For the right to play in the championship. Chris is a Commanders fan Ryan's a Commanders fan, by the way. Chris, I just met in the green room with Ryan. A rider, pardon me. Do you know uh the team that Chris roots for?

I don't. Take a guess. Patriots. Nope. TGS.

Cowboys? Wow. That guy number give the New Jersey guy a I can't see you right now, Rich, but I see you like you're so good. Yes, come on. Yeah, Rich was going.

Chris looked sad. Oh. Why? 'Cause he's a Jet fan? No.

So at least he was seeming to me. I can sense the pain. You can feel it. You know, it's sort of, you know, I. I'm not going to go full sixth sense here because that's kind of a spoiler alert.

You see ghosts. I don't know, man. The Jets preseason was not inspiring. Excuse me, they went to Green Bay and they put a beat down. Then their final two.

was uh they got dogged in the Snoopy Bowl and then who knows. I mean Yeah, yeah. Preseason game number three. Nobody was playing. Nah, nobody.

Unlike the Chiefs, I can't believe that. Again, the Chiefs went out there and just. played the ones for three for three series. I know. And they looked amazing.

And trying to send a message to a touchdown, field goal, touchdown. The defense was creating problems for Caleb, who did get a nice drive into Roma Dunze before the end of the half and then ended their preseason on an up note. And certainly the ride home was better, but thanks to. Um Big The the the arm wrestler. You know, Bay Jent getting it done.

At any rate, the Cleveland Browns played uh everybody. Except Kenny Pickett, a quarterback. Kenny didn't play a lick during the preseason because of an injury. Um Flacco looked terrific. Mm-hmm.

You saw that. I mean, you see why Flacco's the starter. Yeah. End of story. Dylan Gabriel looked good.

You know, he did. He had some good times there. And Shador had his worst outing of the preseason. Without question.

Now the question is, is it because of Shadur? Or is it because he's playing behind or with a bunch of guys that are going to get cut? And then when it came time for the two-minute drill, He took him out. And they put in Snoop Huntley, who they proceeded to then cut the next day.

So, I don't know what they wanted to give Snoop a little solid. Appreciate you coming here. Here's some two-minute tape for you to show for your next employer. That must have been it, right? I guess.

Cause why else? I don't know. Because you know the narrative. The narrative is the Browns are just trying to do Shador dirty. They did him dirty in the draft.

even though they drafted him. And then they need them dirty throughout the You know Training camp season where we hear this is that, the other thing not doing too well. And then he goes out and he balls out against Carolina. It looks amazing. And then they pulled him.

After a long ass day. preseason. But it looks like he's going to make the team and Kevin Stefanski. probably the first time in his two-time coach of the year career. Being asked, why did you pull the fourth string quarterback for a two-minute drill?

Yeah, I obviously um I don't I don't concern myself with outside type of things. But uh You know, I'm committed to his development, just like all of our rookies.

So we'll. Continue to focus on getting our guys better. And that's what we'll stay committed to, and that's what's important to me. And did you, I'm sure you kind of answered this last night, but why didn't you keep him in for the two minute or why did you decide to take him out? Yeah, nothing more than decided to give Snoop.

Uh some work at the end of the game. There you go. Honestly, I think it sounds like, you know, let's give Snoop some tape before. Right. We cut them.

I I I was Texting around with some of my colleagues about, you know, hey, is Shador going to make the team? Every single one of them says he's absolutely making this team. And it's four quarterbacks and it sounds weird because it is weird because you don't usually keep four quarterbacks in a 53-man roster.

Somebody's going to be wearing pajamas every single week. And the point is: like, why? If you need an extra lineman, you need this, you need that. And that may change week one, week two. There's a rash.

of injuries, somebody's gonna get cut. And the question is, who's it going to be? And I'll just say. Yes. Because I hear this a lot.

This is the reason why nobody drafted Shaddur. Because the coach, two-time coach of the year, is being asked, why didn't you put. this kid in for the two minute drill. And if you name any other person that could be third or fourth on the quarterback depth chart. Nobody cares.

Nobody's going to be talking about it.

Somebody could have been pulled in the two-minute drill situation by their coach who's third or fourth on the depth chart. You don't hear it. And this is now being, this is why you don't bring in Shadur. That's why you didn't bring in Tim Tebow back in the day because it's a circus. And when I hear that, all I think of is If I'm part of a team.

that takes a kid like Shadur. Or Tebow, or name anybody who comes Manzell, right, from back in the day. Although he was a first-round draft choice. But I think you're getting my drift. I always hear that and I think to myself, If I'm this coach of this team, I take this as an insult to me.

In my ability. to coach and also remove distractions. I I I get insulted by that. Because It's Him, you know, he... He chafed at the question.

And then he got a follow-up and he answered it. And is he then going to leave the press conference and go, why don't we draft this kid? I can't believe I just got two questions, and it took up. 35 seconds of my day. You know what I mean?

Maybe. I doubt it. But what's the big deal?

So you asked a question about it. And he's talking about developing a quarterback, and he's got a very good, talented quarterback to develop. I just don't know how you're going to develop. That's the ugly. Honestly, distractions.

