Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, it's common sense conservative commentary from Todd Starr. That's right. I love this American ride. And hello, America. Welcome to the Ton Cerns Radio Program.

So very happy to have you with us today. A lot going on around the world. By the way, write down our telephone number. You will need this. If you plan on calling into the program today, 901-260-5926.

That's 901-260-5926.

So it may be just me, but I get the inkling. That Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz is going to be voting for Donald J. Trump in the fall. After watching last night's disastrous debate for the Democrats. I get the sinking feeling that even Waltz isn't buying what Kamala is selling, or maybe Kamala is not progressive enough for Tampon Tim.

I don't know. But I just got the distinct impression last night that Waltz agreed with J.D. Vance far too much last night for him not to be a closet Trump supporter.

So, maybe Waltz will come out of the closet, politically speaking, of course. I don't know. I do not know, but we'll pay very close attention to that. Wow, did you watch the debate last night? What an incredible job that J.D.

Vance did. I will tell you, the biggest winner last night was Donald J. Trump, because what you saw on that stage, and I know that the vice presidential debates really don't amount too much, right? They really don't matter all that much. But I don't know about that.

Because last night, we got to see the very first decisions that the would be presidents made, right? We got to see Donald Trump's big choice was J. D. Vance. Kamala Harris's choice was Tim Waltz.

So, the question I have for you, ladies and gentlemen, God forbid Kamala Harris gets elected and then she's not able to fulfill her duties as the president, what the lady president, President, what do we call them? Madam President. If she's not able to fulfill her responsibilities, do you trust Tim Waltz to be the next president of these great United States? I mean, really? Even you Democrats out there.

I mean, let's come on now. Really?

So, all of the polling data last night, and we were sharing a lot of this in real time on the socials. It was not looking good for Tim Waltz. Nobody in America actually thought this guy won that debate line. There was not even close. J.D.

Vance provided a master class in how to handle not only his opponent, but also the disastrous anchorettes that were moderating last night's debate. That was and we're going to get into more of that a little bit later on in the program. That was appalling, their behavior last night.

Okay. And when they literally cut off J.D. Vance's microphone. They also said that they weren't going to fact check when, in fact, that's exactly what they did, but they only fact checked J.D. Vance.

They didn't fact check Tim Waltz at all, and Waltz was up there spewing all sorts of nonsense. All sorts of lies, but nobody, nobody challenged him. They only went after J.D. Vance. And even the folks over at CNN, the MSDNC, everybody's acknowledging.

Admitting that this guy lost. I mean, it really was that bad.

So, we're going to play a lot of audio from last night. One of the more weird parts of it was this Tiananmen Square story that's been circulating. And Tim Waltz got caught in a great big lie. What's interesting, though, is that Waltz and the story that he shared about being in Hong Kong, being at Tiananmen Square, was actually part of congressional testimony.

So, Tim Waltz actually admitted last night and inadvertently admitting that he lied. And he lied to Congress. Cut number three. Governor Walls. You said you were in Hong Kong during the deadly Tiananmen Square protests in the spring of 1989.

But Minnesota Public Radio and other media outlets are reporting that you actually didn't travel to Asia until August of that year. Can you explain that discrepancy? Yeah, well, and to the folks out there who didn't get at the top of this, look, I grew up in small rural Nebraska, a town of 400, a town that you rode your bike with your buddies till the streetlights come on, and I'm proud of that service. I joined the National Guard at 17, worked on family farms, and then I. Use the GI Bill to become a teacher, passionate about it, a young teacher.

My first year out, I got the opportunity in the summer of 89 to travel to China, 35 years ago, be able to do that. I came back home and then started a program to take young people there. We would take basketball teams, we would take baseball teams, we would take dancers, and we would go back and forth to China. The issue for that was to try and learn.

Now, look, my community knows who I am. They saw where I was at. Look, I will be the first to tell you, I have poured my heart into my community. I've tried to do the best I can, but I've not been perfect. And I'm a knucklehead at times, but it's always been about that.

Those same people elected me to Congress. Many times I will talk a lot. I will get caught up in the rhetoric. But being there, the impact it made, the difference it made in my life, I learned a lot about China. I hear the critiques of this.

I would make the case that Donald Trump should have come on one of those trips with us. I guarantee you he wouldn't be praising Xi Jinping about COVID. And I guarantee you he wouldn't start a trade war that he ends up losing.

So this is about trying to understand the world. It's about trying to do the best you can for your community. And then it's putting yourself out there and letting your folks understand what it is. My commitment, whether it be through teaching, which I was good at, or whether it was being a good soldier or was being a good member of Congress, those are the things that I think are the values that people care about. Governor, just to follow up on that, the question was: can you explain the discrepancy?

All I said on this was: I got there that summer and misspoke on this.

So I will just. That's what I've said.

So I was in Hong Kong and China during the democracy protests went in. And from that, I learned a lot of what needed to be in governance. Wow, that was a little awkward. By the way, did you catch that last part? He learned a lot about governance.

All right. Exactly who did you learn that from?

Well, Tim Waltz learned governance from the communist, from the Chinese communist.

So Tim Waltz is now admitting that he learned how to govern Based on the teachings of the communist. Let that sink in, ladies and gentlemen. But again, he says he misspoke. That was a lie, and it was a little awkward for all of us last night as he tried to wiggle and scream. And that's all this guy did.

It was as if he had like a little tiny, teeny, tiny little idol, pea-sized bladder, and he had to go pee-pee. I mean, he was like on one leg, on the next leg. He was shucking and jiving all over the place. That's all I got to say about that. Jeez a loo.

Anyway, I'm just telling you, They tell us that That vice presidential debates do not sway the voters. I'm not so sure about that. I thought that J.D. Vance's performance was not just vice presidential, it was presidential. I could literally see J.D.

Vance being President of the United States last night. That's what I saw emanating from my big, beautiful, huge television screen last night. And honestly, I would this is going to be terrible. I would love to see J.D. Vance actually debate Kamala Harris.

That's what I would love to see. I think he would wipe the floor with the VP. I really do. But but what I'm what I saw there, and I think what the American people saw last night, and especially this was really about independent voters and disgruntled Democrats, I I think that J.D. Vance won them over last night.

When you look at the CNN instant polling, and by the way, they oversampled Democrats by 5%. Vance still beat Tim Waltz, even though they oversampled Democrats by 5 percentage points last night. And the CNN, what did they call that? The instant poll took them three blasted hours to get the instant poll out for crying out loud.

So, anyway, I think this could very well impact. What happens on Election Day? Because a lot of people out there don't like Trump. They definitely don't like Kamala Harris, and they're looking for a reason to join Team Trump. J.D.

Vance gave them that reason last night. With his calm, cool demeanor, he was, and by the way, he was very gracious. With Tim Waltz, there was no name calling last night, none of that. And I'm telling you, J.D. Vance scored a massive victory for Team Trump last night.

Yeah. But I want to go back to 2008 because John McCain was on his way was on his way literally to the worst landslide defeat in American political history when he picked Sarah Palin as his running man. A lot of people said, oh, well, Sarah Palin. Caused McCain to lose to Barack Hussein Obama. I completely disagree.

Sarah Palin actually saved John McCain from an embarrassing, humiliating, devastating landslide loss. Sarah Palin. Actually, did went above and beyond. for that campaign. But it was doomed because, you know.

John McCain, not even really a Republican.

So, anyway, well done to JD Vance. And the way JD handled the anchorettes over at CBS News was really remarkable. You know, they turned off his microphone. He was actually making a point about Immigration that the CBS anchorettes, the lady anchors, got wrong. And J.D.

was actually in the process of correcting the women, and yet they got triggered and they literally turned off his microphone. You can't make this stuff up. It's just unbelievable.

So, we're going to be taking your calls on the debate. What did you think about J.D. Vance? Do you think this moves the needle one way or the other? Our telephone number, 901-260-5926.

That's 901-260-5926.

Hang tight, everybody. We'll be right back. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation honors our nation's greatest heroes, their sacrifices, and helps our nation to never forget. Mario Nelson was a special man who respected and loved America. Mario joined the National Guard after 9-11.

He volunteered to help with the recovery efforts at Ground Zero. Later, Mario and his wife had a daughter. Motivated by his nine eleven experience, he enlisted in the US Army surrounding Sergeant Mario Nelson later deployed to Iraq. Just two months shy of coming home, he was killed in action at the age of twenty-six. Thanks to the support of friends like you, the Tunnels to Towers Foundation delivered a mortgage-free home to Mario's wife and daughter.

In their darkest hours, that home brought them stability, peace of mind, and a place to call their own. Do good in honor of heroes like Mario, heroes who put their lives on the line for our country, our communities, and the freedoms we all enjoy. Donate eleven dollars a month to Tunnell to Towers at t two t dot org. That's T the number two T dot org. All right, one of the creepier moments, and I appreciate April from our Youngstown, Ohio radio affiliate, very important radio station to us.

April pointed out that Tim Waltz acknowledged that he is friends with school shooters. No, we're not making this up. You know what? Let's go to the tape. Cut 15.

Yeah, I sat in that office with those Sandy Hook parents. I've become friends with school shooters. I've seen it. Look, Yeah. All right, so the guy he likes to lurk around in the locker rooms at the school and uh he likes to hang out, pal around with school shooters.

Nothing weird about that. Let's go to the phone lines here at 901-260-5926. Mike in Portland, Maine, W-L-O-B, our great affiliate there. Hi, Mike. What's going on?

