“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”
Humility should be one of the primary marks of an authentic Christian, and it is repeated throughout both the Old and the New Testaments. The Psalmist says, “One who has a haughty look and a proud heart, him I will not endure” (Ps. 101:5), while James reminds us that, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (4:6). I think John the Baptist put it most succinctly when he said, “He must increase, but I must decrease” (Jn. 3:30).

Recently we witnessed the total depravity of man manifest in Las Vegas. Here On the month of the 500th year anniversary of the reformation.
Depraved – debauched sin rocks sin city. In the middle of a big country music concert a deranged Gunman killed over 57 people & wounded over 500. What was his motivation? All the media outlets are wondering What drove him to it? The same thing that plagues all of us in Adams fallen race-sin or total depravity as the reformers called it.
Hence Romans 3:23 & Romans 6:23.
A graphic reminder of our desperate need for the Savior and our need to pray for and support all the ministry happening today in sin city.

What are your chains? And how could Paul say in Philippians 1:13, “My chains are in Christ”?
I’ve been absolutely fascinated with this little phrase from Paul in Philippians 1, verse 13 where he says my chains, my bonds…are in Christ. Here he goes to Rome to preach the Gospel and ends up going as a prisoner chained, in house arrest, to a Roman guard.
Things may not have seemed to turn out like he had hoped, but he says this has happened to the furtherance of the Gospel. Whatever your chains are, whatever rough stuff you’re going through, remember, God has you in that mess to spread His message! Can you say with Paul, “My chains are in Christ?” If you’re in Christ, you can say that. Trust Him today and let Him break every chain in your life.

In Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.
Our mind is constantly thinking. You can only think scientifically one thought at a time. Is your mind being filled with and fueled with The Word of God, or are you thinking about stuff that doesn’t matter? My challenge to you is to think Godly thoughts and watch the fruit of those thoughts come out in your life! What are you thinking about?!!! Think about Him. And let him change and His peace rule your hearts and minds.
