The following program is recorded content created by the book of James. The Bible study group that I teach comes over to the house and I've been doing this now for I don't know how long, a year or so I guess, I don't know, anyway, so a while back I taught on the doctrine of the Trinity and we were discussing it last week and I did a five week series on the Trinity and they said they loved it and so we're talking about it, they want me to do it again and we thought after the book of James to do it again and they said that there was so much useful information, so much stuff they'd never even heard of before as relates to the doctrine of the Trinity and how utterly important it is. Now of course I gave them a lot of information and I didn't do it like a fire hose approach but point by point and just worked through it.

So maybe I could do something like work up a lesson plan and people could then go to the web and see the pages of the lesson plan and fill in blanks as I'm teaching through things. We want people to understand the doctrine of the Trinity. Now when people understand the doctrine of the Trinity they think it's really simple and it is but there's so much in it, there's so much truth in the doctrine that people don't realize how wonderful it is and so I'll be doing that again. Also of all things to study I have been studying quantum physics. Now that may sound like a huge undertaking but more and more it's making sense of what it is that they're saying about quantum physics. I'm not saying I understand at all. I'm just saying, oh I get it.

Excuse me there's a little bit of a yawn. And the reason I'm studying it is because of some things that are going on in the New Apostolic Reformation. And so let's see, the physics of heaven. I'm going to read, I've already done it a few times, but I'm going to read a little bit of quotes from a book, The Physics of Heaven. But I want to talk about, before I do that I want to talk about quantum physics a little bit and why I'm studying it. Now as you may know, Bill says do a study on the attributes of God. Yeah that'd be good, maybe I will.

Yeah I've got something like that I could do too. Anyway, so quantum physics, okay now this may sound like, what are you studying that for? What's it got to do with Bible study for?

What's it got to do with a Christian show? Well get this, there are some very interesting things inside of quantum physics. Let me explain something, I'll make it really simple. That in quantum physics there's called the particle-wave duality. And that all things, all particles exhibit both characteristics. And that everything is a probability. That there's no actuality, but probability describes what is, what must be, what can be, and things like this. And then when you measure, when you look, that's when the probability becomes an actuality.

So what's the probability of an electron being in any particular place in an orbit? They can calculate it and say there's a probability of this, but when you measure it, that's when it's actualized and it may or may not be right in where it's located. And it gets into what's called the Heisenberg uncertainty principle and things like this. Alright, there is a school of thought inside of quantum physics called the Copenhagen view.

And the Copenhagen view, it was dominant for a while, it's kind of fallen out of favor lately because of what it is stating. And what it's stating is that you need an observer to collapse probability to actuality. So you have to have a conscious observer. That there are things that have probable, probable mathematical characteristics related to them, but in order for them to collapse into actuality, let's just say, you have to have an observer and the observer has to be conscious. And so when they have machines that are there that measure something, it does not affect what they're doing or the results unless someone's watching this kind of a thing and it's bizarre. Alright, so the implication is that there's a consciousness that's needed for things to become real. Now that's a simplified version of stuff.

Now why is that important? Because in Hinduism and some forms of Buddhism and things like this, there are ideas that go around that there is a frequency, there are waves, there are energies that we can get in tune with and by getting in tune with them we can, so to speak, create reality. Quantum mysticism is a study or a position that's being held or being developed based on the idea of the Copenhagen interpretation of the necessity of consciousness to, in the act of observing, actualizes a potential. In other words, where something might be, could be, how it might be, can never be known until it's observed, but the observation actually causes it to become a reality. That's the enigma, among other things inside of quantum physics. And so quantum mysticism is the idea that there's a consciousness that is behind everything. Now you can see where this potentially could go into the idea of God. Well, also in this quantum mysticism is the idea of getting in tune or discovering frequencies and sounds because everything vibrates, everything has a frequency and so the idea is, now that I've laid this out sufficiently, hopefully, that if you want to create or control reality, you need to be consciously aware of the frequencies and the vibrations of reality that you can get in touch with in order to bring about what you want. Now this is New Age. New Age is based on Hinduism and some other things where the idea of the divine is inside of nature and some views the divine is not conscious, some of views it is, but that there is a living kind of a frequency, an idea of vibrational energy that you can become in tune with, different frequencies of different objects and different things and that colors, sounds, lights, vibrations, patterns can then bring you into harmony with all this. So in Buddhism, they'll say this phrase that's supposed to get them in tune with the divine consciousness and so you can bring about certain things you desire. Alright, now the reason I'm bringing this up is, well for me, it's interesting stuff and I like to study stuff like that.

