Either way, I'm going to be hanging out with you for the next four hours. This is when the show gets started. 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. Shout-outs to everybody listening all over North America.
My people at home, my people at work, my people getting to the money, my people going back to school, their kids are going back to school. Whatever you're doing, thank you for tuning in. I'm in Atlanta, Georgia. Super producer and host, Ryan Hickey.
He's holding it down for us in New York City. And you might be everywhere. You might be anywhere listening on the free Odyssey app, locked in on your local Infinity Sports Network affiliate. You can always listen on Sirius XM channel 158. Shout-outs to all my truck drivers.
And if you got a smart speaker, ask the speaker to play the Infinity Sports Network. We've had a hell of a weekend. We've had a hell of a two weeks. Man, and we're going to have a hell of a night. We've had a hell of a day. Olympics are finally done. Theme USA men and women get the job done. We have one of our gymnasts representing America. Jordan Charles is getting her medal taken away, took away her bronze. We got a baseball player suspended for uttering a slur, anti-gay slur. Oh yeah. And then we got a New York Jet who's never played a down for the Jets, has never practiced for the Jets. He doesn't want to be a Jet. Talking about Hassan Riddick. We're going to get into that.
And so we have a lot to get into. And then forget that, we actually have people who showed up to work over the weekend. Caleb Williams impressing the Chicago Bears and they're faithful. Maybe they have a quarterback for the future. Bo Nix looked good out there for the Broncos. He did.
His debut, professional debut. He had to share the field with two other guys. Sam Darnold, dude. Well, not Sam Darnold. I'm going back. Hey, Hickey, I'm mixing up my bums from the Jets. Zach Wilson. He's a mix-em-up because they are just one after another and all kind of the same. Mixing up my jet bums. Sorry about that.
My apologies to all my people out in Minnesota. Sam Darnold will hold that job for a little while until J.J. McCarthy takes it over. But we'll get into Bo Nix and we'll talk about Caleb Williams and what he's been able to do. And he's the guys who just came out of college. By the way, we have our first pre-season AP Top 25 poll.
And so we know the top 25 teams, according to some of the biggest and best sports writers in the country. And we're actually going to have Bill Bender to come through next hour and talk about that to highlight the amazing play so far of Caleb Williams and what the expectations might be for him and the Bears. Alex Shapiro is going to join us from NBC Sports Chicago.
He'll be through later on in the show. And to talk about the disaster. That is the New York Jets and maybe disaster is too strong. The comedy that is the New York Jets. Antoine Staley is going to join us. He covers the New York Jets for the New York Daily News. And now Antoine has a lot to discuss with us because this guy Hassan Riddick just decided he doesn't want to show up to work.
Let me remind you and we're going to we're going to get into the Olympics and all of that good stuff. But damn it, there was some interesting news on Hassan Riddick, who was just traded to the New York Jets in March for a third round pick that moves to a second round pick if he actually plays. This man hasn't done anything. He has he been in the building at all? Did he did he do anything? Did he just get traded and he showed up one day and that was it? Like, what the hell is his deal?
And I think I don't you could be right. I don't think he's ever maybe stepped into the building. I think like what what contract is he signing? He's not signing one. He may if he was it was like the first day, like you said, he gets traded.
Otherwise, he has to step foot in Florham Park in months. I saw a photo from a couple of months ago. This must have been OTAs. Hassan Riddick was not in New Jersey practicing with his new team, the Jets, awaiting a new contract.
He was in he was in like Tokyo, Japan. He was wearing I don't know what traditional Japanese clothing is, but he had on like the wooden shoes and the I don't know, I don't I don't want to be disrespectful, but he was doing every and anything but playing football for the New York Giants or even practicing. And so we got the news earlier today that he wants a trade because the New York Jets haven't given him what he wants. The reason why the Philadelphia Eagles traded him in the first place is because he wanted a new contract. The Jets knew that he wanted a new contract and he still hasn't shown up.
He is scheduled to make 14 million dollars in the final year of his contract and he wants a new one. He had 11 sacks last year. This man has been getting to the quarterback at a ridiculous rate over the past few years. He's one of the top quote unquote sack masters in the league. And that's what the New York Jets defense is built on. OK, you got Quinnen Williams in the middle.