Well, Todd I'll tell you why he was so cool, calm, and collected last night. J D Vance. Look, a lot of people know that he served his time in the Marine Corps. But a lot of people don't know what he did in the Marine Corps. He had the Mo S military occupational specialty.

forty three oh two He was a public relations officer.

Okay. They have extensive training on how to deal with visiting congressional delegations. Plus The media.

Okay. So trust me, he's been down this road with the media. For years. That's why he's so good at what he does. Yeah, he did serve, and you're right, he did serve in public affairs during his time in the Marine Corps and was highly decorated for his military service.

Mike, I'm wondering, though, do you think it was also the fact that they had J.D. Vance out there? I think he's been doing press conferences and events every single day since he was named the running mate.

Meanwhile, Tim Waltz, they've kept him hidden in some sort of a dark closet somewhere. Yeah, with Pete Buddha Judge. Boy, there's a scary thought. I don't want to be in the closet with either one of those guys. Yeah, I know, I hear what you're talking about.

That's. Kind of weird, but yeah, I hear you. You know, it's interesting, Mike. When you said, did you watch much of the debate last night? Anybody?

Yeah. Mike, I got to tell you, I could have watched another hour. I really could have. It was fascinating to watch J.D. Vance handle both the Lady Anchorettes and Mr.

Waltz. Yeah. He's good at it and he's been trained to be good at it. Yeah. Yeah, he has.

I want to talk to you about something else. Real quick. I wonder if you've heard whether I have or not. Has the Biden administration invoked the Stafford Act yet Better disaster relief Emergency Assistance Act. They can bring in the military to assist down in North Carolina.

Now we've got Campaign June. We've got Cherry Point in Naval Air Station, and we have Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Let's go. What the hell are they waiting for? Mike, it's a great question, and I think we got a bad phone signal there.

You keep kind of cutting in and out there, but I yeah, we'll check on that. And we've got some updates, and we're going to be talking to some folks that are organizing volunteer efforts regarding the hurricane survivors and then trying to get to the victims of this. Mike, appreciate that call. Thank you. 901-260-5926 is our number.

That's 901-260-5926.

And that is going to be a big story, folks, moving forward. The response from the Biden administration to what happened in the southeastern states with this hurricane. The government response has been horrific. Absolutely horrific. Oh, by the way, here's ABC's Jonathan Carl.

Talking about Tim Waltz, cut eleven, please. You know, but but first, David, I I gotta say, I think that that Walls did seem unsteady. And frankly, what I saw in Walls is somebody who has not faced questions on a national stage since he became the Democratic nominee. He was simply out of practice. I mean, they I don't know why they've done it, but they've kept him out of the limelight, they've kept him away from reporters, they haven't had him do any interviews, and he was clearly unsteady through much of that debate.

And in contrast, J.D. Vance was very smooth. He took the arguments not to Walls, he was very respectful of Walls, took it to Kamala Harris. Sure, did as a matter of fact, and we've got some more audio to play, even CNN. Everybody had to acknowledge that J.D.

Vance won that debate last night. Hands down. Let's go to our good buddy, Joe, from LAJ, Georgia. Joe, what do you think about JD? I thought he want clearly won the debate, and I think he will help Trump to go on to have a landslide win.

And so I'm really fired up and energized. But Todd, a lot of people are listening to your radio show and also really enjoy you on Newsman. And I think Newsman is really Uh I watch Fox, but I also watch a lot of Newsmax and I think Newsmax is is just doing great, and I think you're one of the reasons why. I'm excited. I think we're going to have a big win in November with Trump.

And I think you're gonna are you going to do do more of a news, Max?

Well, we will see, Joe. I mean, Fox News is doing a great job as well out there. I mean, they're really crushing it with their political coverage.

So I we'll have to wait and see how that goes. But I thir certainly have enjoyed filling in on some of the primetime shows there. We'll have to see how all that plays out.

Well, you keep up. You're doing a great job. Keep up.

Well, thank you, Joe. Appreciate that.

So, anyway, yeah, it was great coverage. I was watching Fox last night, and Britt Hume, Laura Ingram, all over these moderators from CBS. Nora O'Donnell is one of the all these, I don't know. They were diversity hires. You know, that's the thing now.

They wanted to have two women moderating the debate, and they did. And JD, that could have gone very, very bad, but the way J.D. finessed all of this, the way he handled these squawking magpies, who, quite frankly, would have been better on the view than hosting a national vice presidential debate. But the way he was able to get his points across, well done, Senator Vance.

Well done, sir. All right, got to take a quick break. Senator Marcia Blackburn is coming up. Our telephone number, if you want to weigh in on that debate last night, 901-260-5926. This is the Todd Stern Show.

Yeah. All right. Death toll is going up.

Well over 180 people now confirmed dead as a result of Hurricane Helene. Many of those, most of those in North Carolina. Also, a number, hundreds of people still missing, dozens of people missing in eastern Tennessee as well. I want to go to the Patriot Mobile newsmaker line. Say hello to the great senator from Tennessee, my senator, Marcia Blackburn.

Senator, good to have you with us today. Good to be with you. Thank you. So, Senator, I know you have been out there boots on the ground in eastern Tennessee. Tell us what you have seen out there.

There is deaths. We've got over one hundred sixty people that have died and this storm, some of those numbers are in other states. We have destruction. This is catastrophic. I've never seen such devastation.

They're It's just Pardon me, Todd. Towers of debris. people are exhausted. They are under a lot of stress. At the same time, these communities are coming together and they are working their way through this.

You've got. Emergency personnel first responders Um And Elected officials, you've got volunteers in churches and nonprofits. That are out there helping these individuals and these businesses. that have been so adversely impacted. And Uh Tima is out there.

The National Guard is out there. T DOT is inspecting Bridges and roads. They have four hundred people doing these inspections.

So that people can You can get some of these roads rebuilt, and people that are isolated. Um and you're having to helicopter in food and water. Every day for these individuals, so they can begin to get out. We're trying to get. The um Internet Services backup.

Starlink has been great, and they we're getting Starlink into some areas where we can get these bases And so all of that is taking place. FEMA of course, we did the emergency declaration, the first one, the emergency declaration on Friday. And got that done and approved. And then yesterday, the major disaster declaration.

Some of these mayors still have not heard from FEMA. Is that a problem, Senator? I think it is a problem. As I have said, FEMA needs to at least call and say that they're on the way. And we have communicated some of this to the White House.

To make certain that FEMA calls and lets these communities know when they plan to be there. And when they'll be able to apply for assistance and what kind of emergency help FEMA is going to bring. But I will tell you this, being out with Governor Lee and with the National Guard and with the Tennessee Highway Patrol and with all of our local responders, they have worked tirelessly. There are mayors that have slept at the office. since last Friday just so that they can keep tabs on everything.

Yeah, it's really remarkable. And I know even here in the western part of the state, where we base our national show, there are relief efforts being organized. And we understand that a bunch of folks from West Tennessee are going to be sending over supplies, which we greatly appreciate. And by the way, folks, if you want to help out with those relief efforts, go to blackburn.senate.gov slash Helene, and you'll be able to find ways that you can help the survivors of this. And, Senator, again, I know they're calling this kind of like our Katrina.

I think it's worse from the standpoint. These are mountainous communities, very difficult to get around. Not only that, Interstate 40, and the reporting we got yesterday was Interstate 40 between Tennessee and North Carolina could be closed for up to a year. That is a major, major artery for commercial traffic. Yes, indeed.

And we did a our press conference yesterday on I-26. where the river bridge is gone. It's just Gone. And to see the devastation that is around there with these roads and bridges, we've got five other bridges up there that are out. we've got other bridges that are compromised, and TDOT is working as quickly as they can.

They've got four hundred people up there working inspecting these roads and bridges. And Todd, this is going to take a while to get back. And You know, when you look at the degree and the Breadth of this destruction. A fire hole is gone and the fire trucks down the river. a school is gone.

The hospital was flooded. People were taken out from the roof by helicopters. The amount of destruction is just It's something I've never witnessed. And what we want to do is be as helpful as we can be. We want to stay on top of TEMA, be sure I mean on FEMA and be sure they get there to work with TEMA and to work with these local officials and make certain that people have the The help they need to return their lives to normalcy in these communities to be able to get back to normal.

There we go. Senator Marcia Blackburn back with us on the Patriot Mobile newsmaker line. Senator, I want to turn to the debate, the vice presidential debate last night. Jeez-Alou, Senator Vance, what a masterclass he delivered. Absolutely right.

As I said earlier today, I agree with you. It was a master class. and how to debate. He was pleasant. He was pointed and specific.

He was concise in his answers. He held both the moderators and Governor Walls to account I thought the moderators started out like they were going to be very even-handed, but you know what, Todd? They just can't help themselves. They are so in the tank for Kamala Harris and Tim Walls.

So Margaret Brennan had to kind of puck her up there and Uh, say, well, I have to correct you, and I was so proud of J.D. Vance. When he said, you're not supposed to fact check.

So since you're fact checking, this is the fact. I thought that was very appropriate. It was brilliant. I got the impression, Senator, by the end of the debate, even Tim Waltz was going to vote for Donald Trump. I mean, it was that bad of a debate.