In the New Apostolic Reformation, which is sweeping through the Christian church, the idea within that New Apostolic Reformation, NAR, is the idea that prophets and apostles are alive today and the apostles are the ones who are preeminent and the apostles are the one, excuse me, the apostles are the preeminent and the prophets work under the apostles and apostles have the authority to determine the church and the prophets get words from God judged by the church and or elders and or the apostles and they're getting new truths, new revelations, these apostles and these prophets. They say that what they're getting is from God. Now, having said all of that, what I want to do is read some quotes from a book called The Physics of Heaven by Ellen Davis and Judy Franklin.

I went through this book carefully and I developed an article, I'm going to read from the article, on Karm, on varying quotes. Think about this. Think about the idea of getting in tune with consciousness. Now, this is experiential.

Therefore, strict logic and factual examination of positions is not encouraged because vibrational frequency in tunement is better. Getting in tune with the divine consciousness, with God, they'll say the Trinitarian God who operates vibrationally through the universe. And so what they're doing, some of them, what they're doing is using all of this new stuff to support an old heresy.

Now, here's one of the quotes, okay? I believe that the Lord, what the Lord has been showing both of us, this is by the two authors, is the absolute truth that will help us bring God's kingdom to earth. The Lord is ready to use sound, light and energy in ways we never dreamed. Now, there's a lot more.

It's going to come up in a couple of minutes. I'm going to read through some of these, go through these, and I want you to understand, I want you to hear what's being said. Now, this is creeping into the Christian church. This is not biblical because people are not putting the scriptures in the proper place of the final authority. Now, it's the revelation they're getting through apostles and prophets as well as their own revelation that gets through the Spirit of God and by getting used to the sound, light and energy in ways we've never dreamed of before.

It's clever and it's bad. And they said bringing heaven to earth is our mandate. That is not our mandate. That's not what our mandate is. It's to take dominion over the earth.

That's called the dominion mandate and to evangelize, not bring heaven to earth. And as they go on and they say there's going to be a new movement of the Holy Spirit and that it's going to be ten times that of Pentecost. Ten times more powerful.

Now, this is really interesting because what they're doing is opening themselves up to the occult by the idea of getting in tune with frequencies and energy waves and then focusing on them. And so, they say there's going to be the power of the world to come will be ten times that of Pentecost, says Bob Jones. Now, there's more. So, I'm going to continue through this after the break. And if you want to give me a call, 877-207-2276. We'll be right back after these messages. Please stay tuned.

Alright, everybody, welcome back to the show. I'm going to take another five minutes and read through some of the quotes we're talking about and then we'll get to the callers. And I wanted to say that this book has been approved by Phil Mason, the spiritual director, New Earth tribe, Byron Bay, Australia, author of Quantum Glory, by Banning Liebscher, Jesus culture director from Bethel Church in Reading, and in the Bethel Church in Cleveland by Steve Witt.

They approve of them as well. There are multiple authors that contribute to the book and they're well known inside of the New Apostolic Reformation. Okay, so here's some more things that they have said, different authors have said. So, all the contributors agree that the next move of God will cause a shift at the deepest level of who we are. Perhaps at the very vibrational level that the New Age movement has been exploring.

They also all agree that there are precious truths hidden in the New Age that belong to us as Christians and need to be extracted from the worthless. So what they're saying is, we can look to the New Age to learn things. So, and all the contributors of this book sense that God is on the verge of releasing something new on the earth and that new things somehow involve vibrations, frequencies, energy, sound, light, and taking quantum leaps by faith. We can reach into God for what has been reserved for tomorrow and pull it into our today.