You have a son Riddick on the other side. This is what they want to do. They want to get to the quarterback. Well, now they got a guy who doesn't even want to be there. And so he requested a trade.
Now you could take him seriously or you could just laugh. You can say that this is a matter of, you know, rocking the boat, trying to embarrass the Jets into giving him a new contract. I heard the news and I said, come on now, like Jets are not moving this guy.
This is just him and or his agent trying to rock the boat, trying to put a scare into the New York Jets. And I guess to their credit, we already got a response from the Jets. OK. Their general manager, Joe Douglas, put out a statement. We've informed Hassan that we will not trade him, that he's expected to be here with his teammates and that he will continue to be fine per the CBA. If he does not report since the trade discussions back in March, we have been clear, direct and consistent with our position. Our focus will remain on the guys we have here as we prepare for the regular season.
How about the New York Jets got another distraction? His name is not Aaron Rodgers. Give it a few weeks. Give it about a month.
Oh, that's right. Aaron Rodgers has a book out. And I guess Aaron Rodgers a little bit upset that he's not at the front page, even though he is, because he decided to tell everybody about his comments a few years ago about his immunization status while we were in Covid. I guess the Jets are going to jet. There have been worse controversies. Ask Brett Favre about his cell phone and the pictures that he was sending to Jen Sturgis. The New York Jets have been through worse. Ask Rex Ryan about his, you know, foot videos in the parking lot. There have been worse for the New York Jets. A guy asking for a trade, even though he didn't show up to work.
They have been worse. I want you to take a listen to this. Adam Schefter. He was on ESPN and he was explaining why Hassan Riddick wants a trade from the New York Jets. Today he came out and said he wants to be traded. There's a contract stalemate. He's scheduled to make fourteen point two five million dollars.
And let me break it down for you this way. Essentially, he has been looking for that new contract to be paid like an elite pass rusher. The New York Jets haven't had any contract negotiations with him in recent months, and they've essentially said we're not going to do a deal with you unless you're in the building. But he stayed away from minicamp.
He stayed away from training camp. He hasn't shown up. And so there is the stalemate. He wants a deal. The Jets want him to show up. And earlier today, the Jets general manager, Joe Douglas, came out with a statement that said that the New York Jets will not trade Hassan Riddick and that they expect him to essentially report to the team.
So we have a stalemate. We have a player who essentially the team traded for and was banking on, who now has asked for his own trade. And here we go with the latest NFL training camp drama.
Oh, my goodness. He's going to play for the Jets, right? He's going to be a New York Jet. He will. Yeah, this will end with him being on the Jets, just like, you know, C.D.
Lamb's holdout will end with him being on the Cowboys. Neither of them are getting traded or moved, but it's just I mean, in a season where they are like forget what Jerry Jones is all in, where the Jets are truly all in this year to make a deep postseason run with Aaron Rogers and everyone else to trade for a guy who is disgruntled about his contract and to actually think the guy who wouldn't play in Philly on that same deal would come to New York and play in the deal that he doesn't want to play on. It's laughable. It's laughable. And I'm not throwing salt in the wound as, you know, you've been a Jets fan, but this is classic Jets.
Oh, no, there's no salt in the wound. This is I enjoy stuff like this. It's it's funny to me. I like the Jets and I root for them, but I don't I don't discount the fact that they're funny. I expect I expect comedy.
You know, I just I listed two. Well, they're not hilarious. Sending unwanted photos to anyone is not a laughing matter. Hello, Brett Favre.
Rex Ryan and his situation is I don't know. Hickey, how the hell did that even get out? That was from his own phone. Wasn't that from his phone or his wife's phone?
Yeah, I sent it to a friend or something. What happened? I don't know how that gets out, but there seems to be a lot of loose lips with the Jets facility. Yeah, they got it. They got it bad, you know, and at least on this go around. I mean, the Jets have been through this before. Bill Belichick, this guy was the head coach of the New York Jets for like two hours and before he's like he resigned like right before the press conference. Like, what are we doing here? And so the New York Jets, this is this is something that they're used to.
Used to being left at the altar, they're used to being stood up, they're used to being and no offense to redheaded people, but they're used to being the redheaded stepchild. That's it. And I don't know the way things are going and we can't predict the future.