Screw the distractions. Screw the distractions. It's not like this kid is like, you know, look at me. And I know you might push back and say, He went up to the coach and had something to say, I guess. And I mean, you're advocating for yourself.

Like, I want to show my two-minute drill. He might be sitting there thinking, I'm going to get cut.

So I need to go on out there and show you what I can do after a long ass day here. I'm better in the two-minute drill than what. What I've been handed over the last few. Quarters here, I mean first few snaps here.

So You know, I... Neither here nor there. It's just four quarterbacks. And if you think they're keeping him because his name is Sanders, I think that's ridiculous. They clearly see something in him.

I'm just concerned about how he's going to get developed. And it's not just because it's a Cleveland thing, because Stepanski, this just in. is really good at this thing. You know, 11 win seasons in Cleveland, two of them. And coach of the year, like, he knows what he's doing.

Well, what are you talking about? Was it Mike Vrabel a couple of years ago when you asked him about in London about Will Levis? And during the season, these guys don't get any practice time if you're second or third string.

So that's the concern there. If you're just going down that road. Real quick. Yes, in reference to that, It was a couple years ago in Vrabel's last year. in Tennessee.

We were calling a game in London with the Titans being part of it. And at the end of the broadcast. meeting with the the broadcast team with Rabel. In the coaches meeting I asked him how Will Levis is doing. And he basically said, I don't know.

because we don't have the ability Two. Get him up to speed. We don't have the, I'm paraphrasing, we don't have the ability to marinate. We don't have any ability to develop. And I walked from that meeting.

to the practice field. to watch the Titans with Kurt Warner. And Kurt has very specific ideas on this sort of thing. Because Part of the reason why he was able to go on the magic carpet ride. in St.

Louis when he had that opportunity. dropped out of the sky. by the football gods and the injury gods much to the dismay of Trent Greene, Is because he played in the Arena League, but most importantly, in Europe. And those are important. Reps.

And for whatever reason, NFL ownership decided to not spend the money. Any more on Europe?

Now, those also, those seeds that were planted in Europe are showing green shoots and massive returns right now with the crowds. And the interest level over in Europe, I think for sure. the fact that the NFL is as big in Europe as I personally have witnessed is because of Say what, laugh all you want. Rhine fire, you know, Amsterdam Admirals who. Kurt played for the London Dragons, right?

And for whatever reason, the NFL decided that's just not worth the bang for the buck. or coming up with staffs and moving them over to Europe. What a massive in my mind, wasted opportunity. Grow the sport. And give your prospects a shot in the office.

I know there's injury concerns or whatever. But when is somebody like Shador or Dylan Gabriel going to get the opportunity to show a rep? They're going to get thrown into a game. And And it's going to be potentially troubling. Name anybody that's going to be thrown in there.

I mean, look at Anthony Richardson. How is he going to get any better? Mental reps? You really think that the NFL should partner with the UFL and make these into developmental minor league teams in a way? Brother.

Have these guys play in the spring and get better? If I was a member. of the National Football League. First of all, This whole team, all of us? We're not flying commercials.

Thank you.

Okay, good to know. Air R E S.

Now we're talking about the ARENA. You know what I mean? Warm chocolate chip cookies. I got you. I got you.

I mean, I love that you go chocolate chip cookies. Hot towels. Warm nuts. Oh, cheese platter. Mimosas.

We're talking about the same thing, right? Yeah, of course. I got you guys back. That's the headline. If I got those commas and zeros.

But in terms of. Making the sport better. I would be pounding the table in every single one of these owners' meetings and saying we have to do something. about developing quarterbacks because they're But there for the grace of the injury gods go any of us in this room. We gotta like right now, Tanner McKee may not be available.

For Philadelphia, right? Week one. They're going to throw Sam Howell out there on Thursday night to kick off the season. If Jalen Hurts gets dinged up for a second. Right?

I mean, everybody is one play away from having a potentially highly unready quarterback ready, and you're spending all this capital. Uh uh on draft choices. For quarterbacks and people's jobs are on the line, I'll tell you who would appreciate that sort of thing would be the scouts. Whose jobs are on the line? The general managers and the coaches who make these decisions.

I mean, with all due respect to Jackson Dart, how he has looked. Has he thrown his last meaningful pass until his next? If And when he gets thrown in. by the giants against who knows whom? What's he going to do between now and then?

I guess the virtual reality world can help. I don't know. But yeah, I mean, just to go down that road of quarterback development, I would start a new league. There's the UFOs right there. Just partner with that.

It makes so much sense. But the issue is, too, the pushback I might get in the ownership room is like, so I draft somebody like Anthony Richardson, top five. I should throw him out on the field in the spring. That's what I should do. I should throw him out on the field in the spring against a bunch of people that are trying, you know, absolutely trying to get a job in the NFL and might not be good enough and do something stupid.

And then there goes his knee. There goes his shin, there goes this thing. Could happen anywhere at any time. I guess. But you have to develop quarterbacks.

I don't know how they're going to do it. With any of these guys. Like Shador is going to make the team outstanding. Good for him. I think that's a good idea.