So now you can manipulate through vibration this and that and get things out of God. And then because we are exploring territory that some people fear is full of counterfeits, you have a New Age movement, Jonathan Welton explains that Christians need not be afraid of being deceived by counterfeits but should realize that whenever we see a counterfeit we should try to discover the real behind it. So don't worry about being deceived.

Wow. And then Jonathan Welton says, to test all counterfeits both natural and spiritual you must determine the source. No, to test all counterfeits you look at scripture and you use it as the guide.

You don't look at the source of something else, you look at the truth of who God is. And so there's all this kind of stuff. So now what I want to do is just move down in my list to the stuff on quantum physics and then we'll get to the quotes. So this book is a conglomeration on the things Ellen and I, this is the introduction, have learned about sound, light, energy, frequencies, vibrations, and quantum physics. The revelatory connection between quantum physics and the spirit realm poses an uncomfortable challenge. Quantum mysticism is a term that has been used to refer to a set of metaphysical beliefs and associated practices that seek to relate consciousness, intelligence, or mystical world views to the ideas of quantum mechanics. Quantum physics serves as one of the great scientific disciplines bridging the river of confusion between science and biblical kingdom thinking.

Let's see here's another one. There are negative and positive vibrations. A positive vibration is like a portal into heaven. A negative vibration is like cancer.

When the power comes the positive will kill the negative. It's a vibration. Everything vibrates. Rocks, trees, everything vibrates. When we vibrate I think it's opening a portal. This stuff is from the occult in the new age and these two authors, these two women are using it to promote, using the scriptures and the bible to promote false doctrines.

Now that was said by a guy named Bob Jones when I just read. Here's something else. The holy spirit vibrated over nuclear matter to energize it, giving it reality to be shaped and formed.

That's Dan McCollum. And then Dan McCollum says, activate your sensitivity to your aural, that's auras, energy fields, your aural and spiritual environment. When you suspect a unique sound of light encounter follow it. Let's see this is by Ellen Davis and Judy Franklin, page 88.

When the vowels of ancient sacred languages such as Hebrew, Sanskrit, Egyptian and Tibetan were pronounced the vibration took the shape of the written symbols for these vowels while our modern language failed to produce the same result. And a guy named David Van Covering said, matter is frequency being spoken by Jesus. Judy Franklin said, the Lord began showing me visions of what was to come. Judy Franklin said, as soon as I read that paragraph I looked up and saw God the Father at the beginning of time and I saw our universe with nothing in it. This is in a vision she had. I'm sorry but the Bible says you can't see God the Father.

First Timothy 6 16, it was an approachable act who no man has seen nor can see. But yet she saw God the Father. I looked up to see an angel standing right in front of me. I'm not an angel type of guy, says Cal Pierce, but suddenly there was an angel speaking to me saying, I'm sent by God to answer your questions about the energy crisis. I am the energy angel. And Cal Pierce, I later met a man God had taken to heaven and shown how to produce four dimensional objects with sound. Later I attended a conference where I heard a Native American share about sonoluminescence, sounds creating bursts of light.

Let's see, one or two more, let's see. At 24 I was caught up into the spirit realm where I saw God seated on his throne, says Larry Randolph. When he finally did look at me I heard the cells in my body scream in unison, hide me from the face of him who sits on the throne. And then here's a couple more that are fun.

The four universal elements are water, wind, fire and earth, the sound of heaven, all the frequencies of the sound spectrum can be heard in water, wind and fire, says Ray Hughes in the book. And then finally, when God breathes on a thing it smells like apples. That's Bob Jones. So my goal here as an apologist, as a teacher of the word, as an offender of the faith, is to equip Christians. And one of the ways to equip Christians is to just read what the false teachers are saying.