I can't look. The New York Jets might hit the jackpot and all of a sudden, boom, Vince Lombardi Trophy in February. I don't know. Am I counting on that? Would I bet my money on that? No, I wouldn't. Is it possible?
I guess it is, right? I would say what's more likely is that the New York Jets, this entire situation with Aaron Rodgers, it just it crashes and it burns. And the New York Jets are just left standing there holding the bags like a jilted lover who just left the house. Hickey, this is like I hope you've never experienced this.
I've never experienced this. Imagine returning home to your significant other. And your significant other and their stuff is gone. Just everything. Could you imagine that?
No. That's what happens to the Jets all the time. Like they don't learn their lesson. The New York Jets are just jilted lovers or they're a jilted lover going after all the things that people don't love them back. Hickey, they don't.
It's terrible. Part of it is because stuff like this. They kind of do it to themselves in a way. They're masochists. They like abuse. That they do. Good for the New York Jets. You know what? We'll talk to Antoine about this in about 10 minutes.
Only the New York Jets could trade for a guy who doesn't want to be there because he wants to get paid and now he wants to be traded before he's ever played for them. Comedy. Before we get Antoine on, let's talk about something positive.
Congratulations over the weekend to Team USA men's and women's football or basketball. I'm so damn confused. Antoine will be here. Hickey, when is Antoine coming?
6.40, so about a half hour or so from now. I gotta wait another 30 minutes to talk to him about the Jets. We'll give up more time so that maybe we have another controversy to talk to him about with the Jets.
You never know. I gotta talk to Antoine A about Aaron Rodgers and his book. Why is Aaron Rodgers... I know he didn't write it, but why do we get an Aaron Rodgers book now? This guy's like no distractions and he got a book coming out. You got you got his son Riddick who don't want to be a New York Jet. At least, oh, he wants a contract. That's the first thing.
It's just a disaster. So yeah, what we'll do is we'll take a break. When we come back, we'll take a break. When we come back on the other side, we'll talk about some positivity. Team USA basketball on the men and women's side.
They both decided to go out to the Olympics and beat France to win some gold medals. We'll talk about them. We'll get into Noah Lyles and Jordan Childs.
We'll talk about Bo Nix and Caleb Williams and Jerry Jones. We got a lot to get into. If you want to participate in the show, it's real simple. 855-212-4227.
That's 855-212-4227. We come back, we'll talk some Olympics, and then we'll get to Antoine in about 30 minutes. You're locked in. Happy Monday to you.

Is under contract, wants some money, not even at work, but wants to leave. I guess that's how a lot of people feel, right?
People don't want to go to work, but they want the money. Anyway, we'll get more into that. Antoine Staley will join us in about 20 minutes. Let's get into some positivity, especially for all the listeners here in America, which is a good majority of you.
Hello to all my friends in Canada as well. We had a damn good weekend, right? Saturday afternoon, I watched one of the best basketball games, one of the best basketball experiences ever as Team USA, the men, defeated France for the gold medal.
Saturday afternoon, this was a hell of a game, 98 to 87. Steph Curry just completely lost his mind. Steph Curry was out there shooting the lights out. Steph Curry had 24 points all on threes. Steph Curry had about four threes at the end of the game and about a two plus minute span. Steph Curry was taking threes over Victor Wambanyama. Steph Curry was taking threes on double teams. Steph Curry ignored LeBron James and Kevin Durant just to launch threes and he made them.
This was a ridiculous showing and Steph Curry, who is typically busy in the summer, I don't know, like winning championships or having children, thinking he got four kids now, good for him. This man got his first gold medal and Kevin Durant got another gold medal. Kevin Durant is like, hey, I got you.
Japan. Kevin Durant won a medal in Rio. Kevin Durant went out there and won one in London in 2012. All he does is win and LeBron James wins. He's like the MVP of the tournament. He is the MVP of the tournament.
These guys are old. They just keep on winning. Steph Curry, after winning that gold medal on Saturday, listen to this amazing instant reaction. He just won a gold medal, man.
We out here in France. Hey, Ann said I just showed up three days ago. Hey, my boy just got the pairs about three days ago, bro. We so glad he got here. I don't know what to tell y'all, man. This is wild, bro. We've done a lot in the game. This one right here.