I don't believe that this is like a... A conspiracy theory that the Browns are keeping him just to You know Snuff it all out. Right? That makes no sense. It's insane.

But they're going to have him there. But he's not going to get any reps. I don't know how you're going to get him. The same thing with Dylan Gabriel, because at some point, if you're going to keep picking, that's the guy that's a backup. Yeah.

Yeah. I mean, that's why you're keeping Pickett. Because you gotta you gotta give your your Your team a shot for a season rather than just throwing to a raw rookie. They're going to trade one of those two, right? I don't know.

They can't trade Pickett because then you're going to have two rookie backups.

Well, you saw Gabriel should be because obviously someone's going to get hurt. How about this one? You saw um Aiden O'Connell go down, right? Yeah. out six to eight weeks, broken wrist.

If you're Vegas, do you take a shot? We thought Vegas was going to take Shador to start with.

Now, I know Pete says we need somebody with experience. Pete wants a veteran. I don't blame him. Yeah. I don't blame him.

But do you but that mo brings somebody else up. I mean, do you take one of these kids? Yeah. Why not? What do you offer, though?

Nothing. Yeah. Seventh round pick.

Well only if they're going to cut them and they say they're not. One of those two are going to be on a different team by a We shall see. Maybe 844-204-RICH is the number to dial before we bring out our our PLL friends. Since we're talking about the Cleveland Browns. We do this every year.

We backtime it because we're really good at what we do, or at least Mike Hoskins is because the rest of us forgot about it until he mentioned it to this morning to all of us. Literally, this morning.

Okay. Hey. There's eight divisions in the National Football League. Let's backtime it from the start of the NFL season. Eight shows.

We've got eight shows to do until the kickoff of the National Football League season because we're off on Labor Day. Meeting. A division today. Let's go. We predict them start to finish, top to bottom.

See who at the end of the day gets it all right. one through four, every division, and we start With the American Football Conference Northern Division, I think I know who everyone is going to predict to win it. The rest of the order, and I know, and finish last. I think the question is: who's two and three? You never know.

Yeah. We could be wild with this here. All right.

Well, we'll see because we're asking you to start, TJ Jefferson. You know, I'm a wild boy. I'm a little bit more. Let's progress it. Let's give some, yeah, let's give some extra juice here.

The AFC North, who wins it all the way down to the four. We've got the AFC North coming in fourth. I got the team who has four quarterbacks, and I think that's really no surprise. That's the Cleveland Browns. All right.

We got to see what's going on here. And who's first? First? Yeah. Well, that would be the Baltimore Ravens.

Okay, because again, I think this is the issue: who's going to finish second and third? And that's a major question here.

So you're the first up with this conundrum, sir. They say defense wins championships, right? I've heard that story. The thing about one of these teams is I don't know what's going on with their defense. They're going to score a lot of points again, but can they stop somebody?

All right.

The other team, they got an older quarterback. We don't know what's going to go on there either. But if I had to put some hard-earned American cash down on this, Chris, I'm going to say the Tomlin Street continues. Steelers finish at two. And the Ravens defensive woes are going to get knocked down to third.

The Bengals defensive woes are going to kind of have them at. in third place there.

So yeah, Ravens, Steelers, Bengals. Browns bringing up the rear there. TJ Jefferson's AFC North predictions for 2025 brings us to Christopher Brockman. What we're saying is the AFC North, the Browns and Ravens here, the RSTLNE. Of the show.

If you're like on Wheel of Fortune.

Okay. Those are just a given. Those are the given and the consonants and the one vowel. Good one.

So, yes, Ravens first. The fast del Tufo, the Vanna, the Vana Del Tufo. I think Ravens. Are gonna go to the Super Bowl this year. And then Cleveland, they're gonna be in the top five looking for a quarterback next season.

Now, I think that only one team from this division makes the playoffs.

So, my order doesn't really matter much in the grand scheme of things. I think both the Bengals, I have two. And I'm on record saying the Steelers season is going to be a disaster. I think they're going to be three. I think the Tomlin streak is over.

Rogers' career is over. But ultimately, the Bengals' defensive issues are going to play out all season long. And no matter how awesome Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase and T. Higgins and Chase Brown are, and they are awesome, it's not going to be enough to get them to the postseason.

So you think it's only one team in the AFC North making the playoffs? Correct. You add that as window dressing to your Ravens. Bengals, Steelers, Browns finish. Yes, sir.

And you think the Steelers season is. Such a wash. That the Tomlin streak is over. Rogers is definitely one and done. His career is finished.

And you want to hit the final record? Because it's got to be under 500. Yeah, yeah. I mean, 6 and 11, 7 and 10, 10. 6 and 11.

Yeah. I don't know, man. They've got some talented players on defense. They do, but they don't have enough offense to score anything. I don't know about that.

We'll see. Jalen Warren's gonna get his shot. That's just my thoughts. I don't know. Could be wrong.

I mean,. Rookie running back could do something. I don't know who their receivers are other than DK.