Sometimes just going through what they say, you don't have to comment too much, you go listen to this, listen to this, you get it, you go man that is whacked. And that's what's happening and yet this book is accepted by a lot of the new apostolic reformation teachers who even contributed in it, which means they approve of what's written in there. This stuff is new age, this stuff is the occult, this stuff is not Christian and it's being promoted by some teachers in the new apostolic reformation and it's spreading. So get ready for the show to come to your church. Be aware and see if anybody starts pushing this stuff. Hey we have three open lines. If you want to give me a call 877-207-2276. We'll be right back after these messages. Please stay tuned. Hey welcome to the show. If you want to give me a call, three open lines, 877-207-2276. Let's get to Martin from Virginia, welcome. You're on the air.

Hey Matt, God bless Christ be with you. So smells like apples, wow. Did they say what kind of apples? No, they smell like apples, in fact, let me read the rest of that, because it says in the Song of Solomon 7-8, and his breath smells like apples.

So the Song of Solomon is between a man and a woman and she says his breath smells like apples, so when God breathes on a thing it smells like apples. Goodness, goodness, goodness. Well, I think, I'm hoping, I kind of pray that maybe Biden can get an energy angel for himself and kind of help things out. Yeah, he needs more than just an angel, I mean an energy angel.

But yeah, he needs something else, he needs maybe an exorcism. So you mentioned a book, I think you said The Physics of Heaven or something like that. So I read a book about six or seven years ago, The Physics of God, and it kind of paralleled a little bit what you were saying, except the author took a little more of a biblical stance, which was good, granted the author did include a lot of other religions and kind of bringing them in to how physics kind of relates to some of those religions. Yeah, by Joseph Selby, yeah, I'm reading it, yep. Oh yeah, it's pretty good, and they did the, I think the double slit particle oddness, and then I think they also did the twisted particle experiment, I mean it's just crazy stuff that's going on at a quantum level. And another good book is The Modern Physics and Ancient Police by Stephen Barr, B-A-A-R, it's a good one, it's a little bit older than The Physics of God, but it's a little deeper, and I mean, I certainly had to double dip or triple dip on some of those concepts, but he takes a heavily Christian approach.

Really? Yeah, he's very scientific, he's a brilliant guy. What's the name of the book? Modern Physics and Ancient Beliefs. Modern Physics and Ancient Beliefs, okay. Yeah, I'll check it out.

Stephen Barr, and I'm not sure of the last name, the spelling of last name, but it's a great one, I mean it took three or four months to finish it. Yeah, The Physics of God, I'm not reading that one yet, I'm reading a different one called God is Not Dead, and that's dealing with quantum physics, so yeah, I'm reading that, but I had the other one on my Kindle, so I'm going to read that too. Yeah, so the comment I kind of wanted to make is, I've got, unfortunately, well, unfortunately, certainly, I've got several family members that are heavily, you might say occultish, Wiccanish, you know, and they're always bashing on how religion's dying, Christians dying, and people are dropping off the faith. Back to them, of, well, you totally believe in the metaphysical, that means you're not an atheist, like you claim you are, so, and you look at those numbers, the metaphysical folks, the people that say they don't believe in God, are trying to substitute that God void for something else, they just don't want to have a God in there, but they want to have their God, which is great. Yeah, what they're doing, you understand there's a common denominator between Wicca and New Age, in that both have means by which you can extract from God what you want, or the principle of divinity that you want, through seances, or crystals, or vibrations, or frequencies of speech, or incantations, or whatever it might be, but it's just the same thing of how to get control and power for you, and that's the underlying principles in these things, and they're disguised in varying theological systems, and that's what's going on there.

Oh yeah, it's almost like the doorman of that is Joel Holstein, you know, the for you type of thing. Oh yeah, it's bad, and yeah, it's bad, and you know, there's an increase in this, but here's some good news, is that I'm discovering over the past few months on the internet, more and more young men who are well adept, very adept at thinking through things like this, and exposing error, and using scripture as the authority. I'm seeing it more and more, and it's increasing, and so praise God for that. He is providing answers, and he's providing individuals who will come up and rise up, and do what's right before God's word, so that's good. Praise God for that.

