stink.

I don't think mine stink, to be honest with you. You know, you know what I mean? We appreciate it, man. We take them all with stride, man. The good and the bad. And with the bad, we're able to build off of it and the good.

We take it with a grain of salt and we understand. We keep pushing, man. So thank you so much. I appreciate that.

And I feel like you sacked me without putting your entire body weight on me. So thank you for that, Chris. Appreciate it. Chris, I appreciate you, man. You take care.

That's Chris Jones, everybody, right here on the Rich Eisen Show, taking off, getting set to take on six. He let me down gently. It's nice of him. All right, let's take a break.

That was fun. How about that? Kobe. Cool.

Not great. He's thinking Kobe. Bruce.

I mean, Bruce is about to come out, but he's thinking Kobe. Right. Crazy. And he reads like, hey, get out there. And he's telling me to get out there. Yeah. Oh, that's the Brock Purdy wishes. You've stayed tired. Eight, four, four, two or four. Rich number to dial. Tyron Matthew coming up.

Fair and balanced. But Bruce Feldman coming out in a second. Hey, people, let's talk about leaf filter. It's that time of year where the leaves fall down off the trees and right into your gutters. Last minute tickets, lowest price guaranteed. Back here, Bruce Feldman is here, everybody. Round of applause for Bruce.

Bruce. Where are you going this week? Happy Valley. Happy Valley.

Hey, TJ. He's going to the East Coast. I'm going to have to catch a ride with you, Bruce. Go home. You can do that. It's going to be a long trip for us if you do.

But you're welcome. That's the thing. Because I remember when Suzy did sideline reporting for ABC, there were no direct flights anywhere she was going ever.

No. And there used to be direct flights to Columbus. Columbus is actually harder to get to now from LA than it was maybe five years ago. Penn State's always been a rough trip. But the fans are really passionate there.

You always get a great turnout. So we'll see. Were they playing UCLA? They're playing UCLA.

And the Bruins are really, really struggling, as though two folk can attest. Why would he be able to attest to that? Because I did the game.

Yeah, but Bruce, he doesn't pay attention to those games. Was that in your book? That's in the book. Show me right now. Show me. He doesn't want to show you his book. Sorry to drag you into the game's going on. He's in the back smoking a pack of Newports.

What do you like? No, no, no, no. Is that because he worked the faders for tons of baseball games this year. So I wanted to get an accounting of which teams he worked the faders for and figure out those teams that made the playoffs, what their win loss record was when Mike worked the faders for those games. So we could come up with a rich eyes and show estimate as to who might win the World Series based on Mike's win loss record.

Yeah. And he's just like, I asked him if there was a book where he accounted all for this stuff. He said there is because he's writing a book on his career one day. OK. And then we say, well, where's the book?

He said there is no book. So now you get it. You know what I mean?

Frustration. There's a woman out there somewhere that's a big fan of his winning smile. That I remember. That is correct. Oh, yes. Big toothy grin.

MDT. I see again, like a like a grandma's email. All caps back on the Rich Eisen Show, everybody. Bruce Feldman here from Fox Sports and the Athletic. That Georgia Alabama game was truly one of the instant classics where in and our friend Chris Fowler had more points scored in two snaps over 13 seconds in the fourth quarter than he saw an entire half calling Titans and Dolphins on Monday night.

Seriously, that was unbelievable. That kid, that 17 year old kid is something else. Yeah, he's dynamite. This is a great year for freshman receivers. You got J.J. Smith at Ohio State, who is supposed to be all world.

And he's been that. I mean, that one handed grab they made against Michigan State. Remarkable. Didn't break stride to two. You made two one handed grabs, but the one for a touchdown.

Yeah, it's unbelievable. And then, you know, Ryan Williams is just so dynamic. We had him a couple of weeks ago at Wisconsin. He scored the first touchdown. I mean, he is so fast.