This is up there. Yeah, he's done a lot of things. That was one hell of a, it's a nice way to end the show. He was crap to begin the Olympics. He was MIA. He was missing in action. That's why Anthony Edwards, who's ever the comedian, she's like, yeah, he'd been out of action. Now, Hickey, Tatum showed up, right?
Hickey, he showed up eventually, right? He was there. So it's Tyrese Halliburton. So they, they technically also showed up and were present.
You know what? I give Tyrese Halliburton credit. He actually made a joke about it on social media. He's like, yeah, I got myself, I got myself a medal and he kind of equated it to getting an A in a group project and you didn't do anything good for him.
At least he can laugh about it. A meanwhile, Jason Tatum, he did play in the final played about 11 minutes. He had two points and three rebounds.
He was one to three from the field. Good for him. Now I give him credit too. He hasn't whined. He hasn't complained. Hasn't said anything about his time. He did say it was a humbling experience the first time he got benched against Serbia, but Jason Tatum may make no big to do about it. He did it.
I think his mom went on social media and did. Well, mom, you're going to tell LeBron to sit down. He was MVP at a tournament. You're going to tell Kevin Durant to sit down. Kevin Durant is still one of the best scorers on planet earth when he steps out onto the floor.
He'll be okay. And so I give Tatum credit because when he was asked about competing in 2028, he didn't Chuck the idea. We'll see what happens between now and 2028.
We got four years between now and then we'll see what takes place. You know what? Speaking of one of the greatest Kevin Durant, he was asked about watching Steph Curry. Remember they used to be teammates in golden state.
They won two championships together. And Kevin Durant is like, Hey, is, is that the hottest you ever seen the guy? Is that the greatest heat check you've ever seen? I've seen so many from him now, but that was on this stage, his first Olympics, the world watching, especially after what he did last game to follow it up again.
That's probably, that's probably the greatest man. Hickey that was, that was amazing to watch. Like he was just, he was just launching them and they were just going in.
And this is like against, he took a shot against Victor when Ben yama shot over him. It was incredible. It was so cool to watch. And it was actually nice because 99% of NBA fans have been torched by Steph Curry in the warriors. It was nice to be on the good side of a Steph Curry explosion for once. Yeah. It's one thing to, to enjoy the Olympics because like, I don't, I don't put say I like, I, you enjoy and you respect the guys and their talent and what they do, but to have a rooting interest and what they do is a rarity.
It really is like, I can't remember. I got no problem with LeBron. I know I'm not no Lakers fan. I'm not necessarily or a LeBron fan. I appreciate watching him. I like to watch him play. Like I've never rooted with intent to go. Yeah.
Yeah. Get a LeBron. Like when he got dunked on, I was like, Oh damn. You know, I never rooted for Anthony Davis. Don't care.
Steph Curry appreciate him is exciting to watch, but don't care. And so to have a rooting interest in what they do for a limited time is fine. And now it's over. Everybody goes their separate ways. They go back to their teams. I assume a lot of these guys are going to go on a real vacation or at least try and they're going to blink. And then there's going to be time for training camp in the NBA and it will be back to the season come October.
And later on in the show, I also share with you some of the unreleased or some of, I should say leaked schedule announcements as it relates to the NBA. And so congratulations to team USA basketball. I think we all know what a disaster it would be if they did not come back to the States with gold, they would have been ripped to shreds.
Everybody would have a totally different conversation today. So good for them. Draymond Green did show up, I guess, to root on Steph Curry and a guest party.
I'm surprised he hasn't dropped the new episode of his podcast live from Paris yet, but good on team USA on the men's side. And then the women, they got busy yesterday. I mean, they were behind against France. They had to bounce back. It took a three pointer right inside the line. That was a two for them not to lose. And that would have been devastating. Sixty one consecutive victories. Sixty one consecutive victories for team USA women's basketball. This is nuts. And last night or yesterday afternoon or the morning, whatever time it was, it could have been curtains for them in dramatic fashion.
But they came back. Asia Wilson, the star, the MVP, she said, you know what, winning my second straight gold medal. Oh, it's a big deal.
That's what she told NBC. It's amazing. It truly is the dynasty that we have built here at USA has been incredible. I'm so proud and blessed to be a part of it. But God was working today. God was working today. And I'm so proud of the resilience that like my team showed we could have fumbled. We could have crumbled at many times, but we pulled through. And to say that I'm a two time gold medalist, I'm so blessed.