Okay. Well, there's a guy named Roman Wilson from Team 144, the University of Michigan. I don't know about that. The Steelers are great at finding why receivers. Couch cushions, you know, a round.

Right on your ball, man. I may need to.

Okay. We'll see. And I'm going to give you my AFC North predictions. I do believe the Ravens win it. Not ready to say they're making the Super Bowl.

And I do believe the Cleveland Browns do finish last. Um Can they surprise? Obviously, but I just think it's that. And at the end of the day, the fact that Trey Hendrickson is not signed and that the Bengals defense, as much as I, you know how I've been talking about don't let him in the tournament. Burrow Chase.

And Higgins and Chase Brown, exactly what you said. I just still think the Steelers are. are a better balanced team right now. And And Rogers The fact that he's not being asked to do what he did in the last two years with the Jets, which is like, please show us the way. Please be the guy that everyone is looking to.

He's kind of coming in in a different situation, and I think Tomlin and him are going to vibe along with Arthur Smith. He and Arthur Smith might. Grind some gears at some point. I think so. Like, that might be an early October.

Mid-October, Steelers start two and three, three and four. Late October report. Out of Western PA. Maybe. But I think at the end of the day, though, the Steelers are too good.

And I think they do make the playoffs again. And that will be an incredible January wildcard day when the Steelers take the field. Can they finally win one? For the first time in almost a decade, can Rogers make a run? What's going on?

Um That's my prediction. for the AFC North.

So you and I are lockstep. Teachers.

Okay, we are. And Chris switched it up. See, I knew it would be one and four is going to be the same.

So what are the RST? R-S-T-L-N-E-L-N-E. That was good. I liked it. I liked it.

Did Sarah come up with that?

Sorry, Mike, you lose a turn. I'm sorry. We're not asking you for your opinion. All right, let's bring our friends from PLL out here, Chris Kavanaugh and Ryder Garnzee of the California Redwoods. Come on out here.

We'll talk a little football, a little lacrosse when we come back. Hey folks, let me tell you that drinking and driving is a decision that will change your whole world. Things will never be the same once you get a DUI because legal fees and time in court are just the beginning. Getting into a crash is another way your world could be irreversibly changed after drinking and driving. Your vehicle may not be the only thing it gets damaged in that crash.

You could face a life-altering injury or even death, but... You're not the only one who could face those consequences. Your decision to drink and drive could permanently change someone else's world, whether you injure them or leave their loved ones grieving. The next time you're out drinking, call a rideshare, a taxi, a sober friend, or a designated sober driver. Always plan for a safe ride home.

The only decision that will change your world for the better is the decision to call for a sober ride. It is never worth it to drive drunk. Don't risk it. Drive sober. or get pulled over.

Chris Kavanaugh and Ryder Garnzy are attackmen for the California Redwoods who are going to face off against the Denver Outlaws in the PLL semifinals on Monday, September 1st, and they're right here in the studio. Good to see you guys. All right.

Not to start off with something awkward, but I will. We had Trevor Baptiste here last week. Um he brought me a lacrosse stick for my son. You guys look empty-handed. Is that an awkward way to start off?

You know, I think RJ said he's got something in the back of the car. We forgot in the background. Oh, it's like a tire iron or something like that? What have you got in the back? Maybe some Redwoods merch.

All right, I mean, I think the conversation is going to go up from here. Yeah. They're not like I'm I'm I'm expecting anything, but I'm just saying, you know, Trevor kind of showed you up a little bit here. You know, yeah, he did. I think your people threw you under the bus.

Come on, RJ. I mean, come on, right now he's looking for something. Like, can I go run out and get something? Just at least, maybe a coffee. All right, just kidding.

So, this is it, right? You got a big, you got a big match coming up on Monday. Yeah. Correct? Yeah, semifinals on Monday against the Outlaws team that we split with in the regular season.

Right. Chris's brother plays for him. That's right. I heard about this. Yeah, it's going to be a fun matchup.

I actually live with him in New York City.

Okay. It's going to be a tough week. All right.

So do you get in his skull or what's going on right now? Yeah, we've been texting a bunch, thinking about some pranks I got to pull on him, but I don't know. I'll just not talk as much as we used to. Do you have like his cell phone passcode so you could set his alarm? No, I actually don't know his password.

Oh, God. He doesn't share that information. I don't know. I mean, we can get Oz the Mentalist there, TJ. Maybe he can crack his phone for him.

Easy work.

Okay, you know, like he's cracked your phone. Yeah. And that way you can just like set his alarm for him the night before and just really mess with him. Yeah. He's a wizard, guys.

I'm telling you. There you go. I like it. I love all of the gameplay that's going on right now here in advance of the semifinals. Chris Kavanaugh and Ryder Garnzy are California Redwoods attackman.

They're taking on the Denver Outlaws in the PLL semifinals Monday, September 1st. They're here in studio.

So Ryan Ryder, you are with the Notre Dame Program, correct? Yes, sir. I'm the assistant coach. You're one of the assistant coaches right now for La Crosse at Notre Dame. Very good.

