Watching a documentary on PBS, I was surprised to hear this hymn through the video. It's one of my favorites, and it has a great message in it for family caregivers.
American radio this program for you as a family caregiver you feel good on such due through Christmas and tough can be of four kick and we want to jump in the summer that they've got a lot of things to talk about interesting things. I think you'll find a meaningful event or special caller will be joining us later and you can as well. Your calls 880-589-4888 589-8840 if you want to be a part of the program. We'd love to have you.
I was in Yellowstone National Park two weeks ago yesterday right on Christmas Eve with my sister and her family gracing on our son went with them and we took a snow coach into Yellowstone government and Yellowstone there like, three, four, 5 million people to go through the summer time it's crazy. I've seen the aerial shots of the traffic run holiday times of the summer and is is just absolutely bumper-to-bumper for miles.
It's insane so I don't go there. The summer budget thoroughly around 4 July, Memorial Day, we just live 90 miles from their rationalist that in but in the wintertime. They have far fewer people go in and not in the old days grace that we cannot hear long time and finally moved up to Montana but we took her kids years ago and Yellowstone on snowmobiles. Now you have to have you set up you have to have a special patch of trail guide.
All I can stuff the old days we just took snow there. You paid your part to get you snowmobiles are you there is went on into the park and we did that several preventative appearance and their couple times and it's great.
I love State Department. This time we took the snow coach and easy bagel, buses, vans that are equipped to go into the snow and there's lot heavy so they get these massive oversized tires and is just extraordinary but there's only about 50,000 people that will do this in the wintertime and I was told this to my sister and her husband that you were seeing right now. The things we were sitting there in the park in the winter things that lesson a million people are seen in the last 20 years, and in its its extraordinary to to see the buffalo out the snow to see the ice in the snow everywhere just there so much to see there we only see just a fraction of it with the tour like that Gratian ago to try to go before the crowds get here and explore the park a little bit more is is exquisite. Or I must talk about this will I was watching a part of a documentary on PBS and I was a kid Burns documentary on Cambridge as he does love these things is really spectacular documentaries in their talk about national parks and that's what caught my attention. What I would watch this the first place on PBS and it caught my attention about America's national and national parks and it said America's best idea, and if you get a chance to watch this.
I would recommend it's it's worth seeing.
But what struck me was the song that was repeatedly used throughout the entire documentary that also. I think it was the whole thing but I wasn't good bit of it and there was a theme that was playing throughout the entire documentary the kit repeating it.
It was this that was playing. You know how to do these hymns for long time and I love these hymns somebody when they do this documentary grabbed a hold at him. It was written by Presbyterian minister of New York and the had the unfortunate name is firstly with a small multi-multiply and hate to hear that, but he was trying to skim if you don't let him give us a call 888-589-8840 have done it before on the show but it was was important.
I felt like to bring this back to our attention because of the lyrics of this and if you go out and look for this you online defy the text for many of the him sites omit the fourth verse and that's one of the things I wanted to talk about because the fourth versus the battle is not done Jesus who died shall be satisfied and earth and heaven be one and that you know it's it's a little telling that so many him sites omit that verse as we talk about God a lot.
We talk about those got but we don't necessarily talk about Jesus and so I just felt it was interesting that when the producer of this film about our national parks. Put this together. They use that particular him and it it it is it's telling that I thought well okay, these hymns are making it into the the public discourse and that I'm, I'm okay with that because I think these hymns need to be. They've been all but forgotten the church but here's a PBS documentary using it so II think that it's is important to remember these things because I love that I give you, and here's a reason why they did it and they part of the lyrics are the first verse into my listening ears. All nature scenes around me rings the music of the spheres. This is my father's world.
This I rest me and the thought of rocks and trees, of skies and seas his hand the wonders what brought someone go to see here is a Gail I think is Gail into the sea.
Gail good morning are you feeling did you know the thank you note, you're quite welcome.
Did you know the song that my father were all out right now. I love that sound go well. I would discharges, line 7 that hymnal 11 and now you got that out.
Did you did you buy those symbols or did you baby confiscated because I have a whole but she symbols that I've inadvertently confiscated from churches all over the past I don't Gail and I did not get them the right way back from relatives that hymnal note in them. I yeah you way back.
Behind each one of them let you know I can traverse everything I do whatever your hand back today do it well is it winter the Lord okay and then get back to him that whenever I'm trying to work.
Something in Dale with sadness whatever situation you not find the treasure trove is it.
It is amazing place to go to and in but but here I am watching this documentary, but all of our national parks in this country, bad Yellowstone and that was the two that they picked as the predominant style top that he had amazing that Elton play on different things they documentary and I will have him this marvelous list. We got a run Gail thank you so much for the call good morning Tennessee and it is great to talk with you.

Are you feeling, Chris. I'm doing okay.
You know you just print thank you for asking you and agree that no wrong, strong got the ruler yet and wearing so much that it still wrong. This is this is a hymn that is meant something to me over the years and love the seal but when I got to that text. Though the wrong seems also strong yet. This is my father's world. The battle is not done Jesus who died shall be satisfied and earth and heaven be one and I just love that it I was disappointed to see that so many him sites out there that put the text lead that verse off but that to me. That was the that was the closer I mean that's the verse with their know the wrong also strong. And you're right, we live in a society right now were the wrong seems also strong in in in our lives as caregivers, you know we we look at things that are so painful and but I was I was just struck that they use this him for that wonderful documentary as national parks and they get a little New Age. You know that stuff on it, but if you take the time to watch it. I think you play very meaningful to see why what was important in America have national parks and because I live so close to Yellowstone. It just drove that point home for me but I'm Chris I appreciate you call ensure net and hit okay here program for a few years now and I would caregiver to my husband Gail December 13 he passed away and just this last December last month. Yet in a home note at I'm doing okay and get certain songs like hearing somebody laugh all her time. I think I'm okay but you know he would fiddle over Thanksgiving. Came home and done so when with not Christman. I bet John and Pete. He passed. I decided not to have a funeral. We both have donated our bodies to science because of the stupid Co. that he thinks they didn't want and so I said well I don't want to interrupt anybody's Christman that family and so that celebration of life will be on his birthday, January 19. I am going to write that down to his name Joe England to ING your Chris and I'm just going to write that down to remember to let you guys up in prayer. That is the day after my wife's probably. And they yes and so that's coming up and that's gonna be a tough day and I think it's it's interesting that you donate your body to science they wouldn't take it. I'm donating money to science fiction and you know if I if I could make you laugh in the midst of this, then that's a job well done Chris and I am grateful for just the opportunity just to sit down with you know this is been painful. It is the end of a long journey for you okay and it really see any of that particular matter journey will is the end of your caregiving journey that was very difficult yeah and now you're you're starting a new chapter in your life and I've got to run because I got special guest on the show, but I wanted to ask you one thing one thing, what are you doing now what would I do. It's a little early but what are your thoughts for you.