No, I agree, yeah, I agree. There is sort of a cultural rise in some of these younger folks that are watching, and granted, okay, so some of it's river church, and you know, those folks that do all the singing, but you can always kind of pull them out of the fold and talk to them more personally. At least they have exposure to scripture.

Granted, it may not be as strange as it should be, but if they're honest, they then adjust their aim and continue forward correctly. Yeah, man, that's happening, and I'm finding young men, and some of them will listen to what I have to say, and a few others I know who talk like this, and do this kind of level of apologetics, and they're learning, so that's good. It is increasing, and I praise God for that, but anyway, yeah, that's good stuff, man. So I'm going to check out the other book you said. That's all I had. Alright, well praise God.

Appreciate it. Yep, praise God. Alright, Martin, God bless. Hey, if you want to give me a call, we have four open lines.

All you have to do is dial 877-207-2276. Let's get to Mike from Iowa. Mike, welcome, you're on the air. Yeah, Mr. Slick. I'm tired of you fleecing the sheets.

Just kidding. Matt, I love you. Okay, I've called you before, and I have a question about the fact that even, I think the verse says even the elect will be deceived. Please help me understand that, because that makes my heart hurt. It makes your heart hurt? Yeah, it makes me sad. Alright, so it says, unless those days been cut short, no life would have been saved, but for the sake of the elect, those days will be cut short.

And that's Matthew 24-22, and also in Matthew 24-24, for false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. Alright, if possible. In other words, it's not possible. Wow.

Okay. So, you know who the elect are, according to scripture. This is theology that most Christians that I've encountered don't like. And most churches don't teach.

But it's right there. Just read two verses where the word elect is right there. And that word, I'm going to show you this, that word in Strong's Concordance is number 1588.

I'm hitting enter. It occurs 23 times in the New Testament. For many are called, but few are chosen.

Wow. And Matthew 24-31, and he will send forth his angels with a great trumpet. They will gather together his elect from the four winds.

Mark 13-20, it says for the sake of the elect, those days will be shortened. Let's go to Romans 8-33. Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies. Romans 16-13, Rufus, a choice man in the Lord, an elect man in the Lord.

That's an individual. Romans 16-13. And then get this, 1 Timothy 5-21, I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ, Christ Jesus, and of his chosen angels or his elect angels to maintain these principles.

And Revelation 17-40, I'm skipping a lot of them. These will wage war against the lamb and the lamb will overcome them because he is a Lord of lords and King of kings and those who are with him are called, are the called and chosen or the elect, the called and elect and faithful. So the word here is dealing with God's choosing. And if you go to Ephesians 1-4, this is Bible, just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we'd be holy and blameless before him. So he, that's the Father, chose us, that's the chosen ones, the elected ones, in him as Jesus. So the Father chose certain people, certain ones, in Christ. The choosing is done in Christ. In him is a phrase of federal headship, of representation. And so the choosing by God the Father can only be done with Christ, the pre-incarnate Christ existing, which necessitates the Trinity.

And the chosen ones are the elect ones from the foundation of the world. So when we get back... That's very lovely. It is.

I'll get back, for the break, I'll spend a little bit more on this, okay? We'll get back to Matthew 24, okay? Hey folks, you want to give me a call, all you've got to do is dial 877-207-2276.

I wish they taught this stuff in church. It's Matt Slick live, taking your calls at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, everyone, welcome back to the show. Mike, are you still there? I sure am. Okay, now I'm going to explain a little bit more, and then show you, it'll make sense why the elect can't be deceived.

It's just not possible. So what I was doing was showing you from the varying verses of how God chooses, and it's called election. That's the Greek word eklektos, and it occurs in many places. So eklektos is chosen, or to choose, but there's another word, eklege. So eklektos and eklege, they're very similar, and in Greek they're next to each other in the alphabet.

And the word eklege means to choose, to select. Paul is a chosen vessel in Acts 9-15. God chose to love Jacob and hate Esau, Romans 9-11. Romans 11-5, God has a remnant of believers due to his choice, and it goes on.