And you know Chris's Brove? Like you, like, you have some history with. With the Kavanaugh family, if I'm not mistaken. Yeah, so when I showed up on campus, I went to Notre Dame as well. I showed up in the fall of 15, and Chris's older brother, Matt, was.

our best player and captain, someone that I looked up to. Got to play with him for a year, played with him uh on the Redwoods actually for three or four years, four, um, And then Chris and his older brother Pat showed up to campus a couple years later, and I got the chance to coach them. Long history with these guys. How many brothers do you have? How many sisters do you have?

I have one of six. One of six. Five boys, one girl. One girl. Yeah, right.

Okay. Okay, the princess of the family. Yeah. So there's Matt, there's Pat, and there's Chris. Is every other name rhyme with Matt and Pat?

Kevin, Brendan, Colleen.

Okay. Big Irish family. I just didn't know if it was they went full Dr. Seuss in your house. I will play with Matt.

I will play with Pat.

Okay, and so you're you're playing against your brother. Pat's an MVP finalist right now. Yeah. It was pretty weird playing against him twice. Never played against them my whole career, so ever.

It's weird rooting against them. Is your family come to these? Yeah, they'll be in Philly. Watching us.

Okay, so they're like the Mannings of the La Crosse world right now, right? Pretty much? Is it an appropriate analogy or am I embarrassing you right now? I guess, but just Just play hard and hopefully win games. Where are you from?

Where are you from? I'm from Long Island. Where on Long Island are you from? Rockville Center.

Okay. What do you got for me there, Del Tufo? Are you focused on this sort of thing? Rockville Center, Long Island, is that Nassau or is that Suffolk? Where are we?

That's all. No, I was going to have him flip a coin. He's not easy, though. He's from New Jersey. I'm from New Jersey, but I've DJed in Long Island.

Oh, Jersey. Did you DJ on Long Island? Yeah. Where? LI Exchange.

Do you know this establishment? Long Island Exchange? Yeah. LI Exchange. Okay.

Long Island Exchange. He has no idea. You have no idea. Oh, this is way. This is.

You know where before? The shore is. Thank you.

Okay. Are you guys near Long Beach by chance? Long Beach? Yeah. Yeah.

I lived there. 20 minutes away.

Okay. I lived there one summer. It was. Oh, did you leave anything there? Do you want the cabinos to pick it up for you?

I probably knew one of them.

Okay, we can figure that out. And lacrosse, obviously, huge on Long Island. Huge East Coast. Did you grow up basically with like a lacrosse stick in your hand, or pretty much? Or did your dad play your mom play?

My parents grew up in Queens. My dad played basketball and hockey. My mom played volleyball.

So they didn't know what lacrosse was until they moved to Long Island.

Okay. And then he just called us softs the rest of the way.

So we call him Lacrosse. Oh, man.

Okay. Do you want to work anything else out around here long ago? They're all good. CB raiders. Couch on here.

We're all good. You can get it all out there.

Okay. Very good. So you just, you know, his whole family pretty much. Yeah. Right.

Yeah, at this point. Pretty close with all of them. All right.

How's the Notre Dame program looking? Good. You know, we ran out of Kavanaugh, so we got to go back to the recruiting trail. September 1st is actually a big day for us. Yeah.

On the recruiting side of things, that's the first day that we can talk to juniors. Um, so we'll, you know, hopefully win our semifinal game and then. Through that, build a little momentum for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and get some more guys like this on board. Again, I'm not familiar with the program, but I'm just assuming. Uh Notre Dame can find more Kavanaughs.

In places. Yeah, I hope so. I hope so. We got uh What, uh, your dad's cousin's kid coming in this year? Is that right?

Yeah. So yeah, we're trying to string the bloodline along as long as we can. Wow. How many more Kavanaughs are playing lacrosse, man? A few more, second cousins.

Okay. But yeah, they're younger. Where are you from originally? I'm originally from New Hampshire, just off the beaten path, middle of nowhere.

So how are you a Commanders fan? Walk me through this. Yeah, so. Uh-oh, Chris is laughing. Do you know the story, Chris?

It's not a great story, honestly. When I was growing up, my brother... I love Glenn Portis, is what it comes down to. That's a good way to start. And I love the press conference that he was doing when I was young growing up.

He was doing, you know, he had the clown costume, Sheriff, gonna get you, a couple of those. How old are you? I'm 29. Oh, my God.

So you were seven years old when we were doing that stuff on NFL Network. Yeah. Because when we started NFL Network in 2003. We were Clinton Portis all the time because of him showing up in all those costumes.

So that I spoke to a young man, a growing young man. You know, Washington van in New Hampshire. Coach Janky Spanky. I remember Coach Jackie Spanky. I haven't heard that forever.

Southeast Jerome.

Now it's Southeast Jerome. Mike, you remember that? Honestly, it was that and Bill Parcel's press conferences that got us through the first year of NFL Network and Brunson Buckner.

Southeast Juro. Oh, my God.

I remember that. Dola Mike Jenkins. You're looking them all up now. No, I am. I remember these are all names.

So that's got you to be a LDC. Yeah, unfortunately. I mean, growing up in Patriot Country then for 20 years, it was tough. But it looks like we sort of turned a corner and the commanders are on there on the way up these days. You got to love the news from today, right?