Like, oh my God, he was working today, man. It's going to be interesting. I don't want to hit the fast forward button too too much here.
It's it's going to be real interesting to see what things look like in the next Olympics, Summer Olympics, Los Angeles 2028. I assume, you know, Angel Reese, she congratulated all the women. Angel Reese was just like, hey, congratulations to them. Keep me out of it.
Like, I don't need to be involved in this. I see Kaitlyn Clark. She spent her weekend. She hit up one of the New York Yankees game. She was hanging out with Aaron Judge.
Picky. She is she well, I know she's tall, but she was not dwarfed by Aaron Judge the way I thought she would be. Did you see that photo of him standing around? I did.
And I also noticed she said that he was yoked and that photo did not lie. He looked pretty jacked. That dude is he makes no sense. And now he what is he one home run away from 300 now?
It's incredible. He's a machine. That guy makes no sense.
He make that guy he's yoked like. How much time do you think Aaron Judge spends in the gym a day? Two hours, it looks like three hours to three hours. Looks like a lot of time. That dude is a truck.
That's how he hits man. Now on what's what took pictures so long ago, they're not going to throw to that guy. What took him so long? What took him so long?
It's a great question. Better late than never. But you're right. It took him a while to be like, maybe let's pitch around him. He's like Barry Bonds, but.
No drugs. That's right. I think if his head starts growing and we see him get a bigger hat. Maybe it's just coincidence or maybe he's eating a lot of spinach.
This is the equivalent. And then we've seen some gigantic guys in baseball, right? I mean, Jose Canseco got huge. I think we know why. Well, he told us why. Mark Maguire got huge. We know why. Sammy Sosa got huge.
I think we know why. Like Frank Thomas was big as hell from, you know, he got bigger as he got older. He got heavier. But it was a natural progression of him being a giant human being. I don't want to I don't want to necessarily say this is the equivalent.
And Hickey, think about this for a minute. When it comes to being a physical anomaly in a sport for years, the closest I'd say for the past 25, 30 years in baseball is Randy Johnson. Right. You get a guy who was throwing one hundred plus. He's like six, ten, six, eleven. And he just is whiplashing a ball into you.
And you just got to go, well, damn it. This isn't fair. From his length, the angle that he's he's he's slinging the ball and it just he's crowding on.
It's too much. And now in basketball, we got a guy in Victor, when Benyama, who I don't know, is probably seven, four, seven, five right now and moves like a guard to have a guy in baseball stand at the plate and be. What is Aaron? Is he six, six, six, seven, six, seven, like six, seven.
The guy is solid throughout. He's listed at what, 260 to 70 to 75. You can't you can't be any bigger, right? Like because the strike zone at that point is just nuts, like we're not going to.
Could you like, for instance, let's really think about this. Could you see somebody at Carmelone size or forget Carmel? Could you see somebody at Shaq size if he was in shape, like standing at the plate? Like that's too much of a too much strike zone, right? That Shaq was at the plate. It's a gigantic strike zone. Yes.
So I think Aaron Judge, from a physical perspective, he is probably right there, because if he's any bigger, it's difficult, right? I don't know. Marco Belletti, what are your thoughts? You've been listening here.
What do you think? I think he's about as big as you could possibly be, because once you get a little bit taller, then I understand the the wendyama freak, but it's still there's something about it athletically that it makes it more difficult. There's too many parts of your swing and your strike zone is bigger. It's just and Judge gets more calls go against him than any other batter.
And it's because he's six, seven. So, yeah, I think he's basically at the stretch to the limit of this. Yeah, I don't think we'll ever see. Well, maybe. I don't know. We'll see.
No, we might. I mean, because I'll be fair, when I was a kid, I never thought we'd see Dave Winfield again. And he was six, six.
So who the hell thought that this was coming? I don't know. OK, maybe we'll have a seven foot guy, 300 pounds cranking him.
I can't imagine. Again, that it's like I said, six, seven, six. We're at it. We're at the threshold. It's almost like a guy like, you know, what are you throwing, 104?
That's about as far as I don't think 105, 106. Like, we're right in that range. I don't think anybody's going to show up and throw 125.