He's such a good route runner. And you see the moves he made. I mean, the thing that really impressed me most was this game gets really tight. It feels like Georgia's taken completely over. There's a part where he's back for a kickoff and there's indecision between he and the other return guy.

And it ends up kind of, you know, biting the crimson tie in the butt. They get the ball like they're three yard line. And then like, I don't know, five minutes later when they desperately need to play, he makes a huge play, makes a great adjustment on the ball, then beats two guys down the sideline and they score. I mean, it's insane how good he is. He really is supposed to be a high school senior right now.

I can't imagine. We were talking about it the other day that what some 15 year old kid is going to have to some sophomore or junior might have to cover him if he was in high school right now. That's insane that that kid would be in high school right now. Yeah, that's crazy. He's the move he made to make both Georgia defenders collide into each other. Then he moves in after the movie made to catch it.

That really was pretty special. Milro looks so much better now than he did last year, right? Is that is that just a maturity or a Kalen DeBoer effect? I think it's both.

It's easy to say both. But like what you see is I mean, he hits top speed and we saw this last year crazy fast. And then he's physically a big guy. I don't know people realize how strong he is. I mean, he does look like a running back physically when you see him in person. He throws a really good deep ball. He's got a really strong arm.

I just think there's some polish and different things that now we're seeing that he is maturing before our eyes. And DeBoer is really good. I mean, if there's anybody who is like, I don't know who this guy is. He won a bunch of games and national titles at NAIA level somewhere, which was Sioux Falls. Not like it's on anybody in major college football's radar. And he wasn't at Washington that long. He was at Fresno, did well, was at Washington, did great.

He gets here. And I think for a lot of people who are like, ah, how's it going to work in the SEC? You sit there and look, they were so primed. They jumped all over Georgia in that game.

And I think you don't do that if your coaching staff isn't really dialed in and has them playing loose and confident. And he gets that. And he's five and one all time against top 10 opponents.

I think he's like 14 and two against top 25 opponents in his career. I mean, he just has a great feel for things. And I think you see this, like the offense is different. Now, look, Ryan Grubb, who's now the Seahawks OC. He was the guy running the show last year at Washington.

They had three terrific receivers and obviously Michael Penix Jr., who is an elite passer. And I'm not saying Jaylin's not, but Jaylin's different. And I think the offense is different. But they're fun to watch.

They really are. And I'm excited to see what, you know, you look at the SEC right now, you know, Georgia struggled with Kentucky and obviously they lose this game. I wouldn't write them off. You have Ole Miss, who we thought was really good because they were just crushing everybody, but they finally play a decent team, you know, and they get Kentucky, but it's in Oxford and they don't look good at all. I mean, their offense doesn't look good. I mean, I think Tennessee's really good. I definitely feel that way about Texas, but now you're sitting there going, oh, the SEC's a little more wide open maybe than, I don't know, I think we thought it was wide open. It's just, it's probably not quite what we thought it was a week ago. I mean, for Alabama to perform the way it did in that big game with their new coach and Nick sitting up, you know, in the, in the suite, you know, picking games with Ms. Terry, you know, on ESPN before, and I know I'm talking about your competition, but I mean, but it really had to be an immense amount of pressure that he doesn't seem to show.

You know what I mean? He doesn't, you know, we had him on and he just, it's just okay. That's him.

It's crazy. Like, so Chris Peterson and I work with a Fox, you know, brilliant guy, former Washington coach. We had this conversation, he and I, a couple of times, but one in particular, he talked about when Kalen got the job at Washington and there's some similarities between the two guys in that, you know, Chris had been wildly successful at Boise State and, and was like the big trick play guy. And he always, you know, he always coached loose. And then he got to Washington and he said, over time, you know, the pressure, it's almost like everything crowds you, you aren't the same guy. And he said, that's going to be hard for Kalen to be that way. And he was like, in his interactions with him, he was like very specific on certain details and he was like, yeah, he's, he was like, you can't stay, you're going to change.