I mean, McLaurin. Great news to wake up to. Yeah. Had a bunch of texts from my buddies. Everybody's excited.

Okay, very good. Hold on a minute. We have today is a great day to pay Terry McLaurin. That was yesterday. Yesterday, Ryder.

You got it done, Ryder. You tweeted that out yesterday. Yeah, I'll take a little bit of credit for that. I hope China Peters saw it. TJ's a Cowboy fan.

Would you like Ryder to tweet out today, today would be a good day to pay Micah Parsons? Look, Ryder, boom, I realize there's no love between our teams, but it's got power. It's done for me, I'd appreciate it. This man has power. 80 million, no less, if the Cowboys are going to sign him.

Okay, whatever it takes. I mean, that's just tweet that out. Yeah, I'm. I think you're underpaying them.

Now, Chris. You were a fan of which National Football League team, Chris? New York Jets.

Okay, that's a Long Island guy right there. Wow. All right, Hempstead, right around the corner, right? Back in the day. And your parents are from Queens, like this.

You had to root for the Jets. Yeah. You had to. 100%. How are we feeling?

Um Yeah, it's it's always a good preseason for the Jets and then Always end up shaking your head, but would you rather talk about the California Redwoods than this topic of conversation? I'm sure you can. I'm sure you can. But do you I mean what do you I mean, what do you think? Forget the preseason.

You got a new coach. You got a new quarterback. You got a new situation. I'm very high in Justin Fields. You are.

Um Running option, throwing option. I think he's going to be great. There's been some doubts about their offense in the preseason, but I would agree. New coach, new view. I think it's a good start for them.

Okay. And where did you go to school? I went to Shamanot High School and uh went to Notre Dame and I went to the Taft school as well and connected Notre Dame, of course. Everybody's going to Notre Dame. You know, I'm a Michigan Wolverine.

Yep.

So, uh Yeah. Is that why you didn't bring me anything? Not on the schedule these days.

Well, here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Ryder, I mean, I'm happy to give you a history lesson, if you'd like, as to who was the one who removed whom from the schedule and has not rescheduled them. I mean, we can go there.

But it's kinda wild that the quarterback there is the grandson of uh Lloyd Carr right now.

So it's a And I didn't. I do love the coach, which pisses me off 'cause I really want to hate Notre Dame football. But Marcus Freeman is outstanding. He's done a great job. Popular guy on campus.

He's for the music. He's the agent. You know, treats everybody. The way that they want to be treated. I love that.

That's good to hear. All right, so let's talk about your match Monday, September 1st. Chris, I'll give you the floor first. You know what you're going to be thinking as you're going out there for the right to play in the championship. And obviously, you know.

You've had an illustrious career collegiately and in your rookie season as well. What's going to go through your mind for this match? Yeah, it's going to be exciting. Playing against a lot of familiar faces. Rookie season's been unbelievable.

Getting a chance to play for a championship in your first year of the PLL after some. pretty tough years uh for the Redwoods in the past.

So uh kind of changing new chapter and and Redwoods across is It's awesome, um but playing against my brother and playing with Ryder in that relationship is it's unbelievable and I can't wait to suit up. In Philadelphia, right? Yeah. Okay. And what's going to go through your skull?

Um Not as many relationships, I guess. You know, my brother's not on the other side, so uh Just try to be dialed into the next play. Um I think that we've gone on some some lulls in We're a young team, so that sort of makes sense. But let's try to keep the guys as focused as we possibly can on the next play.

Now, what are you sensing about the popularity of this league, of the sport, the level of attention that you've you've seen paid to it over the years? What do you got for me there? Yeah, I mean, I think that it's been You know, just a pretty steady upward trajectory of the league. I mean, we were in Manhattan Beach last night. We ran into a kid who played at Princeton and Duke and He's dialed in, knows exactly what's going on, watches every weekend.

I don't think that that would have been true, you know, five, ten years ago.

So I think that I mean, that's where we see it, right? Everybody that we interact with is is paying attention. It's on ESPN, it's on Sports Center.

So it it's been great. Since you're feeling the same thing? Yeah. Every feedback has been positive from my friends and I think the audience is getting older and older each year, which is very good for the league and Good for it five, ten years down the road.

Well, they're the same age. They're just jet fans. They just look older. Just gaggling. Man, I wear the scars too from back in the day.

But I'm calling a Jet Bronco game in London.

So I'm excited to see what the Broncos look like this year, too. That's coming. I don't have any Commanders games.

Sorry, buddy. Oh, that's all good, dude. Good to see you guys here. Thank you for coming. Thanks for watching.

Say hi to Long Island for me. Say hi to all my friends at Notre Dame. You know, I'm sure they ask about me a lot. Frequently. Yeah, yeah.

Yeah. Three words to all is Rudy was offsides. Tell them I said that, please. Is that wrong to say that? Kind of.

It's wrong. I wouldn't have said it if they brought me a gift. I'm really honest. Trying to be straight up. All right, Rudy, come on out.