But again, I think it demonstrates and illustrates, and I appreciate the tone and tenor because we were really able I think the listeners, especially independents and even some disenfranchised Democrats, were really able to hear this is what Donald Trump stands for. This is what this America First agenda looks like. And I think we're going to see some votes suede as a result of that. Do you? I think so.

I agree with you on that. Independents and undecided voters were watching that debate last night. because they wanted to see Who would be the person that would be advising the Commander in Chief? What are they made of? These are two people that they really don't know.

Walls didn't want to agree to any but one debate. He was, of course, late to the ticket because Harris was late to the ticket. She was. Selected, not elected. And so voters have been very curious about how these teams would would stack up.

And I thought JD Vance did a great job last night. he continued to talk about the economy and immigration and to kind of fact check Tim Walls on a lot of this, which I'm sure that there were a lot of people who heard things last night they've never known about Kamala Harris and Joe Biden and what they've done.

Well, I just, again, I thought it was a brilliant move, and kudos to President Trump for selecting Senator Vance. It all makes sense now, and he is a great helpmate to the President on this presidential campaign. And, Senator, I know that you are on the campaign trail as well. You are crisscrossing the state. You are up for reelection.

How's that going? It is going great. We are working hard. Your audience can keep up with us at marciablackburn.com. We are out here campaigning.

Working, making certain that we're visiting with Tennesseans and that people know to vote starting October 16th with the early vote in Tennessee, and that everybody votes by Election Day, November 5th.

Well, we have a good number of stations across Tennessee that carry the show, and I know you're going to be back in Memphis next week because they asked me to bring the donuts.

So we will have good doughnuts for you, Senator, when you come to Memphis next week.

Sounds good. See you then. All right. Senator Marcia Blackburn, everybody, on the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line. By the way, the senator is going to be doing a town hall event at the VFW Hall.

They're in Collierville, Tennessee. And it is true, I'm supposed to bring the donuts.

So there you go. We'll make sure they're delicious. All right. Here's what we're going to do. We're going to take a quick break.

We're going right to the phone lines. 901-260-5926 is our number. That's 901-260-5926.

This is the Todd Start Show. All right, welcome back, everybody. Happy to have you with us. I've got a quick question for you, by the way. We're going to be talking a little bit later on with a guy from a business in the Memphis area, and they're helping to organize hurricane relief efforts.

And that's because the Tennessee Emergency Management is telling people not to volunteer to help out, to let the government do the work. And I don't know, this just goes against who we are as Americans, and especially as Tennesseans, because we love to volunteer. We're going to be talking more about this in the next hour of the program. Also, we are efforting an interview with the Mountain Mule Packer Ranch over in North Carolina. They're actually using pack mules to bring supplies and medicines to people that are stranded up in these mountain communities.

So, hopefully, again, a lot of this is very fluid because of the communication issues. All right, let's go to the phone lines here. Let's say hello to Mark from The Villages, America's friendliest hometown. Hey Mark, what's going on? Hey, Tat.

First of all, my prayers go out to those in North Carolina. I used to live up in that area. I know Cherokee well. Um I think he was ju I think on Wolf was juiced up. I think he was on the same thing that on Biden takes.

He was just all over the place. Um So, isn't that weird? Mark, that is so weird. You'd think the guy was in his 70s. He's only 59 years old.

He's not that old. No, you're right. And I think you're right. I th and I said this too. I think Vance and Trump need to hire Walt to come on that side.

I mean, they just they were like best buddies. I think what hit home with people too is when Vance mentioned his mom had an addiction to opioid. I think a lot of people kind of came across when they saw that and said, you know, they can re you know, some people relate to that. Um A couple of things that caught my attention that Walt said is Harris is bringing the power. Yeah.

Okay, I kind of said, uh, she's bringing a lot of things, but it's not a lot because I'm joy. Also, he said we're producing more oil. Drug mules, it's not true. Less than two percent of the wall was built. Um The numbers are down on the border.

I mean He threw in those quick things, and I was taking notes, and I had about 10 people on the line. We were talking back and forth in Texas. They just continue to go live. 2% of the wall was built. the the that they're you know, I it just blows my mind how much they lie.

It just blows my mind. And not a single moderate anchorette, rather, one of the lady anchors, not a single one of them actually corrected. Governor Waltz, not a one mark. But man, every time J D Vance opened his mouth they were fact checking the guy. Yeah, and I think he did good when when they tried to You know.

That shit when they were running, and then they cut him off. You know, he goes, Hang on. No, no, no, no, no. I'm going to fact check you. Let me correct this.

You know what I'm saying? I think he handled it well. He did an incredible job. He was well poised. He represented Trump just Unbelievably well.

And I think he did really, really good for the Republican Party. I think. Tell you the truth, I think there's some Democrats that probably are going to come over too because there's this like he was just. Spot on. You notice he didn't have a bunch to note.

And the only time I saw him go down to his notes is when they said something and cut the mic off. If you look right after they cut his mic off, he took some notes that said, Oh, he's going to come back to something you watch.

Well, it was. I don't know what Waltz was doing. It looked like he was literally doing a real-time transcription of the debate, scribbling through the whole debate. Maybe he was coming up with a new playbook. I don't know, Mark.

It did not work for Tim Waltz last night. Mark, got a run. Good hearing from you, my friend. Let's go to New York. Our good buddy Dove joining us.

Hi, Dove. What's going on?

Hello, Todd, thank you for taking my call. I am an Israeli American. I lived in Far Saba for many, many years, which is a town outside of Tel Aviv. And yesterday was I'd be very excited watching my family and others having to take shelter in the bomb shelters. And I remember Bye.

My God, it is. Trump had been president. none of this would have ever happened. Hamas, Hezbollah, None of them would have ever tried to do anything like this. dislike with Ukraine.

Russia never, never, never would have attempted to go into Ukraine. But then I also remember too The scientific in Halle. If Trump was president, There never would be a hurricane. It would never even never allow. I don't know about that, Dobb.

I don't know about that. But I do know this: that Trump would have had FEMA, he would have had every asset of the federal government ready to go ahead of time to make sure the good people in those states, in the southern states, had what they needed. I truly believe that. And, Dove, I will say this, and it's a horrible thing. And of course, there was the mass shooting as well.

You had two terrorists attacking people there right outside of Tel Aviv. The terrorists are emboldened. Iran is emboldened as a result of the fecklessness of the Biden administration. There's just no. There's no doubt about that in my mind.

Dove, I appreciate the call. Good hearing from you. And thank you for listening there in New York. Again, our telephone number is 901-260-5926. We're going to be taking a quick break here coming up, and then we're going to give you an update on this long shoreman's strike.

By the way, have you noticed? In your local supermarkets, I'm just curious, have you noticed? Empty shelves. People are going crazy over this. And the line, somebody sent me a photograph.

They were standing, there was a line to get into Costco. They were waiting about an hour to get into Costco to get supplies. People are literally hoarding stuff because they're afraid of the shortages that are coming if this longshoreman strike goes on.

So I'm just curious: in your communities, are you starting to see these shortages, these empty shelves at your local grocery stores or Sam's Club or Costco or wherever you go and shop? Give us a call. We'd like to know that. 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.

Coming up, we're going to be talking to former Congressman Dave Bratt, also the owner of Arlington Armory, a gun shop, and they are heading up some relief efforts for the Carolinas and the Mountain Mule Packer Ranch. We got a lot going on, folks. Hang tight. We'll be right back, America. Live from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee.

It's America's conservative blowtorch. That's right. I love this American ride. Todd Starns. And hello, everybody.

Welcome to the Todd Starns Radio Show. Good to have you with us here.

Sorry about that, everybody. We've got a lot going on today, and we are very glad to have you with us for this hour of the program. All right. Um I have a question for you, and it's um It's this is a weird thing that's happening.

So, the Longshoremen's Union. is on strike. And they are threatening to shut down the country. And these guys are playing hardball, these longshoremen. There is.

A guy in charge of the the union, his name is Harold D. Daggett. And this guy says that he is going to cripple America. That is the goal of this strike, to cripple America. All of the ports along the eastern seaboard and the Gulf of Mexico are now shut down.

This is day two of the strike. And people are starting to freak out a little bit. And I'm curious if this has been the case in your community, but someone started sending me several people sent me text messages and photographs saying, you're not going to believe this. I'm having to wait for an hour and a half just to get inside our local Costco to get food and to get provisions.

So people are, it's not so much stocking up, people are literally hoarding goods now. Yesterday, I went to Kroger. I just had a hankering for, I'm just going to do a little sidebar here. I had a hankering for delicious country fried steak last night.

So I thought, well, I'm going to go get some rounds. I got some whatever the The cut of the meat is. And I thought, oh, I've got to go get some flour. And so I went over to the flour aisle. Is that the baking goods aisle?

And there was nothing there. There was no flour. I'm like, what happened to the flour? People are hoarding. Unbelievable.

So, I'm just curious. Are you seeing this in your communities? Because it's almost as if. A hurricane or an ice storm is about to hit Memphis, Tennessee, because everything's gone. Everything is gone in the stores.

It's crazy. Anyway, our telephone number is 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.

So here is the president. Of the International Longshoremen's Association International. His name is Harold Daggett. All right, well, these people today don't know what a strike is. When my men hit the streets from Maine to Texas, every single port.

A lockdown. You know what's gonna happen? I'll tell you. First week Be all over the news every night, boom, boom. Second week, Guys who sell cars can't sell cars because the cars ain't coming in off the ships.

They get laid off. Third week Malls start closing down. They can't get the goods from China. They can't sell clothes. They can't do this.