It's just like that happened. And so far, again, I'm not with him every day, but even my, you know, my limited interaction with him, I'm like, seems like the same guy. Seems like the same guy. And he's, I think he's been really, really smart about, he's taken some of the best things that Nick Saban had culture-wise and some of the key pieces around him, whether it's Jeff Allen, who's the, you know, the right-hand guy who was the strength coach and Ginger Gilmore, these are people behind the scenes, or it's just very masterful. I'm not saying they're going to win, you know, match Nick Saban's run of national titles, but that was, that so far, it's way early, is looking like a brilliant hire by Greg Byrne to get him from Washington in a place where he's never been and looks like it's pretty seamless.

So he's five and one against top 10 opponents. Who's the one that you lost? I think there's a rematch of those two teams. Oh, that's right.

Coming up this weekend. But that coach is now in the NFL. Moving on. I know that.

Across the street. So Texas, normally it would be a conversation like, do you think Alabama should be number one in Texas or not? Who cares, right? At this point in time in this now 12 team playoff world, it is Quinn Ewer's job again, right? He's back practicing today for Texas. They're on a buy with the two new SEC teams having at it on the other side. Oklahoma next week.

That's always an interesting game because wild stuff happens in it. You know, again, I know we talked about this last week. It's a good couple of weeks for Arch. It wasn't flawless. I think at one point he said he gave himself like a C plus or a C grade in his first game. He was sharper last week and his stats would have been even better.

There was like a perfect pass on what would have been a long touchdown that was dropped by one of his receivers. I mean, again, I said this before, this is the best quarterback situation anybody has in college football right now. You have an established guy who's played a lot of football who has continued to get better in yours. And then you have a backup who's extremely talented, very bright, and also has the support system around him that he doesn't need to do anything like rash or bolt or to get, I got to get mine now kind of thing.

So he can keep blossoming and developing. We've seen that. So great situation they have. They obviously have a really good old line and they have a deep group of receivers. You know, it doesn't mean they're going to win a national title this year, but they certainly have it.

They certainly have horses to do it in the few minutes. I have left with you here. Bruce Feldman on the Rich Eisen show. Travis Hunter is a unicorn man. I've never seen any body like him. I've never seen the, um, and even if you do see somebody play as many snaps that he does, the excellence on every snap and game change ability that he could come up with on every snap is it's second to none. And is he a Heisman favorite that the guy over all quarterbacks, you think so? If, if they gave it out right now, he would definitely get my vote. And I think he would, I think he would win it, um, you know, the only guy who had ever played a high vol number of snaps like this at a pretty high level was Chris Gamble from Ohio state. You know, we had, I remember doing a story back when I was at ESPN magazine of a, of a similar Travis Hunter like numbers. The difference to me is he is, Travis is doing at an incredibly high level and he's making, you know, game-changing plays, you know, late in the game in the second half, whether it's the diving pick last week where it looks like he comes away from like eight yards off the ball or from where it is close.

Oh my God, it's breathtaking. His instincts, his closing speed, like, you know, we had a Fox had Charles Woodson, you know, another guy who knows how to play a lot of snaps. I mean, and Charles is a big man. It's not like Charles is like small corner.

Like, um, one of the greatest players who's ever played the game, you know, he sat down with him last week. Charles wasn't doing the same volume of play, you know, like he was, I say, I don't want to say he's dabbling on offense, but it wasn't like, no, not even close. This guy's running routes. He's running routes.

Travis is probably going to have a 1200 yard receiving season. Unbelievable. It's true. It's like an Otani. I'm serious.

It looks, it looks like, you know, an Otani at, at any football in cleats the way you look. And I understand I'm talking about, you know, a professional baseball player or whatever, but the analogy is somebody who's really good at one thing and then is just as good at another thing. Somebody who's great at one thing, somebody who's great at one thing.