Hey, Rudy. With his brass knuckles. Oh man. And so who do you want? Who do you want in the finals?

Come on. it and board it. What do we got? What do you want? We lost to both teams on the other side, so.

Got any brothers left you want to beat? Chris is goalie from uh What, three or four years plays for the The Atlas, so If you need a bulletin board, then we'll go. We'll try to shoot on Liam if we can get started. You've got connections everywhere. I just got hired at Michigan.

Oh, great. He's one of their assistant coaches now. Talking some trash.

Well, tell him I said hi. Good to see you guys. Chris Kavanaugh and Ryder Garnzee, California Redwoods. Everybody check out again Denver Outlaws taking on their California Redwoods, the semifinals at PLL Monday, September 1st. Let's talk O'Reilly Auto Parts, people.

that knows when he's defeated. Yes. I was beaten this year. Yes. So.

My business manager is supposed to have the hat for us. He did not. Oh, we're throwing Jamal under the bus. Who's throwing under the bus right now? Who was thrown under the bus by the bus just right now?

See, he didn't even show his face. He's. I was willing to Wear this hat. He had it made up.

Well, he told me that the hat that he made up had the final score on it. No, he had the hat on there. Whatever. It was a hat. I don't know what the hell was that.

The hat is supposed to read the following. I am going to. Listen to this, okay. Uh-huh. Hail to the victors, valiant.

Hail to the conquering heroes. Hail, hail. to Michigan the lead. Thirds and best. Wow.

That is for you. Wow. I honestly did not I can't have thought of anything else that you would do that would make me think that you would not have to follow through on your end of the wager, which is. Where and I should have gone to Michigan hat on the vaunted field of Notre Dame with touchdown Jesus behind you, but. Do I let him out of that end of the bet now?

He's pretty epic, actually. And he nailed all the words. Oh, he grew up in the state of Michigan. He should know them. He should know them.

I mean, that was like a matter of fact. No, I did not know them. I had to look them up to make sure I was saying it correctly for you. Also, I'm getting the visions of Jerome practicing before he came out. It sounded rehearsed.

Yeah, it sounded rehearsed. That was great. That took a lot out of me. Great job, Jerome. You know that.

That was awesome. That was all. You know what it took for me to sing that on national television? Yes, and radio. And we're going to switch it out.

Oh, yeah, and it'll be there forever. Yes, right.

Now, that's something that's going to be there forever. See? My phone is buzzing already. I haven't seen it, and I'm sure somebody knows the name that's pissed off. I actually kind of think I'm in trouble now.

I'm in trouble already. That was pretty great. That was great, Jerome. Very impressive, and I would never sing your fight song. By the way, it's in a couple years.

We got a couple years. A couple years. Honestly, I could have a kid right now, and he or she could be bar or bot mitzvah by the time that the next game goes down, because Notre Dame refuses to play my school. Great rendition of The Victors, man. Absolutely.

Well done. That part. No, no, no. That was really terrific. Yeah, I'm sure you're going to say that.

Of course you will. And by the end of today, by sundown. I will have a new ringtone. And it's gonna be fantastic when you call me. YouTube.com slash Rich Eisen Show.

That is our spot for all things. Rich Eyes and Show on YouTube, everybody. What? I'm blocking. I'm blocked.

The camera. I can't see you. No, I know. They moved the camera. I know they moved the camera so we can get the two.

It's okay. I know. I can. It's all right. We're the type of guys like we can't just look at each other.

We got to make eye contact. Yes. Big eye contact. Me too. Yeah, if you don't make eye contact, they think you're like not.

Then you don't care. You don't care. It's like I'm not even here. Exactly. Right?

I'm gonna pay no mindless. We can't have it. It'll be moved. Don't worry. And plus, you're moving left.

Like, do you normally go to your left? Like, no.

Okay. That's because I want to look at you, Rich. What are you making a face for? I'm not. You and I never have something.

I know. We have a direct list. I'm not over there. TJ Jeff. I can see TJ Johnson.

That's fantastic. That's faith. Back here on the Rich Eisen Show. Good talk. Hey.

Let's do this. I think Rex in Oklahoma's been chiming in wanting to play something. You're there, Rex? You there, Rex? Yes, I'm here.

Thank you.

You've got it right there in the nation's heartland. What's on your mind, Rex? I'd like to do the Miami win loss. Miami Dolphins win loss. That's what we're going to get a lot of.

We have Lamar in Charlotte. We're having to go 8-9 and Brandon, upstate New York, 11-6. Let's see what the heartland of the country has to say. Rex in Oklahoma. Why are you a Dolphin fan, Rex, in Oklahoma?

I was born and raised, 70-Cal, not too far from where you guys are now.

Okay. I picked the Dolphins when I was 15 years old. I'm 68 now. I've had a lot of sorry times, I know that, but some good times too. All right, what happens when you take.

LA teams I had to go with somebody else. Got it. What happens when they go to Indianapolis to start the season? We're gonna beat the call. Win home for the Patriots.

We're going to beat the pay grid.