Everything in the United States comes on a ship. they go out of business. Construction workers Get laid off because the materials aren't coming in. The steel's not coming in, the lumber's not coming in. They lose their job.

Everybody's hating the longshoremen now because now they realize how important our jobs are.

Now I have the president screaming at me. I'm putting a tough hole on you. Go ahead. To half hotly means I have to go back to work for 90 days. That's a cooling off period.

Do you think when I go back in 90 days, those men are going to go to work on that pier? It's going to cost the money, the companies, money, to pay their salaries.

So it went from 30 moves an hour, maybe to eight. They're gonna be like this Who's going to win here in the long run? You're better off sitting down and let's get a contract and let's move on with this world. And today's world, I'll cripple you. I will cripple you, and you have no idea what that means.

Nobody does. All right, there you go. This guy's playing hardball, and some of you might say, you know, the guy sounds like a mafia, a mafia dude. Yes, he has ties to the mafia, this guy does.

So we did a little bit of research here, and I want to share some information about the Longshoremen's Association and their union leader, Harold Dangett. Because, again, look, I'm all about the working man in America, and we want to make sure everybody's getting paid well and they're working hard, doing a good job. It turns out. And by the way, the last time there was a strike nineteen seventy seven.

So something's up here.

Something stinks to high heavens. And this could be this black swan event they're talking about. Because if the su and hear me on this, because if the supermarkets are empty now, and they're not completely empty, but they're becoming empty. And people are having a hard time finding provisions over the next couple of weeks. This is all leading up to Election Day.

So all of this, it it just it smells to me, and it looks as though this is all being coordinated to allow Kamala Harris to come in at the last minute and become the savior.

So you'll be able to go buy, I don't know, gold flour or Martha White flour at your local supermarket. But let me tell you something about this uh this danket guy. He is a wealthy man. As a matter of fact, He earns. Are you ready for this?

Just last year, this guy was paid $728,000. That's how much the union boss is making.

So the guys over there moaning about how they've got to have more money. This guy, look, the President of the United States makes $400,000 a year. This guy nearly makes twice as much. Unbelievable.

By the way, that's $728,000 salary. He got another $173,000 from another agency. His oldest son currently serves as the executive vice president of the union. He was making $388,000 a year. Not too shabby.

If you can get that kind of work.

So this guy also owns a yacht. And the Union honored this guy by there's literally a statue of him erected outside the Union headquarters in North Bergen, New Jersey.

Now in twenty seventeen, the New York Times says That Harold Daggett was an associate. Of the Genovese crime family. Again, he owns a 76-foot yacht called the Obsession, and he drives around in a Bentley. Does this sound like your average union guy here, ladies and gentlemen? Unbelievable.

Elon Musk posted a tweet, says. This dude has more yachts than me. It's well, there you go.

Now you're saying, well, Todd, that's leadership. And you know, yeah, the union leaders get paid a lot of money, $700 and some odd thousand dollars. All right. What about the average rank and file longshoreman?

Well, we did a little bit of research on that, too. And again, I know many of you want to feel sorry for these dock workers. They are paid. Here's the headline: some dock workers earn more than $400,000 a year.

Now, under the existing contract, the top-scale longshoremen can earn up to $39 an hour. That's about $81,000 a year.

Now, here's where it gets interesting: that does not include overtime, and it also does not include extra shifts. And overtime, in those extra shifts, these people are making a ton of money. As a matter of fact, on average, dock workers earn well over $100,000 a year. And there are a number. that earn more than $450,000 a year.

This is according to TheCentersquare dot com. And some dock workers get paid even if they don't work. This is unbelievable. I got to tell you, and a lot of the complaints coming from the long term it is that their jobs are being taken over by the robots. I don't know.

I'm kinda rooting for the robots here, folks. I mean, that's insane.

So just so you know, the reason why your kid may not have a Christmas this year, because a lot of the toys and stuff are shipped over here, those things are not getting to Walmart or Target or Neiman Marcus or wherever you go Christmas shopping.

So there's a good chance that the toy your child wants for Christmas, you may not be able to get. And the reason why is because the people making over $100,000 a year. Say they need more money.

So, just something for you to think about here if you are feeling sorry for the longshoremen of America. You say, Tom, it's hard work. Yeah, it's hard work. You know what? Radio's hard work.

But you know what? It's again, you know what you're getting into. And these guys are very well paid. Very well paid. Just something to think about as the store shelves across America go bare.

And this guy, he's pulling a mafia, it's right out of the mafia playbook. They're going to cripple us. You better believe them. Believe them. They will cripple you.

901-260-5926 is our number. That's 901-522. two six zero Five nine two six. All right. So the Tennessee Emergency Management Association.

They don't want any of you people. directly helping anybody that's suffering from Hurricane Helene. And they say, if you want to help, you have to go through the government and you have to donate money. Why are we donating money to the government? Why would we do that?

We already pay something called taxes. Why would we do that? The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency says this: while local communities appreciate the volunteer spirit during disasters, Do not send donations that have not been requested by State or local authorities. TEMA is not accepting volunteers or donations until the life safety mission is complete. Tennesseans, do not self deploy to disaster areas.

This will hinder response and recovery operations. And they go forth and go on and tell you about a foundation, a fund that they're setting up. No, not going to have any of that. Who is it? Who is it for TEMA, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, what right do they have to tell American citizens they can't help somebody, they can't be good Samaritans?

Who do these people think they are? That's insane. Just absolutely insane, ladies and gentlemen. And the good thing here is that so many people are the private sector of Congressman Corey Mills, many others are out there, and they're launching their own rescue efforts. They're launching humanitarian flights, they're commandeering helicopters, and they're dropping much-needed supplies into the mountain communities.

And I say good for them. But what right does the government have to come in and tell you that you can't be a good Samaritan, that you can't? Practice your faith by helping your neighbors. Where is that?

Meanwhile, and this is a story that's not getting a lot of coverage, there's been a lot of looting. A lot eluding. As a matter of fact, a number of illegal aliens were arrested. I believe in Tennessee. For looting.

And the sheriff in Greenville County. Warning looters Don't don't be coming to our neck of the woods, cut number nine. Anybody who's listening that may be thinking of looting something here, just know that the business owners are staying in their stores. They're very well armed. They're protecting their property.

Us, as well as the coroner's office, will be glad to come deal with that because you certainly won't need EMS because people are protecting what is theirs right now. They're about 500 calls behind.

So I don't advise anybody obviously doing that.

So there you have it, the sheriff saying you don't want to be looting in this neck of the woods because everybody's armed, everybody's protecting their property, and if you end up trying to break into somebody's house and you find yourself getting shot, you better call the local coroner. Aye, good for you, sheriff. And God forbid that's what's going on out there. But people do have a right to protect themselves. They've got a right to protect their businesses.

And quite frankly, by whatever means necessary, So the the looters? Beware. If you're an illegal alien and you loot, You need to go immediately back to where you came from if you're still alive. All right, we've got to take a quick break here. 901-260-5926.

That is our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926.

This is the Todd Stern Show. You know, what is interesting here is we had a previous caller wanting to know about the Stanford Act and why the president had not invoked that. And it's a great question because that would allow the president to go to the Department of Defense and say, hey, we've got to start using your resources to help these people. And this is a major disaster we're talking about here, folks. And again, Interstate 40 between North Carolina and Tennessee, a major transportation thoroughfare, could be shut down for as long as a year.

And that's just one interstate. Let's go to the phone lines here. Sam in North Carolina wants to weigh in on the port strike. Hi, Sam. What you got for us?

Yeah, I just wanted to say I am a A union here. And I just wanted to kind of shed some light on a couple of things. Sure. I don't agree with everything that a union does. just like I don't agree with everything that a company does.

But when you're talking about the pay checks, You talk about how much they make. That's gross. That's a gross amount. And then they have things taken out of it. like health care comes out taxes come out, Social Security comes out, So They're not really.

Whatever's left over is the net. That's what they take on.

So Um Not everything is as it appears. And I don't want to sit here and say that I feel sorry for anybody that makes good money. Because I don't. But there's a little more to it than what Some people may know they just say, well, they take home one hundred thousand a year. No, they don't take that much home.

Like I said, it's the stuff that comes out of that paycheck. And lot of stuff they may be asking for, maybe overreach. Um but I don't want to judge. You know, but I I know what you're saying. And when I found out how much that union boss made, I kind of hit the roof.

And then also both of his sons make almost over one half a million dollars a year.

So, like I said, I don't agree with everything. Yeah, and I hear you. Yeah, but everybody has the sa you know, they have those taxes, and I guess you guys have union dues as well that come out of that in some form or fashion. Is that right, Sam? Yeah, junior dukes do come out.

Right. Um they usually usually come out twice a month. Wow, twice a month. W that's um wow. But again, the average, to put some perspective on this, the average median household income was, for Americans, $74,580.

And out of that, people still have to pay their taxes and all the things that you were talking about.

So that's still a pretty darn good salary, even if money is coming out.

Okay, I agree with that. All right. I don't dispute that. Sam, real quick here, how quickly do you think we're going to start seeing shortages? Oh my gosh.

Manch. Yeah. because I don't agree in crippling a company or a country's economy, okay? And so I think they they they need to to You might have to give a little bit if they want to get something.

