There's a reason, friends, that woke simply won't work. It's time for the line of fire with your host, biblical scholar and cultural commentator, Dr. Michael Brown. Your voice for moral sanity and spiritual clarity. Call 866-34-TRUTH to get on the line of fire.

And now here's your host, Dr. Michael Brown. Friends, you know what you're going to get when you tune in here. You're going to get the truth spoken in love. We'll do our best to emulate hearts of compassion, backbones of steel and serving as your voice for moral sanity and spiritual clarity. I'm not backing down.

I'm not withdrawing because it gets a little hot here on the front lines. We are all on the front lines today. That is the spiritual reality. As a follower of Jesus, there are targets on our back. But we are moving forward. We are not cowering in a corner.

We're not capitulating to the culture. We're standing firm together. And it's my goal, my calling, my joy, my honor to help infuse you with faith and truth and courage to help you stand strong on the front lines. If you're not getting our front lines newsletter, sign up today. Go to the line of fire dot org. If you get our emails, then you got this a few days ago. If you somehow missed it, go back and look in your emails. It is so important the material we're putting out each month. I'm getting really excited about next month's frontline newsletter. So go to the line of fire dot org to get on today's broadcast, to interact with me about the subject matter, to take issue with me, to probe, to go deeper.

If you want to talk politics, I'll talk from a spiritual perspective. More than anything, eight, six, six, three, four, eight, seven, eight, eight, four. I got some neat sports clips. I'm going to well, they're not sports clips. They're clips from people in sports glorifying the Lord.

Well, we'll play some of those as well. Eight, six, six, three, four, eight, seven, eight, eight, four, eight, six, six, three, four, three. I'm not taking random Bible questions, but I am taking your calls on a wide range of subjects today. I know that in African-American parlance, for some decades, the term woke has meant something different than it's widely used today in our culture. In a lot of black American circles, it would mean you're alert to racial prejudice or discrimination. That's what it's largely meant over the decades. Not only that, but largely meant that as it was taken on by more and more of the culture, especially by white America being woke, it became an expression of radical leftism. And that's how I'm using it. I'm not using it in the positive sense of being rightly alert to racial prejudice and discrimination when it is there.

I'm using it in the sense that it's become widely used in the culture, especially as white people became woke. It is this enlightened leftism that is a radical leftism that simply doesn't work. And it's often infused today with a Marxist ideology as well. That's why I wrote an article, I think, let's see, when did we post it?

Yeah, we posted January 15th, so a little over a week ago, and it's called Woke Won't Work. So again, we're talking about a radical leftist ideology. We're talking about a mindset that has embraced certain cultural principles that are destructive, that are not conducive to human thriving. And it's one reason that a lot of these are kind of interwoven in a more hidden way, taught in a more hidden way within school systems, because when you bring them out fully to the light, they wither. They can't withstand the light of day.

They don't work, they don't function well. Let me just give an example, all right? I'll give you a hypothetical example. Let's, and it's a ridiculous example. It's not meant to be an actual metaphor or allegory or a simile.

It's just a ridiculous example. But let's just say that I wanted more people to come to my football camp for training, right? Training for the NFL combines, right? You're going to be showing off your skills and things like that. But I want more people to come. So I said, listen, we're going to have a totally different program here. Our program, you kind of eat whatever you want.

In fact, we have a gourmet chef who'll cook whatever you want to eat. You eat whatever you want and sleep in, and then we just watch movies about football and talk about it at night to get you ready for the camp. Well, of course, everyone would go to camp and completely flop and fail because they're not in shape, right? Because it doesn't work.

It is not conducive. Okay, ridiculous analogy. But my point is, and I'll go in another ridiculous analogy.

But this was a little closer to home. If you're training to be an accountant or a CPA and you are going through understanding economics and you're going through tax codes and you are going through making sure your math is good, it's okay. That's one thing. If you are taking classes, learning how the tax codes themselves are corrupt or learning how math is bigoted and racist, you're not going to be ready to be a CPA. In the same way, if you're going to be a cartographer, you're going to be a map maker, right? And your study of geography is really mapping out, okay, understanding countries and how they developed and borders and how these are calculated and latitude and longitude and maps and all. Okay, great. And historical geography and how nations got to be where they are, et cetera, so maps can show how things unfolded over history. Great, but if you're geography classes, how do you feel about...