There's a particularly interesting verse, 2 Thessalonians 2-13. But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren, beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit. So he says he's chosen you from the beginning for salvation. Now that's a different word.

It's heleminas, heleminas. But that only occurs three times in the New Testament, and one is right here in 2 Thessalonians 2-13, God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation. But also in Philippians 1-22, but if I'm to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me, and I do not know which to choose.

There's a choice, right? And then the other, Hebrews 11-25, and verse 24 is necessary because it says, By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to endure all or ill treatment. So it means to take for oneself, to choose for oneself. God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation. Now I went to Ephesians 1-4, which says that he chose us in him before the foundation of the world. All right, this has to do with the intertrinitarian work.

Now having said all of this, check this out. John 6-37. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me certainly will not cast out. It does not say all that come to me the Father will then give them to me, if they come to me.

Nope. All that the Father gives me will come to me. Remember, God chose us in him. All that the Father, Jesus says, all the Father gives me will come to me. And the one who comes to me I certainly will not cast out, for I have come now from heaven not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me. This is the will of him who sent me, that all that he has given me, the one that God has chosen. All that he's given me, I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. So, now when we go to Matthew 24-22 and 24, we can get it.

We understand. Unless those days have been cut short, no life would have been saved, but for the sake of the elect, those days will be cut short. The elect are the ones chosen by God from the foundation of the world, given by the Father to the Son for redemption. And false Christ will arise and deceive many, showing great signs and wonders to his mislead if possible, even the elect. But it's not possible. That's the implication there. Why? Because they belong to God the Father who gave them to Christ, and we are now his, bought and paid for and dwelt, and we cannot be lost because Jesus says to all the fathers that he lose none, therefore the elect cannot be misled this way.

Okay? I have to say that it's the most humbling doctrine that I'm aware of. You know, you're not the only one who has said that.

When people... It's so heavy. It is humbling. Why would he choose us? I don't know. I heard a preacher once say, I'm glad that God chose me from the foundation of the world, or predestined me from the foundation of the world, because if he looked at me now, he wouldn't pick me. You know?

Yeah. And I love that. And what this does is give us comfort. That we are loved by God eternally. His thoughts for his chosen ones are eternal. That the love that he has bestowed is infinite. And what he has for us in the future cannot be undone.

This is very humbling, and because of it our response should be a humble appreciation and thanksgiving to God, and then go serve him. Oh boy. Yeah.

It sure is. This is biblical theology. I teach like this, I put these things together and show people, look at what it's saying, and they see it, and they go, this is good. And I don't find these things taught in churches. I just don't find them in church.

And why not? It's right there. No, it's seven steps to having a better marriage. Yeah. Tell me about it. Yeah, I just, I had called you a while back, and I've got this progressive pulmonary fibrosis thing, and I'm on some pretty expensive pills that, you know, hopefully, I can live a little longer, I'm okay with where I'm going.

But boy, talk about changing your priorities in life. It's just been amazing. And I really, I'm not just saying this to blow smoke, I really appreciate your ministry, and I'm so glad you're doing what you're doing. Because more people need to hear, but through what God says about things, not what man says about things. That's what needs to be taught, what God says, not what man says. And it's right there in scripture.

Last night I was talking online, and I gave about a half hour dissertation out of scripture on things similar to this, but different, on justification and salvation and how it works, laying this out to people. And a lot of times I do this, people say, I've never heard this before. And I show them, I show them things that are in the Bible. And they go, how come you haven't been taught this?

And it's a good question, how come you haven't? Yeah. Okay, well, I love you, sir, thank you very much. Amen, God bless, and thanks for calling, and great question, and may the Lord bless you, okay? All right, brother, God bless. All right, hey folks, want to give me a call?

We're at 877-207-2276. We'll get to Brian from Texas. Brian, welcome.

You're on the air. Hello, brother Schleich. My question is, some Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox apologists criticize the Protestant view of the Eucharist by saying that Zwingli was the first person who taught that it was like spiritually or symbolic, and that it wasn't, you know, the actual presence of the Lord or the body of the Lord. And they said he was the first one, they believe in church history to do that. If they came to you with that argument, how would you respond? Well, it's incorrect.