Well, I'm with you there, but I'll tell you right now: the head of the union says that's exactly what they're going to do. They're going to cripple America, and they're going to make it hurt. Sam, appreciate that call. Thanks for the insight. 901-260-5926 is our number.

We'll be right back. And welcome back, everybody. Good to have you with us. Same time if you're on the phones. I do want to go to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line, though, say hello to our good friend from Liberty University, our good buddy Dave Bratt.

Gosh, Dave, good to have you with us. Everything going well at Liberty? You guys have power, lights, all of that? Yeah, no, we're all good. We have we had our CEO summit last week, and it was just unbelievable.

So God's good. Dave, we've been recapping the vice presidential debate last night. Want to get your take on it?

Well I, as an economist and a social scientist, I like to search for objective measures of truth and reality that everyone will buy. And so my analysis took me to the homepage of Drudge, where the debate was nowhere to be found. And then the New York Times, nowhere to be found on the front page. And then Bloomberg, nothing.

So when Those folks that don't have debate coverage the day after, that tells you who won in the landslide. And uh Walls just had a hard time, right? I mean he JD came out and said, You you got a tough job, man. He's got to defend the you know, the dock worker strike. Iran, World War III, China, Russia, hurricane, no shows for the president, vice president.

record inflation, thirty five trillion in debt. He mentioned JD 25 million. border invasion causing home prices to go up, rent to go up. endless wars. We had peace and prosperity four years ago.

And so He it was way more civil than anyone expected. But I just think on the policy, it was a policy debate And JD just showed the size of his brain, and he was stiff. and just outstanding performance. There is some blowback, though, coming from some conservatives out there, Dave, accusing Senator Vance of supporting a massive expansion in government. That big business is very concerned over the expansion of government mandates on businesses.

Any concerns there from an economic standpoint? Tom, I highly doubt it, right? I mean, you're going into a debate. Ran 10 years ago. I ran on the debt.

I ran on Social Security, Medicare and no one cared at all about any of those issues. And sad to say, it's just sad to say that we don't pay attention.

So I don't think he wanted to dive into those waters. of cutting anything right now, right? Because as soon as you say that word, The left runs like Santa Claus, right? They offer everything to everybody. And so I think we're going to try to do what we can do, but it has to do probably more with the structure of things, right?

Russ Bog was the head of OMB. And he carved seven trillion dollars out of the ten-year budget window, right, from woke and weaponized. Government. And then the laps caught on with this twenty twenty five stuff and just started the assault. And so I think we're going to get to it And if the first round is just to try to re-recalibrate where all that government is heading and redirect it.

in our direction. that's probably Phase one and then Phase two is cutting it down to size. And we still have a COVID budget seven trillion dollar budget. Without COVID. And so that's my best guess as to what's going on.

And all political views are just my else. Dave Brant is the senior VP for business relations at Liberty University. Dave, we've been following the Longshoreman strike, and it's interesting. Shelves are empty across the country, Virginia. People are saying all these paper products are gone, people hoarding toilet paper.

The good news here, folks, is that over 90% of the toilet paper is actually made here in America.

So you're good with your paper products. But Dave, clearly, the union boss who earns almost a million dollars a year says they're going to cripple America. Yeah, I know. That was pretty stunning. You know, Trump is reaching out to labor and blue collar workers, black, brown, Hispanic workers.

Real wages, as JD said in the debate, went up for the first time in forty years under Trump, right? Real wages. for the blue collar worker. not the super rich. And now you've got, I forget how many hundreds of people These longshore guys making more than the President of the United States, right?

There's all these funny memes going out there on that. And then he says, we're going to bring the country to its knees. And so what that's not what the American people want to hear, but you know. We're not in charge right now. And President Trump, to his credit, is getting some support from the unions, which is great.

Additionally, More to the point, the Ukraine war, Iran, Israel, Russia, China, But it Trump had a way of pulling levers so these things would not happen. And I think that's the significant point that is being totally missed, and our side is not paying enough attention to that. He knows how to move the levers ahead of time. Before these disasters happened. And I think, like Reagan, Trump would have gone to the longshoreman and proposed a win-win.

And the current folks are AWOL. And so we've got disasters along with real disasters, right? In North Carolina. all up and down the Hurricane path. And we're sending tens of billions of dollars abroad.

We're sending our National Guard troops abroad. And we're not sending them to North Carolina. I hope the American people are focused on that, you know, the America first. agenda is not a tagline, it's real.

Well, I will say this. The Trump team put out a statement earlier today, Dave, and I thought it was a brilliant assessment. Peace through strength or weakness Leads to war. And when you look at what's happening overseas right now, it's just clear to me this would not have happened if Donald Trump had been in the White House, that Iran would have been neutralized and you would have peace, somewhat of a peace in the Middle East as opposed to World War III. Yeah, yeah, and i I agree with that entirely and uh the Republican Uh The Speaker of the House and the head of the Senate and the Senate, you know, in the army.

Services Committee. There's not a word out, right? All of this is due to President Obama. And his love for Iran somehow, and Susan Rice, and that whole crew.

So I hope Rick Grinnell and some of our folks Get out speaking on this. Because the American people need to be educated. This has been 20 years in the planning. Right? And none of it's good for this country.

And so, yeah, President Trump was on the path to get rid of all those. Crazy friendships and get back to the folks who share our core values. All right. Well, Dave, always good hearing from you. Great insight as well.

Glad you guys are doing well there after the storm. And congrats on a great summit there. Yeah, I know. Thanks a lot, brother. I want you to come down one of these years.

Next year, we'll. We'll get you, and you can hold the show from Liberty. I love it. Dave, let's make that happen. Dave Brad, everybody, great American Patriot, Senior VP for Business Relations at Liberty University.

Thanks a lot, Dave. Thanks, Dodd. Great. All right. nine oh one two six zero five nine two six is our telephone number.

That's nine zero one two six zero five nine two six. Let's go to Steve in Arkansas listening to us on KWAM. Hi, Steve, what's going on? Hey, Ty. I agree 100% with you.

I believe the government is in with this union on this strike deal. What the tell is to me. is Back in twenty twenty, when they wanted to mess with election, what they do, they use the Emergency Rights Act. To go change, do anything they want to, shut down businesses, change election laws, just. Anything they needed done, they used that emergency life act.

Have you heard anybody in the government talk about? declare an emergency act over this uh Launch shortages of food and medicine and stuff. It's unbelievable, Steve. Unbelievable.

What they have to do is declare a state of emergency and they tell those guys to go back Yeah, Steve, I'm not sure what happened to you, buddy, but we'll try to get you back on the air. My apologies. Got to take a break. We'll be right back. You've asked in MyPillow?

Now, I need to give you some background here because you might remember that Doug Emhoff, Little Dougie, as we call him here on the program, has been elevated to become the poster child for modern-day masculinity. This is Little Dougie talking to Circleback Jin Saki, Cut One. An interesting part of how people have talked about your role here is how your role has reshaped the perception of masculinity. And I'm not sure you planned on that, but you are an incredibly supportive spouse. Has that been an evolution for you?

And do you think that's part of the role you might play as First Gentleman? It's funny, I've I've started to think a lot about this. I've always been like this. My dad was like this, and to me it's the All right, there you go. That's little Dougie talking about how he's a man's man.

This guy, there's a new report out from the Daily Mail. That Doug Emhoff is accused of smacking around his ex-girlfriend. This is, again, it's a shocking report from the Daily Mail. But Inhoff was at some sort of a Ritzy Gala in 2012 in France at the film festival, the Cannes Film Festival. and three unnamed friends of this woman told the Daily Mail what happened.

They say that and by the way, they asked their names not to be used because they feared retaliation from Imhoff. I guess they're afraid he might show up and smack them around too, allegedly. But again, this is the guy they're saying is the the new the new poster child for manhood. The three friends provided photos of M. Hoff posing with the woman he supposedly slapped in 2012.

along with other documents corroborating the trip they took to the south of France. The alleged incident came just a year before M Hoff. Met Kamala Harris on a blind date. Wonder if he slamped her? After the alleged slap, the New York law lawyer so this woman was a lawyer who was not identified called one of the friends, a male businessman, sobbing in her cab immediately after the incident.

The Daily Mail goes on to report that M. Hoff. the friend said, had forced his way into the cab and was with the woman when she made the call. The source said it was very clear what she was telling me. She said she was with a guy, her date.

And he hit her. She was in the car with the guy at the time. The woman said, I don't know what to do. I don't know whether to call the French police. I couldn't get a hold of her after calling her back.

So apparently, they were. This all happened about three o'clock in the morning. They were drinking. And there was a gigantic line of taxis. She went up to one of the valet guys, offered him 100 Euros to get to the head of the line.

And she told me that she put her ha hand on his shoulder. Dougie thought she was flirting and came over and slapped her in the face. And then she slapped him off back. Good for you, ma'am. One of the witnesses said, My impression is that he had had a lot to drink.

She wasn't slurring her words, but he was. By the way, she broke up with the guy.

Well good for you. They have been dating for three months. I don't know. Very strange, ladies and gentlemen. Very strange.

There's something off about that guy.

Something very off. There was another incident. Where he hauled up and slapped her so hard she spun around. She was furious, so she slapped him on one side and then on the other cheek with the other hand.

Well, you gotta do what you gotta do, ladies. Unbelievable.

So anyway, that's who Doug Mhoff is. Do you think the mainstream media is going to pick up on this? Do you think they're going to go wall to wall? Because you got to believe the women, right? That's the whole that's the new rule in America.