Yeah. You know, again, you can take Champ Bailey, phenomenal player. You can take Charles, phenomenal player. I mean, these are, these are generational players. Certainly Dion, Dion, you know, Dion didn't play as much as he can come. He called himself a five down player.

He can call himself whatever he wants. I mean, he's a legendary player, right? It was a great, it was a great game too for them. Colorado, right? This was, yeah. So I feel like we're shortchanging this and even Travis, by not pointing out, this was to me the best win Dion has had since he's been at Colorado. They were, they were good on defense. This was the best running game in the country.

Statistically, they didn't shut it down entirely, but they held it to like a, you know, less than half of what they normally get. UCF. UCF, yeah. With KJ Jeffersons, a physical, you know, you know, powerhouse quarterback who can run. They have three really good running backs. They have a good scheme for this and Gus Malzahn, you know, I think I, we talked about this a little bit a couple of weeks ago. One of the best hires Dion has made since he's been there was going to the Cincinnati season, Cincinnati Bengals off of Lou Anaromo's staff, hiring Robert Livingston.

Nobody else knew who he was. Spent a decade there, worked himself up from being a scout to the safeties coach. He has come in there similar to what Dan Lin has done in a short time in LA, relatively anonymous NFL assistant who hadn't been a coordinator and has killed it.

This is what this guy's done. They were horrible on defense. They're pretty respectable and they're also much better in the second half. They're not even giving up like a touchdown a game in the second half. So it seems like they're making smart adjustments. The players are buying in. And it helps to have a running game to keep your defense off the field too.

That was a very balanced attack. We saw it at Colorado and they were committed to it. And I think, again, this was a team that was a two touchdown underdog and one by almost four touchdowns on the road, on the road in a, in a place that's not easy to play. Again, they're four and one, like if C.U. would go as five and seven, which I don't think they will, I think it will be much better than that. Look, you know, not to pat myself on the back because I've got enough predictions wrong, but I thought this would be a bowl team.

And I think they were, people were looking at them in the second half of the year as opposed to, okay, they're going to build off this. And if they win eight games, he's going to be hard to beat for the Heisman because he is a generational talent doing, as you said, unicorn stuff, nobody's playing the number of plays he's playing. There's, you know, look, Jellyn Monroe looked great last week. There's certainly guys who can break through. But again, you know, no knock on a Cam Ward, the quarterback of Miami, whoever, like we see quarterbacks have terrific seasons and win Heisman's.

We're not seeing anybody doing what that guy's doing. He's unbelievable. Thanks for the time, Bruce. Be happy in Happy Valley, safe journey. May your connections be swift on your way. College, Bruce.

That's how you get there. There you go. Bruce Feldman here. Tyron Matthew in our number three coming right up in the minute.

Plus I have left here. I've got Greg Sankey. So what should I ask him? What would you like to know from Greg Sankey? I would be curious if he would, you know, you know, if you could get the truth serum on him is does he think that at some point it behooves the sport really to have a commissioner? And if he was the guy, he's got to be the guy. Let's put it that way.

What does he think needs to happen? You know, also the other thing I would ask him is we did a big story about this UNLV situation. Yeah. Like, by the way, they won without Matthew Slucher. They won going away.

The backup turned out to be it turned out to be even more impressive. But the question would be most of these schools are doing deals where the players can't get contracts until they're enrolled. Is there a sensible work around for this right now to protect these kind of these contracts can't be signed until they're a lot of these schools say they can work out that. Can they hammer out the language before they sign? Sure.

But they're not signed until there could be in the case of Slucher, you know, like he didn't get committed in January and get there till June. OK, so is there a work around? OK, very good.

Or what does he think the work around needs to be? OK, thank you for that. I greatly appreciate that.

Maybe I'll produce a show. You're making me better, sir. You always work together. Look, I'm grateful for you. You were great to us this weekend. Oh, it's great seeing your children out there, your boy, our team, the Snoop and Hoosh League, right? Yes.