In Athenagoras of 133, he died in 190 AD. He talks about it, for men to partake of the flesh of men is a thing most hateful and abominable and more detestable than any other unlawful or natural food or act. So right there, he's refuting the idea of actually eating the body and blood of Christ.

And then I'm scanning through them. Here we go from Augustine, who died in 430 AD. He said, for the sacraments had not some points of real semblance, resemblance to the things of which they're sacraments. They resemble, okay?

They would not be sacraments at all. In most cases, moreover, they do in virtue of this likeness, bear the names of the realities of which they resemble. And Augustine also said, he said, this seems to enjoin a crime or vice to drink his blood, etc. It is therefore a figure enjoining that we should have a share in the suffering of our Lord. Let's see, Clement of Alexandria. He figuratively calls the word shed for many for the mission of sins, the holy stream of gladness.

I missed, I didn't read the whole thing there. And he blessed the wine saying, take drink. This is my blood, the blood of the vine. He figuratively calls the word shed for many for the mission of sins. As Clement of Alexandria died in 215, called it figurative. Clement of Alexandria said elsewhere, the Lord in the gospel, according to John, brought this out by symbols when he said, eat my flesh and drink my blood. And there's more.

Coincidentally, when I was teaching on Eastern Orthodoxy last night, the issue of the Eucharist came up, I had this information up on my screen. So that's why I went right to it. It was just literally right there. So yeah, symbols. Okay?

So it's not Zwingli who's the first one to say that. Furthermore, when the Roman Catholics say that the Eucharist, the blood and the wine are the literal body and blood of Christ, then I tell them, I say, you understand, I hope that the new covenant is not instituted until the death of Christ, per Romans 9, 15 and 16. And I read them a text.

I go, okay, good. That means that they were under the old covenant when Jesus instituted the supper. Right? And they'll say that's correct. So he was obligated to follow the Levitical law, wasn't he? Leviticus 17, 14. For as for the life of all flesh, its blood is identified with its life. Therefore, I said to the sons of Israel, you are not to eat the blood of any flesh.

Okay? Not to eat the blood of any flesh, but yet what they have Jesus doing is distracting the disciples to violate that law. You just think that throughout the centuries, the accretions basically caused the perversion of the Last Supper and also their view on baptism and Mary. It's just the accretions just kept stacking up to believe that these are distortions.

Yes. Think of a heresy as a boulder rolling downhill and the mountain of time allows a greater momentum of heresy to crash into other things, destroy truths and gather to itself like moss further errors. And this is what has happened with the Roman Catholic Church. And I can go through and I can talk about Catholicism for hours and its many apostate doctrines, its false teachings.

It is bad news. Who do you think, I imagine you've read several books on it. Who do you think got the best book given a good fair critique of it? Well, I would recommend the book, The Gospel According to Rome by McCarthy I think his name is. The Gospel According to Rome. I learned a great deal out of that and there's other books too.

Roman Catholicism by I think it's Bednar. But what I've done is I've discovered the resources that, I've gone to the Vatican website. I have access to an online searchable form of the catechism of the Catholic Church. I also have access to a, it's a brilliant document, brilliant website seriously and the Catholics did it, of all the cross references of all the church fathers to all the scriptures. And you can type in a single verse and it will give you all the references of all the church fathers who said what. It is brilliant. And you go through and you start reading and researching and you find out these quotes.

They call it a symbol here. And so I have a great deal of research. I don't really use other people's books anymore. I just go straight to the sources and we're out of time. I'd love to talk about this more.

One of my favorite topics is Catholicism. God bless, buddy. All right, Catherine from Canada.

Can you resist being an elect? No, you can't. And I can explain why. If you want to call that tomorrow, we can talk about it. Okay. So may the Lord bless you all by his grace.

I'm back on the air tonight. I teach Bible study continuing through James. May the Lord bless you. God bless. Another program powered by the truth network.