The woman is always to be believed. By the way, um M Hoff never apologized. For smacking around. Maybe he gets that's what he likes to do. He likes to go out there and smack around the ladies.

Unbelievable, ladies and gentlemen. But there you go. That's Doug M. Haw. By the way, I've got a place of audio for you, and I wish I'll do my best to.

Paint a picture here. This is a student President of the Colleges Democrat Party, I guess the college Democrats is what they call themselves. And this guy is wearing a dress. And he has this bright red lipstick on Clearly, a man who goes by the name Rose. Cut number 10.

The College Democrats. You're the president of the College of Democrats. Yep. How are you feeling about the enthusiasm? Your name and how you're feeling?

My name is Rose, and I'm feeling great. This is going to be a great debate. Oh, sorry, I touched you there. I'm so enthusiastic. Walls is going to do so well.

All right, I guess we're going to have to wait and see. I really appreciate talking to you guys.

So there's actually a girl sitting next to him, and I guessed he touched her thigh. He was like a Tim Waltz kind of a guy. He was doing the jazz hand stuff. And I guess he. He touched her thigh, and so he apologizes for touching the girl's thigh.

I Look, I I have a question here, and maybe this is for the The transgender community out there, I don't know. Why is it that the ugly guys always want to be gals? Why is that? These are not very attractive dudes, right? And so then they put on the makeup and they put on the dress.

They don't even bother to shave their legs. I mean, there's not even there's not much effort going into it, right? That's what I don't get. You're not wearing the ma Well, he had the red lipstick on, but his face was pale as a ghost. Put on a little rouge, sir.

I just don't get it. I I really don't.

So you never see no, seriously. You don't see ser have you ever seen a handsome guy announced that he's going uh trans. No, you don't you do not And by and large, you don't see. hot looking women deciding that they're going to be um, you know, dudes. You just don't you don't see that.

No, I don't know why. Maybe there is some sort of science to it. I don't know. But I'm just wondering: why is it that the ugly dudes always want to be babes? And they're all Democrat, by the way.

If you notice that, they're all Democrat. Anyway, I was just curious. All right, 901-260-5926. Coming up, we're going to be talking to a guy who owns a gun store. It's called the Arlington Armory, and they're based in Arlington, Tennessee.

And this guy is heading up a hurricane relief effort, and they're taking donations, supplies, and they launched it earlier today. We're going to be talking with Chris Umstead, who is the owner of Arlington Armory. And by the way, if you want to get a head start, you can head over to their website right now, Arlington-Armory.com. That's Arlington-Armory.com. And you'll be able to find out how you can support the efforts in the Carolinas.

Hour three of the big show coming up next. from the Liberty University Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. It's America's favorite gun totem Bible clanging deplorable American. That's it. That's right.

I love this American ride. Todd Starns. And hello, America. Welcome to the Todd Starns Radio Program.

So happy to have you with us today. Hour three of the big show. And we got a lot of ground to cover this hour. By the way, President Biden on his way down to Raleigh, North Carolina. Good luck with that.

Right now, the good people in the Carolinas, East Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, they need as much help as they can get. And a lot of it is not coming from the federal government.

So a lot of people are stepping up and they're standing in the gap. We told you yesterday about Congressman Corey Mills from Florida, who has been sending thousands of pounds of relief supplies to North Carolina. They've been choppering that. Those things into the area because the roads are all gone. I want to go right now to the Patriot Mobile Newsmaker line, and I'm honored to welcome to the program Chris Umstead, who is the owner of Arlington Armory, the website Arlington-Armory.com, they're in Arlington, Tennessee.

Chris, good to have you with us today. Thanks for joining us. No, thank you so much. I appreciate the opportunity. All right.

So you own a gun store in Arlington, Tennessee. And I'm curious why are you getting involved in the relief effort? All honesty, we're not hearing much out of the feds, like you said. We're not hearing a lot out of the governor. Um, you know, private citizens are being turned away.

Um, we're seeing reports all across X or uh. Twitter, whatever you want to call it. Citizens are trying to fly in, they're being threatened with arrest.

So You know, if the federal government's going to stand by and they're going to stage everywhere and they're going to stage their stuff, we're going to actually go in and we're going to do what we can. We're going to deliver supplies, we're going to help. clean the roadways, if we can search and rescue anybody that's in need. been a couple of days now, so. Yeah.

If the feds aren't going to do it, they don't want to talk about it. Citizens are going to get involved, and we're going to make it happen.

Well, it's the American way, Chris. And I know that the the Tennessee Emergency Management Association catching a lot of flack because they're telling people in the volunteer state not to volunteer. Yeah, absolutely. We were seeing that yesterday. They're telling folks to only give monetary donations to One fund that was set up, it looks like pretty quickly by the government, they're saying don't come, don't send supplies.

I grew up learning that Americans help Americans. I mean, after Katrina and Harvey and everything else, what did we see? We saw the Cajun Navy. Patriots coming out of everywhere. Um I mean, golly, that's what we do.

So we're going to do it. Chris, tell us a little bit about what you guys are needing and what's the game plan. I know you guys started earlier this morning collecting things. Is that right? Yeah, absolutely.

Any water Bottled water, if we have canned goods, medical supplies, infant year. baby formula diapers. anything like that, that's going to help. Feminine hygiene products, cleaning products, unscented bleach that can be used to clean water with for drinking or cleaning or anything else. Um batteries, candles.

absolutely anything, blankets. The temperatures are going down, and we need to ensure that the folks that are out there aren't going to get a hypothermia. No, well, you're absolutely right about that, and it does get a little cooler up in the mountain communities pretty quickly. Again, folks, Arlington-Armory.com is the website.

Now, if people listening to us in, say, the Jackson, Tennessee area, Memphis area, if they want to drop those things off in person, where would they go, Chris? We are right in the town square of Arlington, Tennessee, just uh north of Memphis. Exit twenty four twenty five. You can come by here at any time until Friday afternoon when we deuce out of here. You can find us on the town score.

Look for the Arlington Armory flag. I think this is awesome. You have a great-looking store there, right there on the historic depot square. And again, you guys are heading out Friday, is that right? Yes, sir, that's the plan as it is now.

I got my brother coming up from Texas with a loaded truck and a trailer.

So, we're going to make it happen. Whatever we can get, we're going to roll out.

So, if we have to make a convoy out of it, if we get enough stuff, I'm all for it.

So, more Patriots, more gear. Let's make it happen and help people. I think this is a brilliant idea, Chris. And by the way, folks, Chris Umstead, the owner of Arlington Armory, Arlington-Armory.com is the website. And I just think this is so great, taking donations directly to the people who need it.

They're in East Tennessee and Western Arkansas, or Western North Carolina, rather. Let's talk a little bit about safety. And I know I was reading a report that crime is just so bad in Memphis proper, Chris, that so many people are moving out to the suburbs. And I know that you guys are seeing a lot of growth there in Arlington. But I'm curious, are people coming in and are they wanting to purchase guns and protect their families?

You know, honestly, we see trends in the gun market like anything else typically right now. We see nothing but hunting weapons. And in the last couple of years, well, that's a set trend. Right now we're seeing nothing but black rifles, and everybody's getting everything for personal protection. That's the only thing everybody's coming in for.

Is that right? Yes, sir.

So somebody goes in, and do you guys offer training as well, or are there people that do that nearby?

Well, absolutely. We go through Mr. Buddy over at 901 Firearms Training. He has a phenomenal staff over there. We love him.

Absolutely. Great, great stuff. We like to push people out to use them. We're a full-on shop. We offer everything.

We work with Boomstick Custom Coatings. He does all of our stair coat applications, mill work. We're a one-stop shop. We just don't have a range.

Well, I love this, and I know that you guys are patriots as well. And if people listening and this show is being broadcast all over the country right now, Chris.

So people from out of state, can they purchase firearms from you guys? Absolutely. We can transfer all over the country. We try to help anybody. And if we can't sell something to you, we at least give you the information.

We're here for the American Patriot.

Well, I just love this. And I know, Chris, you're going to be joining us a little bit later on on Newsmax Television tonight, 5 o'clock Eastern, ladies and gentlemen. You can watch that. Chris, again, just tell folks if they want to drop by donations in person, where can they do that? And how long will you guys be there today?

You can drop them off at sixty two eighty Chester Street, Arlington, Tennessee, Sweet one hundred and two. Um We'll be here until people stop showing up. We'll be here until ten o'clock, eleven o'clock more than likely. All right. Well, I just love that.

All right. Well, Chris, all the best to you, and we certainly appreciate the great volunteer spirit there at Arlington Armory. Absolutely. Thank you for getting this out. We appreciate it.

Absolutely. All right. There you go, folks. Chris Umstead from Arlington Armory. He's the owner.

It's a great gun store in Arlington, Tennessee. They've got the Don't Tread on Me flag flying outside their store. I love that. And I will say this, you know, Chris reached out to us last night on X saying, hey, here's what we're doing. We'd like, you know, could you help us get the word out?

We're like, absolutely. We are honored to do that, and we are going to keep doing that.

So again, all of you folks in the Memphis, Jackson, Tennessee, West Tennessee, Arkansas, Eastern Arkansas, North Mississippi, head on over to the gun store, Arlington Armory, and let's get a caravan together. There's no reason why we are a very giving community, and we've got a great audience here. And I know that you guys are going to step up to the plate and donate. If you go to the website, you'll see the phone number where you'll be able to call in as well at arlington-armory.com. All right, let's go to Pastor John in Kentucky listening to us on KWAM.