Like, we're right there. Let's see what our oldest Chapman's kids do. OK, we'll wait and see what his kids do, because that man is throwing 105 and he's just he's throwing hard as he gets older. It's funny, he was throwing 94 like two years ago. How did that happen?

statement from general manager joe douglas that they will not be moving him uh was this a ploy to try to push or embarrass the jets there's no real validity in him asking for a trade or is there i mean yeah i mean from his perspective i mean you know the jets haven't since they initially spoken uh after the when when the trade was made uh he thought that you know they were gonna you know have some contract negotiations throughout obviously that that didn't happen uh so he didn't show up for mandatory minicamp did not show up for otas either or any of the all-season program and got fined because of it and also lost the 250 000 workout bonus in the process so july 23rd comes no asan reddick the reason is when i understand his camp is saying that the other jets you know didn't didn't provide him good faith they didn't you know continue to negotiate and then that's kind of why this deal has been made from their perspective but the jets you know from their perspective they they were saying that they will not negotiate with anybody that's going to hold out so now you kind of kind of got like a uh staring contest before between these two sides and uh it's going to be interesting to see who ends up you know winning or well it's really nobody wins in this situation but and what has been happening in the process well anson what do you think is the most likeliest of outcomes is he is he going to be suiting up for the jets in about a month's time or do you think he's going to be away or maybe elsewhere what do you think is the most likeliest outcome i think now at this point yeah it seems like uh trade might be happening although like they're saying they're not going to trade them but that's what the team usually says before they actually trade somebody uh nine times out of ten but yeah i mean you know the jets have kind of paid themselves for this situation they offered offered him a contract in the station before the deal was the trade was made he declined it so they made the trade for him anyway and then once they traded uh john franklin myers to the broncos i think they gave already some levers to say you know what i think they have to pay me now and he's kind of right because now they're missing you're literally like 20 sets from their team a year ago when you look at bryce huff who ended up going to the eagles uh from the jets and you know quentin jefferson who ended up signing a way to deal with the browser then john mires as well so they definitely need that production there or otherwise now you're going to be relying on will mcdonald who they really like but it's still really young it's still really learning and i'm not sure if he's an every down player at the moment antoine staley is joining us from the new york daily news knowing that the new york jets traded a third round pick that could be a second round pick if he were to play for him what could they possibly get in return from another team if reddick has traded that's a good question uh i'm not sure it's just gonna depend on how much that other team would value reddick and i'm sure they would probably have to work something out in terms of you know money or bonuses maybe uh for the money that he lost as far as funds that he's uh you know accumulated not showing up for the jets but yeah i mean if you're taking you're taking on a risk if you're another team because he's not showing up for the jet he's not showing up for anything as far as jets related so you have to understand you have to understand and get you know some kind of clarity on what his situation and his mind state is but i don't imagine it'd be very much you're definitely not getting what you gave back in return from the eagles so it's probably more or less like a day three pick i would imagine maybe like conditional fifth or sixth round pick uh that could maybe turn it to maybe a four but yeah you're definitely not getting uh what you got you know in return what would you play for you get them in the first place well antoine someone else on the new york jets a little bit of a shock that he's not the center of attention his name wasn't in news a little bit for uh you know excerpts from his book how have things been going with aaron rogers we we don't expect to see him here in the preseason we've seen him getting into it with garrett wilson and all this lovey-dovey yeah we're screaming and yelling because we love each other how have things been with his return so far i mean the players level i mean he gets they don't understand that he has some the best chance to win uh they also understand like it's a lot because with aaron i mean he's he's a perfectionist he demands you know everybody you know work the hardest uh that they can and you know if things aren't done a certain way he's going to let you know about it whether it be joe tipman you know having high snaps and training camp and you know aaron rogers feel like he can get on his uh rear end a little bit and you know garrett wilson like when you got two passionate people like that because garrett is very passionate he wants to win he has not been happy uh with the lack of success that jets have had the last couple years so you know him and aaron just trying to get on the same pace too as well but you know and of course people are going to make a little bit of a big deal out of it when you see your star receiver you know having a passionate conversation with your quarterback but all accounts through the players level uh they feel like you know physically he's you know ready to go uh ready for week one uh it's probably the they feel like that's the least of their words at least at the moment with the reddit situation and uh he's been all full of gold