Sorry about that, Chris, but they've had this time. They're done. We're now 2-0 going into the short week at Buffalo Thursday night. Dad, we're going to lose your Buffalo and Buffalo. Two and one home for the Jets on a Monday night.

Oh yeah, we beat the Jabs. Three and one at the Panthers. Oh, yeah, we'll beat the Panthers. Four and one home for the Chargers. Kind of hate to say charges, but yeah, we're going to beat you too.

Five and one at the Browns. Oh, yeah, we're going to beat the Browns. Six and one at the Falcons. Feeling good. What's up?

Oh no, we're good. Yeah, like every year we say we're gonna win the Super Bowl, so come on. What happened? Falcons get the win. Uh-huh.

Falcons get the win. Okay, so that's six and two. Home for the Ravens on a Thursday night. Ah, we're gonna lose that home game. Six and three, home for the Bills.

That we beat the Bills finally. 7-3 in Madrid against the Commanders. We're going to test one. We're going to win against the Commanders. That's now off the by, eight and three.

Home for the Saints. Oh, we beat the banks, definitely. Nine and three at the Jets. Oh yeah, we beat the Jad. Ten and three at the Steelers on a Monday night.

Tough one. I think the Stills will win that one. 10-4 home for the Bengals on a Sunday night. We're gonna beat Bengals. 11 and 4 home for the Bucs.

Oh yeah, we'll beat him. 12 and 4 at the Patriots. I mean. And we'll beat them too. 13 and 4 says Rex.

Yeah, I know, kind of crazy, but hey, gotta go there. Thank you, Dex. Good job, Rex. You're not mad, Dice. Man, you're a fan.

I love him.

Okay. Listen. We just had a win-loss game played. by a Dolphin fan in Oklahoma. having the Dolphins go 13 and 4 and Chris said crazy or somebody said crazy around here.

But nothing is as crazy as what I saw at the United States Open at the U.S. Tennis Center. In Flushing Meadows, New York last night. I've never seen anything like this. As you know, I covered the U.S.

Open for three years, I've been watching it. Four years. For decades, my parents would never let a television set in the kitchen. They would wheel in a black and white television for Super Saturday. Yep.

And I've seen a lot. I've seen McEnroe do his thing. I've seen Ely Nostasi do his thing.

Well, I mean, Borg never went off the rails like, you know. They were like not the same way. Macro was the one. Macro was the same. What I saw from Medvedev last night.

was Completely understandable, and then totally bat guano insane. Unpin Benjamin Bonzi, unranked. Frenchman. Had Medvedev on the ropes serving. Match point In a straight sets victory to make it three Grand Slam first round exits in a row.

From Endra. Any This Kid Bonzi puts one right in the net for his first serve. At which point A still photographer comes out of the right corner. Like out of nowhere, out of a tunnel, and decides to utilize the. Few seconds in between the first and second serves to serve out a United States Open first-round match.

to try and make it from the corner to the center court Camerawell position. And the Cheer on. Screams at the guy. I'm watching the game and all the match, and all of a sudden you hear like, not now. Screaming at the guy, not now, get off the court.

And I thought, did somebody jump out of the stance? No, it's some dude with a it's still photog. For whatever reason he thinks I'll make it there or I'll I'll run on the On a court? And they stop, obviously. And for whatever reason, the ump decides to give Bonzi his first serve back, even though the first serve was hit into the net well before dude comes out from the tunnel.

And Medvedev rightfully goes up to the chair and starts barking at him and then starts calling him out for being like he doesn't want to be here. He screams at the camera and the microphone: hey, folks, he doesn't want to be here. Calls out another colleague of his who called this chair umpire one of the worst umps in the sport just last week. And then he's riling the crowd up. He said he got paid by the hour, not paid by the hour.

He starts riling the crowd up, which turns into like a Davis Cup crowd. And it was the crowd was dead. Match was over. Six minutes later, I thought to myself: if I'm Bonzie, I'm just going to serve it in the middle of everybody going crazy. And of course.

Medvedev came back, won the third set, won the fourth set, six love. And then there's a break fest in the fifth Fifth uh set. Where they're breaking each other. Bonzi starts cramping. He starts serving first serves like their second serves because he can't get any.

any power into it. And he beats Medvedev in the fifth set. But I've never seen anything like this. The Medvedev starts slamming it. Slamming his racket.

Destroying his racket. He loses his mind. And I'm concerned for his mental welfare because some of the stuff he was doing in the six minutes, he looked like the Joker. Yeah. Honestly, like he was out of his mind.

Yeah, he was. There were stairs. He would have stared at him. And he's now lost in the first round of three straight grand slams. He looks Like a broken man, like his racket.

He just smashed his racket over and over again. And apparently the uh Photog lost his credentials. Ugh. Yeah, he should have. Yep.

Medvedev got fined $150K for all that. His flushing metals privileges have been revoked. I've never seen anything like it. It was one of the craziest, and it was after midnight. It was one in the morning, the New York crowd's going nuts.

And everybody shrugs their shoulders. He goes, I'd see you what's open. Yep.

Unreal.

You could face a life-altering injury or even death, but You're not the only one who could face those consequences.

Paid for by NHTSA.