Hi, Pastor John. What's on your mind today? Hey there, Todd. Great show. First of all, I was talking to your awesome Costa Greener there, Lydia.

First of all, we were just talking on the phone. I'd like to know and it hasn't been mentioned, okay, there's two points. I want to hang up. Yeah, real quick here. Yes.

Where is the Tennessee Tennessee National Guard? because they have the generators and proper equipment and medical staff. And the second question is, it's in the Tennessee Constitution, it's called the Tennessee State Guard. Tennessee State Defense Forces, which which basically supplements the Tennessee uh Tennessee National Guard. and they're volunteers.

They don't get paid. They wear the same uniforms and they have the same type of equipment. They're five hundred strong. I want to know are they there helping the people? Because they belong to you, the people of Tennessee, the Tennessee State Defense Forces.

And I'll hang up and listen for your response, but it's definitely in your Tennessee Constitution. They belong to the governor, and they can't be touched by Uncle Joe or Tommy Camela. Take care, Todd. Love you, brother. All right.

Thank you. Thank you, Pastor John. And to that point, ouch, we've got. about 250 Soldiers and airmen that are boots on the ground. A good many of those National Guard troops, my understanding, are actually they've been moved overseas.

So there just aren't that many out there right now. I think when you look at the scope of what's happened out in that part of the country, you understand this is where you need the military to step in. And when you invoke the Stafford Act, you literally allow the military to come in and start providing relief efforts. And that's what needs to happen here. I mean, this is crazy.

Just absolutely crazy that we're this far out. It's Wednesday, the hurricane hit Friday, and there are still many communities that have not been able to get power or communication. I mean, that's just insane.

So there you go. All right, we've got to take a quick break here. Our number, 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.

By the way, Samaritan's Purse, go to our live show blog. We have a link. If you want to make a donation, if you would like to volunteer, Samaritan's Purse, they have hundreds of people already on the ground helping the survivors of the hurricane. We'll be right back. You Oh, by the way, Kamala Harris now on record, and there's a great C-SPAN video of Kamala Harris explaining how they do disaster aid.

And we told you that FEMA, their number one priority is not getting to the scene of the disaster. Their number one priority is diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Well, Kamala Harris is now saying that disaster aid should be based on race and gender, not how much water flooded your home. This is what we're dealing with here, folks. And this is one of the reasons why I sincerely believe I got a lot of blowback, a lot of angry messages. accusing me of being all sorts of racist things because I pointed out that the reason why FEMA has not been so anxious to respond to Western North Carolina is because that region is predominantly conservative and predominantly Caucasian. But when you've got FEMA out there saying that, hey, look, our first priority is diversity, equity, and inclusion, that means not you white people.

When Kamala Harris is out there saying that disaster aid should be based on race and gender, she's talking about all you white folk and specifically all you white dudes out there. I'm just telling you, these people are really ugly, ruthless, and evil. That's it. All right. I've got to tell you about this story.

This is brilliant.

So. We're finally getting to a point where a lot of female athletes are saying enough is enough. By the way, a side note here: Caitlin Clark, her team, I guess I don't follow the WNBA, and nobody else does either, except when Caitlin Clark is playing, and then everybody watches. But then, when you do that, well, you're a racist.

So, anyway, I just avoid all of it and, you know, I. Everything else I do is racist, apparently. Anyway, now that Caitlin Clark is out of the running here, or her team is, nobody's watching. The ratings have taken a nosedive. I digress.

So let's talk about women's college volleyball. Yeah. Well, it turns out that there is a team, San Jose State. And are those is that the Banana Slugs? Maybe that's another team.

One of those teams out there has a great mascot. Anyway, San Jose well, San Jose may be the Sharks. I'm just thinking, I'm trying to my brain doesn't go back that far. Anyway, San Jose State. They have a Man On their girls' volleyball team.

And it's causing some problems. A number of universities are now saying that they will no longer compete against San Jose State University.

Now, the University of Wyoming announced in a statement they would forfeit A Saturday match against San Jose State. Because the biological male who goes by the name Blair Fleming, that sounds like a porn name. Anyway, Blair Fleming. Is uh the man masquerading or cosplaying as a woman. Last week, Boise State.

Forfeited a game against San Jose State and southern Utah. refused to face San Jose State. The school releasing a statement after a lengthy discussion the University of Wyoming will not play its scheduled match. Per Mountain West policy. The conference will record the match as a forfeit and a loss for Wyoming.

Now this is Big news because it's a change in the position for the Wyoming Cowgirls. who previously said they would compete against the Spartans. or the lady spartans. Spartanets The athletic department recently discussed the matter with the entire women's volleyball team, including any potential safety concerns. And here's the reason why they're doing that.

Have you ever played a beach volleyball? You know the guys get pretty aggressive. And we have seen this happen where women have literally been spiked in the face by these men And they've been seriously injured, including at the high school level. It's true. The Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon posted a message of support on X.

Here's what he wrote. I am in full support of the decision. To forego playing its volleyball match against San Jose State, it is important we stand for integrity and fairness in female athletics. San Jose State is undefeated 9-0. 10-0 when you count the Boise State forfeit.

Well, the reason why is they got a dude playing. San Jose State is sticking by their man. Putting out a statement saying it is disappointing. That our student athletes who are in full compliance with NCAA and Mountain West rules and regulations are being denied opportunities to compete. We are committed to supporting our student athletes through these challenges and in their ability to compete in an inclusive, fair, safe and respectful environment.

You know, maybe here's what needs to happen. You just have a bunch of guys just, you know, identify as chicks, get a whole basketball team full of them. See how that goes. And you wonder if These teams are going to be punished. Will they face other will they be fined?

Will they be suspended as a result of not going along with the LBGT agenda?

So there you go. San Jose State initially hid Fleming's true sex. How do they do that? Duct tape? How did that happen?

You can't make this up. Blair Fleming was born male but transitioned to female sometime prior to competing in girls' volleyball in high school. We don't know if that means he got the snip snip or he's just doing the duct tape. We'd all know. Anyway, more schools are expected to follow the example of Utah and Wyoming and Boise State.

I say good for you ladies. And it's a shame that the ladies are being put in a situation. Where they have to do this, do you think that's really fair that they have to forfeit their matches? I mean, come on here. All right, we got to take a break.

901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.

This is the Todd Stern Show. Yeah, inflation is no joke, and you know this, especially when it comes to health care.

So, to save money, Jenny and her husband went with MetaShare. You can hear why they love it. We signed on with MetaShare in March, had a really great experience. It was super easy to get going with them. Then, in October of that same year, we found out I had stage three breast cancer.

We were put at ease with MetaShare walking with us and saying that they were going to be praying for us. It's very intentional how they try to bless people when they know this is one of the hardest things that they're going through. They and their four kids thank the Lord, not only for her healing and how he provided for them, but she says it makes her emotional just realizing how she gets to pay it forward. What we put towards MediShare is going to be blessing another mom, and they're going to show up for her the way that they showed up for me. Yeah, and the typical Family saves up to $500 a month with MetaShare.

Find out more, call 888-SHARE-19. That's 888-S-H-A-R-E-19. 888-SHARE-19. All right, welcome back, everybody. Good to have you with us today.

So, look, I've got to play some audio. I want to go back to the debate here. And I'm wondering, and I'm just curious, ladies and gentlemen. Does this move your needle one way or the other? What happened last night?

An even bigger Trump supporter? Are you attracted to Tampon Tim? I'm curious. 901-260-5926. That's 901-260-5926.

Here's JD Vance, cut number 16. I think it's tough, Sean, because we don't have a president that we can actually trust. I don't even know who the president of the United States is. And that's one thing we didn't actually get into the debate that I really wanted to hammer Kamala Harris on is that for three and a half years, America has been saddled with a president of the United States who can't do the job. And the reason is because Kamala Harris lied and said he was up to the job of president.

And of course he wasn't. And now we're in this, we've got this terrible crisis in Appalachia, these terrible floods, a lot of people affected. We've got this regional war breaking out in the Middle East, and we don't have effective American leadership. Look, I think what our response is, is fundamentally, this is Israel's security, and they have to make the decision about how they're best going to protect their own security. And they need the support of their American allies, not Joe Biden, as confused as he is, standing behind them, effectively promising that he's going to punish them if they dare defend their own sovereignty and their own security.

Israel is actually very good at this stuff. It's one of the great things about Israel as an ally, unlike, frankly, a lot of so-called American allies is they have a viable military, they have a viable intelligence service, they're going to make their own decision about how to protect their sovereignty. I think our role here, support our friends, and also get back to some common sense foreign and economic policies so that we can be strong enough to respond to the next national security challenge. Yeah, look, it's a great point he raises. We really don't know who the president is, and the fact that Kamala Harris actually covered all of this up.

That has to be addressed. And, you know, again, there was a lot of ground to cover last night. And J.D. Vance, he just, it was a flawless performance last night. I mean, it really was.

Here's Rachel Madcow over at MSDNC, Cut Six. I think the big picture takeaway from this is that one of these candidates is much slicker than the other, is a much more practiced kind of professional debate style speaker, and the other candidate won. There was one bad moment for Tim Walls in this debate where he got mixed up and embarrassed in answering a question about exactly what month he had been in China in relation to the Tiananmen Square protest. But then on guns on January sixth, on Obamacare, on the economy, on blaming everything on the border, back again on health care, on abortion, on every issue on substance. JD Vance was very polished and very slick and Tim Walls beat him on all the substantive points.