right so far in training camp well you talk about aaron rogers and we mentioned garrett wilson as the wide receiver one they bring in mike williams who hasn't had necessarily a history of being healthy and then we could kind of sort of maybe possibly say the same thing about the offensive line what are some of the bigger concerns is it the line protecting rogers or is it who he gets the ball to uh you mean on the offensive side or just in general with the team because the offensive side yeah i think i think yeah i think i'm probably more concerned about the offensive line because you know you look at the last two years they've been riddled by injuries i mean 22 they had 11 different players start games on the offensive line last year was even worse they had 14 different offensive line combinations in 17 games which led the league so yeah that's why you go out and get a old-fashioned new from penn state in addition to tyron smith who you know let's face it has not been had a uh history of staying healthy himself you know has not played in full season since 2015 so that's why i i appreciate joe douglas is having the foresight to say you know what just in case something were to happen to smith then you know we're going to go out and get passionate from penn state there and they got borgen bozos who's also an older tackle too at 33 years old uh elijah verritt tucker also coming off two back-to-back season injured injuries so yeah it's a lot you know that you have to be concerned with the offensive line because if they can't they can't stay healthy there's going to be a hard time protecting their rogers who's also you know older quarterback himself at 40 almost 41 years old so yeah that's probably my main concern there yeah i know antoine you don't got no crystal ball but we're going to see more aaron rogers in like four plays right i i think so i certainly hope so uh i mean it wouldn't be good for my uh business you know per se if we didn't see a lot of aaron rogers this year again and wouldn't be good for robert sally joe douglas even as far as job security i could tell you that well having having said that forget forget his son redick he shows up he doesn't show up okay whatever what do you expect from the new york jets this season they go to the playoffs and then it's like whatever happens happens are they going to fight to get in what are your thoughts on the team's current construction and what they're capable of well now i mean if you don't have reddick and i think that really hurts their defense defensive line especially considering like you lost your leading sack artist from a year ago so now there's more pressure on the guys they are there and they already you know have some questions with their run defense last year they finished 25th i think they're going to be a team that's going to contend for a playoff spot i still think buffalo's the team to beat in division i know you know they lost a lot of people and have some questions there miami also has questions too they changed because the coordinators uh you know vic fagio ended up going to philadelphia now also you haven't you know jaylen phillips and you know bradley cub both coming out season in the injuries as well and obviously too uh there's always a big concern with himself too as well so yeah there's a lot of questions with a lot of teams in the division of course i didn't mention the patriots because they're rebuilt they're in rebuild mode but i think you know me personally i think you get where between eight to ten wins they get ten full wildcard spot and whether they get in or not it's going to be you know it's going to determine like early on in the season because they got a brutal schedule late in the year so they got to win as many games that they're supposed to early on in the year otherwise i think it's going to be tough playing in the amc which you know i think they definitely have to make the playoffs this year or else uh there's going to be some major changes after the season and so on staley joining us from the new york daily news you talk about major changes in job security of a joe douglas or rob salah could they really get wiped out at the end of the season if i don't know woody johnson doesn't consider this a success they'd be starting from ground zero right even aaron rogers would be going no yeah i mean how many coaches last three years and have three consecutive losing seasons that really happens in the odd days in sports and more or less the nfl so yeah forest consecutive losing season yeah and joe douglas has been there since 2019 so yeah it's time to put up a shut up at this point like they have to make the playoffs i believe or else everybody might get going including aaron because if they start over they're probably going to win a new quarterback and that means you know they're probably going to get rid of aaron rogers who only has one year left on this deal hey and so on we're short on time here to the break would that not just mean a complete fan mutiny they've been sitting on this for for years now in the quarterback before the guy didn't work and then the legend that you're bringing the future hall of famer doesn't work and now you're telling me you're just going to put a a nuclear bomb on the whole thing the fans are going to mutiny i don't know if you would do uh complete blow up but you got it you got your foundation and sauce and garrett and germane and breeze there you just need a quarterback and you know change some parts around it but yeah they definitely have to make the playoffs or at least the coaching staff and the foundation would change for the next mature uh that's wild stuff hey antoine where can people follow you and all your work and whether his son gets traded and aaron loses there's always something now his son reddick wants a trade man hasn't even showed up for work not one day jets traded for a guy who they know wants a contract and now he wants to be moved what a life