At least that was my take on it. I do think that there was one. very blunt, very easily disprovable lie on a very important issue that is going to be real trouble for J.D. Vance coming out of this, which was him saying I never supported a national ban on abortion. All right.

But again, for the Democrats, the two big issues are: number one, abortion. They want women to be able to kill their babies. Up to, by the way, by the way, in Minnesota, the law in Minnesota. Does not prevent a woman from killing her baby on the on the day of the baby's birth. There's nothing in the books.

It is a it's an abortion free-for-all state. And that's because of Tim Waltz. But this election cycle is all about abortion and whether or not you can pronounce. Kamala Harris is named correctly. This is Corey Lewandowski, and our little Jimmy Acosta is back over at CNN.

Cut to. You know what I can say, Jim? I can say that 13,099 murderers were let into this country. 16,000 rapists, 425,000 people in the last four years have been let into this country by Kamala Harris and Joe Biden's own customs and border protection that are running around this country trying to get away from the money. I don't know.

Why do you guys say Kamala? That is... It's it's Kamala Harris. I've just Jim, we know that they're committing crimes against Americans. Why can't these individuals talk about the individuals who have been killed by illegal immigrants?

13,099 murderers have been led into this country by this administration's own accounting, and you guys don't want to talk about it. I don't know. 13,000 criminals, murderers, wandering the streets. But God forbid that's okay. But God forbid you mispronounce Kamala's name.

It's the funniest thing. But th look, those are the big issues. And if you can't pronounce Kamala's name right, if you don't prepare your collard greens in the bathtub like Kamala, if you don't like doughritos like Kamala, well, you're a racist. That's. Jeez, oh Lou.

All right. Um 901-260-5926 is our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926.

Interesting story here from the New York Post. Generation Z You guys have a lot of slaying out there. And some of those words are now being added to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. It's all very fascinating. I'm very intrigued by this.

More than 200 new words have been added to the dictionary's 2024 edition. And they go through this big process here. I didn't realize there were that many new words being created. But here are some of the new words. FYP That stands for For Your Page.

Is that I always wondered what that meant. I had no idea and I was kind of embarrassed to ask. FYP is a noun, a social media feed that contains personalized content based on the user's interest. Oh, wow. Also Touch grass.

That means to participate in normal activities in the real world. How would you use that in a sentence? I don't understand. Street corn That would be grilled corn on the cod that is coated with a creamy spread. What?

What? What? Barrata. Are these all melany? Are these Gen Z words Barata?

That's been around for a long time. Ultra processed. is an adjective. That means it's made with highly processed ingredients, including artificial additives like coloring, flavoring, and preservatives. Cash grab!

Is another one. Shadow Ban. Oh, I know what that one is. I think I've been shadow banned before.

So, anyway, all of these words now being.

Now being introduced into The Dictionary International Bitterness Unit That's a unit of measurement used to assess the concentration of a bitter compound found in hope. To provide, and hops rather, to provide information about how bitter a beer is. I never would have guessed that one. I kind of figured that's how you uh gauge a Democrat. Determining how bitter they are.

All right. Let's go to Tom in Georgia. Not a big fan of J.D. Vance's performance. Tom, what's going on?

Hey, um I thought the performance between the Republican New Dealer Band and Bernie Sanders wig wingman. Tim Waltz, who keeps dancing around the issues, I thought it was sad. I thought Vance, when they asked him about, will you promise not to separate children from their parents at the border when they come across illegally. Man, that was some low hanging fruit. God, I mean, all he had to say was.

Oh, you mean like the five to ten thousand people that you people in big media went ballistic over when Trump was in office? You you wouldn't leave him alone about that? And now we've got fifty thousand fifty times that, three hundred twenty five thousand that are just missing. We know probably a lot of them are doing farm labor and factory labor and doing porn and all these sex trafficking and child trafficking. We know a lot of them are doing that.

But you dare to ask me about that? Why don't you ask Mr. Waltz next to you and see how he dances around that issue?

Well, I thought there was, first of all, I thought he handled the question appropriately. And Tom, I think tone and tenor was important here because he didn't want to come across as mean or angry. And so I think that's there was a lot of thought that went into how do we present ourselves tonight? And I thought that he answered the questions pretty effectively.

Well, I don't know, Todd. I mean, he could have done it a lot nicer than what I just said. And he probably would have. I don't know that he has in him what I just said, how I just said that. But certainly, he could have brought up the fact that Trump was pilloried by the media for five to ten thousand missing and separated kids, and now the number is fifty times more than that.

I think that would have been very effective and called out the media at the same time.

Well, I look, I thought he do you think that he did a good job of calling out the moderators? Um well, yes, and when they cut him off, a little bit. When they cut him off, when they cut him back on, I said, Uh what are you trying to do? Cancel me up here? That was the best part of the debate so far.

We were actually in a debate a little bit there, and we were getting into getting a little bit passionate about that. And we were trying to explain a little bit of the details about why we disagree here and how we see it differently. And I think my facts are better than his. But you decided you wanted to shut that part of the debate down. I don't think that was a good look, CBS.

Yeah. All right. Well, Tom, again, I appreciate calling in. And folks, Tom says that the performance of J.D. Vance last night was awesome.

lack lustre what say you? 901-260-5926 is our number. That's 901-260-5926.

Here is some audio from CNN last night. One of their panels cut seven. I think we shouldn't lose track, I think even in the civility of the fact that I came to this debate to land a bunch of punches. And he did. He landed a lot of punches in between all the niceties and all of that.

And the thing that really stood out to me was that Tim Waltz did not seem prepared for it. No, he did not. And the reason why is they can't bring him in front of the cameras. They can't allow this man or his running mate. Kavala Harris.

To do any in-depth sit-down interviews, God forbid, any press conferences. I'm just telling you, they're both terrible. Cut uh thirteen, please. There is no doubt in my mind, however, Governor Walls did in terms of sincerity, that Vance won this debate. Does Governor Waltz have a problem with the truth?

No. They were talking at one point, Vans wanted to correct something about how Haitians got into this country. And he was right, and the moderators wouldn't let him correct it. It's very interesting. But at the beginning, the two issues driving the campaign right now are Harris has a big deficit on the economy, Harris has a big deficit on immigration, and Republicans were happy tonight, and Democrats a little bit nervous that on those two issues, Vance carried it.

J.D. Vance is much more experienced at this, at public speaking, at defending himself, at pivoting. I agree with you that we're in year nine and no one knows how to cover the audacity. The audacity is that someone should have said, stop it, stop, stop. Are you effing kidding me?

And they should have dropped that F-bomb, right? I mean, they should have just said, are we, this is the debate. This may be the only chance people have to see the difference. Wow, the girls over at MSDNC really got triggered by all of this. They really did.

All right, we've got to take a quick break here, folks. Don't forget to head over to Arlington-Armory.com. You can reach out to the gun shop. They're putting together a huge convoy. They're sending a lot of equipment over to Western North Carolina, eastern Tennessee.

And if you would like to be a part of that, go to Arlington-Armory.com. If you're in the Memphis area or Jackson, anywhere in West Tennessee, drive on over and you can drop your supplies off at arlington-armory.com. We'll be right back. There it is. You know, it's interesting.

Tim Waltz, his closing statement, well, here's J.D. Vance's closing statement: America is the greatest country in the world, and we got a plan to make it even better. I like that. It's a great idea, I feel good. I feel like we're going to do it.

Tim Waltz, his closing statement was. Taylor Swift likes me. I'm not too sure that moves the needle. What was it there is a story out there about Taylor Swift, and after she went all in. On uh Kamala.

She lost over two million Spotify listeners. Wow. That's a lot of breakups, even for Taylor Swift. Jeez a Lou. Anyway, so I guess people are look, even Taylor Swift fans are frustrated because they can't afford the price of her tickets to the concerts.

They can't afford her music anymore because of the economy.

So, good for you. Good news. We told you about this story. Gosh, it was, what, about a year or so ago? It's been a while.

There is a. There was a teacher in Virginia who Oh, Virginia. And the teacher was fired. The guy's named Peter Vlomming. We had Peter on the show.

Wow, it's that longer. It was twenty eighteen. He was fired in 2018, and he was fired because. He did not use the pronouns of a transgender student. And so they fired the guy.

He was got himself an attorney. The way it worked, the student, his parents in the school, told him he was required to use the student's male pronouns. Vauming said he could not use the students' pronouns because of his sincerely held religious and philosophical beliefs. That every person's sex is biologically fixed and cannot be changed. This is true.

Vloming also said he would be lying if he used the student's pronouns. If the dude's a dude, he's a dude, if the the gal's a gal, she's a gal.

So anyway, he claimed in the lawsuit that they violated his right to exercise his religion under the Virginia Constitution. And it turns out. That the court agreed with the teacher. They have now reached a settlement with the scroll board. $575,000.

That's how much he's going to get from West Point Public Schools. The superintendent confirmed the settlement. Said, we are pleased to be able to reach a resolution that will not have a negative impact on the students. Yeah, kids, sorry. In the marching band, you're not going to be getting those new uniforms this year.

Sorry. We gotta we gotta pay an an unexpected bill. Good for you, Mr. Vloming. He said in a statement, I love teaching French.
